I have found it convenient and enjoyed being able to keep my bank accounts at GECU even after moving to California. I have a checking account that I can transfer money to from my savings account. Being able to transfer funds and deposit checks is exactly what I need. I've been using the mobile app for about 5 years now and we have a great long distance relationship. :)
Your customer service is terrible. My wife spoke to someone about the skip a pymt offer and they told her that her next payment wasn’t due until January so there was no need to apply to skip. They also told her that my request to skip a pymt was approved. To our surprise, both of our car pymts were withdrawn for December. We had problems with your bank last year and moved our auto deposits for our paychecks to Bank of America. This is the last time we finance with your bank. You have really gone downhill the last few years. It is very frustrating. My in-laws said the same so I know it’s not just us. I make it a point to tell friends and family how dissatisfied we are with your credit union.
Thanks this is a very helpful and great app, there is one thing that I would suggest adding and it is the ability to freeze and unfreeze my debbit/credit card in case of it getting lost since I lost mine today and luckily found it but such ability would have tranquilised me, other than that great app very convenient thanks and thumbs up to all who were involved in creating it😆😆
The app is great, it never stutters or anything but cmon guys it’s been what 4 years since dark mode came out on IOS and you guys still haven’t updated that, sometimes I’m driving at night or just in a dark environment and it’s really annoying having all the light of my phone blast my face because there isn’t a dark mode, that’s the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars. Please guys update the app im sure a lot of people will appreciate a dark mode option.
Not only every purchase l make gets posted to my account, but it lasts 3-5 days to actually charge which l hate, and l love opening my app to seeing how it charges double for some transactions. I also hate paying $30 on $30 on $30 for fees that Chime or other banks would NEVER charge that lousy crap. Not only they use our money to make money buy charge us for sparing us a few extra bucks. If customer service doesn’t dispute the double charging or refund the money that im negative because of the double posted charger im closing this bank account and choosing to stick to any other bank
Cash back notifications have got to go! I open my GECU app quite frequently on a daily basis and every single time I open it that notification pops up, it is annoying to the point I might switch banks just because of that. Either let us turn this feature off or remove I don’t need to go in there every single time when I’m just trying check my balance, transfer money between accounts or doing anything else not concerning “cash back offers”
Simple, non hideous design. Always works, which is more than I can say about most banking apps. I love that my home page shows me both the current and available balance without having to click on the account. My only complaint is not being able to view check images.
I’ve always had trouble learning how to use my cellphone. “But” the “GECU app” is so easy to use., it has so many great features, that makes it easy for me to use..,and i can just sitting here on my couch., pay all my bills and not worry about being late on payment. And it allows me to check my account any time of the day. I’m truly Very Satisfied..!!
GECU is the greatest place to do business with due to the staff, they are professionals and knowledgeable experts in all of what they do and is expected from the customer. Always polite, interested in the customer’s situation and taking care of us. I’ve been a member over 35 years and it just keeps getting better. I will never do business elsewhere. Thank you..
App has come a long way to make daily use a lot more functional for users! Transfers checking balances and making payments has never been easier. Would like to see some type of function to allow to send payments or Money from one GECU user to another.
I have accounts at two local credit unions and use the mobile app for both. GECU is far more user friendly. I love the more discrete swipe down quick view and the easier transfer and bill pay features.
It’s the best most user friendly app that exists. Account transfers are immediately available, I love this app. My account information is available immediately with real time updates. Makes it easy to monitor all of my transactions.
I’ve reviewed this app before and I am so sad to report that none of the bugs that were present before have been resolved. This app constantly crashes, doesn’t reflect current data, widget doesn’t work properly, and worst of all often shows an incorrect balance. I’m ready to leave GECU as a whole, simply because they can’t seem to figure out what they are doing. If I can’t trust them to make a functional app, why would I trust them with my money?
Nowhere and nobody can tell you at what time your direct deposit is going to show up. The bank holds your funds even when the money has been posted to the bank. Not sure why they do this but other banks post money right away. The day starts at 12 AM money should be posted in there but the bank holds funds until later the day of direct posit. not happy with the situation. Waiting for the bank to release funds in an emergency situation. Not too fond of this.
This has frustrated me to no end that I am unable to get Zelle to work on this app. For years since having the app I have never been able to use the Zelle feature which apparently only works on the app. All the other features work fine but not being able to use Zelle is frustrating
The new look when you go into a specific account is horrible. I wish they would’ve left it when it was broken down by dates and colors instead of lumping everything together.
Since using the app, I feel better able to mange my financial situation. The app always works great and hardly has any glitches which makes me feel even more comfortable with having GECU in charge of safe keeping my money.
The fact that we can deposit a check straight to our account via the mobile app from the safety of our homes is great during this trying time. Thank you.
I have this app on my phone and it works perfectly, I loaded the app on my I-pad and it works every now and then. I have dumped it at least 8 times and re loaded it just to get it to work. I did not have this problem when I used the app on my Mac, wife’s I-pad, my phone, her phone…… don’t understand why it’s just on my I-pad. Anyone else have a similar problem?
I love being able to control my accounts on my phone. Only small issue I have is that it takes an hour or so to reload and show my correct amounts. Other than that I love it!
So I needed my gym membership reimbursed for the year, and it was very simple to look up the gym’s name and get every charge from them for the year. However, this was not the case this year. Apparently, I can only see 6 months worth of transactions. Which is actual garbage. At least let me see/search through an entire year.
I don’t trust this bank anymore. Ive been with them for so many years and they’ve let me down a lot of times. I had to open a new account with another bank because this past time fraud happened on all my accounts with themes and they could care less about helping me out in getting my money back. I went in person and the same thing happened that i just needed to call the customer service people.
I love that you can do everything on the application! You can transfer money to all of your accounts, as well as to other people. My favorite part is that you can label your accounts. I LOVE GECU!!
I don’t know what I’d do without this app...I can literally do all my banking from my phone which super convenient. I am a very busy individual and appreciate the simplicity and convenience of this app. I’d give it 20 stars if it would let me.
So I tried to deposit a check on the app and have been waiting on it then this morning I got up and it says I’m unable to deposit checks and to contact some email, and my money still hasn’t gone through.
Love this app! Always checking my account on every other transaction and keeping track of my balances. Works great for me I’ve never had any type of problem and I would highly recommend the GECU app.... thanks!
The app itself works well enough for basic stuff and reviewing my accounts. I’m deeply disappointed with check writing in the Bill Pay tab! Why on earth can I not include a memo ? I need to be able to write a memo for the payees. For instance, I should be able to include on a memo line for lenders to know if the payment is either principle only a regular payment!!
Please keep having people that have pride actual business the way you have, making people feel good giving them all to go tonight is what you people do for El Paso thank you
Since having the app I haven’t figured out how to set up bill pay. This should be an easy feature on apps but I’m going to have to drive to the local branch to get assistance.
Review is for the app and not the bank. Don’t like the new update. Transaction history is no longer separating transactions by day and it is harder to read transactions.
I never had encountered any problems in the past. It was simple to log in and view my account. Unfortunately, ever since I did the new update I’ve been unable to log in and it keeps saying application error. I’m not sure what is the issue I have already deleted the program from my phone and reinstalling it but it keeps showing the same message.
My family has been with GECU since I was a young girl!! I’ll be 58 on my next birthday.. Hope that says something about the dignity of the establishment!!
My total end balance constantly changes. I will literally take screenshots of it and then in the next hour it’s a different amount even though the charges are exactly the same. Then you have the audacity to charge overdraft fees. Everyone that I know that has GECU has the exact same issue and complaint. 😡
Might be one of the worst and most archaic banking apps. Have the ability to see account transactions but cannot see the bank credit card transactions to review interest paid, interest rate, or other basic functions. And to offer only .025 interest on savings, please.
