Vice City Lives On!

Great port to mobile! My only gripe is I had a glitch after completing 30% of the game. For some reason the controls wouldn’t switch to regular walking mode after going to the hardware store. The controls were fine when driving cars but when walking it only had the left and right arrows and the purchase button. Nothing I could to would revert away from the store purchase mode. I tried dying, killing the hardware guy, buying from other stores, loading previously saved games, offloading the game and re downloading, and it still wouldn’t go back to normal. I eventually just straight up deleted everything and reinstalled and of course that worked. I made the mistake of not saving my game to the cloud slot otherwise I’d be good. So if this happens to you, save your game to the cloud slot, delete everything, and reinstall. Also save very frequently just in case. The other thing I wanted to ask that would make the game greater would be a dual analog option. That would be nice for driving so you can control your speed and braking much better. Maybe I am the only one that wants this? I just think it would make it better. Worth the money!

Vice City = Best

So, Gta Vice City is one of the most memorable and fun games out there. Although, It does have some bugs. First, Whenever you try to get one of the special cars from the sunshine autos and a police is nearby, You will get a police level when you enter the Deluxo, Sabre Turbo, Sandking, And Hotring Racer. So, if you could fix this, it would be good. Next, If you have the accelerometer on, and if you’re in a car, then in a mission or finished a mission, If you hit the gas, the car will uncontrollably go left for NO reason. Sure, you can turn it off to make it go away, but you could still fix this. Another thing is that the hitboxes of trees, (especially palm trees) are quite large, and the problem I have with that is that, When I land a helicopter, then try to fly it again, and the back rotor or the rotor above will get stuck. I sometimes push it about two in-game meters, but the hitbox still prevents me from flying it. So please fix this as well. But even though there are several bugs and more, GTA Vice City Is stil a great game. In the future you could maybe port more Rockstar games onto mobile.

Pretty solid and just like I remembered!

It’s April 12th, 2018 and with only about 2 hours of game time, I’d have to say that I’m pleased with the game. I’ve read of some freezing and so far the only “freezing” that happens is if I go to the options menu for more than 10 seconds, upon going back into the game it’ll take about 5 to 10 seconds to refresh and continue playing without any jumping after 10 more seconds. It’s pretty solid now. Fun game, just as I remember it being. The controls are surprisingly simple and mostly easy to use. You can even change the controls in the settings, to include button placement completely customizable with an ability to resize any control button. My only suggestion would be to immerse yourself into the game for a while at a time to prevent possible permanent freezing when going back into the game. I did so probably 5 times and the last time I did so, checking a message on my phone, going back into the game it froze completely. Other than that, it’s a great game! Enjoy!

It’s the full game on your phone!

It’s the full game, it really is. Hidden packages, rampages, side missions, everything. The on screen controls are fully customizable, you can adjust the size and location. It took a while for me to get used to them but it’s not that difficult. It’d probably be better with a controller. I have the iPhone XS with the latest OS and have not had any issues with crashing as others have reported. I’ve even left the app open overnight and I picked up right where I left off. One new thing is if you fail a mission, a prompt will ask if you want to try again. It’ll start you over so you don’t have to drive back to the guy. But, anything you collected (hidden packages or whatever) will be reset also. When you die or get busted, you keep your weapons! That’s new, and very nice. Not sure if you can cheat on here, haven’t tried yet. Overall I’m very happy I spent the $5 on this.

Game is good gta is always a good game

This game is good although it is a little buggy the controls are some what messed up and turning is very hard. Another thing is that my cars are automatically turning right or left only by a little bit. Kinda like Walmart shopping carts. But the story is good although the graphics are not the best but it is expected because this game is very old. Another thing that isn’t a problem with the mobile version but just the game is that the vehicles damage very easy. This is not very ideal since the driving is very very very hard. Since the driving is hard I tried connecting my old Xbox controller and thought the driving would be easier and maybe have the same settings as gta 5 (v). Not at all I also couldn’t change the settings to make them better which was not very ideal since the settings are horrendous. But overall I would give the game a 4/5 since it is still a classic gta game with a wonderful story. But I still do like gta 5 story a lot more.

GTA at its finest

Even years later, this title still holds up as an amazing game. Sure, the mechanics aren’t perfect from the era, but once I rearranged my screen(iPad pro 15”) i was very pleased and felt it was close enough to how I played back in the day. The voice acting is tremendous here with lead Ray Liotta as Tommy Vercetti. Following with greats like Burt Reynolds, Luis Guzman, Danny Trejo, Gary Busey, even somebody like Jenna Jamison shows up. It’s funny how I find myself playing the missions exactly how I did it when I originally played the hell out of this game. Hitting all the familiar spots for health and armor along the way. The last thing I will mention, that I love about this game compared to other Grandtheft autos in the franchise, is the media attention in the stats. If you never knew about this check it out, and then go kill as many people as possible and see what you can do. Search online if you want to find out what each tier takes.

Several bugs to be fixed!

I give this game 4 stars for being pretty faithful to the 2002 original. However, there are bugs that need to be fixed. Firstly, sometimes when I get into a car, he camera doesn't move with it, and stays at the place that I got in the car. I can fix this by pressing the POV button when you are in a car, though. I still would like this fixed. Secondly, sometimes when I resume a certain save file, the game remains on a black screen and I have to reenter the game. I do this, only for the black screen to happen again on the same save file. Thirdly, there are times when I shoot my gun in a car, and it won't shoot. Only one shot will work, and the gun will stop working. Fourthly, sometimes in general after a few shots, the gun doesn't shoot anymore. Don't know if this is intentional or if the original did the same. Fifthly, if a car explodes and the screen gets a shaky effect, sometimes it keeps shaking, even minutes after the explosion. Sixthly, when I drive a car up a ramp and the game goes into a slo-mo mode, the camera never goes back to the car and the game is still in slo-mo speed. A lot of issues to be fixed. Fix these, and I will give 5 stars. Thx you.

Not optimized for iPad Pro 12.9”

This game is awesome the only problem is the controls aren’t optimized for the iPad Pro 12.9” which is a huge bummer if you bought this game and then realized that the buttons aren’t at the corners of the screen but instead the middle. Please fix this because it used to be optimized but the newest updates changed that. This is my favorite game out of the trilogy and I wish that I can play the game without having to extend my fingers to the middle of the screen. Edit: So I have done more research about the screen controls not being optimized to my iPad and I realized that there is a way to change where the buttons are. The problem is that that area also isn’t optimized for the iPad Pro. Rockstar needs to make it so you can resize that to the correct dimensions. Even if you delete the app and redownload it. The buttons still won’t be optimized for the 12.9” screen.

Full Screen Horrible

Why did you change this? My directional buttons on the left are tucked underneath my phone’s unibrow, the gas/break cluster also too far left Full screen mode would be great if you would put the buttons back where my thumbs THINK they are. This game has been a nuisance to play since the fullscreen migration, and I don’t enjoy playing it anymore. My left thumb keeps landing in between the two directional buttons, even caused me to start a new game by mistake losing the progress made since my last save. Unless this just happened to my version, I can’t believe you would release it like this. I’m not a gamer but I would imagine that thumb memory is important. Please, please consider putting them back in place.

A faithful mobile version to the orginal

GTA Vice City is cool in the sense that it is great to be able to play a game formerly only for consoles on your phone. The controls are good for a mobile game, and the depth of the gameplay exceeds most other games on the App Store. However, the game as a standalone product is clunky and frustrating. For example, the camera is horrible and you can’t move it while entering/exiting a vehicle. Aiming a weapon is awful. Cars handle worse than GTA III. And some parts of the map feel “abandoned” or just poorly thought out. In my opinion after playing the game, Vice City is the weakest of the 3D-era entries. Bad camera movement, clunky aiming and a map with a lot of wasted space are qualities too severe to ignore. That being said, for a mobile game on the App Store it is a pretty good deal and overall fun to play.

Great game, but ridiculously glitchy!

I really wanted to enjoy this game, but get far enough into it and the game becomes very glitchy and choppy. I got to the mission “Cop Land” and had to restart it at least 5 times to get the game to stop freezing every second. After that the experience got so bad that anything else I did afterwards would just do the exact same thing. This is off my iPhone 7 BTW so it may work for you. But what’s the deal here? It’s a wonderful game that you can’t even play, but I guess this company’s too invested in making unreasonably priced cars in GTA Online than properly optimizing their games. I like how the game would operate without overheating the phone, but I really think they could’ve done better. And what I hate about this is they know they could’ve done better too. At this point it’s been three days in and I honestly think I should get my money back knowing they probably don’t care to optimize this. Such a shame since I really looked forward to playing this.

Grand Best Auto

I personally think that this is the best GTA game in the franchise. This game has free roam, 80's nostalgia, and a great storyline. This game has what a lot of other games lacked back in the early 2000's. I really hope that games today will have a great impact on the upcoming games to be released, like this game did with games today. My only complaint about this games is the control style. I know that a lot of other people would say that the graphics are outdated, but I don't think that a game should be based on its graphics, it's based on it's impact it has on the player. I really hope that Rockstar Games will keep trying to improve the gaming industry. Overall I give this game 9/10. It is a great game and if you have never played and you're an open minded person I strongly suggest to give this game a try.

Waste of money.

I don’t know what rockstars idea of “logical or lifelike” is but it’s not this game. Let’s take a couple thing into account. You can’t swim. When you are hiding from the cops the helicopters lights shine threw overhangs. Cops guns shoot threw walls, rooms over miles. I do not think you fully thought the design of this game. It takes literally nothing to kill you. But jumping off a roof haha. You can jump off the highest roof and not die. All in all the game was not good. The story line sucked, the gameplay was so spotty it was unbelievable. The ethics of this game really make no sense I can get slammed into by a cop car and get slung across the road, take that cop car and it blow up the first thing I hit. Rockstar made sure to make it to where the character WOULD NOT stand up after jumping out the car. I was really disappointed. I think I could do a better job with this game myself and I have no experience in game design.

So many BUGS!!!

I have been playing it for several weeks now and i have had to delete the app and download it again many times. The game is really fun. Brings back many childhood memories but the bugs just aggravate me. I want to finish buying the trilogy but dont want to waste my money if the bugs dont get fixed. I cant jump out of a car on fire like in the console game, after shooting the pistol or shot gun many times it doesnt shoot anymore, it has many glitches and lags way too much. I am up to Love Fist concert where the psycho shoots the guard and it just freezes there. Before this one when i first downloaded the game it wouldnt finish the missions it would just end at the point after all the Haitian, Cuban and love fist missions finish. The last mission is killing Lance and whatever other missions before that i dont get. It needs to be fixed first so i can decide on buying the trilogy.

Implausibly terrible frame rate (Update request)

Ever since I’ve bought this game and it was my last resort for entertainment and anxiety curtailments, but sadly stumbled across a really fazing issue. I’m playing the game on an iPad Pro, and the frame is capped at 30, and what’s more exacerbating is the unalloyed fact that it sometimes drops to 20 or 15 over the course of Apple updates, completely emblazoning the game with lag, on iPad Pro with M1 chip and 128GB with over 110GB storage present (No pun intended). What’s even more annoying is the fact that we can’t disable the frame limiter through the settings, like seriously how we can enjoy the game if we have to fight with it? For the 5$ I paid, I want a new update in which the game is set to run at 60fps.

Favorite of the bunch!

Let us be honest, GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas are some of the funniest games to play, and being able to carry with them on your mobile phone is just mind-blowing. This particular game is one of my favorite PS2 titles, and despite some issues this version it may have, I can not complain. Reviving such an experience is awesome, and while the controls get a bit confusing at times (specially if it’s your first time playing one of these mobile versions), you get used to them within a couple of minutes. While Vice City is not my favorite entry of the saga, it definitely is in this mobile adaptations. You just can't seem to stop impressing me, Rockstar Games...

Missing GTA Vice City Stories

This GTA game is pretty cool but I really feel like we are missing GTA Vice City Stories. I really would like if you added GTA Vice City Stories on mobile because I think GTA Vice City Stories was a great game with the story and the side missions such as taking over the gang business structures. I even finished GTA Vice City Stories and it was pretty good. I’ve noticed you’ve added GTA Liberty City Stories to mobile but I just don’t like it. I’ve played it and it simply doesn’t feel the same. It does have cool features but I don’t like the story. I would absolutely love if you added GTA Vice City Stories. GTA Vice City Stories has a 16th anniversary right now.

Amazing game, but one problem

I would like to rate this game 5-stars because it’s very fun, but recently when the game was loading for me to play, it crashed. I refreshed the game and tried to load the game again, but it keeps crashing and crashing. I’ve tried to restart my device, but it still crashes. I offloaded the app (because I didn’t want to lose its data) and re-installed it again but when the game was loading, it crashed again! Please fix this problem. I am desperate to play the game again because it is an amazing game. It has been 2 days since the crashing problem occurred. I hope you’ll see this, Rockstar. And if you do, thanks for reading and please fix this problem right away.

The game play is amazing for an IOS version.

The game is great. It brings me back like when I used to play on the Play Station console. My only issue right now is I paid for this game and it sometimes freezes during game play and then resumes. It crashed on me a fee seconds ago but I can still log back in and play where I left off. Other than the game play seconds freezes, the game is perfect. Controls are easy to use all around. Now I’m experiencing that it won’t play the game anymore. It will show the R and everything else, but when I hit resume game or load my save game. It will just suddenly crash and go back to my home screen.

Great port! Pair your PS4 controller!

Honestly, the game itself hasn’t aged well. But that’s probably we’ve been accustomed to newer games better control options. BUT once you’ve got your controller paired and rewired your brain to remember the buttons (look it up online, I couldn’t find the button layout for controllers in game) the game is tons of fun and nostalgic. Takes me back to playing the game with my high school friends blowing up cars with the tank. The entire soundtrack is there and that too takes me back. I don’t recall some of the missions being as hard as they are but with the controller they’re a little easier but the controls themselves are still a bit clunky. Nonetheless it’s fun game to play while in self quarantine

Only fun if you are nostalgic for the game.

I did not play GTA vice city as a child, so I decided to give it a try on my iPhone XR. The controls are clunky and awkward, as any game originally made for a controller would be on a smartphone. The story is not extremely original or engaging, relies on many 1980s tropes and stereotypes. The gameplay itself is entertaining enough but it will bore you if you have ever played anything like GTA 5 or Saints Row 4. You can beat up random prostitutes, but they don’t always fight back or act receptive to your provocations. Combat is awkward and not very fun, suffice to say. Overall, the game is fun enough to keep you occupied for 35 minutes or so in a waiting room but I can only really see this game as appealing if the buyer had played it before many years ago and is nostalgic for it.

A classic

Vice City is an undisputed classic GTA, with its own self contained personality far distinct from all of the others in the series. My favorite GTA - and the iOS version actually has some features which make the game more manageable than the original, such as replaying failed mission with the click of a button rather than having to make your way to the mission start point over and over on your own. Also the lock on for aiming seems more automated and in most cases this helps but can be frustrating if you can't lock onto a specific target. Overall a classic, somehow miraculously preserved for the iPhone.

Very enjoyable and time consuming game!!

The only problem is the controls but the good thing is you can adjust the buttons and make them bigger or smaller. I’ve never played vice city and I thought I should give it a try and I don’t regret it! This game works well if you have a ps4 controller and you connect it to your phone just like San Andreas on mobile! The story is very interesting and the gameplay is very good. These gta games are the most fun mobile games in the App Store as there aren’t many GOOD games like these. But this game isn’t for everyone and not every game is perfect especially mobile ports but overall if you’ve played older gta games this is for you.

Great game just an odd platform

The game itself is great, it’s a classic. Being adapted to an iPhone is the strange part that takes away from the enjoyment. Makes me want to go find my old ps2 and play the game properly. The analog stick simulator is hard to get used to, makes it hard to be precise while driving or attacking people. Another problem is you can’t change the radio stations. Lastly you can’t use cheat codes. Despite all of that it’s still very enjoyable to pull it up to kill 10 minutes and the load times are much faster than on the ps2. Lol. It’s definitely worth the small price and hassle to relive one of my favorite games right on my phone. For that I’ll give it 4 stars.

iPhone SE - Just STOPS

So I wanted to get the bundle of GTA games but I figured I would just get one to see how playable it was and how it ran on my phone. Turns out I made a good decision by buying 1 for $5 instead of wasting $25. After completing a few missions, I am now at the mission Riot, where you start a riot for Avery and have to blow up the trucks. Well, after blowing them up, the arrows overhead are still there, with shadows of the vehicles, and the game still allows me to get inside them and sit there. The mission is impossible to pass because of this. So, I figured I’d do another one, Road Kill, the first mission where you go to a pay phone and follow instructions. The game just completely closes after the name of the mission shows. So, can I get my money back or what? Why is my SE not capable of running this, but others who have an iPhone 6 have no issue? Pretty disappointed to say the very least. Loved it at first, but to be stopped dead in your tracks due to compatibility is the most annoying thing I can think of. It’s bad enough we can’t enter cheats. Now I can’t even play through the story. All I can safely do is run around and tear the world up with my whole $700 and 2 weapons.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

I bought this game because I had a problem with the original GTA. There was a glitch where it would not let me resume my game that I had spent hours on! I started a new file bc the game was so much fun, and then after hours of playing, the EXACT SAME THING happened to the new file (this is for the GTA original)! I love this game because it is so much fun, and after countless hours of playing, I left the game and came back, and to my frustration, it would not let me play my saved game! I have tried resetting my iPad, and restarting the app, and updating my system, but I still cannot resume my game!!! I have spent hours on this game and I do not want to delete the app and lose all of my progress, but what is the freaking point when I can't even play what I have spent HOURS achieving!! I have spent money on this game and the original and it is a HUGE WASTE!!!!!

Welcome back to Vice City

This game is amazing. I loved playing it on the PS2, and I love it on mobile. I compare it to GTA 5, and yes, the graphics are quite pathetic, but thinking about when this was made, this is a historical gaming monument. Vice City is an amazing open world, and the writing is perfect 80’s mafia story. Sonny Forelli and his hold on liberty city is strong, but vice city is just out of reach. He sends Tommy Vercetti to the city after getting him out of jail, and tells him to take hold on the city. But they are ambushed, so Sonny tells Tommy to get his money back, “Or Else!” Tommy’s story revolves around money, drugs, and power. This is truly an amazing game.

GTA Vice City

I love this game! GTA Vice City is the first Grand Theft Auto that I ever played, and I was really excited when I found out this game was released for iOS! The game obviously controls a little different(as opposed to playing it with a controller) but obviously it’ll feel different. Something I love about the iOS release is that the game doesn’t put you in first-person mode whenever you want to look around. I will admit that the game can be challenging to play on say an iPod or an iPhone, and honestly the best way to play it would be on an iPad, but that doesn’t mean the game isn’t still playable. I love it! 5/5

Pure crap

The program designers made aspects of this game nearly impossible and redundant. I purchased with the intent of having a random and open experience, not having my options limited by the programmers idea of enjoyment for themselves. If I pay them money, they don’t get that right, they sold that right. I expect to be able to play as I wish without having my paid for product limited due to a programmer’s idea of what they I should and should not be doing. When I pay for something, I expect to get everything I paid for. The designers intentionally limit the games attributes despite having been paid in full. This game will make you jump through hoops and then some to be able to unlock all the attributes that you should be able to get it you properly paid for this program. As I stated prior, this is pure crap.

game bugged and i cant play now

idk where to write this, but when i do Publicity Tour mission it bugs out bad each restart and when i completed the mission correctly it would say i failed and all of the buttons disappear and i have to close out the game. idk what to do :( the whole mission is messed up and i thought passing it would end the problem. love having this on mobile though. update: i declined the mission and i still hear lovefist talk and it restarts the mission after their lines end, and when i tried to take a different mission the game crashed ,so i guess the game is done for me now, cuz now the app crashes in seconds each time i try to open :(

Controller access needed!

Reminds me of Playing on the PS2, except it’s on my Pinole phone now! But since I no longer have a PlayStation 2 and this is the only way I can play the game I would love to be able to have controller support now that IOS 13 has it. I hook it up to my tv from time to time and while I’m home it’ll make gameplay so much easier and since it’s a single player game there’s no worries of advantages over another player! So I feel think, and I’m sure many others agree, that controller support is a must have for a classic game such as this. And if y’all do bring controller support to the GTA mobile titles I will definitely be downloading the other games!

Practically unplayable on newer iOS devices

The game itself is great. Unfortunately Rockstar seems to have abandoned these iOS ports to their detriment. And for whatever reason GTA III and Vice City perform miserably on devices newer than the iPhone 7 (the iPad Pro included, which I bought with the partial intention of playing these games on). The games freeze multiple times per minute, many times for three or more seconds at a time, making gameplay almost impossible. I’ve tried force quitting all other apps, rebooting prior to play, turning off Low Power Mode, turning on Limit Refresh Rate, turning off True Tone, and nothing seems to make these perform like on my old iPad Air or iPhone 7. Please fix these, Rockstar. And buyers beware unless you’re using an older iOS device.

Nostalgic Gold in 2019

Here because the app asked me to, figure it's the least I can do as a loyal consumer of most things Rockstar... For those of us that were at the right place in time when GTA III/Vice City were released, the gameplay will be way better than you remembered it this time around. I'd even recommend it to the new generation, even though we're more accustomed to PS4, etc. But, if you're looking for something entertaining and immersive on the cheap,this is a great game to have on your phone if you find yourself stuck somewhere and bored for any given amount of time.

Best mobile game on the App Store; although driving is hard

Everything in this game is amazing, the story, the map, the characters, cars, planes, boats, and missions. The only complaint is that every other car (which is non damaged) pulls to the right or left depending on what car it is. Can be really annoying when your chasing a objective, when your car suddenly spins out and pulls you into obstacles. Fix this tiny tiny tiny issue and this would be the greatest game of all time. Other than that, it’s great fun, keep it up rockstar!

Really good tough mechanics

I love this game it's really the mechanics are fun to play. The challenge is very spot on when you die you restart the chapter but since their not that long the game doesn't really feel like it's been sadistic. The game allows to choose your own approach with each mission while using the open world. The characters a funny and unique never clique. But the game has some bugs a the driving can be very floaty. But it's still a good game I give it 10/10 it's not perfect but very good. It's legendary and one of the best games today that holds up compared to modern titles.

Nostalgia

It’s brings back a great game and brings it into modern time while allowing you to play on your mobile device. The only part I’m upset about is that every time I do the mission at somewhere in the beginning of the game where you have to “get to the pay phone outside the mall in Washington”, I go to the pay phone and it starts the mission but the app crashes. I’ve tried clearing up space (10GB), force stopping the app, closing all the other apps, turning my phone on and off and I’ve done a hard reset, all to no avail! I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could fix this. If you do it’ll be a 5 star rating from me.

Amazing Classic Game But....

This is an amazing game and I love playing it. It is the only GTA game on my phone that wont crash other than GTA 3. I have a few suggestions. Maybe you could add a little bit more events and updates to the game. Like an online or something. Also, can you please add like a place where you could go and buy cars, I mean I have the Car Showroom and have a free racecar but I think that you should do that. I know that some people disagree with my ideas because it would take away the old classic feel to the game so maybe add an option that allowes you to play classic or play new and improved. Well, it boots

The game runs on M1 Max, and it's possible to play it, but it's not pleasant. The iPad versions of the GTA games were designed around a mobile-specific control concept, where on-screen buttons and on-screen joysticks allow two-handed touch control. It worked okay on the devices themselves. It does not permit keyboard or actual controller use, however. You have to click to create an onscreen joystick, and then use it with the mouse to move. The other action buttons are on the other side of the screen, so it's a bit worse than trying to play the iPad version one-handed. None of the compatibility settings in the system wrapper make any difference to it, even though they seem fairly well thought out, and the game itself is listed in the App Store as being great on M1 Macs. I've played a few others that were more usable than this. Maybe don't feature this game in that section until it gets updated to permit controller use or keyboard control. It's not worth spending money on if you don't have it already.

Its alright

I never done a review for a game but this needs to be addressed especially if we are coming out of pocket for a game. First off why isnt the rain drop on the screen when it rains or when driving a boat a thing on mobile? Its minor details like that which makes the game stand out second some of the clothes doesnt save after a cut scene you go back to wearing the teal Hawaiian shirt dont know why that happens. The games driving is eefff compared to san Andreas and one more thing cars spawning late when im driving and the always seem to get out their cars to look at a hit pedestrian which is almost every car on the road such a weird bug makes the game unplayable sometimes idk its minor bugs that can make the game a whole lot better.

Best GTA game to this day

Vice city will and always is the best GTA game there is. But that's on ps2 because the app game doesn't allow cheat codes and it glitches way to much there controls don't work well on iPad and when I have to pass the helicopter picking up bombs mission doesn't work cause camera won't shift to see where I'm going. It's impossible to pass this mission on iTunes but I've passed it on a ps2 and Xbox before many times. So I can imagine how much harder it would be to pass harder missions on this app. But good game to play if I'm not home and bored! Best ITunes game I've played by far.

Broken volume

I recently purchased and downloaded grand theft auto vice city. This version was for my iPhone and the volume don’t work or play through the game. Im hoping someone sees this and helps me fix the problem. Not a bad game to be played on my smart phone. I’m not a big fan of the controls either to be played on the touch screen. It becomes very difficult to control the character Shoot,Drive,and Walk or Run. Does anyone have any suggestions or a solution to the problem please help.

Game crash before loading

This game was perfectly fine until about today because whenever I try to play the game it gets to the loading screen about 5% away from being done then it will crash and put me into my home screen so if this could be fixed then that would be good also because I paid like $5 for this game they better fix this please and thank you also I just tried turning off my phone and all this other stuff and it still not working so rockstar please fix this!! I wouldn't care if it was free but I paid like $5 like I said earlier so just fix this please

GTA vice city

It’s a great game this has always been my favorite GTA game since it was the first one I’ve ever played when I started playing GTA its great on the phone there’s just some things I wish you guys could add when fighting none of the civilians say anything how they do on the ps2 they usually have a smart comment they say also when walking or running and you press the attack button the punches don’t do any damage you are virtually swinging at mid air so if that’s all possible to fix I would really appreciate it thank you again I love the game

Just like I remembered

I’m giving 4 stars because the game doesn’t seem like it has changed at all since it was first released in 2002. My only issue is that it’s not optimized to run on a phone. The controls are a little awkward at first, and sometimes they make it difficult to do missions I’d fly through on a PS2. Another issue is that after about 10 minutes of playing the game begins to stutter. I’m playing on an iPhone X, the supposedly most powerful iPhone, and it can’t run a game from 2002? Restarting the program helps, but when you’re in the middle of a mission it’s very inconvenient.

Great except for...

Rockstar did an overall fantastic job in porting this game to iOS except for one major thing. The driving physics. Terrible terrible terrible. Imagine driving an RC car on ice covered in KY jelly and snot and this is what you get. Regardless of what car you have if you get the slightest bump from even a scooter you go spinning wildly. The PS2 version of this game had totally different physics for the cars than this version. I "borrowed" an ambulance to get away from Barney Fife and a stupid scooter ran into the side and the ambulance did a 360 and had chunks flying off. It's hard to enjoy this game when the driving is so difficult. Please fix in update. I will give 5 stars.

Exactly what I was hoping for

If you can spare the fee or have a gift card to burn through, this game is worth the money. I've had no problems with crashing, and the gameplay is a pretty solid and faithful reproduction of the PS version. Sometimes the sound cuts out if I leave the game running in the background unattended for a while, but I have no complaints otherwise, and that is a relatively minor complaint in the grand scheme of things. Looking forward to trying out San Andreas. Great work! Very satisfied customer here.

Vice City

Sorry to say that I’m very disappointed.. After playing and beating San Andreas I thought Vice City gameplay and graphics would be the same. The graphics are horrible as everything loads while your driving unlike in San Andreas.. The controls and movement are just horrible idk why it’s so different from San Andreas it’s crazy!!! It’s so bad that I can’t even play it. All the buildings and neon lights that are supposed to bring the game alive look horrible!!! 2 stars and that’s being NICE!! I’m playing on an IPhone 6plus so there is no reason for it to be playing so bad either.. Listen to me when I say San Andreas is the best GTA on mobile. GTA 3 not so bad but Vice City they messed up bad somehow it’s a shame as Vice City was my favorite GTA growing up!!!

Frame drops on 7 Plus 11.3.1

When this was first released, it ran great on the hardware of the time. iPad 2, 4S. It’s ridiculous than on a much more powerful device with an 10 Fusion and much stronger GPU, that frames are dropping like crazy on a game from 2002. I even bought the PS4 PSN version to play the game properly with a controller again but that emulated port is a total mess. I guess if I ever want to play this game again properly, I will have to buy a PS2 again or play it on PC. Such a shame since this is my favorite GTA of them all but it really is a chore to play on iOS and gaming should never feel this way.

Fun but clumsy as heck

The game is an okay port of the classic, all things considered - but the controls and the graphics have some pretty aggravating issues. The draw distance on my iPhone 8+ is horrific, if you drive any fast car you’re guaranteed to have cars and even BUILDINGS pop up and screw you over, sending your car flying into space (the driving physics are also crap). Maybe it’s just me, but the “joystick” is very buggy and difficult to use with any precision - if you plan on walking on a dock or any ledge near water, good luck. I considered giving it two stars, but I’ve been playing it pretty regularly, so I must be having fun I guess
