Great Clips - Great App
We have been using this very helpful app since it came out. It does what it was designed to do and does it well without a bunch of advertising or other junk. It has seen numerous improvements over the years. It is very convenient to be able to check in and know how much time I have to run other errands before my scheduled time. The text updates is one of the best improvements made recently. A couple of features I would like to see in a future update: 1 - The ability to track coupons via the app. I regularly get them in the mail or on the back of my receipt but like many people lose them before they can be used which is a bummer. 2 - to be able to review the name of the stylist and their notes about the cut for the last couple of visits. The stylist usually prints the notes from the receipt printer (I think) to review the notes left by the last stylist. It would be helpful to know what one stylist did on one cut and then what another did that would make the cut even better. Plus I have a terrible memory for names so when a stylist does a great job I forget their name and can’t ask for him or her on the next visit. It’s a great app that performs it function perfectly every time I have used it which is at least once a month or more for many years!!

Pitiful if your blind
Its pathetic that I as a blind person cannot use the app because of how poorly created it is. I should not need a sighted person helping me every time "I want to make an appointment" On "MY PHONE!" Please, will someone hire some blind people with apple devices and have them beta test this with voiceover? If you don't know what I'm talking about, settings>General>Accessibility>Voiceover. Or, Just ask Siri to turn on Voiceover. Its an accessible feature for the blind and low vision that allows someone like myself, to write a poor review on apps like this that lack a lot from mislabeled buttons to not even having the check-in button anywhere within reading range of my phones accessibility features to pick up when I'm moving my finger across the screen. Not trying to rip into yall, but too many businesses make excuses as to why they don't make things available for everyone including the blind. Too much money, would ruin the layout... I'll just say this now. Its cheep. Also, theres ways of doing it that will not kill your layout. There is a lot of blind folks out there who are computer programmers who work along with sighted computer programmers, especially at Apple. Look at a lot of apples products for a day with your eyes closed, and just using voiceover on your iPhones. Now, do the same thing with your app and you'll see what I mean. Please, I beg of you to fix this.

Great service but app needs some tweaking
I have visited the same salon for years, but only recently started using the app. I don’t know if it’s saving me time or mostly saving them time, but one thing that is desperately needed is a way to request a specific stylist. In our case, it would be helpful to AVOID a specific stylist who was horrible to my young son, made him cry, flatly refused to read or replicate his previous haircut instructions and instead grabbed a pair of clippers and shaved massive amounts of hair off before I jumped up to stop her. She was extremely rude to me when I was nothing but pleasant to her, even as she was condescending and argumentative. There needs to be an option to select “first available” if a customer doesn't care who cuts their hair or a drop down list (of each stylist working at that time) so customers can request to wait for one in particular. We won’t be back until that function or option is available because I value my family’s well-being and intentionally inflicting trauma on them isn’t ok. Great Clips might operate on the idea that “anyone can do it” but the truth when dealing with the uncertainty of human attitudes and abilities is that not everyone will.

Multiple numbers/wait time max out
Love the app! Just a foot note...sometimes I check in with my friends/family and they have different numbers...when we check in, we have to have some one put at the bottom of the list, (the comp asks for one number and assumes we have the same accounts) however the stylists do a wonderful job of honoring my friend’s spot, the only bad part is that other customers don’t know that my friends checked In with me. Is there a way you guys can revamp either the app or the computer system to prompt the stylist for another number so that this issue can be less of a hassle? When the wait time is maxed out is there a way for the app to say walk in only. What it says now it’s too confusing for some people. Also is there a way to notify people when the time goes up for lunch and end of day. Or adjust some how before we get our text to let us know that the salon is running behind. It very miss leading to us consumers that we’ve been in the waiting list 2+ hours and still have to wait longer cause the stylists punching out. Thank you for your time!

Convenient for the customer?
I have used the GC app perhaps since it was originally introduced. I’ve never really had a problem, as I always tend to go when things are slower. Tried the updated app today and observed a 35 min wait time. I opted for the text notification and waited at home for 10 mins only to find the wait was now 39 mins. So, I decided to drive to the store since my guess was that people arriving at the store were getting placed in front of me in the queue. Checked in and was told the wait was 35 mins though my app said 21 mins. Suggestion: the queue should adjust based upon a person’s check-in time on either the app or in store. If one checks in online at 4 but arrives at the store at 4:15 (before their estimated time) they should be in the queue before someone who checks into the store at 4:05 (in-store check-in vs online check-in). The restaurants seems to have this down but not this app. I understand that shifts change, things take longer/shorter than expected, but someone shouldn’t end up waiting an hour when the estimated wait time is 35 mins at check-in.

App is for Great Clips benefit, not customers
The app leads you to believe you are putting a place holder for your spot in line prior to arrival… This is not the case. Your place in line starts when you arrive so if there was no one in line when you signed in and an estimated “zero” minutes wait time, unfortunately, nine times out of ten when you arrive five mins later, the store is packed and the wait time is just short of an hour. This has happened the past seven visits for me. When asking the store about it, they pretty much just say it’s to let them know how many people are coming in so no stylist leaves early and that your place in line only begins when you arrive… So what is the point then other than corporate data collection vailed as a customer convenience? I found it better to just arrive, sign in, and not be mislead by Great Clips into thinking this is some form of place holder, reservation, or even a convenience to help customers save time. It’s simply a data collection for Great Clips and nothing more. Anyone who believes other wise should pay attention to their next visit.

Need to know who is currently working. Need to check on a stylist to see when she/he will be working in the upcoming week. Appreciate your response It is nice to see a business that cares for their employees security even if it’s at the expense of customer loyalty. I as a person who every 6 weeks goes on to get a haircut with a part-time stylist, who I’ve seen for years now, finds your system less than user friendly. First, I have to call in and speak with the stylist to see when my person is working today, if not now then when? Next I have to determine which day works best for me. Finally, I have to call in and register in. Next I have to go in and regardless of my position on the appointment listing, wait till I am next up when my stylist become available. HARDLY, user friendly. Thanks for listening and since I programmed for a living a user friendly option for my situation could be made.

Stylist selection
I wish that when I sign into this app. I could also see what stylist are working at that time . And be able to to select the stylist of my choice. I’m someone that once I find a stylist that I like. I will chose them ever time. Sports clips app offers this type of service. But unfortunately there stylist turn around is constantly. And as soon as you find someone that does a good cut. They are either transferred or have quit. My friend had been going to Great Clips for years and has had the same stylist forever. That’s what had brought me to your location. And I have to say I was so happy with my service, and that when I asked how long my stylist had been working there. She told me for the last 4 years . I was sold , if you could only add that option to your app. You would dominate the hair cut industry.

Service
I have been going to the Winchester store since they opined. Prior to that I went to the location in Tullahoma next to Peebles. At BOTH locations I was ALWAYS greeted when I walked in, and told about how long the wait would be. The wait was NEVER longer than I was told when I arrived. I have gotten to know several stylists over the years and we keep up to date on events and families during visits. I LOVE the app and the convenience of checking in. I wish there was a way of knowing what stylists are working that day. There are a couple that I have gotten to know but they are off when I come in. I understand there may be a safety issue with posting names. It would just be nice if I could go when my favorites are there. However, EVERYONE is friendly and professional. I wouldn't think of going to a different salon. {{{ GREAT JOB EVERYONE }}}

Is it the app’s fault or the store?
I checked in through the app given a 50min wait time and also signed up for text alerts when it’s supposed to be a 15min wait and to come in the lobby. I got that text at 1:51 PM and headed into the lobby where I was told the wait should be 15min unless people that signed up ahead of me showed up then it’d be much longer. Those people did show up and now it’s 2:26 PM still waiting in the lobby. The whole point of this app for me, and most, is to save time by signing up through the app and not having to wait more than 15 minutes in a Great Clips lobby at the mall. Im not sure what or who initiates the text for the warning, but it’s sure not accurate or helpful at all. This is the second time I've had something like this happen now and before I just didn't have the extra unplanned time to wait, so I had to lave without a haircut and a loss of time. Hopefully this can be fixed, but until then this will be the last time I go through Great Clips (app or store).

Pointless-Just check in online.
Made an account, password and email don’t work to sign into their website, thus I can’t adjust if they sell my information. So I made the account on the ap, within the ap I tap “don’t sell my information” it forwarded me to the website and asked me to sign in. I used the exact password and email. Typed it out twice. It said “the email and password you used don’t match any account. Please try again“. It only gave me 3 more attempts, I tried once again and it still wouldn’t take the password and email. My phone saved them so I knew they were correct. Either way, the second time I tried to type it carefully to be sure an error wasn’t made. After that, two attempts. Guess they’ll be selling my info as I am unable to change this. Assuming the developers will comment “If you would like to explain more, email us here”. No need to explain more. I’ve given you a step by step of how it doesn’t work well. You should allow people to adjust how you sell or use their information rather than giving the option and then not allowing it.

Pretty Good - Room for improvement
5/5 - Ease of use. The map makes it super easy to find a location, along with an accurate wait time, and will even text you when you’re about up. These features easily make this app 4 stars. Room for improvement: it would be nice to see what stylist is working at each location along with experience and maybe length of employment(optional) to help enforce confidence. If nothing else, people who like to have a specific stylist to cut their hair would greatly appreciate that feature rather than either calling to find out which takes time from the stylist or walking in when scheduling an appointment and find out that way. Other than that and the various little bugs (when reminder pops up and asks to remind you in 3 weeks doesn’t ever work), which is annoying, but easy to dismiss. Wonderful app overall.

Change App option when store is about to close, please
I love love love love Great Clips. Been going to them for over 20 years now. The very first time I ever had a negative experience with staff happened last week after the app told me that “we’re sorry for the inconvenience, the online check in not available right now.” I thought maybe I just need to go in person since there is still 45 minutes before the store closes. When I entered the store, I was treated unkindly by staff. Yet, I have them grace since perhaps I might’ve been the 100th person walking through the door to check in. It’s weird. I tried the online check in when there was 45 minutes before closing. Then the staff unkindly said “it’s less than 30 minutes before we close so you can’t check in now.” This is about two things: the app and the unkind behavior from staff. I called GC twice before I finally got a supervisor to return my calls. I am using this as an opportunity for growth for everyone involved. Especially since the supervisor told me they wish the app can explain why we can’t check in, instead of leaving it to staff to talk to people when they walk in. Supervisor is going to talk to staff about being kinder in this area. I’m doing my part to help GC. I hope the app developers add an explanation so save clients the drive and the staff to explain. Thank you.

Convenient Clever Clips
I really like the Great Clips app! It tells you how many people are “in line” and it’s cool they actually show you who is in the Salon and who isn’t. They save your haircut style in their database so I can go to any location and they already know how I want my haircut?!? What?!? That’s so awesome! Great Clips is very Convenient, they are pretty Clever in the way they note your past haircuts, they have the best clippers in the business! I really rely on a quick haircut when I need one, these guys know what they are doing! Every location I’ve been to has been just wonderful!!! I really like Great Clips! They are perfect for me and my busy schedule, they do a fantastic job and the price is really reasonable! I recommend Great Clips to ANYONE who wants great service for a fair price 👍🏻👍🏻✌️

Endless loop trying to sign up for wait list
I have tried for about 30 minutes and have read everything on each page. I could not locate anything about times when I could or could not sign up on the wait list. All I get is a continuous loop on how easy it is to put my name on the list by selecting the dot on the map for my location, I do that but do not receive the page that shows available times nor a way to sign up. What I do get is the store info page again telling me to select the map dot for my location and to fill out the time slot with my name and info - it’s that simple - but wait when I select the map dot I go back to the stores info page. Over and over again - I am presuming I cannot sign up until the store is open so I wait and exactly 5.75 minutes - 7 minutes after store is to open I get the message that the wait list is full. So I am to presume that all these people get their name on the list within the first seconds after the list is supposedly open for sign ups. This is one seriously messed up app - I’ve written software for the last 40+ years, long before monitors were used for writing apps and this app tops the worst I’ve used in a long time. Just pathetic in user interface and it’s even worse for my mother who loves a particular stylist and tries to get on the list - she can’t see everything and has to rely on her nurse to set things up - just because she is a little hard in seeing.

Today this place give me a great hair cut. Yesterday was a different story. Yesterday I checked in on the App, it said I had a 31 min. wait. That’s cool I check in on the App. I took my time getting to the shop at 159th and 69 Highway in Overland Park Kansas. Got there I was the First name on the list, there was only two people cutting hair. Two people were getting hair cuts one person waiting. By the time they got to me ,I had been there about 45 minutes. Then a guy walk in and they told me he was next, I left the shop and I will not be back to that shop again. The shop I went to today was great I didn’t have to wait and they treated me with respect. The shop today was in Prairie Village Kansas. Someone needs to talk to the manager at yesterday’s shop. It’s such a nice shopping center but bad customer service.

Wait time inaccurate…
I have found the same issue as multiple other reviewers. The estimated wait time is not accurate. I have been using Great Clips for a decade and found the apps displayed wait time has gotten progressively worse over the past few years. I used to pass up one Great Clips store to go to another with a lower displayed wait time. I have learned the hard way on multiple occasions that it was a waste of a drive. Check in with a 14 minute wait time and once you get to the store it is a 32 minute wait time. Or check in with a 25 minute wait expected and when you arrive, you are the first customer in an hour per the stylist. This portion of the app needs some significant improvement. A longer than expected wait allowed me to sit here and write this review. Seems like estimated wait time accuracy is the most important feature of the app, at least for me.

Fix App
Well the app was working fine for the past few years. When I recently checked in to the same location I always use and showed up, they didn’t have me in the system. I was checked in on the other side of town. Very frustrating because now I’m waiting an hour for a cut when I showed up on time for the scheduled cut. Developers need to add the address in the check-in location. Last time I get a cut at Great Clips due to app issue. Developers need to look into this ASAP. Updates and bug fixes help your business. Update: So I let the staff know I was going to sit in my truck due to no seats in the lobby. My wait time was 45 minutes. I walked back in at 38 minutes and see my name not on the screen. I told the employee I already check in about 40 minutes ago and told them I had to sit in my vehicle due to no seats available. They never notified me. They wanted to put me on the list again to be last. I was 8th the first time. Now I’m 4th? Nope I’m done with Great Clips. Never again!

Professional and talented
Amerah was my grandsons hairstylist and he was very nervous about getting his hair cut for school . She was very calm talking to him and asking him questions about the style he wanted . He had a picture on his phone from the internet with the style he was going for . She was very careful to try and get it as close to the picture as she could . Afterwards of course he didn’t look like the picture but she looked at him and told him to go home and work with it to make it his own . Then when the day comes he looks in the mirror and his hair looks like what he loves , that is when he should take pictures of his hair and bring those pictures in when he’s ready for another cut . That is brilliant advice ! Simply brilliant! Thank you Amerah !

Frustrating
I’m theory this app should be very helpful, but I have had too many frustrations. Recently, I planned on going to the salon after work. I kept an eye on the wait time in the hour leading up to when I would leave, and the wait time remained under 10-min, which I thought was good. I didn’t want to check in too early, because sometimes my check-in expires in as little as 30-mins which has happened to me several times. (The employees even told me that the drop-off time is not consistent but can be as early as 30-min). Anyways, I was going to be leaving soon, and so I checked in, with the wait-time estimated to be 15-min. Perfect. I arrived almost exactly 15-min later, and they told me that several of their stylists just left and my wait time will be an additional 20-min. Really?? This isn’t the first time I have had this happen. It would be one thing if I could check in 30-60 minutes in advance so that my spot is reserved on the list, but the fact that my check-in could randomly expire before I arrive is pretty stupid. And regarding employees leaving, this should be accounted for either by having the software factor this into their estimations, or by staggering the departure times for employees, or by allowing employees to stick around if there is a long queue in the waiting list. I have been frustrated far too many times and I am ready to be done with Great Clips.

Time Saver
I’ve been a member now with Great Clips for a good year in a half and I must say.. this online check-in app is a REAL time saver!!! Anytime it’s that time of the month for me to get my needed haircut, I quickly check myself in and by the time I am at my local Great Clips salon, I let the employees know I’ve arrived and I will get seen by one of the hairdressers right away or I may need to wait only 5 to 6 minutes but my wait time is pretty short all thanks to this very useful and time saver app. It’s so amazing how quickly I check-in and am quickly seen by a hairdresser; getting my needed haircut😌 And the “Haircut Reminder” feature is an awesome tool to help remind me to take pride and excellent care of my short hair by sticking to my certain haircut/haircare routine!👍🏻

Awesome, saved my night!
It was 7oclock on a holiday, I knew it would be hard to get a haircut. But it was the only time I had available. Luckily I had this app and it saved me the trip of going to my usual salon because it told me it was understaffed. THEN it went the EXTRA MILE by directing me to the nearest salon that did have some workers just in the next city. And I had a good conversation with the person cutting my hair that night, even though it was late and I knew they wanted to go home. Great job guys. I think you could have added a feature where you can schedule your appointment ahead of time instead of being forced to go immediately. Maybe pay online option. It’s kind of like the transit app now that I think about it.

Love Great Clips........ but Rhonda is best hands down!!
I’ve been going to great clips for over a year now and Rhonda at Great Clips of Downingtown PA is nothing short of amazing!! Rhonda has cut my hair each time I’ve gone in to the salon and she has gotten me the most amounts of compliments said to me when she does my cut. She is very professional and has a great cheer about her with stories she and I chat about while getting my hair done. Great Clips you have an amazing gem working for you and you should do whatever it takes; shout outs, raises, private helicopter to take her to and from the salon out to lunch daily to keep her forever! Thank you again Rhonda for being amazing and cheers to you Great Clips for her being there to cut hair for this Downingtown Great Clips. Daniel Frontini

Great but one “flaw” that might be on purpose
I’ve never had an issue with the app while using it. The use is the same each time. Open the app, find the closest shop to me currently, checkin, close the app. The app has been awesome for its intended use. However, until the day of this review I was never signed in, in part because I didn’t really see a need to. The problem is the app pushes a badge notification with absolutely no way to turn it off. Great clips does not appear in your notification settings or “Siri suggestions” until* you have signed in and confirmed your notification settings in the app. At that point it asks the usual question through the apple pop up to allow notifications. Essentially once or twice a month, for probably half a year, I had to open the app to clear a badge notification simply because it’s pushing them without any way to physically turn that setting off; since it’s hidden until you sign in. It’s so small of a problem, I can’t honestly say if it’s on purpose or not. TLDR; the app is great for its use and I like to keep my phone clear of notifications

Careful when you check-in online!
I live an hour away from a barber. So I used online check-in to get my son in. I decided to check him in online soon as they opened and make the drive over so when I got there wait time would be minimal. I got there and was told that even though I checked in at 9am when they opened and I did check in they actually dont accept check ins until 5 minutes AFTER they open 9:05. I explained that this was no where on their app and I was never sent an alert notifying me otherwise. She said she was sorry but that’s the rules!! I was told wait time was now 88 minutes!!!! All before 10am! I was so mad told her what the situation was and they said they were unwilling to work with me and I was welcome to go elsewhere!! This app needs to put that information up! I also suggest that if someone does manage to check in they should have a reminder notice as well.

Waiting time
The problem is with waiting time is shows a different time than in true time. It seems like it is based on a man’s haircut, which sometimes does not take as long as a woman’s haircut and if a man wants to add his beard after he’s checked in then the time change, so if I leave my house, and it says 15 minutes, I can get to the salon which is five minutes away and still showing 15 to 20 minutes because the people in front of me haircut takes a little longerso I was hoping that this could help you with judging the wait time for people instead of doing the bare minimum. Add a few minutes to where we’re not setting longer than it shows us to.

Very basic
This app finally looks good but the functionality is still very minimal. At the least, there should be a way to load a credit card into the app and scan to pay at the register. Even better would be a rewards account like so many other apps have. I buy your pre-loaded card most Decembers and use it throughout the year. Why can’t that be in the app so I don’t have to carry a physical card? Or drop the antiquated pre-paid card concept and turn it into a loyalty program with points. Look at all the functionality of the Starbucks app compared to Great Clips. One of the reasons I go to Great Clips is the technology - they have my haircut preferences at whichever location I use and I like the mobile check-in, but the tech is limited to those two things when it could be doing a lot more.

“We do not provide masks for our customers”
Oroville,California. I frequent this place often. Usually twice a week. $18*2=$36. Now add the tip. I tip very generously. $7 to 10$. 4 girls were sitting in salon chairs waiting on a customer. I usually have a mask but stoped wearing one after I got vaccinated. The CDC agrees with my decision. They couldn’t provide a disposable mask or would service my needs with out one as they require. For an industry that suffered greatly, they were ok with a customer walking away. I then went to Angelina and the Hair man located at 2055 Mitchell Ave, Oroville California. They were extremely busy and guess what? They squeezed me in and didn’t require a mask since I was vaccinated. $18 for a hair cut and $12 for a tip. Found my new “go to” spot for haircuts. I hope everyone dumps Great Clips and goes to a local place insteadZ Oroville has so many hair cut options. I am ashamed Now that I’ve wasted my money on a corporate place instead of a Man or Woman trying to make a living.

Joell rocks
My son and I’ve been going to this great clips for a few years now and we have never been disappointed. Although every stylist there seems to do a great job, we only go to Joell because she gets it right every time. She is very friendly and has actually interesting and non obtrusive conversation and always does a fantastic job on our hair. My son is a little particular with his hair, he’s lucky cause it’s long and curly, not like a girl’s hair long and curly but good looking boy’s hair long and curly. It’s unfortunate that he has such a Down syndrome looking face though but we love him anyways. He is special in that he still doesn’t know how to read even at 16 years old, but he sure makes you laugh when you look at him.

Time left on app = different than in shop
This app needs better time structure. I checked in to the app and it told me 36 minutes till haircut, so I went home and periodically checked the app to make sure I was on time. I checked back the first time and it said 25 minutes left, then 18 minutes left, then 8 minutes left, and finally 1 minute left. I then went to the great clips location and they informed me that I was first in line for the past 20 minutes and so I was booted from the queue. I now am behind 4 people and have a 25 minute wait....... while waiting for my first check in, I had push notifications turned on and was checking the app every several minutes and still I got no notification inside the app or from the push notifications that I was first in line. There must be a way inside the app that it tells you when it bumps you because there was no way of me knowing it was time to come in! That is until they took me off the queue.

App saves so much time!
First and foremost, my stylist, and the entire team at the Avondale fiesta store are awesome, engaging, and full of positive energy. As for the app, it is a MUST! You can check in a whole hour before you plan on getting there. And when you arrive you are most likely at the front of the line. It is advantageous to those on the move, balancing time around errands, that you’ll begin to laugh under your breath when the stylist asks arriving customers if they’re checked in online only for the customer to reply no. The time saved is priceless! You’ll see your wait, if it’s short you can go immediately. If it’s long you can take your time getting there knowing your place in line is reserved.

Easy to understand and use
Easy to understand and use. You choose the Salon from a map with wait times displayed for each, choose the number of people to check in, arrive within the estimated window, and you are usually number 1,2,or 3 on the list. It’s not an exact science, because haircut times, staffing, and other factors can affect the estimates. As long as people realize they might have to wait a LITTLE BIT (0-20 min), this is a great system. Way better than walking in and hoping for the best. On rare occasions, the system goes down or something odd happens with the app update, but I’ve been using it since shortly after it came out and only had that happen a couple of times. I always feel bad for the walk-ins who have not checked in online.

Not a great experience
Downloaded the app and went to check in. App said 47 minute wait. Well I’ll do some minor chores around the house. Within 10 minutes the app changes to 0 minute wait and says head in. I hurry to get ready to leave and the app switches to 10 minute wait. No biggy….its a 5 minute drive or so. As I am getting close the wait switches to 35 minute wait. I walk in and there are three people in front of me and one stylist. I’m waiting and will get my cut here today but it will be my last greatclips trip. 🤷. There are enough alternatives that I don’t need my time wasted. I don’t mind if an online check in isn’t perfect but this was a bad first impression. For reference I’ve used the website to check in multiple times with no issues, however when I tried that today a message popped up saying they were experiencing issues with the site and I should call or use the app.

Need to extend the amount of time an online check-in is held for
I checked-in yesterday via the app & when I arrived, my reservation had been removed because it took me "too long" to get there. You need to extend the time that an online check-in is held for. Also, factor into the wait calculation the stylists schedule, not just how many are on the floor at the time of the reservation! I checked to one location that was 19 minutes and by the time I arrived 15 minutes later the wait should have been about 4 min, right? Wrong, 2 stylists had just left and now the wait was 38 more minutes. So, I check the app again and another store 2 miles away was only 5 minute wait. By the Time I got there it was 14 minutes; a stylist had just clocked out again and left with 5 people in the waiting area and a total of 9 checked in. Or, the stylists should stay until the que has gone down; not leave with 10 customers in line...

Awful app, great haircuts
This review is split in two. First criticism of the app. Second suggestions. The haircuts are great but this app is awful. The reminder feature has never worked. Each time I click remind it pops up a box “opps something went wrong. Please try again” I’ve tried several time to leave feedback on the app itself when it asks for a review it pops up a box “Too many characters. Please try again.” This same box pops up no matter how many characters you leave. Even when you place just one letter. Suggestions: I wish it had more functionality. 1) I want to see my profile. Maybe a tab where I could see the cut they give me and the notes they left for the next stylist. 2) I wish I could submit a picture for the stylist to view when they pull up my profile. 3) There could also be a tab to view all kinds of haircuts and styles, like the books they have that way when you go into the shop you already know what you want and can show it to the stylist. 4) What if it sent you a notification when they had the 5.99 cuts sale going on. 5) It would also be neat to view the last date you checked in. This app has a lot of potential but it doesn’t utilize any of it. I have had the app for a while and to be honest it seems like the same app as when I first downloaded it. Nothing really new.

Cynthia
Just had my haircut by Cynthia on miracle mile in Vero beach Florida. She’s a great hairstylist and I would recommend her. Also have had Chelsea in the past and she is excellent also. I would definitely get rid of JC or whatever his name is that is the manager. He’s arrogant and not very nice to his clientele. He yells at his staff and gave me a hard time with a coupon that I had telling me Facebook‘s coupons never work and I should’ve had it brought up on my phone before I came to the register. He also gave my neighbor a hard time telling her she should have had a phone app for GreatClips to check in on line. She has a iPhone but does not use it for apps and was terribly angry with him.

Who cares?
I called in and was placed on their wait list and when I arrived I checked in with my phone number and waited a short time for my turn. My name was called and the hairdresser read off my desired hair cut, she thought, I said I don’t know what a #3 is but, I would like it cleaned up or something to that effect AND then it went down hill. I jumped out of the chair and shouted, “That’s not me!” as the young lady took a huge chunk of hair off the side of my scarp just above my ear. I found out then what a #3 was. Apparently, there was another person with the same name as mine who was also waiting. I was in a wedding in 2 days. “It won’t grow back that soon” she said. That’s when I chucked the chair through their window (not really). It was the manager’s comment that worsened the ‘mistake’ and really caused me to overheat. I was standing in the middle of their salon, still wearing the apron, while three of them were at the counter trying to figure out why I was getting a ‘buzz’ cut as everyone else in the salon looked on curiously. Then the manager walks over and says to me, “Are you ready!?” Am I ready? I sure don’t think I looked ready to sit back down in ‘that’ chair. Maybe an apology would have been more effective. I know I would have felt a ‘ting’ better. (Am I ready?!) A long story: (Just make sure they know who you are.)

Doesn’t actually work
Great idea but currently doesn’t work. I get an “internal server error (500)” when I try to log in after creating a profile. Additionally the app does not seem to have passed login information to either the web application or the business itself. The web app doesn’t recognize my credentials but also won’t let me use my same email address to create a new profile, a sure sign of an error with the iOS app. The business itself received only my phone number and no other information that I put on my profile. So I hope they fix this but I wish I would have never downloaded it.

Basic bare app
This app is so basic. You can only make appointments as the next person. It’s almost like walk ins, just make the appointment as you leave your home. You can’t make appointments for specific time of the day. If it was noon and wanted to make an appointment for 3pm, it’s not possible. Also, there should be notes for who or what was done to your hair. After the work has been done on your hair, the stylist name should appear on the app. Let the customer rate what was done. Let the customer put in some notes so they know what the style was done. We like to return to a specific stylist that did a good job. This part of the app does not have to be shared with the world. It’s just personal notes for the customer. This 1 star review is solely based on the app. My experience at the salon has been fine. I’ve found a couple of good stylist at a good price. Just hope someone can fix the app.

A solid 4 out of 5
App is very basic but easy to use and navigate. All of the bare minimum “must haves” or essential options are included however the app lacks the necessary enhancements to receive a 5 star review. Over the past 15 years I’ve helped more than two dozen Fortune 500 companies (including a direct competitor of Great Clips) build, improve, or revamp their mobile apps so for me it was easy to spot the ways Great Clips could improve the user experience and improve the app. For example, I’d like to see an improved map & GPS integration as well as the opportunity to put products in my cart that I’d pay for and pick up once I arrive for my appointment. Those are just two ways I will mention that could improve the app and receive a 5 star review.

Sarah is amazing
My way to last minute to try to find a new hairdresser debating where to go. I made an appointment online. I was able to watch as my appointment time came closer. I left my house about 10 minutes till my appointment or check in time when I arrived. It was too beautiful women there but very friendly. It was the end of the evening neither of them made you uncomfortable in late they have other people riding at the same time, Sarah was amazing. It’s very comforting to walk into a haircutting place and seeing these two souls and the very best part is I love my haircut. This has been my best experience in many years.!! 😍😍

Wait Times Are a Joke!
Our local salons are great. Staff is friendly. Both locations are clean. The App is a joke! I checked in with a 54min wait. I drove to the salon at a 21min wait, checked in in-person, only for the clock to jump to 40+min. Then the app went black and said timing couldn't be configured at this time. One of the staff members clocked out and our expected 21min wait stretched over an hour. In that time I watched the current wait time on the salon screen bounce from 88min to 65 to 91min. It made no sense, and just looked like the app was playing a game of bingo, randomly calling numbers. Use the app to check in, but pay attention to your place in line rather than the timer to estimate realistically when you should head to the salon. The app will give you a "15 min warning to head there" but this is a joke!

Great app
Love the app. I can get a haircut whenever by just using this app. They even let you know when your close by a txt. You can do what you need to and once you get that txt just head over. Plus if you’re signed in through the app you jump ahead of all walk-ins. No more waiting in line for it. I don’t think I’ve ever waited more than 10 minutes. And I being cautious about the time. Really it’s probably less than 10 minutes. Busy schedules? Then you will want this. I’ve always been treated great and my cut is always the best. And sometimes they’ll have deals on haircuts. Buy a card that’ll really save ya money.

Very simple to use
Great Clips in the Great Clips app makes it very easy to get a haircut every couple weeks they take the make it feel like a chore out of getting a haircut because it’s so simple to do you check in online on the app you walk in nine out of 10 times you go straight to the seat and get your haircut and then you leave it’s simple anybody else doing haircuts this simple or streamline if you don’t have the Great Clips app and if you haven’t got a haircut from Great Clips, then you are missing out you are doing things the hard way for sure highlyrecommend you will not be sorry that you did it

Convenient, But Needs Improvement
I like the convenience of the app. Knowing what the wait time is helpful. If it’s a long wait, I can use the time to run other errands or grab a bite to eat. My chief complaint it that the “Haircut Reminder” feature does not work. Every time I try to set a reminder I get a “Oops-Request failed:unauthorized (401)” message. I’m one of those people who have to have reminders for pretty much everything, so the fact that the reminder feature doesn’t work is irritating. A list of stores added to the map would be quite useful. I get kinda aggravated with the map, especially if there are several stores in one small area. I don’t think I’m the only one who finds this bothersome. Until improvements are made, my three-star rating will stand.

My new go to!
The place I had gone to, Hairmasters, for over 20 years totally ruined my haircut one time by cutting off all my bangs. Another haircut or noticed it gassed and said are you trying something new? I said no, apparently we just had a miscommunication not a big deal. Would’ve been fine right there, but the person telling me that my bangs being cut off was my fault because that’s what I said was the straw that broke the camels back. So I came here to Great Clips & never looked back. They know my name, my preferred cut, & are super friendly. What’s unfortunate for them about this story (but not you guys) is that I’m a good tipper.

Great job!
I love being able to have the same stylist every time. When I sign in all I do is ask if she’s in they let me know if not I usually ask when she’ll be available then I return. My gal cuts my hair the same way every time. There have been some that have read my file that has my info that have gotten it wrong. Most of the time is when I’ve showed up and need a cut that day and they’ve never cut it before. My gal does a fantastic job, very pleasant to be around and we have such good conversations. I hope she never goes to another shop again I'm so glad she’s come back to my shop!!😊

Get there early if you want to be 1st
So, I love the app. The issue I have is with the process. Why do you have people waiting in line before the store opens allowed to check in first before app users? The store opens at 10am at my location but the app delays access by 5 minutes to allow the store to check in people waiting outside. So, if you want to be first, you have to wait outside. Please think about this further. I appreciate the store employees are wearing masks in GA!!! Also, glad to see that customers have to wear face coverings too! Thank you Great Clips, we’ve always had a great experience at Great Clips!!! Glad you see that safety for all is important.

Not happy
Used the ap for the first time in a while today. It now has a thing when you check in, it will send you a text message when to leave to get there. What a joke. I was sitting in salon waiting for a text message did not show me as checked in on the board at all, I kept telling them I was waiting for a text so I could check in which never happened so they manually checked me in. I live less than a mile away; I just want to know wait time and that I am checked in when I get there. Why fix something that was working fine before you fixed it. The lady said she would let them know it isn’t working as I wasn’t the only one it did not work for. Ever heard of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it?” I would give this no stars if I was allowed as I think even one is overrated. Is there any way to revert to the old way?

Aweful- no need for the app
Checked in online with the app. Pretty much stopped what i was doing so that I could make it there on time. Got there, app said i had 4 mins. I went to check in. Walking in before me were a couple gentlemen they, they went to check in they gal asked if they checked in online they told her no. She then informed them it would be 10 to 15 min wait. They said they’d sit down and wait. I got there told her my name, and that Id checked in on the app. She informed me it’d be 45 mins. to an hour wait. I showed her my app that said 2 mins. (Mind you I stopped what i was doing to get there on time) She then very rudely informed me they don’t go the app they have their own list. So why make the app/online necessary if they don’t use it. Aweful-rude, went to another place and got in relatively quick. I won’t be and i will spread the word.
