I personally love this app for helping me with drawing things. I love that you can customize how many box’s you have but I would have to say the only complaint I have with this app is I would like if when you choose how many box’s you want what you could have it at like 5.5 and not just a whole number option but other than that it’s a great app and I recommend it.
This app does a decent job and has helped me transfer my work quite easily with the help of the grid system. The only caveat is that if you accidentally touch the gridded image somewhere, you get the “Tap to pick color” option and, so far I can’t find a way to deselect it, as there are no instructions. So I usually have to go back to the grid menu, hit save and go back to the image to make the selection disappear. I t would seem easier if a double- tap would deselect it. It’s a minor issue but annoying nonetheless.
Is there a way to make the grid appear behind the picture only? It’s hard to see the picture with the grid laid in top, even with a very fine grid. It gives the options of background colors, but I want the picture in front of the grid. I am in the medical field, and if you could have this feature we could use it extensively for screening patients with scoliosis and posture issues. It would be the only thing on the market for that. Currently we just manually take photos with a grid hanging on the wall behind the patient.
This app is fantastic for an artist like me who frequently needs to scale a small photo to canvas size. This makes that process so much easier. The only thing wish it had were measurements for each side of the image you upload, so I could tell how many millimeters each square is inside the app. That would make things waaay easier. Other than that- Fantastic.
It has its flaws. I use 1cm by 1cm, but it makes rectangle so i have to crop my image. I have only been using this method for a few weeks now, but it works really well. And Grid helps a lot. It isn't hard to use, and all the settings and controls are available for you. And the Pro mode isn't needed to use the app. Over all, it has it's flaws, but it is very helpful for me.
I don’t usually write a review but this app had me confused and I thought If I wrote this maybe I could help another person out. While this is one of the best grid apps I’ve used, there are some photos that won’t go into the app. I chose the picture in the app but the picture itself didn’t show up. The I tried others and there were some that did but some that didn’t. If that didn’t happen this would be such a good app because it does let me change the size of the grid and many more.
I use this app to quickly and easily put grids on photos. It is simple and I like that you can change the grids color so it doesn’t blend into the photo too much. The only negative thing is that it constantly shows adds (and a full-screen one once you save an image with a grid) but you can exit the app right after saving an image to skip the ad. The image will save anyway, you don’t need to wait and watch the add.
I use the app to put a grid on a photo I want to paint. I use a 9 high x 12 wide grid on a landscape photo. This corresponds to 2” squares on the photo equivalent to 18x24 canvas. I use a very narrow grid line also. Very easy to sketch out a design on a canvas. I used to print a photo then measure and draw gridlines on it. This app makes it so much easier. Thank you!!!
In two or three minutes I was able to utilize this app effectively. I am an amateur artist (oil painting) and this app is wonderful. I searched for a gridding solution everywhere. This is it! I wish that I could save the gridded image to photos easily. In the meantime, I snap a screenshot and save that to photos and files apps. Thank you!!!
I use this to put grids over photos for drawings and paintings. It always works perfectly and has no annoying ads. It’s super easy to change columns and rows, plus you can change the line width and color. I’ve had this for a few years and I love it.
Not perfect squares, so makes transferring pics hard.
I used this so I could transfer a picture to canvas using grid method. Something didn’t seem right in my canvas. Come to find out the grid squares aren’t perfect squares so you have to adjust for a different size width wise than height wise. Frustrating. It would be a perfect app if they were perfect squares.
This is an indispensable tool for artists who like to draw. I love the color sampling option. I wish the color swatch was a little larger or that clicking it could bring a larger square with the sampled color but it does work well as designed. If the tool could recommend color pencils that best match the color, it would be the most awesome tool ever :)
I honestly LOVE this app. Normally i could never draw a photo too well, but when i tried drawing mitsuri on a 6x6 grid on here, it was PERFECT! I use apps sometime to trace photos and with this app theres no need to trace! It makes it look as though i traced it but i havent. I love this app so much, thanks!! I highly reccommend. AND THERE ARE RARELY ANY ADS!!
This app does exactly what is is meant to do. If you aren’t happy with something about it try playing around with the settings and I bet you can make it work exactly as you want to. It’s a free app people! I’m giving it 5 stars.
I think you should be able to choose a square grid that allows you to put how many rows and columns you need. Not just the rectangle. I also think you should be able to put the dimensions of the paper you are working on so that the grid is just right. This is an ok app. Not all cracked up as I’ve been told. Wasted my money thinking it would be better than what I was previously working with before I paid. Oh well you win some and you lose some!
I find this app extremely frustrating and I did get the upgrade but I can’t get any help from them..I have no idea how to get the grid I want and am sorry I bought this app...too bad because I have used grids for my oil paintings and looked forward to using something creative. I received a response from the developer asking what exactly do I want. At this time I want a grid for my canvas 18x24 with three squares vertical and 4 squares horizontal but was unable to do that grid...don’t think it should be that hard to do.
This app has been very helpful over the past year in assisting me to sketch pictures in proper proportions. Thank you for this excellent opportunity. I highly recommend and look forward to continue using it.
This app has helped improve so much! I’ve tried other websites and apps but I’ve been using this one for years and is by far my favorite! Definitely recommend 🫶🏼
The first photo worked great but I couldn’t load the next one, had to close the app but it still wouldn’t let me load a new photo. I upgraded and still no luck. Then I deleted it and downloaded again it would let me get a new picture then but that was it. Need to be able to change current photo to a different one without any hassles. I will change my rating then to 5 stars.I sent feed back to developer hope to hear from you soon.
I wish there was a tutorial on how to use it. If I knew how to use this app I’d give it five stars but every time I try to use this app to draw, my drawing comes out stretched or wrong because I don’t understand how to size my grid. For example, when you set the grid, you set rows and columns by number of boxes; but how big is each box? 1 inch x 1 inch, 1 cm by 1 cm? I have no idea. This app is such a great idea but I’m just so lost when it comes to using it.
Love being able to move grid, but settings got stuck
I pod for the upgrade because it was important to me to be able to move the grid. It worked for a few photos, then I could not adjust the color, size of the grid boxes or the intensity/width of the lines. The grid is transparent, and I needed it to be bold for teaching purposes. I asked for help and did not get a response.
This is a good app and very easy to use. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. For some reason they have a ‘Restore Purchases’ button which seems to not work after making a purchase :/. Also a degree of rotation scale would be helpful for the grid rotation. Very good customer service.
Can be used to put a grid over phone/tablet photos and then used to transfer to a painting, etc. 5 stars if it could do a center point with vertical, horizontal and a 45 line from each corner. i.e. a compass rose with single width lines.
The versatility in the color, opacity, and grid thickness all come with the free version of the app, along with a full screen picture with no ads or watermarks. The app does an excellent job for its free version and deserves each and every one of its 5 stars.
There are definitely lots of artist including myself who needed this app thank you JinPeg Wang. Great app! It works as told and runs smoothly I recommend to artists but if you need a grid on a picture this does the job!
Have contacted the developer numerous times. No response back . It’s disappointing because I am sure that if I knew how to use the tools to size my grid to match my canvas, this would be a great tool. When the developer doesn’t respond, it really stinks. Almost a week after posting here and about a month after emailing the developer - still crickets. Nothing .
Although I like this app I am disappointed that after paying for PRO it does not recognize that I did! So, ads still show and I cannot access the moveable grid feature. Will cancel unless it cooperates.
This is definitely the best app available for using the grid method, but a very important feature is that you should be able to resize the image rather than the grid. This makes a huge difference and it’s really annoying to not be able to move the composition around.
This app is really really I mean really helpful. I’m an artist and I was looking for a simple way to grid my pictures and I found this app. Since then I don’t have to waste my time to grid the pictures with Photoshop.
It is great to be able to easily put grids on any picture of any size. This way I don’t need to actually draw grid by hand anymore (: I use this almost every day for illustrations.
I got this because I saw others using it with no problems, but for some reason it doesn’t work when I try and use it. Whenever I load in an image, it starts at 3 x 3, right? Well, it won’t let me change it. I adjust the rows and columns, but when I go back to the picture, it’s still 3 x 3. I had high hopes for this app because so many people said it was nice, but for me it doesn’t even work :/
Unable to see any photo that I select so I upgraded. Still unable to see any photo I select and when I emailed support they never replied?!? I paid for an upgrade - I would expect someone to at least reply to my feedback email to help fix my issue. Not able to use the app and no reply from customer service? That gets a 1 star rating from me.
I really like this app you can make small grids within bigger grids which allows a person to create fine details specially when it comes to realistic artwork I just simply love this app
This app is really good it really helps me a lot with drawing and there is not really any problem with it but over all of that its a great app that you should use if you need help with drawing
Google will remove ad covering bottom of grid but the coverage remains with a box that says “Ad Removed By Google”. Not helpful. Gives Google a thumbs-down for me. I need to see my entire grid to transfer my drawing to canvas!
I upgraded to the grid pro. Printed out some photos with grids on them. I thought, cool. Then sat down to draw my grids on paper and found the grids were like 14/16 horizontal and a different measurement in 16ths vertical. Can you imagine trying to draw that grid on paper? There are no instructions to tell you how to make the grids 1/2 x 1/2. It’s very confusing so I will now purchase another grid app. 😾
Lacking key features for how much it costs. I’d like to have diagonal grids and also a system where i can input the number of rows and columns i want, enterable via keypad and not a slider which can get annoying to get right.
Yes, supreme effort for old school illustrators! Must have tool for transferring source to illustrations! Thank you so much for remembering those who don’t just trace over pictures on their tablet.
I love this app, it’s helpful to me as an aspiring artist. But, I can’t figure out how to save the grid to my photos. Also, lots of options I need to pay for so it’s a little annoying. Other than that it’s fine.
The app was a waste of money. It will not allow me to put the lines on the portrait where I need them. It also came without any instructions. I worked for hours trying to put the lines on the portrait where I needed them but to no avail. So I gave up.
I like the grids and agree with other reviewer that a measurement of each grid would be nice but how would app know the size of the output? Also in landscape, the ad interferes with view and in portrait it’s hard to see in phone.
I cannot change the grid to anything other than the original free one- with 9 boxes. Using this for portrait drawing, after buying the Pro Version, I cannot get smaller squares. I’ve written through Apple Store and received a response to change in settings- problem is it doesn’t show up there. Deleted and reinstalled ; it’s no better.
This app is just what I need, but I could’nt even change the grid size. There is no instruction on how to do it. I tried to figure it out but was not successful. So, I give up.
This app is simply amazing and I love using it to draw the only problem I have is that after a while the grid won’t import pictures so I have to delete it and redownload
I believe there are always some people in this world who want to add grids to images, just like me. That's why I developed Grid#. Hope it helps. Features: 1. Add grid on image. 2. There are 5 types of grids you can choose: - a. Rectangle(Set rows & cols) - b. Square(Set rows only) - c. Square(Set cols only) - d. Rectangle(Set row height & col width) - e. Square(Set row height only)[pro feature] 3. The lines can be colourful. Use whatever RGB color you like. You can change lines' transparency. 4. You can change line width (from 1 to 20). 5. You can add multiple grids(at most 3) on the image. [grid 3 is pro feature] 6. You can pick colors from image. 7. There are 2 modes: - a. Fixed Grid: Grid cannot be moved nor be rotated. - b. Movable Grid[pro feature]: Grid can be move, or be rotated (Move two fingers around each other to rotate the grid)
