I love credit unions and this credit union, but the online app has enough log on and verification issues to make it bothersome. Fingerprint and facial recognition are pretty secure, but anytime the app experiences the slightest delay, it requires adding your password manually. It’s one of my few passwords I have memorized now. Updating my phone number was technically impossible after discussing it with CSR. The new number needs to be verified via text, but it didn’t send the codes. They had to email the verification, the text or call options don’t work, and you won’t learn that until you call. I don’t just complain, I always offer suggestions to fix their problems, and for the most part, they do.
I don’t have much hope for “helpful” apps, but this one is actually doing what it’s supposed and doing it well. I feel relaxed when I have any questions or an issue because I know I’ll be able to find a solution through this app. It’s simple, with an intuitive interface. Only has what I need and it’s easy to navigate. Even their ads help me know there are other things available to me through this bank. If I can’t solve it online, help is a text/call away through the app. This app makes me happy and appreciative that I bank with you. Your app enhances the experience of banking with you and the customer service is really extended through to the app. It’s really nice. Thank you.
All my needs are taken care of on this app. I especially like the “search” function to see if I paid a particular bill. You can set up auto-pay, transfer money between your accounts (including to your car payment loan account) or even to accounts at another banks, Face ID, remote deposit a check. Even though the actual bank has short hours, using the app makes things really accessible. I only have to go to the bank maybe 6 times a year! One think is a lot of banks don’t recognize you as a bank online so I’m only able to transfer 1 one bank & not all of them.
everything is amazing. From transferring money to my checking to my savings vice versa the only thing that I would complain about is making payments because I tried making up payment towards my credit card, and when I did that through the mobile app, it said that I had an error for five consecutive days after my due date. That’s the only reason why I would write it a four star because even though I had to call my bank and ask them to do it for me, I feel like now I was just late with my payments, and that kind of messed me up and I would like to have received an email at least knowing that the system of doing that was down.
HawaiiUSA amazing mobile experience. Love the option to put comments in my transfers and transactions. Like the mobile deposit not as much as CPB but your getting there HawaiiUSA. Would like to see the option to change categories per charge in the transaction, would love to see immediate card notification via the app vs an email you send. Who needs more emails. In app notification would be amazing. Also one last thing. Card controls via the app. Turn my debit card on and off, set spending limits and locations. Wow these features would push it over the top.
I am what some would call lacking in financial responsibility. I have never balanced a check book in all my 40 plus years. Turning my life around to be more responsible when it comes to my finances, I can truly say thanks to mobile banking with HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union. You’ve made it so easy for a guy like me. Left the other popular banks in Hawaii. My parents were members here and recommended I join. I have nothing but good things to say. Only downside is the one and only branch is far from my home. But thats why I'm reviewing their app. I never need to go in.. or at-least, very rarely. Really recommend using the app if you are a member. If not, join the bank! And then use the app.
Just some stuff to work on is sending the notifications in general as in Mobile Deposit and And Also Alerting when there has been a withdrawal. But overall tha app is good just takes time for a mobile deposit to be sent through.
I love the banking. You can do so much online and don’t even have to go to the bank and stand in long lines. I love being able to deposit a check remotely. Check my account anytime of the day when ever I want and still feel any transactions is safe and secure. Best thing ever!
I have been with Hawaii USA for almost 20 years now. I am glad I made the decision to bank here. The people are awesome, service is outstanding! Aaron Clevinger is the biggest reason I stayed !!!! HawaiiUSA online banking is a great service! Very reliable, easy as can be from my iPhone or computer. And the few times I had issues (due to my own misunderstandings) customer service was prompt, courteous and effective! I recommend this financial institution!
No download the app everything breaks once they update it, charges show up late! You can pay ur cc bill and still says you owe after 2-3days then all of a sudden it shows up randomly 4-5days later, you can call there number and wait 30m-1hr for someone to answer, or go to there online chat and they will tell u call the bank number so you end up going in one circle hahaha not worth it. HAD THIS BANK 20+ years and only now they told me about there rewards program with debit card
For no reason the app is now incredibly slow! Takes forever to load and sometimes doesn’t show account at all. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Turned off phone. No change. 2 weeks now.
It took me a while to sign up, but once I did, it’s a life changer! I no longer have to go to the bank for every single transaction and I don’t have to send my checks to the bank in the mail. Mobile deposit is the way to go! . I LOVE IT!
This ap has been making big progress since I’ve downloaded it. It’s easy to use, informational, and so far I haven’t been to see a clerk in person. Everything I need to do, I can do here. Pay bills, transfer money, and deposit checks. All here!
I would give it 5 stars if you would put back the feature to pay credit card on the app. It’s so much more convenient than having to log on to the web site.
Cloudflair will not allow me access this app or my account. Whenever I try to log in, it continues to pop up those little squares telling you pick all the cars, buses, fire hydrants, crosswalks, traffic lights, bicycles etc...and than the dreaded I am not a robot check box. It does this over and over and over and over again and again and never lets you access your account. I stopped try after it did this like 20 time...It never ends. It’s like it’s on some type of loop.
Love that I can do mobile deposit Love that I can send money electronically to other people’s accounts Love that the lines and service are quicker than bigger banks but I can stop access my funds through bank of Hawai’i ATMs anywhere🥰

The app is ok when it works but it is so annoying when the face id reverts to user login + password. The whole point of offering facial recognition is the convenience. Big fail.
I love this app. I can quickly and accurately see all of my transactions. It saves me time and a trip to the bank to transfer or check on my account balance from home.
I have always enjoyed the convenience of on line banking. Today, I appreciate it so much, now more than ever because I can be safer at home during this pandemic. It really is a wonderful. Thank you so much!
Your app takes too long to log in. My auto lock, 30seconds, on phone kicks in before I get access to your account. Once I get logged in, it takes another minute to sync my account and my auto lock kicks in and I have to log in again. I might as well access on my laptop 😭😭😭. Can you please take extra TLC on your app. ❤️

I love Hawaii USA Federal Credit Union. I am able to do all my banking remotely. I opened a Roth IRA for my son directly from my checking. Their rates are comparable in today’s market. I am always welcomed there.
The updated look the HawaiiUSAFCU app is a much needed facelift. I think the only addition I would request is the ability to pay the Bank CC through the app.
