very fun game that’s surprisingly easy to learn, but with some problems
it was easier for me to learn how to play this game compared to other gacha games with more confusing mechanics. moth trailblazer quests/stories every update is great, and a lot of the events (especially the critter pick and aetherium wars). in addition, the game gives 10 free limited character pulls every patch, and hopefully this won’t stop. the only thing i’m concerned about is that some endgame content is not very f2p-friendly (in memory of chaos, you have to have the most recently-released character in order to 5-star all 12 stages and swarm the torturous difficulties of both swarm disaster and gold and gears are both so difficult to clear even with properly and fully-built characters and despite following every strategy to help clear these stages). for someone who can’t afford getting every meta/non-meta character i want, this saddens me. i don’t know why some people (perhaps the small but influential amount of annoying whale players, since most of the whale players i know irl even said some endgame content is challenging) keep saying “all endgame content is TOO easy” in surveys when it’s not.

Honestly one of the best Gacha games ever made.
Honkai Star Rail in my personal opinion is one of the best gacha games in the world. And in my opinion it will stay that way, as the turn based combat is incredibly fun, the character designs are very good, animations are very good, the story is incredible, you are able to do events at your own pace as a lot of them are not time limited which is really friendly for new players and players who aren’t able to play daily. The energy system with 240 trailblaze power and overflow energy is also incredible as that will allow players to not be forced to use their energy. And the game is incredibly generous with rewards. You are guaranteed at least 1 5 star each patch which is very nice and getting stellar jades for pulls is very easy unlike getting currency in other gacha games. For example in Genshin Impact, you could spend hours and not get a single pull which is extremely frustrating, but spend a few hours in Honkai Star Rail, and you will get around 5-10 pulls which is much better in my opinion. Overall the fun gameplay, great story, and generosity of this game will allow it to continue being one of the best gacha games for years to come in my opinion.

Easier than Genshin
Started playing the moment it debuted. I love the graphics, the Burst animations, and the story. Engaging, and I love love LOVE the character designs. Their very diverse, and cute/handsome. My personal favorites are Archeron, Aventurine, Jing Yuan, Yanqing, etc. This game is, in my opinion, easier than Genshin because it honestly makes it easier for you to gain Stellar Jade. Now, I know some of you may disagree with me and say “No it is hard, it’s ridiculously hard” but honestly I argue. Genshin doesn’t have many quests that offer primo gems as the reward, and if they did, it ranges between 10-30 max. I know I know, sometimes it could reach 50, but honestly HSR offers more quests that gift Stellar Jade, and I love that. And Genshin makes it harder when it comes to the Gacha. Their characters are awesome, but it’s painfully agonizing mentally to never have enough primos to pull for the character you want. For me, in HSR, it’s easier. I already have a character I was super excited for when he debuted, Boothill. He’s a great character, and I’m so happy I have him. Overall, I think HSR is better than Genshin because they make it easier to save up for gachas, unlike Genshin.

Amazing game, but one small issue.
So I loved the game, honestly one of my favorites to play, great graphics, animations, story, characters, battles, all of it. Really, in the game, there was only one thing I was on the fence about: The character banners. By the time you get to level 50 or so, me being currently 57, obtaining stellar jade is hard enough, and although the pity is better than most games, it is still almost impossible to get a desired character. I pulled to get blade and had to get to hard pity. That means 150 pulls. However, that’s not my big issue with the game. My mobile device has 32 gigabytes of storage, but after all the data and stuff it has that I don’t know how to get rid of, it has more like 16. This game took up so much storage that I couldn’t download it even with nothing else on my device, so I had to download on my laptop instead. My mobile device is much more accessible to me, and the amount of time I can spend on my laptop is limited, due to scheduling issues, so I can only spend a couple hours a week playing, and HSR somewhat requires almost daily play. Other than that, it’s good, just this is a massive problem for me.

I like it, but it feels a bit bland.
Overall, the game is visually impressive with its smooth animations, outstanding graphics, and great character designs. The story is also engaging and enjoyable. However, there are certain areas where the game could be better to make it more exciting and engaging for players. One suggestion is introducing multiplayer features like battling bosses with friends or exploring the world with other players. Another suggestion is to add more exploration options, for example, expanding the world map, introducing new areas to discover, and adding hidden secrets or challenges. It would give players freedom and discovery, making the game more exciting and immersive. Lastly, more end-game options, When players run out of quests, this could include new challenges, boss battles, or even a new game plus mode, which would give players a reason to keep playing and provide a sense of accomplishment and progression. Introducing these features can make the game more engaging, exciting, and satisfying for players.

This is amazing!
I think that this game sounds amazing! I love it! I love it a little bit more than genshin impact but it’s honestly crazy for me to say that. I love all of the hoy verse games it’s amazing. Genshin impact was one of them there’s many games and it’s just amazing. Let’s just appreciate the creators of hoy verse and all these other games that are amazing. and so make sure you rate a five star just download it. If you think the sound quality isn’t good or anything it is it’s really great. It’s honestly something you won’t expect from a new game that’s just came out but it’s amazing you might expect bugs and everything but like it’s perfect. I don’t know how they do it but I think it’s just super Duper Duper Duper Duper cool. It’s not a normal game. It has amazing battles and everything. So if you don’t think so, try it out yourself. And it’s so easy to get a five star. My older sister got a five star not even an hour when she started playing less than an hour, actually it’s really hard to get a five star in Genshin but I think it’s super easy so hello are you gonna download it yet? I hope you enjoy it. -Random User

A wonderful game with equally wonderful game developers.
So, I’ve been playing HSR since the very first day it came out. It’s an amazing game, with everything a player that enjoys turn based combat could ever want. This game has unique characters with their own deep personalities and quirks, a beautiful series of planets that embody different cultures across a vast fictional universe, compelling combat systems and game mechanics, and an overall lovely player community. What exalts this game in my mind even further though, is the lengths the devs go to to ensure their player base is happy. They truly spoil us, and work tirelessly to keep us engaged with different a variety of fun events, an abundance of rewards and quests, and now a free limited 5 star character. I sincerely hope they continue to pamper us, it’s one of the things that makes this game feel worthwhile with everything else aside! Feeling like you’re playing more of a passion project rather than some other greedy cash cow game that wants to steal from you makes playing the game much more enjoyable. I would recommend giving HSR a shot to anyone who’s interested!!

Great game, and I couldn’t be happier.
Most of the mobile games I play usually have issues involving glitches, certain crashes, etc., but not Honkai Star Rail! The character designs and story elements are done very well, even with some designs having so many intricate details. The battle mechanics remind me of Persona 5 and that just makes it all the more fun, since you need strategy and good team members to get through some difficult bosses. And before you ask, I am F2P (Free-to-play) and only have the free five-star, and another five star I got, but only a few days ago. It’s perfect how much you just need to play in order to get what you want to proceed, you don’t need to pay $60 to get a five-star that beats the entire game, AND the free summons events are very generous. If you haven’t picked up this game, what are you waiting for? Also for people who say that the game is difficult, it’s not. Pick good characters from the list you have, get a ten-pull if you grind (or pay) enough, and build your team based on what weaknesses the enemy has, what bonuses they give, etc etc.

Basic starvation game
From the time ive started playing this game ive seen the same routine they pull in genshin and is the reason im just waiting for other games to come out. At some point in the game roughly when ur out of story you run out of stuff to do and are extremely limited on playing, unless u spend real money same thing as genshin. The starvation players feel when playing this companies games will eventually turn against them in the long run with having maybe 20-30 mins max to play hsr after finishing story to not having enough options to pull on banners when they throw them out like candy. Every other gatcha game gives a good amount of rewards and compensation to allow players to not feel obligated to spend money to have fun. This game doesnt have enough content from launch to have the players feel the need to play since there isnt a actual end goal like pvp or the ability to sit and enjoy the grind of gearing there characters fully with how crappy the energy system is and the lack of materials to get more energy, i think u get about 1600 energy till u need to spend real money or wait 24h till u refill which takes u 5 mins to use all that was refilled. Rework the energy system or give more options to get energy easier or the game will die faster then it arrived.

I can’t begin to explain
I’m not someone to write a review unless I’m complaining, but i HAD to say how much i love this game. Ive played Genshin Impact previously and still do, yet Honkai Star Rail has to come into first place. First off the note- if you can’t decide to get this game, please do. This came (compared to genshin) is relatively decent in size. And the graphics are amazing. Second off, the character designs are amazing. I am in LOVE with the characters and their designs, along with the story. It has its own world- and very different from genshin impact. The way you fight is rather fun and convenient, for me at least, and how you’re able to level up quickly is fun as well. Ive been playing genshin impact for two years, and I’m only at level 54. I am on level 57 on Honkai star rail, maybe cause i play too much, but its really easy and fun to get to other levels compared to other games. This game also allowes you to chat with others and try out their characters, which is a cool addition. In short, i really do love this game, and could go on and on about how i adore it!

Honest Review
I really enjoy this game, BUT I feel as if Hoyoverse leaves it as a side note because Genshin is/was so popular. I personally wish they would put more effort into this game when it comes to more frequent updates to the base story line, because the story line in this game is incredibly interesting and isn’t just a textbook “hero saves the day” type deal, the characters have real development and complex personalities which I believe Genshin lacked. Overall, Honkai: Star Rail has so much potential and is genuinely addicting in a way Genshin just wasn’t for me because of the constant ACTUAL effort I had to put into the battle aspect of it. With Honkai, (totally not referencing something I actually do) I can go to the restroom, play some and have auto-battle turned on when I shove my phone in my pocket when I have to go back to a boring Thanksgiving dinner. This game is definitely good for anyone who wants to feel the excitement of a complex storyline without having to worry about battle difficulty. Thank you, Hoyoverse for everything you do Sincerely, W Rizz

Better than genshin
I had quit genshin impact for about a year due to not being able to do anything or enjoy the game without burning a hole in my wallet. Then Honkai star rail appeared. I was skeptical about if it would be worse or better then genshin a but I was wrong. When I entered the loading screen was beautiful and the the character attacks. Even better. It looks like I am watching a high-quality 3D anime but I’m actually playing it. I had to delete it for awhile because of how addicting the story play was! The story line is very well put together and always makes you question what is coming on next. Details for characters to play as and voice lines are phenomenal! It almost makes me thing that the people who made this game are on something. Please play this game if you have a bunch of free time and want to play a game that isn’t like TikTok or anything where you bluntly stare at a screen. Honkai star rail is very engaging and dare I say better than its big sister genshin impact instead. In conclusion, get this game you will never regret it.

A Return To Roots
Honkai Star Rail is a brilliant successor to the Honkai name, with its compelling story and fun gameplay, as well as the fairest gacha I’ve seen since Honkai Impact 3rd. After the rough patch with Genshin Impact, I was worried that Hoyoverse might have hit a low point and sold their souls for money. I’m glad to see that I was wrong, and that they’re still making a game that everyone, F2P or no, can enjoy. The only issue I’ve had thus far is a pretty known one at this point: the issue of Relic Farming. While it is definitely better than Genshin, Star Rail still suffers from issues with heavy RNG, which makes it a lot harder to get through later portions of the story and lategame content. If this were predominantly a multiplayer game, I’d understand the refusal to tilt the RNG in the player’s favor. But this is a single-player game, for the most part. Even if it requires sacrificing other 5-Star Relics, or perhaps even fighting a daily boss, I feel like players would appreciate a way to reroll their primary and substats to ease up on the monotonous farming, if only slightly.

Racism
This review is more about Hoyoverse than HSR specifically, but Hoyo continues to show their racist tendencies across all of their games, HSR included. For over a year there has been a single character in the game with tan skin (who was then whitewashed in a sticker, go figure) and now we may have 2 poc characters once Sugilite releases. That is an abysmal ratio considering that there are nearly 50 characters in the game currently, and if we don’t include Sugilite in the current ratio, then 2% of the characters in game are poc. I’ll give HSR a bit of benefit in that there hasn’t been a planet or organization that references cultures with people with predominantly darker skin tones, but in a space fantasy game that can do whatever they want I don’t think that should be fully limiting to white people. At the very least Boothill probably should have been more tan considering he heavily references indigenous cultures and their experiences. I love many of the character designs in HSR but after a while they are going to feel stale and repetitive if you stick to giving all of them white skin. It heavily limits your color palette and there are so many designs in game that could look so much more interesting with a little bit of melanin! Please stop the blatant colorism and start representing people more authentically.

The relic system is a nightmare
There are so many things to like in hsr - interesting characters, engaging story, and fun combat. But the relic system is completely broken. There are so many layers of RNG that getting a good relic can take months. It’s not just about the time it takes - it’s about the lack of progression when engaging with the relic system. Building up my characters is one of the main reasons why I play this game. It’s fun to grind out ascension and trace materials because it’s a guaranteed upgrade and therefore there is a sense of progression. But, when I spend time and trailblaze power on relic farming only to get trash, I don’t get any satisfaction. I only get disappointment. And when I do get a good relic once in a blue moon, leveling it up is another journey of frustration, disappointment and anxiety. I actively dread leveling up good relics because I am scared that it will repeatedly roll into that single useless substat. I understand that relics are meant to give players something to spend trailblaze power on when everything else has been maxed out on a character, but for the love of god there has to be a better way of doing this that doesn’t make me want to pull my hair out. TLDR; relic system has too much RNG and as a result is very frustrating and upsetting to engage with.

I was hesitant to play this game since I didn’t really enjoy Genshin or Honkai Impact, but once I started playing I couldn’t stop. The story is engaging and the combat is simple yet has so many layers of depth the more you get invested. Even though this is a gatcha game, it’s far from pay to win. There are so many ways to obliterate enemies with free-to-play characters and builds. Nothing in this game feels too incomprehensible, but it never feels monotonous. Although once you finish the current main story and side missions, the number of actives is low; I still find it enjoyable to grind for materials and try new team compositions for Simulated Universe and MoC- since the game is that captivating. All in all, worth every hour spent and future hour I will spend! (Side note: I only purchased 1 micro transaction, the $5 Stellar Jade login calendar, and I’ve been able to get 5 five star characters; one including a limited time warp character after only 2 months of playing. I am pretty much F2P, and you’re able to get so much.)

love it, but…
hsr has been my favorite game since release. i love the battle mechanics because i can sit back and eat a meal or do my daily activities while also farming. i also have loved the story, especially dan heng’s. however, there is one thing i don’t like about the game. the lack of diversity. penacony, the most recent large area of story and exploration, is inspired by the jazz age, and there is not a singular playable person of color in sight. there are plenty of npcs that are perfectly represented, which proves that hoyoverse CAN do it, they just refuse to. as of 2.4, when im writing this, there is only one singular character that is a person of color, and that is arlan. the character released in 1.0, well over a year ago, that is seemingly the absolute worst character in the entire game. his ability names are also.. questionably racist sounding. do with that what you will. it just disappoints me because hoyoverse has the potential to represent other cultures correctly, they just don’t want to in playable characters.

Being left on a cling hanger with some characters lore.
Okay so, basically, i love the new characters I do, but what’s bothering me is how we’re kinda getting left on hook with some of the characters lore. I’m talking about Argenti. Yes I’m a lover and a main of him, but I want more of his lore. More of his family, his people, more of his racing contests, how he has doomed fate, what was his childhood like(I know he doesn’t have early childhood memories due to the war from his planet.)and when did the war even start? Hoyoverse I love you truly, but please. Add more Lore into my man Argenti. give us more of his well-being, how he smiles through it all even though he had such a horrid and rough past. Like I need MORE on him, I want MORE about his teenage years and how he grew up to be such a gentleman and a good man of honor to the Knights of Beauty. This applies to other characters aswell, Some I haven’t read all of but I can assure you that there are some Characters of any lore still being left on edge. I want more and I need more, please understand my opinion and just know that I still find your game very valuable, I just want more information on some characters lore.

It’s not as bad as Genshin Impact, but…
Genshin Impact, also by the same company, is extremely broken on my device. The cutscenes, which rival a Square Enix game, will display at the amazing rate of one frame per ten seconds; if even that fast. The sound cuts in and out, too. Regular gameplay doesn’t quite do the same but it does drag significantly if there are areas with lots of characters. I’m happy to say that I haven’t experienced that with this game. I just hope they don’t get sued by the estate of the late Leiji Masumoto for stealing intellectual property. This is a reworked, slightly prettier Galaxy Express 999. In the parts I’ve played, after several minutes of additional downloaded data (the scenery is pretty, the music is calming but, for the love of God, why is there noise like an old vinyl record being played by a worn needle?) the gameplay is nice, the animation is smooth, though there are parts with a very annoying ‘white-out’ of much of the screen. The starting characters are barely tolerable. And why, oh why, can’t you just keep the camera at a third person view instead of making it skew with every stray tap of the screen?

Amazing visuals and play style
Frist I would like to start off with some reason why you should get this game. This kind of fighting style and the whole game in of itself might not be great for others. It’s a great game if you like turn base games with lots of lore and story included. If you want more action I would say another game would suite you best. I use Honkai Star Rail to relax after a long day. This game has a very relaxing play style and great for players like me. But it doesn’t have a lot to do after story and when you run out of materials to farm. Of course you can update things to be the very best way, but many people don’t enjoy stuff like that. What I’m basically saying is that, if you like a relaxing game that you can just sit back to, this is the game for you. If not there’s many other games that this company has made that would better suite what you like. I’ve played many of their games before but I personally prefer a slow game that makes me follow everything nice and slowly.

Better than expected honestly
I played Genshin previously, back before Liyue was playable and up until Inazuma was released, and kinda enjoyed it? It was fun but not the best. Star Rail (so far) FAAAAR exceeds Genshin. Voice acting is incredible, the detail into cutscenes is much better, overall world aspects are better, graphics look sharper, just overall a very good game. The story is engaging so far and the turn-based combat is a nice change from Genshin's "free-style" fighting. Most characters I have fallen in love with on the spot as well, which didn't happen when I played Genshin. The gacha is well... the gacha... that seems to be the one thing that HASN'T changed from Genshin... so be prepared for that. Also be prepared to pour some time into this game. Combat does take a hot second if done by hand. There is an auto option EVENTUALLY. It is not available right away, so the whole first chapter is done almost entirely manually. So far, Star Rail is actually really fun and pleasing to play. Really, really hoping it stays this way!!

Experiencing Genshin burnout? This is the cure!
I have been an avid Genshin player ever since it’s release. When I heard about Star Rail, I almost ignored it. I downloaded it just to see what it was like, and I love it. The story is dynamic, and is on par and maybe (depending on where it goes) could be greater than Genshin’s. The characters are all super stylish and I can’t say I dislike any of them. March 7th is a great new Paimon and the Astral Express crew are all great characters. Combat is also really good, and as someone who has never played a roll based RPG, I am now a fan of the genre because of Star Rail. Story, combat, characters are all amazing. Even the gacha system has made me so much happier as I feel there are more opportunities to pull. The only issue I have is exploration, and that tiny nit pick is me just not being able to jump. But thats not that big of a deal. All I have to say is that if you play Genshin(and are open minded) Star Rail will be a fun and refreshing game for you. I can’t wait to see what is next.

Very good game!
This is definitely a solid pick over some of the other games, solid combat and story with a wonderful cast of characters and the grind is definitely easier than Genshin. But I wanted to write this review since it’s been bothering me, about those event characters. We obviously want them but we’re limited to a time frame and we might not see them for a while, as is the case with most other gachas, and reruns do help, but I find it hard to simply get them within those timeframes because of my commitment issues. To combat this, we should probably bring only a FEW limited characters into the banner, gradually ease them in for players acquire instead of waiting for limited dates. I know that limits the flair some of these characters bring but I can see it as a blessing in disguise even if it drops those blessed currencies. This is just something to consider since Star Rail is young, but I believe other games can benefit from this admittedly short review!

Great game!
I originally had no interest in the honkai series until I starting playing this game! I know a bit of the honkai series that turned out to help me understand some of the characters more! I got introduced to hyv by genshin impact which is a great game as-well! I noticed that I like the turn based fighting more than the open world! Though silver wolf just looks like haxxor bunny (bronie). My favorite character has got to be Kafka. The characters have great designs! I love the little Easter eggs in the game! I can tell the devs had fun with this game. The story and battle are amazing! This game is great quality with good development, designs and graphics. Even though it’s a turn based game the world is beautiful! Though the advertisements are misleading as they say you get 80 free warps. I also don’t get the point of friending people as you can’t play with them or chat with them. Only use their characters. — but overall it’s a great game I recommend! || 6/5 stars || !!! ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ ⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。

Power creep
If you are playing Honkai star rail please understand that this game is not a main game and has potential problems you may run out of specifically the characters. The characters you once play and it will be further down the road in which you and I won’t have fun anymore and it’s not too pleasant don’t believe on just what the internet and YouTubers say, you have to be always alert and keep in mind of those upcoming units if you want to clear all of end game but as a warning take this game casually it’s hard using old units specifically 4 stars and at this moment those that are just starting game beware of your units getting replaced since they won’t be able to max out damage not to mention the grinding over and over again you won’t get the perfect equipment and it will take you a month or more for full set. At the end of the day do as you want but at some point you might spend money. I been playing since day 1 and it’s not been fun the story is good however has to be tuned down a bit as the wrong units can lead to your downfall.

Decent game
The story is great, the graphics are good, and the combat system is decent. The quests are pretty fun. The reward system is pretty bad but I’ve seen worse. The ha ha for the characters is probably the worst I’ve seen and I’ve played most if not all similar game titles. I started three different accounts and paid money in all of them to pull the guaranteed 5 star gacha; I received the same character with each account. It says that you can get another character to drop but the percentage must be drastically different; the chances of me pulling the same character each time should have been way lower than pulling a different one. Besides that I’ve pulled an additional 15 10 draw gachas and have progressed all the way to 25 without getting a single other 5 star. You can progress with the purple 4 stars; but let’s be honest no one plays these games to play through with a trash bag team of 4 stars. Ended up uninstalling; I’m not going to invest time and money in a game that doesn’t reward its players.

This game is amazing !!!🤩 but there is a lag issue??
So i used to play genshin before and trust me genshin is a good game but i do not know why but it gives me stress and there to much to do but for honkai not trying to be bias here but like its soooo good doesn’t make u stress the gameplay is good the cutscenes is good the quality the ultimate’s as well and the characters to bro and seele shes reminds me that character keqing and keqing and genshin impact is a amazing character but sadly dont use her. But yea one more thing for me as a mobile player pleasee hoyoverse fix for some reason i open this game and when i open the game its start to lag and start’s to freeze up and then i put it as very high or even medium/high settings lag so i don’t get why because for me genshin i would put it a high yes it would lag but i will come back to normal so i dont get it please fix it hoyoverse maybe in the next patch thank you so much for making this game i been waiting for this game to!! 🥰🥰

One of, if not the best gacha I’ve played
I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest gacha game player out there. I’ve played a few over the years but never really got invested in any of them as much as I have Honkai Star Rail. I am a big fan of turn based RPG’s and this game scratched that itch perfectly. It has a fascinating world with a great cast of characters that expands every update. The plot and lore are cool and the story becomes more interesting time goes on. It feels fairly generous, with Jade (premium currency) being given to the player for many things and 10 free pulls every patch right off the bat. I’m a very light spender, only buying the monthly pass for $5, but even before that I had little issue getting enough pulls for the character that I wanted at a given time. You are rewarded with even more premium currency for perfecting your team compositions with tons of side content and endgame modes which reset every 20 or so days. That being said, it is of course a game that wants you to spend money. The only real complaint I have is the rate at which great characters come out is too quick. Meta defining characters seem to be coming out every other patch and endgame content becoming harder to accommodate, leaving older characters in the dust. Power creep is quite real unfortunately. Despite that, older units are not completely obsolete, just take more effort to complete the endgame compared to newer units.

I previously left a negative review after not being able to get back into my account. Though it was frustrating hoyo was able to help me resolve the issue. With that said pro tip, save your uid somewhere. If you ever have account troubles that is a big shortcut to solving the problem. Besides all of my personal nonsense, this game is amazing! I love the characters, battle features. And there’s more end game content than genshin 💁🏼‍♂️:) My favorite part of the game has to be the dialogue. The role playing is fun and there’s so much to discover. I’m still a genshin fan at heart, but in comparison, HSR dialog is much more interesting in every way. For example it can be interactive and yield different results. You can interact with random objects such as garbage cans and light poles. The characters are actually funny ! And I’ve yet to find myself ignoring dialog the way I often do in genshin haha. Over all I have no complaints at this time. ;)

Love this game but there are a few problems
I love Honkai star rail. I have played it every day sense I got it. There is so much to do and it is so fun. I used to play Genshin impact but this is much better. I love the turns that makes it less stressful and the story and characters are great. My only problem is that bosses are insanely hard and some are easy and then for the ones with multiple stages the jump in hardness is insane. It goes from kinda challenging to super hard. I would like it better if the second and third and fourth stages of bosses are made a little easier. But the worse problem is that randomly it crashes on my iPad. I always get mad at it because most the time I’m in the middle of a boss fight and sometimes I’m so close to beating it and then it crashes. It’s not a big problem sense it doesn’t happen often but it’s still annoying. Maybe make it so if the app crashes or you close it in the middle of the fight it saves it so you don’t lose your progress?

STORAGE
I absolutely adore the game. I’ve played Genshin since it’s drop in late 2020 and I was so excited for a sister game. I enjoyed every aspect of star rail but recently the files got to large to be on the same device as Genshin. As a solution I downloaded star rail on my iPad and kept Genshin on my phone but with the recent update I can’t even kept star rail on my iPad. I’m just at a loss as to how this newer game already takes up and entire addition 10GB to Genshin which has a larger map, more characters, and more quests. It’s really a shame because I enjoyed both games so much which is why I’m giving this a good rating but the file size is absolutely wild and I’ve had to say goodbye. For reference star rail is one of 8 apps on my iPad as I’ve literally deleted FOURTEEN to make space but it just hasn’t been enough. I’m also deleted text chains and photos but really, just the file size plus the system updates for the device itself are too much. PLEASE FIND A WAY TO MAKE THE DOWNLOAD MORE COMPACT!

I can’t get in, I need help.
So, I played Honkai Star Rail from day one and had to stop for a while because of storage issues. I finally got the storage space needed and decided to play again, except there is a problem. After I had downloaded almost 11gb worth of updates and such, when the game was finally getting ready to launch, it would go to the part that says “patch running”. But it would never move, it would stay at 0% for hours, not even .01%. I have tried everything to get past this issue, I tried offloading it, updating my iPhone, and much more. And there is still absolutely no difference. I’m pretty sure it’s a bug and not my phone, since I’ve done everything I can on my part. I’m extremely upset because I was so excited about this free five star. But if you can’t fix this then I can kiss that goodbye. By the way, I really do love your games and I’m not trying to sound rude, I’m just upset because I was really excited, any help is GREATLY appreciated. P.S. I did email you guys already and you only responded the first time, I’ve sent two more emails and haven’t gotten any reply back. I know you must be busy, but please reply soon.

Hi
Ok so hello, I’ll start off by saying the game is very beautiful and I’m having fun with all the endgame content. I feel like there’s so much to do with a fair amount of difficulty and I appreciate that very much. I just have this very very small annoyance as someone who plays on PS5- which is the display of rewards for when people use your support characters. You see, it only tells you who’s the person using your characters if they’re ALSO your friend on PlayStation network. This is nothing serious and it’s probably just me but it just annoys me because I want to know EVERYONE who uses my characters because I like taking the time to thank them. Also another thing, I feel like the male characters in this game are always powercrept too soon by a girl. And I just wish they’d have a longer time to stay relevant 😅 the only man I can think of to not have been powercrept by a girl (or is soon to be powercrept) is maybe Dan Heng • IB and Blade. Have a nice day to whoever’s reading this

Stepping into the HoYoverse
Honkai Star Rail is reminiscent of turn-based Final Fantasy games which was a major appeal when starting this game. It sets itself apart from FF in a lot of ways so that the game itself feels fresh & unique. It was very easy for me to pick up and start playing and within a month or two I was able to catch up to where the story leaves off which gives me a lot to look forward to concerning future updates. I love the cross compatibility of being able to play this on my phone, PS5, or laptop. Looks amazing on PS5 and still very good on my iPhone 14 Plus. The mobile version is the easiest to navigate though, imo. This game has been so good that it got me to start Genshin Impact which I had always seen but never played before. I do prefer to play that one on PS5, but Honkai really got me to step into the HoYoverse! Highly recommend this game to anyone that likes turn based combat with a great story intertwined.

Best Game I Have Ever Played! 💗
This is quite literally one of the best games I have ever played. In my opinion, the story is so intriguing! It has me constantly wanting more, and is overall very interesting. Character’s have unique designs, and (in my opinion) are better than Genshin’s. The Sci-Fi kind of vibe makes it even better. Pulling is easy. Getting stellar jades for warps is quick and easy, so there is a higher chance for you to get one of the many 5-stars in game. Plus, on the permanent warp, you have a chance to get a free 5-star if you warp 300 times on that specific banner, so getting eidolons is easy if you already have the character, or, you can finish that banner by getting the one you don’t have. The MC (Main Character-Trailblazer) actually has a personality, unlike Genshin, where you don’t really get to choose what you say. You can choose to be unserious, sarcastic, or the sweetest person some of the characters have ever met. The turn based combat is also fun. You have more time to strategize what you want to do, and you get to have all four characters in battle. Overall, this game is SO addicting! I really can’t get enough of it, and can’t help but get chills whenever I play in the story or one of the companion missions. Forgot to mention the soundtrack for Penacony literally cleanses my ears. 10/10 game! I would recommend it! Developers, please drop a 5-star Sampo 🙏

needs to be more friendly for people with epilepsy
This is something that I’ve noticed is a huge issue when it comes to battling enemies. One of the guardian shadow enemy’s attacks has multiple flashes of lightning and the visual effects could be potentially putting people with epilepsy at risk for seizure. I know I’m not the only one who has spoken up about this, so I’m really hoping there will be significant changes in the near future. The flash effects aren’t necessary, they shouldn’t be animated as such. This is a great game, but it needs to be more accessible to people with various disabilities. I highly suggest speaking to somebody on the team who either has epilepsy or knows someone who does. The research needed to be able to determine what animations would be appropriate for people with visual sensitivities would prove to be worth the effort, I promise that. I have put money into this game, I enjoy it that much…and I want to continue to enjoy it…but the visual effects need to be toned down.

Love it
This game is super amazing! Its engaging, the storyline is interesting, and you have the opportunity to do side quests and other little adventures that let you get into the characters background! I have to admit though that while the storyline is interesting it can be really confusing at first since a lot of the terms are not really explained. This could be resolved though if a player did a little research or was truly invested in reading the guides in Dans Room (note though they are long and kinda equally as confusing). I came to play this game after I stopped playing Genshin (it wasn’t a bad game I just got bored of it) and if you’re like me, the fighting style may be a little startling since its different. I typically don’t play these types of game with this fighting style but I found that if you read the characters attributes and corresponding equipment it can help you better understand how you’re meant to play.

Amazing game the reviews are kinda wack though
I love this game. I downloaded at release and kind of put it down for a bit because that’s how I roll but I join for characters sometimes. I love the rewards, the game play, and the story! The problem is really with reviews that dislike stuff in Genshin and are putting it here. If you’re mad with that put it there but don’t do something unrelated. I get stuff is the same company but I don’t want to see an influx of ‘three fates garbage’ I agree but here isn’t the place. I want to see things actually wrong. Anyways the story is great, the characters are fun, if you don’t like turned based thing and the extra work of building you’ll have to do opposed to games like Genshin, it probably isn’t for you. Other than that, I’d recommend! At least to try out. You really don’t need to pull or spend. Just a little bit extra effort can get you through the story.

Please fix this.
This game is great and all but there’s a problem I noticed that has been going on for a while now and it’s not just with me. What is this problem? After not being active for a few weeks, the account resets and there’s no way to get it back. It’s not the problem with the email because I’m using the appropriate one. And it’s not the server issue because I checked all of them to see if I would get my progress back and didn’t. I’m f2p/free to play, so luckily nothing of value was lost except for two five stars I earned and I was trailblazer lvl 34. After searching up a solution for the problem, none was found. But many others have been saying that the same thing has happened to them and they literally spent money on the game. This has been going on longer than I expected as well, at first I thought it was just a glitch and that I would get my progress back after redoing the prologue, but no. This isn’t fair to your players. I don’t know if it’s something wrong with the game system but please fix it. — Sincerely, a loyal player

This game is a masterpiece
Do not let the 1 star reviews deceive you. It’s all some whiny kids complaining about problems that Hoyoverse can’t even fix or that the game play/story is boring. Yes, I admit that it may not be for everyone but to me it’s complete genius. I despise turn base games and I used to love open world games such as genshin but this game is just amazing. I love the ultimates, the animations, the turn based system, not having to worry about exploration like in genshin and the rewards are amazing. Sure not every Hoyoverse game is gonna be 100% f2p but the amount of free wishes and stellar Jade I can get within a pitch could easily get me a 5 star. This game is easy and not difficult to deal with, the character designs are so pretty, the lore is Mind boggling and so creative, and it’s just def worth a download. It takes some time for this game to grow on you but just stick with it and j swear you will be playing it every chance you get.

Honkai Star Rail.. It Changed My Life
I was going through a dark path in life.. I’ve been waiting for Eula returning for decades it has felt.. as the days go by my depression and sadness increases tremendously.. until I got an ad about this game. I fell in love instantly, my sadness disappeared, and my heart raced harder than Lightning McQueen in the Piston Cup (Kachow). This game made me feel everything.. this game made me cry tears I’ve never cried, made me love things I’ve never loved, and is the best and most emotional story since I cried at the end of Toy Story 3.. my life without this game meant nothing.. and from now on… my life will be lived to the fullest. Winston Churchill once said, “life may be full of sorrow and death… but waifus will be there forever” and now that I’ve played this game.. I can see it.. that light at the end of the tunnel I’ve been thirsting for.. thank you Mihoyo… for I am changed and been set free from the shackle of immortality… I have been Star Railed hard

i’ve had way too much fun playing this!!
i came into this game not knowing much of what it had in store, but this is probably one of the best games i’ve ever played, and it’s free too! the dialogue, for one, is undertale level of funny, which is a huge compliment. the combat is also pretty simple to understand and fun to use, and because of the auto battle mechanic when grinding you can just easily do it while having a video playing in the background. the characters too are magnificent, i love all of them! the side quests in particular are extremely funny and fun to do, like, i burst out laughing more than one times when doing them. i can tell the writers had a blast. this game can be serious and also extremely funny, and i’d recommend this game to anyone. especially if you love other hoyo games. i could say so much more but i’m TRYING MY BEST to keep this concise. can’t wait for all the updates!!

Updated Review: Pretty Good
I’ve now been playing this game for quite a few days now and the story is immaculate. I feel in love with most of the characters, and I enjoy how many jades we get in this game unlike genshin. The characters are lovable and it feels like you’re going on an adventure with your friends. It feels personal, and the world building is amazing. The graphics are nice, and playing on mobile is quite a delight. The story is clear and even ties in Honkai impact 3rd. It’s clever and I am obsessed with the dialogue options. Your character can be basic, or funny based on the options you choose. You even get different reactions depending on what you choose. I like how there’s even a secret ending— the game is thought out and the developers actually tried. The one thing is say is we do not get enough XP or adventure books and such. You have to grind every quest available just to go to the next level. This can be hard since you have to level up to continue the story. I’d say more books would be helpful in quests so it is slightly easier to level up. I do recognize that they do this so players keep playing, but it is kind of disheartening when your character can’t fight anything because you don’t have enough books to level them up. All that aside, I recommend this game to people who played Honkai impact 3rd and to those who like sci-fi games with some fun 4th wall breaking.

Goes way beyond my expectations
I’ve never played a Hoyoverse game before, from they never really appealed to me. I’m not big into anime, I’m especially not big into “gacha” games. But I DO love me some turn based RPG’s so I caved and gave Star Rail a try and I’ve been hooked on it for the past two weeks. It feels like a proper, AAA, JRPG. Amazing graphics and animations, voice acted dialogue with incredible acting, writing that’s witty and humorous and not afraid to poke fun at itself either. And, most importantly to me, a surprising amount of depth to the game’s mechanics and gameplay. And even though the game is still in development and is currently only halfway through the “second act” of a story, there’s plenty to do and look forward to every day I login even after completing the story that’s available so far. Compared to other similar options on the mobile market, Star Rail has overall been a very impressive experience to me.

Been loving the game but few issues
I been absolutey enjoying this game but since the game came out i couldn't use codes and while i did find a website for it my account is linked to game center and it isn't a option on there so if you can allow that it would be nice on the other hand im out of content pretty much ever since jing yuan released i seriously wanted him so i ended up completing pretty much every optional content to the point where i almost cant do anything i even done as much as i can in simulated universe and forgotten hall for right now so my point is if you remember some the optional things in loufu like the mature magnus it would nice if we can do it every day permentally so that players like me have more content we can do to save up for characters we want i manage to even hit 75 pity on jing yuan banner and lose which is why i need more content because it really makes me sad.

Otto Apocalypse ruined my life again??
For context my brain has been completely consumed by Otto Apocalypse and I cant think of anything besides him. Once upon a time I was playing A Post Honkai Odyssey. Otto? He's dead. But oh my... his replacement.. Void Archives... I became so insane I NAMED myself Void Archives. This idiot and his stupid friend Welt Yang through me into the worst state of my mind for a while becausw I COULDNT STOP THINKING OF THEM!!! Void Archives wasn't Otto, but it was close. As soon as I heard news of Honkai: Star Rail I immediately started saving up. It was a continuation of APHO, so obviously I had to. I wanted Welt and Void Archives. But no... Luocha I actually vomited out of excitement at the very sight of Luocha. My friends and family can attest I changed that day. The day I knew I could KIND OF play as Otto Apocalypse changed my life. I shake typing this. Luocha better prepare because I am dropping every bit of money I possibly can on him. Welt Yang and Void Archives better prepare too. It is on sight as soon as I see Void Archives in this game. For real though, Honkai: Star Rail so far is an amazing game. I still hate Cocolia and feel unfathomable rage towards her. I twitch my eye at Sampo because he vaguely looks like Sovereign. This game is a great continuation of the Honkai story. And I can't wait to see Kiana get sent to the moon in this game too. Luocha prepare. There's a big storm coming because I'm about to make it rain on you.

Beautiful
Great game. I love turn-based games and this doesn’t disappoint. All these people whining about the gameplay being P2W are wrong; they’re just upset they can’t get the “cool” characters. The characters you get at the beginning can be built to your advantage and are full of personality. I’m doing just fine at level 32 with my original campaign team and one character from the beginner spawn. You need to utilize the abilities of your team and weaknesses of your enemies to your advantage; actually read. The in-game guide is actually quite useful if you don’t understand certain aspects of the game. I absolutely love the story and how it’s progressing so far, not to mention the interactive side quests. It’s not a quick progression either, so that’s great. It is a big game so just make sure you have enough space on your device before actually download it. Also, love the references from Honkai and Genshin Impact!

absolutely amazing :)
I used to play genshin and eventually started playing hsr because of the lesser storage space, but it was actually a lot better than I expected. For one thing, it’s so much easier to grind for levels and I love how you can trade materials if you don’t have enough to level up a character. It’s also much easier to obtain 5 star characters and the tutorial/walkthrough isn’t confusing. I think the best part is that the trailblazer can have multiple different personalities, and even the NPC’s are expressive — it gives the game a more thematic feel and lets us interpret how they feel a lot better. Over all, amazing game! The only thing I think is up for debate is the characters not being able to jump. I probably would’ve gotten more done if they had that feature later on the game. But the no character switching cooldown is really neat.

Hoyoverse doesn’t listen to fanbase
Hoyoverse has not released a single playable person of color for this game since its launch, despite taking so much inspiration from the Jazz Age of America for Penacony. It’s well known that many of the cultural elements from the Jazz Age were from Black culture, and yet every Penaconian playable character is white. To claim diversity and take inspiration from Black culture while alienating a good portion of the fanbase is hypocritical and insulting. Not to mention they recently hired Chris Niosi, a voice actor who has a well-known past of sexually and emotionally abusing friends, partners, and coworkers. They are giving this man a platform and allowing him access to abuse more people, whether they’re fans or coworkers. This is grossly negligent of the VA agency and the silence from Hoyoverse about this incident is deafening. While Hoyoverse is not directly responsible, the fact that no statement had been released regarding this issue shows they either don’t care or are purposefully ignoring feedback right now due to criticism of their other game. I refuse to support a company that won’t acknowledge their fanbase for serious matters like this.

BOYCOTT HOYOVERSE.
There is only 1 single character upons the numerous others that are “dark skinned”. Why is that? Hoyoverse claimed that the area Penacony was to be based on the “Jazz Age” yet there were NO playable dark skinned characters. This company will pick various things from people of color’s culture, but draw the line at actually representing those people. Even when they ATTEMPT to add a dark skinned character, they give them the worst kit. I am talking about Arlan. Arlan is a 4 star and is the closest thing we have to a proper representation of a dark skinned person. Even then, he is extremely grey and ashy. Even in his OFFICIAL sticker he is whitewashed. Also not to mention his skill names??? Hoyoverse what is “Shackle Breaker”??? That is so heavily racist towards a character like Arlan, indicating that he was once slaved and has broken from his “shackles”. Absolutely disgusting. Never giving money to this disgrace of a company again. Constantly brushing off and getting away with these micro aggressions and colorism is just unacceptable. Stop giving this company so much praise because they have completely FAILED to deliver proper representation and character design. BOYCOTT HOYOVERSE.
