Card won’t add to my iPhone wallet app
It’s the only problem I’ve had so far, it just says to contact the card issuer for more information but there’s no where on the app where I can contact anyone about the hop card and I’ve been trying everything bc I was thinking it was my fault as to why it hasn’t been working but there’s nothing more I can do at this point and I already loaded it with money just for it to not work

Does not work with phones older than iPhone 6s
Does not work with phones older than iPhone 6s. This little piece of information would have saved me some headache. I was using the physical card with no problems and didn’t want to switch to the virtual card mainly because of the bad reviews here. But TriMet was offering a $5 credit to try the app and I thought maybe they fixed the bugs. I had been all over the website reading about it and no where does it say it does not work on iPhone 6 or older. So I gave it a try, but I could not get it to work on any of my rides. Luckily the drivers are super cool and just let me on. When I tried to switch back to my physical card, turns out it was deactivated to the point that I had to call customer service. They told me that my phone is too old to use the app and when I switched, my card was voided and I would not be able to go back to my physical card. So now I have to buy a new card and have funds locked up in an app that won’t work. I know a lot of people that have older iPhones. Who do they think rides the bus? I love using TriMet, but they are missing the mark and I’m sure they spent a small fortune for this system. Get it to work with all phones or at the very least make it super easy to inform people what phones it’s compatible with.

The Worst Designed Public Transportation System Ever
Hop was clearly implemented to try to cut down on people skipping bus fare, and has done the actual opposite because this stupid app works so little of the time that drivers have stopped caring altogether. Great, but security still checks the trains, and guess what? you could be late to work and miss your train because u wanted to pay and the app wasn’t working, OR get a ticket because of this stupid app not working and risking riding the train. You lose no matter what. You can’t even buy monthly passes anymore, you can only arbitrarily “earn” them buy spending enough on tickets that you get the rest of the month free, i ride to and from work everyday and this is barely enough to give me 1-2 days of free rides at the end of each month. Sometimes not even. Oh and today the app actually became corrupted, wouldn’t close, stuck on loading infinitely, only thing that stopped it was uninstalling and reinstalling. This app is a lot of people’s way of getting to work and making a living, and it’s wrong how unreliable and borderline required it is, i have gotten 2 tickets because of this stupid app and if i get a 3rd i won’t be able to afford it. Fix your app.

Really, really bad
Not sure why we are going back in time and requiring so many steps just to board and/or needing to go to a grocery store to buy a physical card?? Got the app, said it wouldn’t work unless I updated my phone, finally got it and loaded it into apple wallet only to have it not work at all on the bus holding it at various angles near the reader for several minutes at a time. Finally gave up after both bus driver and I kept trying it. Emailed support to ask for my money back and they keep giving me answers 8 hours apart of trouble shooting ideas, most of which are already found on the internet so honestly don’t waste your time with them. I stuck with the tickets app so long since it worked fine and now finally forced to switch over, since it does not work on my phone I now need to find a physical one to purchase elsewhere. Why not just put these in the machines at the transit center like every other major metro area does? You can buy day passes there but for some reason not the refillable kind. This whole situation is absolutely crazy and archaic, just get a normal app that works!! Can’t imagine how much money they are losing because of people having issues with this.

The app works, don’t listen to the complainers!
The virtual card works amazingly! All you have to do is tap at any hop card reader and it quickly takes your fare. This is especially helpful when I am running late for the train and I need to pay my fare in an instant before the train departs. I’ve never had any issues using this app. From day one it worked perfectly, people just need to learn to follow instructions better. The app works every time I need to use it, as long as I have enough money loaded to my card. The real issue is that sometimes the readers don’t work properly, and you can explain this to TriMet security and they will not write you a ticket. In the rare event the card reader doesn’t work at one train station, just tap your card at the next train station. It’s not rocket science, guys!

Seriously
Load my card with more money this morning and it keeps telling me it’s not working (all 3 times) but next thing I know it worked “all 3 times!” But in my iPhone wallet it still shows my last value before I got charged 3 times and I go and use it to board the MAX orange line and it doesn’t change anything on the wallet screen but in app history shows that I was charged but I’m unable to show any type of proof except for in my history. Now I’m freaking out because the Trimet police always board and do their fare checks and of course it happened but they never got to me...even though I was prepared to explain the situation and show them that it deducted in my history but somethings not working! However, it has been my past experience with the Trimet fare checkers that in situations that are not black and white, they tend to struggle with how to handle it and in the mean time I’m likely going to get frustrated because I have places to be and dealing with an app that is unreliable. There was nothing wrong with the old Trimet app and I hate this stupid Hop pass!

Just don’t. Get the card instead.
I can’t tell if it’s a way to frustrate more people in the world by us getting this app or if it’s a way for the trimet to make more money by misleading people. Either way, two thumbs down. I saw the reviews, sadly only after I used it and have had the most frustrating experience with the service workers of the app and the app itself. If you’re new and looking for an app to take the bus, honestly just don’t. It has a lot of issues. And sadly I’m sure it’s an alright experience once the initial head ache is over (maybe, by the looks of these reviews probably not) but it’s hard to understand how people have gotten away creating an app with this level of difficulty and no tutorial before using, it shouldn’t be possible that this continues to happen. It comes off as a scam from my experience. I’ve wasted so much precious time trying to get my money back or at least credit to my bus card, I even showed proof of what I am owed. But no. Instead the folks working for the app simply don’t care. Stay away from this app!

Really buggy, a lot more frustrating
Got the email saying that Trimet was going away with the tickets app. I resisted because the tickets app worked just fine, and I was worried every time I would transfer I would be charged again, turns out that’s not the case. I get the hop app, try to download a virtual card. It won’t let me so I have to go out and get a physical card. I then add the physical card to my apple wallet, why not. At which point it makes me make a passcode for my phone so I can use the virtual card without unlocking my phone. Annoying, but okay. Then my phone won’t tap. And its irritating. And the driver and riders are judging you. And finally the driver just waves you on. So you make your way to your transfer and decide to use the physical card since the virtual one won’t tap, and it says the physical one is not registered. What? I try to register it in the app and it says the physical card has been reported as lost or stolen. So I can’t use my physical card if my phone dies. Cool. Fix the bugs Trimet.

I Honestly love using my phone to pay
I remember this app was buggy when it first came out but over time most bugs go patched. This app makes paying with an iPhone so easy and lets me load as much money as I need. Hop also works with Vancouver C-Trans so the versatility is amazing. I really like the fact that if I spend $5 it automatically turns my pass into a day pass, and on top of that if you spend I believe $100 it automatically turns it into a month pass, so this is a nice way of saving money if you don’t use the bus as often as you should. Being able to scan my phone is my favorite part of using this app. Overall I’d recommend people using this app and not be discouraged by the negative reviews.

Just awful
This app actually made me stop using the transit system in the city for a couple years because it was so bad. With the current job I have I don’t have much of a choice so I reinstalled it recently and it appears nothing has changed. I’ve had the virtual card open in my wallet loaded with plenty of money and just had it refuse to tap around a quarter of the time I try to get on the bus or MAX, and that’s when the app will even open, sometimes it just gets stuck on the loading screen repeatedly, even after restarting my phone. I’m pretty much convinced that Trimet doesn’t care and is hoping that this awful app will force people into paying for the virtual card. I used to love riding transit in the city and was always proud of how good Portland’s was compared to other cities, however this **** app has really changed that opinion for me since it was pushed out and the perfectly good old app was invalidated

Don’t waste your money with this app!
I’m a high school student who had been using the TriMet ticket app for three years to get to and from school. When I heard the app was being discontinued, I was a little upset, and was also confused as to why. I had to download this app so that I could go to school. However, when I tried to add a virtual card with Apple Pay, all it did was take my money and refuse to give me a virtual card to use. I tried again with a new card. It did not work. I tried a third time; zilch. I logged into my account from Safari—there were my cards, all loaded up, but I could not use them from there or from the app. Essentially, I have now put away $85 to a thing I can’t even use. I’m looking for a refund and am going to try to switch to a physical card. I am still waiting on support to get back to me. In the meantime, PLEASE try to avoid this app. It’s incredibly unreliable and makes things much more difficult than they have to be.

Useless.
It “fails to read card,” reads too many cards in wallet (despite setting it as the default transit express card), or says “done” on my end, but not on the reader’s end (which means a driver is still staring at you waiting for you to pay, and a lot of impatient riders glaring and shouting suggestions for holding your phone at different angles and positions on the reader). Since cash isn’t accepted on buses during pandemic precautions, you’re basically screwed unless you manage to pay down your hop balance to zero, ditch the app, and pay as you go with a credit or debit card on Apple Pay. Read other reviews. This is a common problem. Customer service may tell you to go buy a physical card, for which they will charge you. $3 might not seem like a big deal, but when you already paid for an item, and then loaded funds into the service, it’s unethical to say the fix is to go pay for it again.

Don’t use this when visiting
I was visiting Portland and me and my group of friends tried to use this app so we could ride the train around. On some phones it would work and on others it would not even go into the wallet. All in all this app needs an overhaul. I got a virtual card and it shows up on the website but not the app. Then if you click to add card it asks for a security number which is not given on the virtual card. If the virtual card had the security number it could have a work around for that. Additionally, when the general public prefers to pay with their credit card or they just go and load a plastic card up at the store instead of using your app that is eco friendly, in a place that seems very green conscious, then you know your app needs a rehaul. Public transportation should be convenient not a hassle.

“Fixed” near-perfect TriMet Tickets app with this buggy mess
The old tickets app worked perfectly. This new app is a mess. First it wouldn’t let me pay at all. Finally figured out how to load the app with funds the first time, though it never did link properly with iPay (which I refuse to use generally...why force me to use it for this?!). Riding TriMet is now an anxiety-inducing event, because half the time the app doesn’t register that I’ve “paid” my fare until much later. And another portion of the time it takes a few tries for the readers on bus or MAX to acknowledge my swipe. Hopefully fare checkers on MAX are understanding?! When I ran out of money and had to reload the card, it took two calls to the help desk to finally figure it all out. The app kept telling me the purchases weren’t going through but it turns out the app was charging my card the whole time. An annoyance for me but a potentially big deal for someone on a tight budget. Just get the plastic card and save yourself the headaches. And TriMet, people rely on your otherwise great service to get to work, buy groceries...live their lives. I get that bugs happen, but this is on a whole new scale. If you can’t fix the problem, maybe it’s time to acknowledge that and go back to what worked just fine before.

Not as bad as reviews suggest
Most of these reviews are quite old which might be why they’re so negative. I find the app pretty useful when it comes to tracking when busses and trains are arriving and also loading money onto my hop card. One thing I think would make the app better would be an in depth view of all the bus stops for a certain line and when the bus will get to each stop. When I ride a line I’m not familiar with, I have to pull up the estimated arrival time for a specific stop to track where I’m going and it can be pretty stressful. Otherwise, the app works fine.

I don’t understand the complaints!
I’ve been using this app to pay for TriMet buses and the Max train for about 11 months, since I moved here in May of last year. When I first downloaded it, I was distraught by these reviews - who wants to use an app that crashes all the time and doesn’t function when you need it to? Quite contrary to my worries, I have never once had a problem using this app. It’s worked every time I’ve scanned it to get on the bus, and uploading more money is simple. Use it!

Honestly, I’d give it no stars
I’m generally pretty skeptical of the ratings on transit apps. I think for some reason people are harder on/more frustrated with these types of essential but no-frills apps. But I’m shocked that this one has close to 3 stars. I came into Portland for a 3 day trip. On Tuesday I bought my virtual HOP card through the app around 8 am to get ready for going into the city. But it didn’t appear in my app. I checked online and it was there. The payment processed. But no card. Thus begins the 48 hour extravaganza of me contacting customer service. I sent an email with the issue and the steps I used to troubleshoot. They sent me a series of emails (each reply takes about 6-8 hours) waking me through each step I took to troubleshoot. A frustrating waste of time. I then asked for a refund and they wanted to a screenshot first. Sure. Then they wanted another screenshot to check a previous step. The help is disorganized, slow, and unhelpful. It’s 48 hours later and I still don’t have my card. Just a deep rooted frustration with TriMet and the HOP Pass system. All I want is my money back at this point and to never have to use HOP again.

Card not working. Payment never accepted.
I don’t think this update would be that big of a deal; I could add my card to my Apple wallet and use it when it was more convenient than pulling out my wallet to use MyHop Fastpass card. However; when I added my card to my wallet it deactivated my physical card. I found this out when I was about to board the bus and my phone was dead. Now I have to decide to risk a low battery, having to buy a new card keeping two balances, or just using that physical card. I also run into an issue every time I go to add more funds to my account. It will load money in small amounts but I have to re-enter my card information when it’s above $15. I’ve been using The FastPass since the beta and this issue is relatively new.

Echoing many reviews here
This app is a great concept but needs a lot of work. I’ll echo another review here that it only works 80% of the time and the other 20% is embarrassing. When scanning the card it will say “done”and no pass is actually purchased or “transaction not completed” all while holding up a line of other passengers behind you... irritated because it’s cold and you’re taking too long to scan your card. I’ve tried multiple methods and distances of holding the phone to the scanner and it doesn’t make a difference. Deleted app, reinstalled, removed from wallet. I’ve been holding off on switching to a physical pass for several reasons but I’m embarrassed enough at this point that I’ll give in for the remaining month I’ll need to even ride tri-met.

So far so good
Initially wouldn’t process my payment for the virtual hop card, but I discovered with some speedy customer service feedback that my wallet app was using an old billing address, which for whatever reason was preventing Apple Pay from paying for my virtual hop card. Customer service thought the problem was with my bank, but turns out the wallet app just grabs/imports your address from your phone contacts and assumes that’s also your billing address. If that info is wrong then Apple Pay won’t work if you try to use it to buy the hop card. Fixed it now, works fine.

Annual pass on virtual card not working
I have a 1-year Hop card and love the convenience of it for my commute, but hate carrying an extra card with me every day. I was SUPER excited this morning when it was announced cards could be loaded on Apple wallet as “virtual” cards. I transferred mine right away! Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work. When boarding the bus this morning, and tapping my phone to the reader, a message in the reader said I needed to load money on my card. Since I’ve already paid the full value of the card, I don’t care to have to go back to adding money for individual trips (paying twice). This may only be an issue with the annual cards, which is unfortunate, since I would guess make up some of TriMet’s more loyal rider base.

Glitchy, Inaccessible
I want to like it but it just doesn’t work most of the time. I usually have to stand in the front of the bus for 20 seconds tapping repeatedly until it scans while other passengers wait behind me. Often times the driver just waves me on as this seems to be a frequent occurrence. I also miss the functionality of the old app where you could purchase tickets for others (like your kids!) without registering an additional virtual card. On top of all of this you have to pay to use it! I don’t believe anyone should have to pay for public transit, but I REALLY don’t believe you should have to pay just to have the opportunity to pay later to ride public transit. Bring back TriMet Tickets!!!!!!!

Glitchy app followed by botched Apple wallet “feature”
I was super stoked to see the new Apple Wallet “feature” come available... until I learned that your physical card deactivates in the process. You get either a virtual card OR your physical card - not both. It also seems to be that you either get your virtual card on your Apple Watch or on your phone - not both. This is literally the only card that functions this way, and you won’t learn until you’ve gone too far and finally have to read the FAQs to troubleshoot. TriMet messes up in their marketing around this, which wouldn’t be a problem if their service worked like literally every other card/Apple wallet addition.

It maybe works best with newer phones
I’ve used this since it first came out. With a couple of different phones. It works best when I keep my phone and the app updated. I’ve never had a problem except when I had two accounts and got them mixed up. I emailed support and they helped me straighten it out. Keeping track of my phone is easier for me than keeping track of a pass.

Downgrade?
The tickets app was great, you just start a ticket before you get on, from anywhere at anytime. You didn't have to touch your phone to some grimy disgusting machine only to have it ask you to use apple pay instead of the money you loaded onto the app because you didn’t want to use apple pay. But here comes your train so I guess we’re using apple pay now and trying to forget the gross surface our phone just had to literally touch to get this garbage to work. Such an inconvenience. Apparently you can’t decide to pay for a day pass so now you have to remember to do your ticket in the morning and after work so that’s another sick bonus. 0 stars

iPhone User - Great Experience So Far
For several months I hesitated to get this app because of the poor reviews... then I just tried it for myself. It works great! The app makes it insanely easy to load money on the card, and I’ve had no problems with the card-reader on the city bus. If you’re discouraged I download because of the poor reviews, just try it for yourself and see how awesome it is.

$3 fee for a virtual card is disrespectful
TriMet shows once again that they don’t care about their customers by charging a needless fee for a virtual card. I understand needing to pay for a physical card as there are costs involved with creating that card, but for them to replace an already functional and favored app that works better with what users want for an app that is littered with problems is blatant disrespect. Asking a small fee simply to check that your accounts connect properly isn’t new, but to ask $3 for something that costs TriMet nothing is a joke. Thanks for once again showing that you only care about the money and not the service you provide.

New feature awesome but...
I LOVE that there’s a new feature to add your hop card to your apple wallet, but one issue I have with it is the fact that the virtual card and the physical card can’t coexist. What if my phone dies? What if I’m not wearing my watch? What if I left my phone at home but I have my wallet with me? I would like to be able to add my hop card to my wallet app without it canceling my physical card. I need to have them both for convenience and emergency in case I only have one or the other at a given time.

real bad
I never write reviews but this app gives me so much pain that I felt like writing a review. I liked the old trimet app, it was pretty straightforward and no-frills. This app hasn’t even opened in a week, it just crashes every single time. I have gone back to purchasing paper tickets because even after re-downloading this app, it won’t open. I would rather not collect a bunch of paper tickets, but at least I know with a paper ticket I won’t get fined if there’s a fare inspection. This app would not hesitate to send me to the dogs and earn me a nice old fine. I have a iPhone 8, so it shouldn’t be a compatibility issue. Transit shouldn’t be this stressful or inaccessible.

Greedy cash grab
The original Tri Met app was user friendly and you can simply add five dollars and your good. With this “Hop” app, it cost an additional 3 dollars for the “privilege” of use. And it’s so confusing, I’m not even sure if I can use it as a day pass, which I assume that it doesn’t almost as if Tri Met wants you to just keep paying every few hours. Also, my app was rejected even though it shows I have a ten dollar balance. Thankfully the bus drivers seem very understanding whereas fair inspectors are absolutely not. I’d give it no stars if could... Tri Met instead of helping riders with useful technology, decided to spend money on fair inspectors much to the public’s dismay.

TriMet Tickets app was way better and not broken
Huge step in the wrong direction with Hop. I’ve used transit apps in multiple major cities and this is the worst. Tickets was up there with the best. App won’t always scan - causing you to choose between missing your train/bus or hoping the driver has mercy and lets you ride because they know it’s buggy. Not rider friendly, not easier to use. And let’s go ahead and bring this up: With the bugs in the system, they have to be losing money on this over the previous system. From an agency that already hemorrhages money and has fare enforcement issues; is this what “progress” looks like? Wow.

Complete FAIL
Dear Trimet, Why do you make it so hard to get on a bus via app? Almost seems as though you don’t want people purchasing tickets this way. Old app was far superior, and now I’ve missed an hour worth of busses, trying to set up an app that won’t work. Look at your ratings for this app, that should give you a clue. Why are you spending unnecessary taxpayer money to build such garbage? I don’t want to use Apple Pay! And was I offered any reparation for this day that has been wasted, merely to set up a broken piece of trash? Nope. I’ll be paying cash from here on out, and you’ll be hearing from this critic frequently until this is resolved.

Does not support adult+youth for same day
This app does not support the purchase of a youth and an adult ticket from one device. I also tried getting a separate youth pass added to my hop account loading that one with additional funds. At the scanner, only one adult pass was able to scan even when I had toggled (multiple times) to the youth accounts as we only had one device (mom +child wanted to ride together). This seems like too much of an oversight for the app to not permit this kind of ride for people in the community.

For being a cashless system, Hop is half-@ssed, if that
I’m currently on the 72 for the first time this year and I’m as angry now as I was when I was first forced to buy a hop card. Two plastic and two virtual cards later, that’s $16 in fees, I’m wondering why more folks aren’t also angry. I’m not a tech genius but I figure things out quick enough yet everything about this experience is buggy and frustrating to use. Do better, this is unacceptable Trimet—though mad, I’m going to be okay. How can you claim to serve *all people* if you make it this hard to ride a d_mn bus?

Works well
This has worked well for me, so it’s unfortunate to read in the reviews the trouble others have experienced. I’ve used the app linked to a physical Hop Card, and also now once I converted the Hop Card to a virtual Hop Card, which I have separately loaded into my Apple Wallet. Frankly it has done everything I’ve needed and I’ve never had trouble. I love having my card be virtual, as it’s one less thing for me to carry around. With this app and card Portland really does feel like it’s at the head of the curve, when compared to transit systems and cards such as the ORCA card in the Puget Sound region. Tapping via Hop is quick and easy to board and transfer, and with the app I can see a history of my activity.

Every time I try to add money to the card, either through Apple Pay or by manually adding a card, there is an error message claiming that Hop cannot accept payment. Loved the Apple Pay express transit system
Just spent four days in Portland and my husband and I absolutely loved being able to use my Apple Watch and iPhone to ride the buses and max trains. The system worked flawlessly except for one bus whose hop reader was down (even for the physical cards). Highly recommend this as it is one less card on your wallet!

Double charge
BEWARE!!! If you have credit cards loaded on your phone the tap locations might charge your hop pass and credit cards at the same time. So you could pay double the cost. Spent 3 weeks with customer service figuring this out. After all that time they tell me that it’s a known issue. Nothing about how they are working to correct it just that it’s a known issue and I should not move my phone around so much when I scan my card. Just watch your card statements. It will show up $2.50 as a hop charge.

Finally a public transit system in 2020
So refreshing to see a city operating with 2020 technology. We came to visit Portland for the weekend and downloaded this app with no issues with loading and paying. All of the negative reviews are mostly due to people not wanting to adopt change (ie switching systems, using Apple Pay etc). Throughly impressed!

Failed when needed the most
My wife and I were in a tough spot one cold night and had to take the max home due to a car problem. I downloaded the app, created a profile, and added my card. Unfortunately the app kept declining every card we used. I understand that we’re moving more to a digital age but maybe keeping the paper tickets would have been helpful until all the kinks were worked out? The Max is the one part of Portland city that’s actually convenient, making it unaccessible is an unfortunate turn of events.

Mediocre, needs update
How has this app gone TWO YEARS without an update? It’s certainly not because it was perfect already. There’s a constant issue with remaining balance not updating; you can board a bus thinking you have enough funds only to discover that no you don’t. And, as others note, sometimes it just won’t work, and you keep trying until the driver takes mercy and just waves you aboard.

Not happy
The TriMet Ticket app worked just fine. I really liked it because it didn’t add an extra step where you have to stop and tap your card or your phone before you get on the train. Also when I had company in town I would buy tickets for everybody and I could use them all at once on one device. Now each person has to get their own. It seems like TriMet went backwards instead of forward with this one… And making Portland visitors buy Hop cards for there a few days in town seems kind of pointless too.

No Card Funds But Bank Still Has Holds
Great to know that I tried to load my card about 5 different times and every time it said the process failed. However my bank still has the holds due to the transaction not being entirely declined. So now I’m out about $200 and still have to pay at the kiosks to use my trimet pass. I know I have other options but for the sake of this app it is completely worthless if I can’t load funds onto my card. 0 out of 5 stars if I could. An update is desperately needed and maybe then I’ll reconsider my review.

So far so good!
So far the app has worked flawlessly. It accepted my payment and scanned easily the first time on both of my bus rides. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because initially the app is a bit challenging to navigate. After I successfully used it once though, it became pretty simple and straightforward. Hopefully I won’t run into any of the issues other people have!

This app steals your money and doesn’t give you a single ticket!
I was initially charged 3 times for the first time loading my virtual card on my phone until I finally got my day pass. This morning, I tried the damned thing and I was charged twice and once again I received no day pass that I paid for. I had to walk a mile to to sunset transit center just to purchase a day pass. I will NEVER use this app again. TriMet made a huge mistake by getting rid of the old system which didn’t charge more than once and was much easier to use.

There is no way to change your password if you forget it in app.
What title says. You get emailed a new temp password to log in, then changing the password requires you to enter the old password. The only problem is the temporary password Hop emails you doesn't work for this step, so now I just don't know my password to get in and there is no way to change it in-app. Also no way to stay signed in and view account balance, even though this should easily be possible since our virtual hop cards are tied to our emails.

Whyyyyy
Why did you get rid of the other app? Well now that you’ve already made that mistake, please fix this hop app.. I just tried to board a bus and looked like a lunatic hold my phone in every position imaginable trying to get it to scan meanwhile all the people on board were looking irritated as the bus driver waited for my app to be acknowledged. She told me to restart my app. Tried that. Didn’t work. Restarted my phone completely. That didn’t work. Finally, irritated enough the driver told me to sit down. I felt like I had let HER down in same way!

Broken Verification, Poor Design
The app gave me several additional hoops to jump through including updating my operating system, syncing with Apple Wallet, and signing up a new account even though I already have an account with the original Tri-Met tickets app. Quite simply, the new App does not work. I spent 10 minutes on the bus trying to verify my pre-paid digital card through Apple Wallet. And now I’m stuck with a non-refundable that won’t verify with the little Hop scanner. Tri-Met has failed me! Fix your broken system!!

Terrible
Absolutely awful system. It’s beyond broken. If it worked, it would be amazing but there’s a decent amount of times where it simply fails to do so. Almost got fined on the max because my physical card, a student card for the term, refused to work. Luckily I had someone vouch for me. Furthermore, I can’t even convert my student card into a virtual card...so what’s the point? I paid $150 for this crap, can I at least have a virtual version? If it cancels the physical card then so be it, but come on! This is infuriating. Awful app.
