Love this service!
Like most parents I worry about letting my kids get into a car with someone I don't know. However, I was put in a tight situation last year and needed to figure something out. I'm a single mom and I can't be in 5 places at once. After much debate and reading reviews I decided I would try this service out. It has been amazing! I tell everyone about it now. I get an email prior to pickup with the person's information who will be picking my kids up, their car, and license plate. I then get a notifcation when they have arrived and I can follow their trip remotely in real time. It's a life savor. My kids always have felt safe and the drivers have been nothing but kind to them. I love that they have to tell my kids the word/phrase that we selected before getting into the car. This really helps with another level of safety! My only complaint is, I can't tip. These people are amazing and get my kids safely to things and I want to be able to give them an extra "thank you" but it's not an option currently. I will say, I have only used this for my older children - older than 10.

Poor experience
So this is a ride share app that functions with local school districts- school districts also hold the permissions for notifications, changes /updates. For example what we went thru today. At 8am the school made a change to the morning ride, no notification goes out to the parents… thankfully common sense helps. However my evening rides on the app showed like normal no changes. At 6 pm I get a call from my daughter that the driver isn’t there I check the app… there Zaide so I call ride Shae oh look school made changes… great thankfully their teenagers and I live in a great area with public transportation… but again no confirmation (rideshare company leaves it to the school… school leaves it to ride share… I love this no accountability aspect. I’ve already filed a complaint with the school… for me is a free ride for the kids to go to school nothing more. I’ll keep a closer eye on my younger kido and we will get him a cell phone bc this ride share doesn’t hold accountability like the school.. they put it off on the school - school puts it off on them. The app experience is limited.. don’t expect Uber.. style presentation. It’s basic I don’t think it shows a live version of anything it’s always “pending location” As a parent I would be very careful if you have young kids. You could easily end up in a situation of panic and lack of communication will be at the center.

Can not complaint too much!
My daughter has been using this service for awhile and I can not complaints too much. The only thing I can say that need improvement is the communication with the driver. I had a situation when I couldn’t communicate with the driver because she was in the incorrect area. It fortunately worked out but when I called and texted I got no answer. I do understand the long exhausting wait for drivers because they’re short due to Covid. I hope that will improve more. Other than that, we truly love this service and I would recommend it to anyone.

Every time I am late for school.
This is an amazing service. A lot of people are very nice but they’re drivers who if you leave something and then you shut the door they automatically just speed off. I think that’s horrible. especially, if you’re in a neighborhood I also think that they should be more polite and they should wait if you forget something to like wait for them. I remember a time I was sitting outside waiting for my driver. She was three hours late. I got no text no call nothing so I was the one who had called Hop skip, and they kept telling me. Oh yeah, she’s five minutes away. Well they were lying and I was late to school by the time I got to school it was a lunch. I was originally supposed to be at school at 9:32! but no, I was at school at 12:31. this is ridiculous. I honestly don’t want a service that’s just gonna be poor and is it gonna help at all I’m sorry. I am fed up with late drivers, no communication, and lack of taking to the parent!! I want the drivers and I shouldn’t be riding a review like this. I honestly am very annoyed very very fed up with this I really really think that this service should definitely be taken up another level because people shouldn’t feel like this. About GOING TO SCHOOL. PLEASE FIX YOUR APP, AND TRAIN YOUR DRIVERS TO BE ON TIME! ITS NOT THAT HARD.

Disaster
I read all the positive reviews before booking my first ride and I felt very confident. My first 2 rides were a disaster. I booked a ride at 8 am to drive my daughter to high school. The first ride got cancelled the night before at 11:50 pm. I didn't receive a text or an email to inform me. I found out on my own when I checked the app in the morning. I called them and they assured me another driver would claim the ride. At 7: 20 ,while at work, I received a text saying that the ride is now coming at 8:26 am. Then I received a call saying that it was cancelled and the next ride would come at 9 am! Way too late. I was at work, my daughter was alone waiting for someone to pick her up. It was extremely stressful. I had to cancel and call a friend. Today, I decided to try again. My daughter was supposed to be picked up at 8. I got a call at 7:37 to tell me that the driver would be 2 hours late because of traffic. I had to cancel again and call another friend. My experience has been very frustrating and stressful. Hop Skip Drive is not reliable. I know some people love it. It didn't work for me, 2 days in a row. You need a solid plan B when you book with them.

Shady practices, not sure if by the driver or app
Let me first say that this concept is amazing and in theory it is great but in practice, leaves much to be desired & has been disappointing!! I have booked 2 rides now, with the instructions for the drivers to use a certain lane & park in the parking lot and meet my children at the flag pole. Both rides, the drivers failed to follow the instructions left for them which resulted in an extra $10 “late fee”/ride being assessed! However, my kids were waiting at the designated spot the entire time waiting on the driver to meet and pick them up. I’m not sure if this is done on the drivers side to get paid more or if this is automatically assessed by the app, either way, this is an error on the drivers side & I shouldn’t be penalized. Additionally, when I have attempted to communicate with the drivers via the app, I do not get a response. That’s the last thing I need when I’m at work & cannot get to my children quickly due to traffic. I was hopeful this was a perfect solution to our transportation dilemma but now I’m disappointed and scrambling for alternate solutions.

Astonishingly bad service
There is zero support for customers and drivers alike. My son’s ride was an hour late today because the service dropped his ride as she was en route to get him, and sent her in the opposite direction for another student. This is our eighth day using the service and I’ve had to email or call for support five times. I have not been able to talk to anybody, and only get emails saying someone will reach out to me soon. But they don’t. They left him at school without telling me the driver had broken down last week. I had to leave work early to get him, an hour after he was supposed to have left. This is a nuisance for staff, myself, and my disabled son. Please fix your significant communication issues! Please fix your app! We have to know where our children are!!!! We have to be able to work! Your drivers deserve better treatment, too! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t
I use the app to access rides for my kids the school district provides. Usually everything works ok. But more often than I would like, the ride doesn’t show up, or shows up late. Additionally, drivers aggressively leave before they pick up my kids. They show up like 25 minutes early and then leave before the pick up time. And then report my kids as not being there. Somehow the drivers are clearly incentivized NOT to take kids to school. My guess is they get paid either way so if they take off without the kids to go back to Uber it works in their favor. In any case, its not the worse service out there and it’s also not the best.

First ride
It was my boys first ride this morning, he stated the ride was quiet and smooth, I got a good sense of the driver felt a sense of trust. I think he was kind and professional,the drop of was the same the app for some reason showed that they were still on the road until I got a call from the driver and a knock on my window that they were already home. The driver walked my son to my door and did not send him out on his own. That was great on his part and greatly appreciate that detail. Thanks again sir for that. In all I think this service is great

Inconsiderate
We have been using this app for a few months because my mom is a single mother who works 80+ hours a week and can’t pick up my little brother. There hasn’t been much of an issue until today when it is 99 degrees out and my little brother is out there waiting an extra 40+ minutes for this man to show up and get him. I called the company and all they did was tell me his location which I already knew. I think it is very unprofessional that even after booking a ride more than 8 hours in advance (because is “hard” to get a driver) the man can’t even show up on time! I understand there is “traffic” (as the representative I talked to said) but this is Colorado, there’s only traffic. Everyone knows to leave at least 20 minutes earlier to be on time.

Works great for me
I've used HopSkipDrive for a few months and it has worked great and been very helpful, with no issues worth mentioning. The drivers are all nice and there has never been any problem at all. The app is convenient and intuitive. Tech support has been great in the infrequent times I've had to deal with them. Only very minor things like small glitches or unusual behavior have cropped up, but they were corrected and not at all critical, same as any app that gets revisions as needed.

If I could give 0 stars I would…
We have used this app a little over 2 years. Initially good service but the last year went from good to crappy. Drivers don’t even go to my door. I get a text on my phone driving to work - “I’m here hazards flashing on car outside” - so what I’m supposed to send my kid out in the dark??? What is that? Where is the safety measure of identifying yourself before you get in the car? I was standing outside waiting a few minutes- to see if the driver would even come out of her car and never happened. Plus she didn’t even bother to park outside my residence - her car was 3 bldgs down!!!! Drivers supposed to use a secret word- what secret word??? - last drivers never even mentioned to my kids. Charging patrons for safety measures that don’t exist!!!

Out of the many rides I have scheduled, about 90% of them never get booked with a driver. I’ve had maybe 3-4 GREAT drivers, but I’ve also had countless show up 10-15 minutes late, or never even head to the destination so I’m stuck looking for someone to pick my son up super last minute. Drivers can cancel on you, but if you cancel you get charged. Doesn’t matter if it’s within the hour or 6 hours from pick up time, it’s to not “inconvenience” the driver. My assumption at this point is drivers are booking rides then never doing the ride, assuming no one is going to email to get a refund so they still get paid. And even if you ask for a refund, you’ll just get a credit to your account for the cycle to continue. Good idea, awful execution.

Be weary of business practices
Used the service many times. However, the business practices of the central office are not very upstanding and they will screw you out of money if given the opportunity. Be prepared for “it’s company policy” and other typical corporate responses, things you’d rather not hear from people with whom you entrust your children. Also, we did have one issue where a not-so-knowledgeable driver took our daughter on an unusual route for some unknown reason and, not knowing where she was being taken, was freaked out. We have since made sure our kids have phones with them and check in regularly. Since my wife and I both work it was originally a great solution to a relatively frequent problem however in light of these problems we have moved it into the “last resort” category.

Drivers never available
DPS cut bus services at my sons school this year so, as a single parent, getting him to school on time has been a challenge. I downloaded this app hoping to use it on days I needed to work early. I have attempted to use this app 4x over the past 2 weeks, including scheduling a ride 6 weeks out. The app always tells me there are no drivers available at my time. It suggests other times but this is for school drop off… so no, a ride 30 minutes after school starts is not going to work for us 🙄 It’s a great idea but terribly executed. They have very few drivers so this service just can’t be relied on. I hope they ramp up driver supply but until then it’s unusable. Note: We live in Denver, CO which is advertised as an active market.

Seems to have a lot of bad reviews
First this app is mainly for KIDS I think the developer should have think it through very thoroughly how to make this app work smoothly! You guys are dealing with kids and mainly their transportation to school. Being late is unacceptable sorry, plus the kids safely is also something really crucial here. Someone recommended this app to me and by reading the reviews not even trying to makes me SCARED to use it for my daughters morning drop off to school. You guys have to keep it together find something to make this work. It’s a nice concept but being late, kids being routed in different routes yeah that’s a no no. Sorry! Star has nothing to do with my review, it’s just crazy how all this bad reviews I read is all bad, coming from a company that are dealing with kids.

Parents Pay Attn
In the beginning of the process on this app, if you cannot see anything or set up any personal information, such as Kids, cell, phone numbers, pictures, etc. then please reach out to the school or customer service of HopSkipDrive. First day, when too many teachers were logged onto my kids account had me worried sick as I could not watch my son on the way to school on a 26 minute drive. Luckily, he has a cell phone and named out loud landmarks and I tracked him that way. yes the results of the problem has been fixed. I wouldn’t want any other parent to have to go through what I did.

Lots of last minute driver cancellations
I’m new to the service, but with a husband who travels & an office that can be 30-40 minutes or more away in traffic, I was excited to try the service. I booked three trips so far and two drivers cancelled hours before pick up. I give my kids the driver/car info before school. They say they’ll keep trying to find another driver for you, but it’s stressful to wonder if they will/won’t and you have to reach your kids (who are in school) to update the driver info and hope they think to check phones. Sticking with it, but it would be nice if you could rate the drivers for cancelling on you or to know that the service was prioritizing dependable drivers.

Dreadful customer service and communication
I attempted to use this service but due to its unpopularity within the area I live, there weren’t any drivers that would accept my ride request. I then requested my information be deleted off their servers, since I didn’t want a service I am unable to use, to have my credit card information. This took far longer then it should have due to none of the deletion request being automated. The person I was in contact with, Michelle, (who signed her email as a VP) was terrible with communication and appeared to be confused with simple requests. She was never rude but also not terribly helpful. Considering her claimed status as VP, I had hope that my request would have been simplified and completed quickly and professionally. It wasn’t. If you’re wanting to avoid frustration, and wasting your time, I’d recommend using one of their competitors. I’m not claiming or guaranteeing their competitors are better, but I’d be shocked if they were worse and more difficult to work with. TLDR: use someone else.

I have been using HopSkipDrive drivers to take my son from elementary school once a week in Laurel Canyon to his flag football practice in Playa Vista. The drivers have all been courteous, prompt, and get my son to his destination either on time or early. I couldn’t make this activity happen for him without HopSkipDrive. The app is easy to navigate, and there has always been a live person to speak with if I ever have questions, concerns or comments. I can talk with the driver as well. This is a terrific service.

Excellent service.
I work in healthcare and have an unpredictable schedule. My back up childcare pick up person was out of town and I decided to give this a go. I was very helpful and professional. Keep in mind that you need to schedule these things at least six or eight hours before. It's not like Uber where you can just use it whenever you want. Definitely will use it again.

Good but not great
I love this app—whenI can get a driver. It’s a great concept. Helps me get my kids where they need to be and keep my job! They’ve done background checks and the drivers have experience working with kids. The only issue is because I guess it’s mew—there aren’t many drivers. Lots of time when I put in a request for a driver, I don’t get one and that makes it hard to rely on. Hopefully, they’ll get more drivers soon because on those days when I’m lucky enough to get someone reliable and safe to drive my kids, my day is so much better.

I never leave reviews but
I registered and download the app about six months ago… Finally came to the point where I needed to use it today and the experience was miserable. The app will not let you correct or edit locations… Waited for nearly an hour and no one picked up customer service. Left with such a poor feeling that there is no way I am entrusting my kids… There are a couple more services like this out there I’m not going to Vet and see what works. Do not recommend this app. It’s 2023… the bass player for any brand is that their app actually works, and that there are live agents to speak with, especially for such a nuanced service like this!

GREAT!!!
Wow! It took forever to find a good ride service for kids, and I’m so glad we found this one! The driver was very nice, arrived exactly on time, and overall just had very good service. Would definitely recommend, please don’t let the bad reviews drive you away (no pun intended) from this service. If you read the developer responses, you can see the creators are focused on fixing any mistakes. I’m sure there will be hiccups in the future, like with anything, but so far, LOVE HOPSKIPDRIVE!

Safe and on time
I’m very thankful for this app. My neighbor worked for them although we cannot guarantee her, this app was great. My girls got dropped off and picked up safely and on time. I had the option for my girls to be picked up together and dropped off since they have different school and time. It was very convenient and reliable. I can’t stress enough for a single mother like me how this is very helpful.

Not automated, bad customer service
I changed banks and got a new card so my payment didn’t process. I received an email informing me so I updated my payment. They processed fine but when I tried to book a ride I ran into issues. I called and they said the system doesn’t inform them do they have to make a manual change so that I can book rides again. This is the second time I have an issue with the app or their “automation” this leaves me in a bind with my child’s pick ups so I simply won’t be using this service anymore. I need things to get resolved quickly. When I asked customer service for help with a specific ride they are never quick to help. Unreliable

Not Reliable
I booked rides to school for my girls for 3 days in a row almost a week in advance. We live 15 minutes from the school which is in Dallas. No driver was ever found. 1 day prior to the first ride, I called and asked what is the likelihood that a driver may not be found and they just regurgitated their disclaimer saying ‘although there is no guarantee, a driver will likely be found’. I received a text after 8pm prior to the first ride indicating that the ride still hadn’t been picked up by a driver. Nothing by morning. So, I had to change my travel plans and cancel the rides. Great business idea but poor execution and terrible consumer experience.

Excellent safe service
We have two kids in the foster system using Hop Skip Drive. They have timely safe service every day and the drivers are kind and empathetic. We couldn’t do it without them and the kids are able to have consistency in their school setting while living away from their previous home.

Extremely disappointing
So I’ve tried to book a pickup for my son. Unfortunately it’s the day before. So when I tried to book a pickup it says unfortunately there’s too many families in need and there’s no one available. Here’s the catch my mother in law who lives with us who works as a HopSkipDrive says there’s no available students/kids available for pickup. Basically she’s not getting any available rides to make money and I can’t find any available drivers. Weird! Basically HopSkipDrive is not exactly living up to the 5 star review. Why can’t I find a driver or my mother in law find a student to pickup?

I am very pleased with hop, skip & drive last year we were with ever driven & it was always a problem with them being late and them finding a driver it was always something I just wanna say hop, skip & drive there drivers our friendly, they speak very good English, They wait till my son is in the house before Driving off I am very Thankful for HOP, SKIP, & DRIVER THANK YOU VERY MUCH ♥️🙏🏽

More drivers needed
I wish that my requested rides would get drivers committed sooner. I need to know if my kid will get a ride, so I can plan to ask a neighbor a favor or reschedule my kid’s activity. It would be nice if I could count on someone at least a week in advance. For the repeating rides, I would love to have them picked up at least two weeks in advance.

Huge disappointment
The idea of transporting kids is fabulous. However, everything else DOES NOT live up to what is advertised. We had scheduled a ride for our daughter to be picked up from school and even though she was waiting in the designated area, the driver was not able to get into the parking lot on time and we were charged a $10 late fee because of it. Most recently we had booked a ride for 4 o’clock and were told the driver would be there 20 minutes late, no compensation, and our daughter had to find another ride, yet we were still charged the full price of the ride. I would not recommend this app to anybody who is looking for reliable, and helpful transportation for their children if they are not able to do it for themselves. The worst part of this app is the customer service… no return emails, no return calls, and certainly no refunds. Buyer be very aware!

Safe and friendly drivers
I use hopskipdrive about twice a week to take my two kids to school in the morning one goes to elementary and the other to junior high . Both would agree that the drivers that have picked them up on numerous time are very friendly and courteous, thanks for such great service it helped me out tremendously. Thank you Roman fam.

Scam
Update: the confusion lay in that their communication system didn’t correctly and identify who canceled the ride. The support team reached out to rectify what happened. **************************** This is a scam. They canceled the scheduled ride, and support first said I called and canceled and when I said no I sure didn’t call to cancel, then they said the emergency contact called to cancel which was also not the case. Don’t give your information. Cancelling my card just in case this is a for real scam. Zero stars.

Grateful for “Kid Uber”
Super helpful for those days I just can’t do it all. Pictures, car description, and text updates to me and my child offer reassurance and peace of mind. It’s a service I can count on - both to get my kids where the need to be on time, and to provide them a safe, comfortable experience.

Drivers often late!
When you count on a ride for your kids, drivers being 20 minutes late has a huge impact! We pay for appointments/activities for our kids, and a few times recently the drivers have been very late. Then our kids get in trouble and it causes them a lot of stress. Even refunding the rides is not enough - we just need rides we can rely on. Zum and Kango don’t have this issue, so I highly recommend those services over this! We’ll be switching back to Zum today.

Drivers only pick up after 4pm very expensive
I needed a driver for my kid to be picked up from school at 1:45pm on certain weekdays- a VERY inconvenient time for a working parent. Not only did we never get a driver, Skiphop let me know they couldn’t find a driver only 30min before my child was supposed to be picked up. I had to leave work early, and race to get my kid when I work in a different city! Very stressful and defeating the purpose of the service. Besides that they charge approx $30 to travel 13miles!

Great concept, but some flaws
First, the rule about not being able to book a ride without EIGHT HOURS notice after 10am is crazy. I use this service for times I can’t be there. Today I had a situation where I was with one kid and my other kid’s practice was going to end an hour early. I found out 2hrs ahead. That’s PLENTY of time to set up a ride IMO. What if there was an emergency? Isn’t this supposed to be the safer Uber for kids? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Second, there should be a way to Favorite a specific driver, and they you. So if drivers and families both favorite each other, that driver gets first refusal for rides. Third, your app has a problem with iPhone Dark Mode. In dark mode, the time wheel is invisible. Kind of a problem. Fix these issues and you’ll get 5 stars from me.

Haven’t been able to use just yet
I downloaded thinking I could send my child to school after we missed our bus. I’ve not used yet because I don’t always know I’ll need a ride for my child until last minute. It would be nice for the developers to allow rides that aren’t planned the night before. It’s a bit pricey compared to other driving apps but I understand it’s more important to pay for caring, safe drivers.

40 minutes late AGAIN!!!!
Unreliable ! This has happened several times. One time they even called and said can't pick up your kid BC driver had issue and we can't get a replacement - I was 2 hours away and in a meeting and had to have stress to figure out how to get my stranded young kid home. The lateness happens way too much. When a mom is paying for a lesson to go to - they don't care that you lose the money of the lesson that they make you miss. Terrible customer service - they don't right their wrongs and they don't worry they are leaving kids stranded .

I love this service. I’ve used them for a long time. During COVID it was hard to find drivers, but it seems easier now. My ride requests are scheduled quickly. This is WAY safer than Uber or Lyft for your kids. My daughters have always felt good about HSD drivers.

"Our first ride was today, and I'm not very happy with the first impression. It took a while for a driver to be assigned. We were transporting three high school students and one adult, but the ride only had three seats. I had to ride uncomfortably and unsafely. I wanted my students to arrive at their first day of school on time. Please advise your drivers to check the number of passengers before accepting a ride." Thanks

Unreliable Student pick ups!
Our student has this service through a high school. Our frustration and feedback is about the Inconsistency with the transportation services HopSkipDrice provides. App does not have a way to contact the company to address an immediate issue. They will post on their app that the pick up is scheduled but never inform or update the app that thé pick up is not happening. Sometimes rides just drop off, or route will be in the app but not activated so we can’t know if the driver is late or not coming at all. Today the route is still in the feed (one hour post pick up time) but driver never showed up and there was no way of contacting him unless he activated that he was in route. Not reliable and it’s not even winter time.

Update please!
I would like to see a map with the dots that follows the route that they take to get to the destination. I need a Waze type of app so I can see my child’s moves in real time. A little disappointed that I wasn’t able to see my child in real time travels home. That would be a good idea for a future update.

Unable to access app
I download this app. I had created a user a few years ago never had a chance to use. I was going to try it out re downloaded the app same email changed & updated my password however the app keeps telling me the user & password don’t match, after resetting multiple time my password, I finally gave up. There’s no way to contact customer as there is no contact info Email chat nothing. To get help with this tech issue.

No drivers
Website says that it would be rare to not have a driver assign for a ride. Nope, it happens. We are new to using this ride share. Not too thrilled that a driver can cancel or accept ride 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Each day at work is a squeeze to see if a driver has accepted our scheduled ride. I already had to leave work and drive across town to pick up my child. We don’t mind paying, but it’s no guarantee that you will have a driver each day.

This is all new to me
So far I’m liking the company. I just have to call to make sure that I have my child get a set Driver I really like the Driver Miss Kathy. She’s been really great and she has a tablet which catches my son attention due to him having ADHD. Thank you miss kathy

Hi All Just to say I am a driver and I get cancelled all the time ! Today I was cancelled as well by the parent so it goes both ways ... I have never cancelled a ride yet but I am sure it will happen The only trouble I have is with the app - it goes black a lot But it’s a great company and we get screened and told it’s all about Saftey which I have a kid and know that for myself too
