Thank you for your time and purpose

Threw this app Ive been able to find and exchange in a very honest and good manner with other people over information and just history. You can find whatever your looking for on here and trade anything you have decided you don’t need any longer pretty swiftly it’s a splendid app with good support from the administration and trust aswell as understanding from the buyers! Thank you hopup and every human who runs this insanely functional and safe app ;)

Scammers + app

Don’t get me wrong, this app is wonderful but some of the people on there are not. If someone is selling something and they don’t want to go through the app or PayPal, they are most likely a scammer trying to take your money. I have had 3 encounters with people so far and 2 of them have been excellent but that 1 other person was trying to take my money and not give me what I bought. Always message them through HopUp and not messages for your own safety. The app has allowed me to trade and sell thing that I have no use for anymore which is a big plus in my opinion because there aren’t many other apps like this meant for airsoft-ers.

It’s not the worst, but it severely needs to be reworked

Like the title states, it needs to be reworked. Before you used to be able to list for free and they just offered a premium subscription where you could instantly list things without having it reviewed. Now the app has gone to pay or you can’t sell. Wether It’s a percentage of the value and you just go about using PayPal or whatever or you use their “payment” option where they hold your money hostage, they take 10% of the sale and if you want to cancel it they charge you 5% so to say it has gotten a little worse would be an understatement. Why they don’t just run ads (like everyone else does) is beyond me and the app as a whole has been on the decline with no hill in sight. Not to mention that support takes their sweet time responding.

Up in the air

Its a up in the air review but i have met a few friends through here as well as made 2 deals so far one being local and one across the states and so far im satisfied i always leave special notes saying thank you for trading will trade again for future and 1 vouch wont hurt etc but its fun to trade and what i love is how other airsoft companies/stores/fields get involved and post their own products in the app which means that there can be 3 sides of hopup the buisness the trade or the scam so far ive came across 5 different scammers (which is why this is 4 starred) but eventually will find a good person making a legitimate deal with you

Continually Dissappointing

Edit: not worth the download I’ve been a user of hopup since 2017 and despite many updates to the app, not much had been done to fix the rampant scanning, bug ridden message system, and passive admin team. If you happen to get scammed be prepared to be politicked and largely ignored by staff that don’t take the time to read through your concerns, if you choose to do business through their payment system which I heavily recommend against, be prepared to pay a 10% transaction fee on top of waiting for payment from hopup if you ever receive it at all. This app is as useful as it was on day one, just be wary for scammers, use paypal for payment protection and insurance, and don’t expect the hopup staff to help if things go south.

Top tier!!! Airsoft place to buy used and new stuff

So much I need I can find at HopUp… and it has so many people selling their stuff and I can sell my stuff to so many people. I’ve sold maybe around 20 plus items and bought around 5+ items and it has saved me so much money and it is just a great overall community. Only one down side is I wish that they had a separate page for retailers

Scammers Everywhere

I would give a higher rating if it weren’t for the amount of scammers on this app. I know it’s my job to be careful with them but the developers have not done anything to crack down on them. I’ve been trying to get a well known scammer on the app to get banned but the report function on the app isn’t working for iPhones and I’ve been messaging the developers to get him off but they haven’t done anything but tell me to not post about scammers on their postings. I get that it’s not a WTB/WTS but even after that post the scammer is still on there. Don’t bother with this app until the developers get this scamming issue done. Craigslist and reddit in my opinion are more reliable.

Zero Protection

Hop up doesn’t give sellers the ability to easily issue refunds if something goes wrong. The buyer protection is a joke and I feel much better transacting over PayPal. Don’t use the payment in hop up because it’s lacking features and the support is atrocious. (Vague answers, missing the point, etc). Even if the seller wants to do right by the customer, hop up won’t let them. Not to mention, there’s a lot of scammers on the app. Make sure you get a photo with the date and time as well as a function video. (Image quality and video quality is a joke on this app so Take it off this app as soon as you connect) Otherwise, good place to see listings but that’s about it.

Fix the Shitposting

Please attempt to monitor people posting absolute garbage on this app. People are using it as a form of social media like Reddit and it’s clogging things up. Get the users under control and have posts more closely monitored. It’s almost like you guys let anything pass. And please add a filter or searching system on the want to buy section, that way I don’t need to just scroll through what has been posted day by day, minute by minute. That isn’t a much of a big deal, but the people ruining the app (and the community honestly) just keep posting garbage memes and questions about fields and random things. It’s for buying, selling, and trading. Please fix it so people can’t do other than that.

Exactly what you’d expect, is efficient. But..

HopUp is exactly what you’d think. A sort of offerup. But for airsoft. Great app. Would give it a 5 star. BUT. I’ve seen people get scammed from this app. And I don’t think HopUp has any real sort of protection or at least compensation for people who get scammed. It’s more of a. “Do at your own risk” thing. Maybe they have something that I’m just not aware of, but to my knowledge there’s nothing. So overall, if they made trades and sales more secure. 5 stars all the way. But for the most part I’d say 90%+ of the people on the app are legit and just want to trade and sell airsoft guns and gear👍🏻.

Good app, an airsoft community must

Well designed, easy to use, easy to buy and sell, included shipping labels that can be printed at home make the whole process just awesome! Wish it had a little better review system for buyers and sellers would be my only critique 👍 an app that all Airsoft player’s must try! Follow Jesus! Was cool now it’s ridiculous

HopUp use to be an awesome app where you could post as many ads you wanted for as long as you wanted for just the regular premium member fee. Now they also have become victims of greed. Every ad has a fleet fee applied to its posting and is only up for a certain amount of time. I’ll admit they’ve put a lot of work into the app and it works very well. But a 10% fee on top of every post automatically put on to the post is ridiculous. I wish they would get rid of that

Only good for getting publicity for selling your items

Hopup protection does absolutely nothing for the seller. Most recent sale a buyer put a hole in the box he got his item shipped in and lied about items falling out and here we go, buyer gets a full refund even though the main items weren’t broken. Don’t waste your time giving money to the devs via premium subscriptions or hopup sales. They delete your posts all the time for no reason because they’re bored, terrible forum that has gone downhill because now they charge 10% for sales through their site. Don’t waste your time here, it’s run by morons.

I need help with my email!

I recently got this app and Ive found a gun that I want to buy but I wanted to ask the seller. So I tried to message him but it said i needed to verify my email. I must've spent 10 minutes searching for a button to press but i could find anything. I then tried to open the Help Center, it say it failed to connect. So I’m kind of stumped at this point, I cant get in contact with anyone that can help me with this.

Hopup went to crap

Hello all! I have been a verified user for over 4 years and I have seen the apps ups and downs. AS OF THIS MOMENT, the app is currently terrible. They have made everything that you can possibly want to do something you have to pay for. Do not want to wait on your post to get approved? They make you pay or wait days until no one sees your post. Want to actually make a post? You are forced to pay again! I wish the app was more like it was in 2017, this app is terrible and if youre not wanting to drop money for you to even have a chance at selling something stay off the app. thanks!

In development and we’re paying for it.

You’ll have to pay 10% of anything you sell and you can’t sell things any other way. I personally find this greedy regardless of the necessary “evils” that apply. We know you’ve gotta make money, but the HopUp producers/developers have given all users no choice. Disappointing.

Alright app

Lots of scammers and people who repost the same garbage over and over like Will Keller. I’ve done a lot of deals over the last year or so. I’ve gotten some nice trades though, I am fairly pleased with what I have gotten. But as far as selling things, nobody ever seems to have the money to buy anything. They always either lowball you by $100 or so, or offer a trade that’s in their favor. It’s more of a buying and trading app than a selling app. It’s still useful though, just need to be careful when shipping with trading.

Window Shoppers

Most of the people are window shoppers with no real intention to buy anything. I would say you average 1 sale every 20 messages or so. The users will ask questions I purposely answered in the post, as if they didn’t even read anything I typed, and they will even take you all the way to payment after asking 50 questions and requesting pics of everything, and then just never pay or reply to the messages again. The app itself is great, the users are questionable at best.

Still haven’t got my money from a sale

App was good at one point. Paid $50 to ship a gun a person bought through the app (wish they had just PayPal’d me) and I still haven’t received the money and they haven’t even responded to the email I sent them. Also the app itself is just awful. Double messages, crashes. Just seems like it needs the kinks worked out but they’ve never been worked out. Used to be tolerable, but now that they steal your money? No. There isn’t a lot of places to sell airsoft guns these days but this might be the worst now.

Must Have for Selling Airsoft Guns

I highly recommend this app for selling airsoft guns and equipment. You can buy shipping lable from them on a great discount as well! The easy to use interface. For me the money from my airsoft guns was delivered to me in 3 days after the customer got them. It says 7-10 days. But my advice, dont bother lookin at that.

Bug needed fixed

Good afternoon my name is Swea, I’ve noticed for the past 3 months I haven’t been able to click on photos for vision selection purposes, (a bug) please fix, this situation happens when you press “sell” then press on top of the add image icon, it'll only pop up he back camera instead of showing my photos like usual. After that situation he post button doesn’t work. And yes I have made a sale off your Beloved app! Please help.

Horrible customer service

I wish I could rate this 0 stars. Here’s the deal, I was set to trade with another guy thru the app and while he kept setting back the date to ship I had left out of country for work. I come back to my account blocked and an email asking what’s the deal with this other person. I gave my side of the story and hop up refuses to do any investigation on it. I have tried multiple times to fix the issue but hop up won’t reply to my email. Also don’t sell thru hop up cause of there 10% fee. PayPal gives better protection for a 3% fee.

Awesome app for airsoft marketplace

It’s great there’s finally an app or an marketplace since it seems like all social media, and other for sale apps flag and report airsoft guns. Very easy to use app for posting and buying. I have an issue where I don’t get notifications pushed on my phone. I see the notification pop up but I don’t have the red dot reminding me to check my inbox for new messages.

Messaging is garbage. Zero stars

All of my conversations I have with customers and people I'm.biyi g items from get absurdly randomly assorted into our conversation feed. With dates saying December 1999. I've sent money to the wrong address because I will have messages from years ago coming in as new. I asked for someone's paypay and I have to scroll through the whole feed to try not find where the message is. I've done buisness with people on the past and their old email shows first in my feed. It's insane and difficult. I beg people to text me instead of messaging through this garbage app

Anyone else getting immediately kicked out

For the past few days the app has been kicking me out from the start literally after I paid my 3 month subscription for this thing they constantly want to take your money but yet when things like this happen you think we’ll where does my money go then, it doesn’t make any sense that this app has so many bugs and we the “users” have to pay for what? To get the app all bugged out I can even get into an app that I PAY FOR?! this is honestly ridiculous

The report function is bad You cannot directly contact someone who buys your product without having to scour the userbase You cannot search in conversations to see when you were asked about a topic or idea You cannot block sellers who run drop ship schemes from China (Tim Fanslau, Nick Taviglione, to name two prolific bump abusers) Scammers can reuse the same images that have already been posted and use the same description People abuse the keyword function to spam all their own stuff into everyone’s search feed Users hide in WTB posts to sell their own stuff Recommendation- create a tag system that sorts items into specific tags- like #GBB #rifle #co2 #CQB #TokyoMarui to find exactly what you are looking for. Tags could be limited to 5 to avoid people including non related items.

Incredible!

After using this app for 2 years and having few run ins with crappy people, I can comfortably suggest this to anybody looking for an airsoft devotes BST page. People are usually respectful, business like, and cheerful. I have had a few people attempt to scam me, however the staff and PayPal staff are really helpful. Definitely suggest this!

Paywalls

Was looking for a nice place to sell some of my more expensive gear and figured Id try here since its an airsoft dedicated site. In order to put up a 60 day listing, which you have to wait for to be reviewed, it costs ~$10 upfront. OR you can go the route of paying afterward, however this takes %10 percent of what you sell it for, so if you even dare to try to sell something pricey that wont move quick or you want to get as much money out of it as possible this is definitely not the place.

That was quick

Was a returning user to this app, even made purchases on it, and while going to redownload the app I saw some of the bad reviews and said “nah its not that bad” preceded to log in. “Wrong password” okay maybe a different one “wrong password” okay thats weird different email “account not found” Okay reset password for first email “reset successfully you may now log in” finally... enters new password “account not found” WHAT. Resets password with other email “account doesn’t exist” this is ridiculous...

Prices are ridiculous and scams

I’m scrolling through this and I’m seeing 200$ rigs and like 400$ used guns that I could buy a brand new one and better for 350$ I believe that there are just little kids trying to sell guns for the original price or more thinking there gonna make a profit but they don’t know how selling used stuff works and the scams are even more ridiculous I tried to buy some gun for about 200$ and this guy didn’t want to pay through the app or PayPal…. I wouldn’t advise buying through this app

Awesome, but could be better

This app is the only one of its kind! It is a brilliant idea, but the app occasionally crashes. Also, I would recommend requiring sellers to put their product in categories. It is really annoying when you are looking for good airsoft gun deals and this one premium guy bumps up his 50+ posts of random mag pouches. That is the only reason it’s not 5 Star. Needs a little bit more security

HopUp is a very secure app and you can buy and sell easily and safely. but if a seller doesn’t put purchase protection on a post, you have a chance of getting scammed. and when you buy from HopUp, use the purchase protection through the app or other purchase protection methods of payment, never Cash App.

App is fine, customer support is non-existent

The app works as it should for the most part, but if you have a problem and need support expect to have to wait at least a week to get a response, even with time sensitive issues. Buyers can’t update their shipping address after purchase, cancelling an order by buyers request also requires a support request to not eat the fees.

Hop up customer service

I had several transactions with sellers. Items as described and well worth sellers. So far had one where damage was concealed. Hop up customer service took care of it by their rules all the way. I am happy with this app in positive and negative expectations.

Lifesaver

I had no idea this app existed and when I found it I just happens to find the gun I was saving for but for a much cheaper price. The only thing I wish they could change is being able to post more items to sell than just 3 things at a time.

I like it.

I like the app however I will say that I had to buy the Premium app package because the free app was not usable. Free is much more limiting then it was when the app first launched. There is a clear difference between premium and free now. I give it a four out of five because it is still a pure airsoft b/s/t app.

They ruined it by being greedy

Charging to list items now. Flat fee be tiny or not. I used to be a hop up premium member. So i have no beefs with having a premium version. But now charging to list stuff as a casual user. Greedy. They did it right with not being able to upload more than a photo or two and no videos on the free version. Which is why i got the premium when i really wanted to sell guns or good gear. Now ill just go back to craigslist and local swap meets.

I been using hopup for a while now and have sold over $1000+ worth in gear, by far the easiest and safest way to trade/sell/buy ever. If you are ever debating about downloading this app do it now trust the thousands of people who use this app and just start looking!

Ruined a good thing

Prior to the update, all transactions were done securely through direct messages and paypal. HopUp was a marketplace to post your sales, and the transfer of funds was discussed and agreed upon by the users (cash, trade, of paypal typically). The new update tries to make HopUp both the medium for posts as well as the payment overseer. All transactions are supposed to now go through the app, which forces users to give an untrustworthy app personal payment information. Additionally, HopUp now wants a 10% commission on all of these sales, much more than Paypal ever took. I understand HopUp is looking to increase their profits, but they put profits over players and have removed the community aspect from the app. There was nothing wrong with the old format. You took a good thing and ruined it.

Downward spiral

Hop-up used to be a great app, but it’s falling apart due to the admins and new greed for money. It’s no long a free-sell platform like it used to be, it’s more like a restricted version of eBay, only worse. You can’t sell any Airsoft gun like you used to, now you have to only sell licensed official Airsoft guns. Hop-up will charge you if you use the listing only system, and if you use the non-charge system, there’s a 10% sales fee and poor customer service Regions have been disabled, you cannot see how the Airsoft globally is doing Costs have driven up due to the lack of freedom I’ve personally seen a decreasing trend in posts now, and it’s only a matter of time before a new app replaces hop-up in order to counter the issues

Great App not enough people

It’s an absolute great app but it doesn’t quite replace eBay since it must not be well known, the user base appears large but when you try to sell something people rarely hit you up and that’s selling popular items

To many changes

Hopup was great when it first released, now they have made so many changes to benefit themselves that the consumers who actually use the app are the ones punished. There use to be so many people who would make personal sales. With the new set up, it’s basically a bunch of business selling on here. Nothing at all what it use to be, they made so many changes they just ruined their own creation.

It’s just a great over all app. If you get scammed it’s not the apps fault it’s yours. Would be great if they added a scammer watchlist to the app but still a fire app and makes it so much easier to buy and sell stuff.

Terrible

Pretty much every seller on here is unwilling to complete a transaction through HopUp, I’ve had my order cancelled simply because I bought the item though the app for protection. Defeats the whole purpose of the app, and the devs should really be doing something about this. Maybe if everyone hates the transaction fee so much that they’re unwilling to sell, than lower the fee, some money is better than none

Greedy creators

The app had good intentions but the creators are greedy. Your post has to be reviewed before it’s approved to be listed UNLESS you go “premium” which is basically pay to play. Once you’re premium you can bump your posts and there’s no review of what you’re posting so you can try and buy hamsters or sell your Xbox like Will Keller or sell some overpriced supreme clothing that your parents bought you like Jake Thumann. Give all users ability to bump posts if nothing else.

Soso

App crashes a lot and logs me out. Then says my account doesn’t exist(once every 1-2 weeks)and will let me log in an hour later. Sometimes I receive messages but it won’t let me open them. Lastly this app does not work at all without WiFi. I can at least sell my Airsoft stuff on here and for that I appreciate the app to even exist.

App is designed to take money from you, they bill and charge you for no reason

Pretty much when you make a sale you lose %10 then you get charged 20-30 for shipping, then you have three days to ship it or they take %5 of the money you payed or sold something for and auto cancel your order. Steer clear from this website please. Unless you wanna lose money

Bad app, worse community

Love to get lowballed, spoofed or just insulted? This is a perfect app to experience this. I have about 75 vouchers on the app and I worked for them. All my items are below market and I help out by reporting the scammers. But now daily, no one has money. Selling a sight for 50% off? Oh yea I only got 20$ so nah unless you give me about 50% off your price. Update: They now charge you to sell stuff on this app, not worth it anymore.

Closing problems

The app itself worked fine for a while up until now, the people on it are nice and the idea is good but everytime I open the app on the main page it closes instantly. When I turn off wifi and cellular and open it on any page except for the main and turn them back on it loads fine but kicks me off when I’m on the main.
