In my limited use the Hot 97 application is useful but is in need of much improvement. The app while easy to navigate could use an overhaul to the plain dreary dark background. One big problem is how sluggish the app seems to be when loading content. I think the app could also be used as a time portal to young listeners today when the radio station was at its peak in the 90’s and early 2000’s. An archive section with classic interviews and personalities from the past such as Funkmaster Flex, Angie Martinez and Star and Buc Wild could be nostalgic to those who are my age and grew up with the station and entertaining to those who did not.
As a less experienced hip-hop and rap listener outside of New York, this is great. Fantastic interviews, live streaming is reliable and sounds good, always new content. Recommended!
Not sure what’s up with this app but it likes to disconnect from my Bluetooth speakers after 5-8 minutes of play. This doesn’t happen with any other music app I have. Because of it I went from a daily listener to a almost never listener.
Ads during their commercial free segments- I miss moments during my favorite morning show. Also it randomly goes out for a couple seconds rather frequently.
How is there not an option to listen to live streams for your programming? I had to download another app to listen to Ebro in the Morning. That makes no sense at all.
For years the audio of this app has been trash . Turned all the way up and still barely hear . How can you be number 1 in the city ohhh wait yall meant number 1 volume level smh
Ebro is a old racist man set in his stupid old ways! Yes you can be racist even if you are black… not just white people are racist (I am Hispanic). Peter is a cry baby sore loser always taking Ls to Kast one. I respect Shani Kulture and Kast but my god those other two are sold out little puppets!
The app is great and I like the various platforms that are on there. I absolutely love listening to the Cruz Show in demand, however, now when I click on the title to access the show, the app is busy and doesn't allow me to listen! Please fix it! I don't want to delete the app and forget about it!
I love this new App they came out with! It is an easy platform that allows me to find out about new issues going on in the hip hop world without having to go through different websites or blogs. You get the best of both worlds from the west coast and the east Coast. It's super easy to manage through and understand! I would definitely recommend for people to download it! Especially if you're not staying in the LA/NY area, it makes it an easy access to see what's going on!
This app is garbage. I barely get to listen to segments or music due to the advertisements starting whenever they want. The advertisements even starts during on air advertising. The advertising starts every time I use car play and play a text message. If I connect to a new output advertising starts. The advertisements start if I turn an alarm off. I seldom hear a full segment or song for that matter. The app literally just quits at random at least twice a day. I paid for this app before all the other radio apps came onto market which is the only reason I still have it. Being the flagship station for hip hop it’s the worst radio app I’ve ever experienced.
Love the morning show always has an educated point of view on relevant life situations affecting folks in day to day living. Funk master Flex show on the other hand is exciting at times but irresponsible points of view givin to an audience that is heavily influenced by the points of view he is offering. I know it’s entertainment but acknowledge the responsibility you have to your listeners Flex👍🏾 otherwise he is the Top DJ around. Ebro Laura and Rosenstein are excellent as well. Oh yeah Shaun culture too!🙏🏽
The app is constantly crashing when certain songs play. Once you open the app it stops updating the names of the songs that are playing. If the app is interrupted for any reason, an in coming call or something, it doesn't resume playing after its done. The last thing is you can't pause and play the station from your lock screen. That's annoying. The only reason I haven't deleted the app altogether is because I can't get this station anywhere else.
I downloaded this app to listen to Ebro in the morning like everyone else. However, the ads play over most of the show. The health first commercials cut out most of the show and it always comes on during prime segments. The interface is never updated and a lot of news is old. It seems like the app was rushed and should be completely redesigned. On some days they play a completely different show. It’s really bad and annoying
I'm so happy to have this app I live in the high desert for the past two years and it was really hard not having power 106 as a station up here and now that I have this app I do !!😍👌🏼🙌🏻💯 I've been listening to power 106 since I was little and there's not a better station out there like it !!
Supposedly you can win tickets with this app but I was in my car listening to the radio and this app has about a 15 second delay how my supposed to be Texter 106 when the app is 15 seconds late this is False advertising I'm deleting this app

Would be awesome if we could access all the “drops” that are played on Ebro in the Morning. Also, offer some promos for fellow New Yorkers like me who now live out of state. I always keep it locked with you guys. Keep up the great work. Thank you.
What the hell is good with these commercials? You'll be enjoying something and the commercial will just come on and cut off whatever you're listening to as if you care about what they're selling. The commercials last mad long. By the time you get back to what you're listening to, it's over. All this aggravation and for what? I don't want nothing from Sprint. Made me resent Sprint.
It's great to have direct access and have it be live but any time something happens on your smart phone (alarm, call, etc) it stops and the same ad play over and over again. Are used to use it more but now I listen to hot 97 on the iHeartRadio app and it's better.
I love using the app almost every day. Only issue I have is at times if I have a notification or an alarm or something go off it forces the app to restart and can get annoying when you hear the start up advertisement each time it restarts
Lifelong fan. I love seeing my boys from night life making it on the radio station we all grew up on. I will always be a fan of Big Ben ,as an artist ,and as a down to earth ,humble dude. I will always support his endeavors. He’s a real one. All love.🙌🏼
Y’all app is cool... but it would be awesome if y’all made the drops available to the users. You know how many times a day I could run that “Congratulations, you played yourself.” to my kids? Or “Another one”? Or if I could get Laura Stylez saying “...cookies? ...cookies! ...cookies.”? All the Trump ones 😂 “She’s been known to be a liar.” and “Bad hombres here”. Every time I leave the gym I would play “Strength. No weakness. Never weakness.” Put them drops on and I would be all the time on the app 😂😂😂 and I swear all my friends would have it too.
I wish there was a way to know which podcasts I've already listened too without having to open the podcast and listening to it to see if I already listened to it before. But The Cruz Show is my Sh**!
Why is it that when something works perfectly, somebody comes along and wants to screw it up? Paying for a subscription of not hearing commercials is the worse. It's like having Fetty Wap in a cookie jar, every time you put your hands in the same cookie seems to be grabbed. Put a variety in the jar, rotate the music playlist. On the other hand Power station does not have this problem. Hot 97, this is about you. Get it together soon.

I love this app and the hip-hop stations and the feeds. What I'm not loving is the fact that when I first opened the app and tune into a station, it closes down after 10 to 15 minutes. After that, it streams perfectly fine. It's a bit annoying, but I hope it gets fixed soon! :-)
I like the app because I can listen to it anywhere, but sometimes it doesn’t work. It’ll either crash or just never load. It’s been improved since the last time I downloaded it. It’s perfect for those that temporarily/permanently have moved out of NY.
The app has a nice layout and is easy to use. Does seem stop often (every 2-5min). I really dislike that it plays the exact same metro pcs commercial each time the app restarts. Makes it hard to enjoy my listening experience.
Long story short I listen to hot 97 in the whip only, my music got deleted so I decided to download it. Read and reviews and people saying the to wack but I downloaded it and tired the power La station first, works perfect!!!!!!
This use to be the best app for listening to stations. There were rarely any commercials, now when you start a station. It'll play commercials for 5 minutes before playing your station. Then the volume will be too low compared to the commercials that were playing before.
Why do the commercials interrupt when the personalities are in mid sentence or talking about something? I can never finish hearing what they have to say because commercials interrupt and by the time they finish the show has moved on.
I love listening to hip hop on this app. Only thing I wish for is if they can refresh the mix feed better. I feel like it's always outdated. Other then that it's an awesome app.
Listen I grew up listening to hot 97 so u better believe moving from Bk to Syracuse were there's nothing on the radio you better believe wherever I go hot 97 goes keep up the good work guys.
Very buggy. It would be great to just listen to live radio and not musical interruptions especially when the morning team is debating something important and interesting in current events in the news. Still a fantastic team despite it.
I love the show and happy i have the app to listen, however these ads are out of control. In the middle of a song or their morning show, an ad cuts it off and sometimes another ad cuts off another ad. I miss chunks of the show and I’m about to delete this and use another app.
Ok so I love the station but for Someone who’s actually paid for the app there’s no reason why I have to listen to 20 commercials to everyone 1 1/2 songs THIS MAKES NO SENSE.. I had no idea I was paying to listen to commercials with A song every now and then. And even if that’s how you make your money limit it to 2 to 3 ads for every three songs or something IDK BUT FIGURE IT TF OUT.
The ads are really just too much. They come on even as the hosts are talking! They are also rather extensive. I’ve listened to nothing but ads before for several minutes on many occasions. There has got to be a better way to regulate this.
