I have found this app decently functional for several years. For the last few weeks, though, it has not been updating my Holds—it shows my place in line, even though I already checked out and returned both titles. When I click on the titles, I get an error message. I finally decided to delete the app and download it anew, but now I can’t even log in to the new download because it says it’s unable to connect to the server. Hope it gets resolved soon!
Up until a this week, I had no issues with the app, but now appears to be downloading issues. It takes a long time for app to stop the spinning wheel and when it does, the open page doesn’t completely download, nor can you go to other completed download pages. I have removed the app and reinstalled on both phone and iPad. I have checked to see if others having same issues and they are.
First, the app is great (aside from a LOT of bugs). Recently, my checkouts AND holds have not been showing up, and now I can’t read the books I have checked out or check in on holds.
I can look to see if the library has a title I’m looking for, place things on hold, see what I’ve checked out & when it’s due, see announcements & events, and different HPL locations. Really all I need other than notifications for holds becoming available and when a due date is coming up. Otherwise, this app is pretty darn great.
I've successfully used libby for a while but this Houston public library app is terrible. it's asked me to login twice and I found an audiobook and it tells me it's ready in the libby app -- but I can't find it...it says it's also available in hoopla-- but I can't find it. It says I can listen thru a browser -- if I login again -- and for the login process, it asks for a pin, but it really means a password. Too much mess -- deleting the app.
I want to like this app but the constant need to put in my library number is a pain. It also will not scan my library card barcode so I have to enter in the numbers.
The UI in this app is pretty much the laundry list of bad ideas from mobile UX in the past 10 years. Please simplify, flatten the hierarchy, and make things more discoverable.
