Aside from the clunky UI, this app usually works OK once it does manage to connect to the trail cam. But roughly 90% of the time, after I hit the Connect button, it just spins an hourglass for a while and then returns to the Connect screen with no explanation whatsoever about why it failed. Is the connection bad (unlikely, I’m ten feet from the device, and if I ever DO connect, it’s plenty fast with live video and everything after the long connect)? Is there a problem with some server somewhere? It would be better if it never connected at all, because the fact that it works one out of ten times means that I keep trying in hopes of a rare good day. I can’t count the hours I’ve spent watching that damned hourglass.
Super disappointed. I bought the camera that goes with the app so my elderly parents could use the camera/phone connectivity while visiting my home but despite the app connecting to the wifi, it keeps telling me that the camera is not connected. I’ve followed all of the troubleshooting steps and nothing works. I’ll be returning the camera.
I do not understand the 1* reviews. The app downloaded and worked perfectly for me on iOS 14.5.1. Setup was easy, and provided high res live viewing of camera still and video, as well as ability to download files and set most trail camera settings. A well designed app which I recommend.
I’ve been using the software App for months with few issues. Now, after updating my iPhone 12 to iOS 15.1, it crashes within seconds of launching. Deleted, and re-installed, and the first time I launched the app, it worked for 30 secs, then back to crashing within seconds. Please address this issue!
Does not seem to connect to iPhones. Just takes you to your settings menu. Never asks for the password like the instructions say. Never connects to photos on camera. Waste of money
The app works fine, though it is not very intuitive. I think it might be due to a UX with a less than ideal translation to English. Way too many steps. The instructions could use some improvement, as well as additional detail. Once I figured out how to connect the software to the phone, it worked great. SETUP AND CONFIGURATION 1. There is an On/Config/Off switch under the screen and button panel. Batteries are self explanatory. 2. Move the switch to the config position. 3. Camera/time/resolution/Bluetooth/WiFi setup is intuitive and menu driven from the button panel. Old fashioned buttons and arrows. 3. You have to set up the Bluetooth name (or use the default). 4. You have to set up the SSID and PWD (or use the default). CONNECTION TO IPHONE 1. Download “Hunting Camera.” Not Hunting Camera+, not Hunting Camera Pro. 2. Open app 3. Select “Connect Camera” 4. Select “Step One Bluetooth On WiFi.” This will take you to iPhone’s Bluetooth Configuration Settings. 5. Connect to the camera’s Bluetooth name. 6. GO BACK TO APP 7. Select “Step Two Connect WiFi. This will take you back to iPhone WiFi Config. If it isn’t open, open iPhone WiFi Config. 8. Select Camera SSID. 9. Enter WiFi PWD 10. GO BACK TO APP 11. Connect camera. You’re ready to go! The back and forth setup from app to iPhone Config could use some major improvement. Each time you connect, you have to go through a similar process to connect to Bluetooth, except the WiFi SSID pops up in the app for selection, and you don’t have to re-enter the password. This is still clunky to me. Too many Config steps. Too many connection steps. The transfer speeds are slow, but I am using a years old 64G micro sd card, which is likely the bottleneck. Once configured, I’ve connected from about 30’/10m without issue. Picture quality is excellent. App has room for improvement. It would be nice to be able to configure from the phone. If it is possible, I haven’t figured out.
This app is designed for Hunting Camera and includes the following features: - Remotely view and control Hunting Camera. - Download Video from Hunting Camera.
