I tried to use this app in Marathon, FL at two locations. It barely worked at one and never worked at the other. I also tried it on Summerland Key, FL with the same disappointing result. When standing as close to the machine as possible, I get a “cannot vend” message telling me to move closer. When I look at where the app thinks I am it shows that I’m over 1/4 mile away. Google Maps showed a correct location as did Find My IPhone. Now I’m stuck with a balance on my account because there are no machine near where I live.
I used this for the first time, in Wichita Kansas, last night and had absolutely no issues with it. I got my free bag of ice, loaded funds to my account for future reference and it provided me locations in town. Once I got there and clicked the I’m here, it connected to the machine and I got my ice within a few seconds of being there. Not sure how this rating is as low as it is- maybe when there are a lot of them in a large town- not sure but I had the best expected experience possible. - I don’t have to go inside and wait in a line for ten mins or so - super affordable! $2 for 16 lbs and $3 for 20!?!! Yes pls!
They have now added a $.10 transaction fee to EVERY bag you purchase through the app. They already have your money loaded onto your account, so it’s not like they are processing a bank fee for every bag you buy. Even if you purchase multiple bags in one transaction, they add $.10 for each bag. They’ve already significantly increased the price of their ice & water over the last couple of years, as if water got more expensive. I spend around $700/month on ice, so the extra processing fee is irritating. The app is supposed to make it easier to buy ice, but I won’t be using it anymore. Your ‘free bag of ice after 10 vends’ is not so free anymore.
I purchase around 36 pounds of ice a day. The machines work fine which is why they didn’t receive a 1 star. After purchasing 10 bags you receive a coupon for a free bag. I’ve only been able to redeem this coupon once. Fix this issue and I will leave a five star review.
This first thing this app does is prompt you to login. There is no way around it to view locations or other information. I always read a company’s privacy policy before I give them my info so I went looking for it. There is no privacy policy in the app nor anywhere on the website. This is actually illegal and I’m going to be reporting them to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and you should too. Who knows what they are doing with your info, who they are selling it to, how it is being stored, etc. Unethical company, stay away!
The app doesn’t work half the time. The horrible machine by my house will never accept cash. Cards rarely work. So you’re forced to put money on this crap app. But most the time it won’t show any locations. Which are needed for the wireless pay by app. So now I have $20 and 2 free bags on an app I can’t use. Whoever owns the machine by me does not keep up the maintenance. And obviously the developers of this app are equally as incompetent. I’ve been using this app and machine for 2 months. I’ve managed to get two bags of ice from it and I buy a bag of ice every other day.
The ice machine in Newburgh Indiana has been out of commission for a few months now. We get ice for our church a few times a month. Curious if you were aware of it it has had a sign saying not working but the water side is working. Curiosity killed the cat. Just checking if you had any idea. Thanks Richard francis.
I really like the Twice The Ice machines when they are working properly! I do not need the account functions or pay by credit card functions. Always pay cash or coins. Not going to provide email or other information since it is not needed. Even the location setting on my phone is not needed since I often want to find an ice and/or water machine that is no where near my present location. Deleting this app!
The app works great, but as of last week it has been glitching and constantly showing a notification flag (iOS) even though I have none. I logged in and out a few times and I even deleted the app entirely and re-downloaded it, but it still will not clear the notifications.
I download the app and added money to the account just to find out no ICE2U we’re near my area. I tried over 6 mos to get my money back and finally they respond def to my email. Refunded my money when I asked what account and could they send me a check because the account they had I no longer had. They said they couldn’t. So I’m still out of my $10. I would have given zero stars if it were avail.
Went to one of their locations that apparently stopped in time decades ago because was cash only. To buy with credit card I had to download this useless app to find out that the minimum card purchase is $15. I just wanted couple of $2.50 bags of ice. A business that forces consumers to use cash in 2024 is one on the way bankruptcy.
Used the app just before Hurricane Ian shutdown. Worked great at this free standing machine THIS time. But who’s to say it will be consistent, which I’ve had issues before in the past There needs to be a better system of informing Buyer when the ice & bags are empty before losing money.
Needed ice in a hurry since Sam’s is closed on Easter Sunday. Downloaded the app and was able to order Three 18lbs ice bags for the same price as a single 5lb-10lb bag from a local convenience store. Reporting live from Arlington, TX.
Wow, these machines used to not work even with cash/card. Now I can remotely dispense a bag of ice?! My experience was seamless. I was shocked it worked so well. Great job on this app! Add applepay and it will take it to the next level.
I downloaded the app and charged $10 to my account. When I try to vend a bag it just keeps telling me that the machine is processing another transaction and to wait a few moments and try again. I waited 30 minutes and no one else is here but me. So now I have $10 on my account I can’t use. Ended up gonna to get ice somewhere else. Fix your machines please.
This app is supposed to show you locations, right? Surprise- it does not. It is more concerning about you giving them all your information and details than showing you the locations. Deleting is right now. Get a decent programmer. We want to see the locations- simple!!
I am unable to enter the credit card info and reload the account. It worked once since I used this months ago but now there’s no way to enter the credit card info. I mean, what kind of business doesn’t ensure that they are able to get the payment details?
I downloaded this app because the price was right but every time I drive across town to get ice, it doesn’t work. The app always tells me that the machine is currently vending someone else’s ice but there’s no one there. I put money in this app and can’t even use it. I would give it zero stars if I could.
I downloaded the app and almost missed they took $30 out of my account rather than $10; they auto load your ICE2U account with $10 more but I’m not sure why they took the extra $20. I’ve asked them to return the money, I may have to dispute with my bank.
I was excited to find this but unfortunately the app is difficult yo use. I have trouble finding locations and there is no way to report damaged machines. Will be deleting this app. If I could give it less than one star I would.
If you do find a location that accepts the app… the location of the machine is no where near the location on a map. Must be close to the machine in order for it to bend. Closest I can get to vend is .91 miles and I was standing in front of it!!!! Garbage
I’m left thinking what just happened! Download your app and after trying to use it at the Choctaw, Ok location and it’s not working. Doesn’t even have me close to the machine in the locator. Useless and annoying.
Do not download the app bc it doesn’t work properly and on top of that I used the app to find a twice the ice location near me.....well it took me to a place where it said it was but it wasn’t there and idk if it ever was tbh bc there wasn’t any place to put it at that location.
I wish the other guy owned this. There was never a problem ever. If the machine was offline he would fix it from his phone. He was a stand up guy this thing never works. It’s the biggest inconvenience
The app itself works great, but I don’t like the service fee. True it is only 10 cents per bag, it feels like I am being charged to use the app. For you as a company, the app does create brand loyalty but I can buy ice at any vendor and pay cash and not pay a service fee. Consider dropping the fee, if not for that you have a good app. Thanks
Uploaded min $15 to my account and it doesn’t even work at my local station which is on my app! So now I’m out $15 and had to scrounge around to fill up 2 of my 5 water jugs
This would be a decent app if the availability was a little better. These machines are all over the place in my area, but only one of them uses this app and doesn’t vend anything but bags, what a waste.
Downloaded app and standing right next to the machine it tells me to move closer. I could only get closer if I was inside of the machine. How do I get my money back?
SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! App is a scam! Wish I read all the review before I uploaded. Been reaching out to them for refund because where I live does not have the machine. I was visiting a state that had these machines. It is a SCAM and We should report them! A penny is a penny, you’ll never get it for free unless you work for it. DO NOT DOWNLOAD! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!
We went to get water and realized we didn’t have cash. The QR code is right there so we figured we would try that. You cannot pay for water from the machine. You can only buy ice. So now we have a preloaded account but no way to get what we want.
Can’t even confirm email address for the app. Click the link and it sends you to a website instead of the app. The website doesn’t allow you to sign in as it wants a username which the app doesn’t give you while registering. So annoying.
