Honestly the whole thing seems like a ripoff. The scan doesn’t work on the browser for the peoplesites which are horrible and should be outlawed but the best we can do is confirm with the jerks that are legally selling your personal data to anyone with $1.99 . Right they expect you to confirm the correctness of the data they are selling in order to remove it. Talk about bargaining with the devil. I don’t feel comfortable with sharing my DL and other personal Data with a site that works so poorly, and an app that doesn’t even work at all. Like literally has no functionality whatsoever and is a complete waste of time and money. I got scammed by turbo tax to believe it was this great service that prevents and restores is theft before and after support, I cannot comment on customer support as I haven’t called them yet since I am recently a victim of is theft and have already dealt with all of it before they even noticed. It wasn’t cheap but as crappy as the site is I imagine the insurance ain’t much better. What a waste of money!!
I don’t have any complaints about the IDnotify Service but their IOS App simply doesn’t work! The App has not been updated in over 2 years, which also says something regarding Experian's investment in this service. I’ve received a few email notifications regarding Internet Surveillance warnings. Attempting to view these notices in the App dashboard is futile. It consistently yields an “unknown error has occurred” message and recommends you return to dashboard view. The only way I can view my notifications is to log onto the IDnotify web portal from a browser on my PC.
This hasn’t been a great user experience. I get a notification and message, but each time I try to read it the App makes me start from the beginning like I’ve never accessed the system. Log in. Set up Face ID. Set up PIN. After all that, I go to read my alerts and the system won’t open the message. Error retrieving my information or unknown error message. Not at all comforting to be alerted something has changed and I cannot see any details. Service was free with my credit card, but depend on my other credit monitor to actually be informed.
Just installed it after signing up for the service. I received 53 emails today alerting me to issues. However none of the alerts are visible on the app. I went on my computer and found that there insufficient details on the notification to actually determine what was compromised. Was it an account using my email as a login or was it actually my email. Am I supposed to reset hundreds of passwords? We’re these old notifications? Who knows because no details are provided.
Just don’t even waste your time. They clearly are not putting any effort into improving this app anymore. Get an alert, go into app, click on alert and all I ever get is nothing but a message saying an unknown error has occurred. This has gone on for the better part of a year now. Now change. Garbage.
After several calls and password resets this app still does not work. They did give me a special link and this is the only way I can log on and only if using a browser. Even their normal login does not work on a browser.
It’s hard to give any star for an app that has not loaded or opened in 2 years. Really doesn’t make you feel good about the company that you’re trusting to protect your personal information.
The application will not even loan with the application does not do anything. You are not even wasting your time. You’re wasting the space on your phone. I would not recommend it to anybody lousy app.
App never opens. Once I try to log it it starts then crashes. I have to keep deleting it and redownloading it . Only to have to reinstall it twice before I can log for it to crash again.
I downloaded the app and instantly got issue notifications through email and I believe I got hacked through the account because I can no longer log back in.
You would think that an ID protection software service would have a halfway decent mobile app. This thing just freezes and displays… literally nothing.
It downloads and opens a logo screen. Does absolutely nothing. Doesn't even have non-functional links or login boxes. NOTHING. Just an aqua solid screen with their ID logo in the dead center. Non-functional. I immediately deleted it.
nothing ever loads. get errors every time i try to get details on a notification. makes you login multiple times even with face id enabled. not sure if the identity protection service is any good. gives me notifications but with no useful info as to what to do. does not disclose locations where info was found other than the generic “dark web”.
Do not download this app! Worthless! Worked for a few days. Haven’t been able to log in in weeks! Keep getting an error message telling me to try again later. I finally just deleted the app. I’m done! Very sorry I gave out my information. Honestly, people, you DO NOT want to give your personal info out to a company that cannot support it’s services.
On the VERY FIRST page when you login you should see “unlock/lock credit report”. You should NOT have to search for this most important feature. Think about it. Why else would I install this on my mobile device if not to make that function accessible? Fix it ! Please !
Spoke with customer support and openly lied about the login problem stating it had just occurred and would be fixed by the end of the day... that was after a 50 minute on hold wait. This problem is almost 4 weeks old, if you can’t create a simple app login what’s your identity security worth?
I can login online just fine but every time I use the app it tells me there is a problem with my user name or password. Please fix this and I will then be able to give you a better rating since the app would then be useable.
Like all other reviews login doesn’t work and since so many reviews have been unanswered this app does seem like a bogus app. please don’t try installing it and logging in. If you have then immediately change your password.
I was able to sign up but when I tried to log in through a desktop and later the app, it didn’t work. I even hanged my password and it still didn’t solve the problem. Please fix.
Tried logging in several times before finally checking out the reviews. This problem goes back as far as November and they can’t fix the log in? Someone at Experian isn’t doing their job.
When I try to log in it automatically opens Safari to verify my browser?! Then it prompts me to enter my ID. After I enter my correct ID it says invalid ID. If I try to just log in on the browser it opens the app?! And it turns into an endless loop.
Unable to login through app. No issues through web browser. What’s the point of having this app? Issue appears to be a known concern, therefore, you’d expect to have had this resolved by now.
This is a scary app and service with the lowest rating that can be given. And this is the company that’s supposed to protect my identity from the dark web? An app that I can’t even sign in myself but thieves can enter with ease?
It is no wonder Experian got hacked. They seem to have the most unreliable sites and programs. Like other users, i can login online but not on the app and that makes me wonder how safe any of my info is with these people.
Every time I try to use the app, I can’t log in, even if my credentials work fine on their website. Tried using shorter, simpler passwords; still no luck. Please fix!
Like all the other reviews, the app does not allow one to login. I would humbly suggest that the developer of the application do some quality testing before releasing an app that reflects poorly upon the company.
App doesn’t allow login. Keeps saying cant communicate with IDnotify server. This has been for months. I contacted IDnotify directly. Currently working on the problem with me.

How do we even know this app is actually associated with Experian? It acts an awful lot like it's just harvesting account names and passwords to then exploit.
So I called customer service and they freely admitted that the app doesn’t work, you can’t log in. Don’t bother downloading, only the desktop application works.
