Change your settings

My previous rating was a 1-star, but I have since updated it to 5-stars after some troubleshooting. I read dozens of the reviews (all 1-star) with common problems. Most, if not ALL of these problems can be solved by changing your settings either on your phone or computer (browser settings) to allow the Illinois Lottery to access your location. On the iPhone go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services. Make sure you allow the Illinois Lottery app access (if you have the app) otherwise you will have to adjust your browser settings (use Safari or google chrome) and again make sure your browser isn’t blocking the Illinois Lottery website (on your iPhone; go to Settings and scroll down to your browser). Turn off “Ask Websites Not To Track Me.” You will be able to scan tickets, your numbers will not disappear and you will be able to play multiple lines and check out. Once your (location) settings are adjusted the app and website work without a hitch. I understand how frustrating it is and I hope this helps. By law the Illinois Lottery must confirm your location in the state at the time of purchase. P.S. the scanner will not work on any old lottery tickets only new tickets after the upgrade.

Worst App Ever

Approximately a month or two ago the app was “upgraded” and it went from a really great, super well functioning, user friendly app and became the worst app that I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with. Once the “upgrade” was installed I couldn’t log in at all and had to change my password because I couldn’t remember the old one and the thump print access was no longer letting me in. So I changed my password and since then I definitely don’t have the ease of use of my thump print access anymore and I can’t seem to find anyway to reestablish it. The other major flaw since the “upgrade” I have to actually reboot my phone at least once or twice a week to be able to successfully log in, the screen either goes to full white or it says “oops, it’s a 500” whatever that means? I have no idea other than it means to me that I have to reboot the phone again in order to do the simple task of logging in. I’m a daily player and this is beyond frustrating! I use many apps on my phone on a daily basis, this is the only one that is causing these sorts of problems.

Great app never any problems with it the login is really fast and let you use all the standard security features like pin fingerprint when you’re in a hurry it gives you that last couple minutes to get your numbers and we’ve all been there before You get to the line to many people and you have like three minutes to get the numbers in before the machine shuts off ,with the app you don’t have that problem just put your numbers in and you’re good to go quick and effortless Plus it gives you the option of re-playing numbers that you’ve played before so if you played them on Monday and it’s Tuesday and you want to play if you’re playing the same numbers you can just choose replay and it will put all of them back in there for you awesome great great app I love it

Getting better but…

With all the technology there should be some way for this APP not to ask me every single time for my Log In information. It’s really annoying. It doesn’t even ask to give one the option of remembering it or not. Once again, no information is being retained. That includes login info and previously played numbers. I’m tired of having to print out my numbers to play them over again. It’s back to a 1 star for me until you fix this. It keeps happening, so you must be aware of it and should be able to prevent it from happening. I don’t know what recently changed, but it’s awful. It doesn’t retain LOG IN information. Get rid of the winning numbers that block that screen when you open the app. We know where to find them. Maybe we’re looking for different result numbers than what pops up there. It’s very annoying. It’s also not remembering what Numbers I recently played. What a pain to have to type them in every single time. I don’t know them all by heart. It seems whenever there are improvements it actually seems like the app took several steps backwards. I’m not the only one. I talked with several friends and family members. We’re all complaining.

Horrible Update That Still Doesn’t Function

The new version of this app is absolutely terrible; a perfect example of form over function. First, for months the app has not worked for purchasing unless logged into WiFi and it STILL DOESN’T WORK in the new version. You can no longer purchase tickets directly from your bank account, now you first have to put money into the lottery app before being able to make a purchase, which is a huge PITA. After buying tickets you now have to back out through multiple steps to get back to main page to buy tickets for a different game. The prior app was far more efficient and user friendly. I could put tickets for three different games into the cart and check out all at once, which took 30-45 seconds. Now you have to complete purchases for each game before paying back to buy for a different game. It would be faster to go to a physical location and buy the tickets than to use this worthless app. which can’t EVER verify your physical location. Instructions? Nope. Someone somewhere decided pretty pictographs and icons would be better than actually having an app that was functional and user-friendly. This app is a complete fail with no redeeming qualities.

Why contracting-out government services doesn’t work

This app couldn’t be worse. There was NOTHING wrong with the old app, but they hyped the “new, improved app” for more than 6 months. And it is a flat-out failure. It is built upside down. Upon opening, all you really can do is choose numbers or make quick picks. You’re not signed-in yet, that option is not available. The next step is to pay. But you aren’t signed-in. So you sign-in, and your chosen numbers are lost. You must choose again. Now you need to pay. But it won’t just accept a payment, you have to put funds on deposit, a wasted step. But you go ahead and add funds to your account. Of course, your chosen numbers are lost again. So you choose your numbers for a third time, and you’re done. But wait. You wanted to play two different games. You just bought your Mega Millions ticket. To get a Powerball ticket, you have to start over. First-off, whoever approved going live with this new app should not only be fired, but should be sued. This couldn’t be any worse than it is. A disaster.

Does The Job But Room To Improve

So I’ve been using the app since it was first released. It’s nice having the ability to purchase draw tickets without having to leave the house and can now replay numbers or play favorites. Also nice to be able to check tickets without leaving the house. That said there are a couple improvements that could be done that would make it a much better app. -Lower the minimum deposit amount to $5, I would figure this would be a no brainer to make responsible gaming easier. Sometimes I just want to play a $5 quick pick on Lucky Day instead of $10. -I have the iPhone 14 so checking physical tickets can be tricky as the app doesn’t auto focus like the old versions on older phone. I have to do pinch and expand or move the phone up and down to get it to focus. Wish they would fix it to auto focus. -Have the ability to deposit proceeds from physical tickets into my lottery account. There have been times I’ve tried redeeming a $100 winning scratch off at a gas station and they won’t do it because they don’t have the cash. Would be very convenient if I can scan the ticket to check and also have the ability to “claim” it on the app and winnings deposit into my account which I can withdraw. Basically do what I can do at the physical vending machines when checking a ticket.

Junk

Downloaded the app so that I didn’t have to run to the store every time I wanted to play the lotto. Unfortunately, after creating an account, they claim they sent a “verification email” to the email address I used to create my account, with steps to follow to complete the registration process and to be able to start using the app. The email link is supposed to be valid for 4 hours, however, I never did receive the email. I even clicked the “resend link” button to have the link sent to me again, and still, NOTHING. You’re better off just purchasing tickets at your local participating stores and forgoing this junk app.

Not at all like purchasing from retail even though that’s what they advertise

I added funds to my account to play the mid-day “pick 4” daily draw at 11:26AM before the drawing. The app withdrew from my account at 11:30AM but it was only for the evening drawing and not for the mid-day drawing, even though the mid-drawing is at 12:40PM. I had the winning numbers in the exact order but since the app only withdrew from my account for the evening drawing, I did not get to win. I intentionally made a deposit over an hour before the mid-day drawing so I could play it. Don’t make the same mistake I did and buy your tickets in store if you want to make sure you’re in the game you’re paying for. I called the support center and they basically told me I’m SOL and should’ve bought a ticket in store instead. Using this app costed me $5,000. They also don’t state any rules regarding the use of apps on the Illinois Lottery website meaning they can screw you over whenever and however they choose. Useless app.

New update needs kinks worked out

The new app is not yet 100% functional. You need take an extra step and deposit funds into your “app account.” Although it was funded immediately, it’s still an extra step I have to take and is therefore another time killer. Apps are supposed to be convenient, not a burden on the user. I’ve never had issues with location services (like some people mention) on the last app version, but am experiencing location service problems with the new version. Consider deleting the app and reinstalling before going through the purchase process only to be denied and leaving you frustrated. All functions are still a crapshoot. Adding an Extra Shot may cause the app to freeze crash. Then you have to start over. Rinse>repeat. After four failed attempts to use the app, I finally just logged in from Chrome and used the desktop page.

Every update brings a new problem

Just updated app in order to play new instant games. Now, when playing the instant online games, the home button no linger works from those screens. So after playing an online instant ticket you have to close the app in order to get off of that screen. Illinois needs to fire whomever is responsible for the app. Update - uninstalling and reinstalling the app did fix that problem with the home button; but this should not have been necessary. The frequent “oops” screen that comes up when trying to switch to another screen (which makes you go back to Home Screen and try again) is still a major annoyance and has been since previous updates. I now just expect to have to make two or three attempts to do most anything successfully on this app and that is a sad statement to make. And yes - location is turned on for the app.

Fast Play is fun and the app is great, but…

It’s interesting that Catch Some Cash is one of the dominant games advertised, yet the algorithm seems to function the same for most non-winning tickets. The moment I hit a grid for a big fish, I am guaranteed a loss every single time. This doesn’t really seem coincidental. It’s totally possible to win playing Fast Play, but it seems like as a digitized version, there is an algorithm that’s kind of working against hitting big prizes. Which is probably why most of the unclaimed jackpots are in-store purchases… I don’t feel like digital players really get the same odds. Anyways, it’s still fun and you can win decently if you play smart. The app design is really great, and I’ve run into very few issues.

The new Release

So far I am hating the new app release. Sorry team, I’m sure you all worked hard to release this upgrade. The UX/UI is terrible. Some functionality is lost also. There is no cart? So I can’t save my selected numbers, go to another part of site and still have my selection saved. I have to buy each lottery type and check out separately, then go back and play the next one? I liked being able to place Powerball, mega, and lotto in my cart and THEN check out. Seems like a lot more work now. When playing powerball, the first numbers all show, but to see the actual power ball selection I have to scroll down. Unnecessary step in my opinion. It’s only the first day but I’m disappointed. I was looking forward to a big improvement in this release.

Old app was better (and that’s saying a lot)

It pains me to say this, but the old app was better. It was easier to get funds in and out, I could purchase multiple drawings of different games (I.e. buy one mega millions, one power ball and one lottery ticket at the same time in a single checkout). Now I have to buy each ticket individually and so far I’ve only been able to purchase one mega millions ticket. Every time I try to buy a powerball ticket it just says “something went wrong”. I’ve had the app for 30 minutes now and I’m already so frustrated it makes me wonder if this was even properly beta tested before it was rolled out. There was an easy selection process that was user friendly in the old version with a “check out” feature. That isn’t on this version, or if it is, it’s certainly not easily accessible. All in all, I had higher hopes for this new version but alas it is a big disappointment.

Sign- in problems

This is a great app which I enjoy using except for the fact that it has sign in problems. The facial recognition does not always work properly. when I open the app it will not allow me to use facial recognition until I go to settings each time and disable and re-enable it every time. If this is a security feature then the customers should be made aware of it otherwise it’s very frustrating to have to use Settings each time I want to sign in using facial recognition. Maybe this is just a quirk that can be worked out. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

Scanner is very difficult to use with iPhone 13 and 14 Pro Max

I waited to write a review until I could test with a new phone, to make sure it wasn’t an issue with my device. On both my previous iPhone 13 Pro and on my iPhone 14 Pro Max, the scanner very rarely can read the barcodes on scratch off tickets. It has to have the perfect amount of light and you have to be the exact distance away from the card to get it to work, as the app doesn’t recognize the iPhone has multiple cameras. If you’re too close, the barcode is way too blurry. If you pull the phone far enough away for it to be in focus, the barcode is too tiny for the app to detect it. It takes me about 20 minutes to read one ticket. It’s faster just to go to the gas station than to use the app.

Better than ever

I’ve been using the app for years and didn’t really care for it because there was a dollar limit. Since the updates I actually love it and prefer it over going to the store. My mom plays the lottery everyday fatefully, she doesn’t have the app but last week she didn’t have time to play before the drawing and called to see if I was close to a store to play for her and I wasn’t but I played in the app for her. The app is really convenient and it saves you from having to rush to the store and hope the person in front of you doesn’t have a page full of numbers and you miss your chance to play!!!

Not working

I love this app. It’s great to buy my lotto tickets if I forget to get them at the store and I also love to be able to scan my tickets and see if I won. But for the past week or so the app has not been working I don’t know if there’s some sort of issue or if you guys aren’t even aware of it but it be great if the app would work. I tried deleting it and re-adding it and that does not work either. Once you get this fixed I’ll go back up to five stars!! I’m changing my review to five stars I did try again to uninstall and reinstall it and now it is working!

Ways to deter people from winning because Illinois doesnt want to pay out $

Illinois recently switched to Camelot to handle these services. If you need to change your address or update your card info, you have to wait SEVERAL months for this to take effect. Another way MONEY HUNGRY Illinois doesnt want to pay up and cut corners by hiring this lame company Camelot. The phone number to call is useless because repa say its up to Camelot. Its nothing we can do. However, the same error messages are shown when you attempt to change online. The ap has NOTHING to do with online access. Illinois blames it on Camelot when they control their website itself. So which is lying? Typical of Illinois and their poor choices managing money once again! If this is not fixed soon, I will take it to a news anchor! They will be glad to BLAST the story on an already strained Illinois! Shame on you Illinois!

My payout of $90 is taking two weeks

This app will tell you everything about gambling. Take every ounce of information from you, confirming your validity, taking payments from you for play at record speed. Getting paid takes 3-5 business days with some banks(I learned from the first chat agent) in the first week), or it takes 5-7. Not including weekends at certain other banks because they might think it’s fraud………..So nearly two weeks. I won $100 on the 11th and apparently won’t see this money until the 23rd, possibly. And it’s $90. Lol. They are offering me winnings in the millions in my emails 3 times a day. But can’t pay $90 and certainly not as quick as they’ll deduct that same $90 from your account. The information provided was fairly stale. Happy capitalism everyone. Muah.

Give us the old app back

The new app is extremely frustrating. The old app was much more user and time friendly. I dislike how complicated purchasing tickets is now. The hassle of having to first deposit funds is frustrating, because it takes additional time to add funds then go back and purchase tickets. Also I do not like that the minimum deposit is set at $10. I don’t always want to deposit $10 in the account, some days I only want to buy $2 or $4 worth of tickets and not commit to a $10 deposit. The new app has caused me to purchase less lotto tickets and has annoyed me to the point that I don’t find playing the lottery games fun or enjoyable anymore, and now just choose not to play. Whoever approved the new app features, please rethink how functional and customer friendly the old app was. This is a disappointment.

Awful. Wow.

The old app was outdated, but at least it was an app that worked. This is a web page so the app is just a glorified browser (it’s only a 10MB app)... there is almost no difference between the app UI and mobile browsing UI so even if it is the right resolution it still feels more dated when I have a loading bar going across the top to change content. It is slower, and less intuitive than the last one. Super annoying how it takes about 5x as long to quick pick multiple lines for a purchase. It’s a major step backwards. Doesn’t even seem to support Face ID. Not sure what the huge update was really about but it’s way worse. You have to load money into a wallet like your iPass or CTA card with deposits instead of making actual ticket purchases. Hopefully the desktop version works better.

Extremely Convenient

Since the pandemic some lottery places has either stop selling lottery or some just pay out when you win. This app allows you to play as much as you like & when you win they put the money right in your account in about 48hrs. So, that mean very little contact with the public & you have to wonder if they are gonna pay you if you win. I’ll probably never play in-person unless it’s a scratch ticket. I absolutely love this app. I wish I would’ve started earlier...

update broke the app

How to reproduce the issue? Buy any instant ticket, play instant ticket. When you're done with the instant ticket hit the home button. Result? Nothing. Literally the app will not take you back home. Why does this matter? Well, if you can't click home and you happen to win, it holds your money in the ticket and you can't keep playing or do literally anything with your money because the system is flawed enough to believe you didn't play your ticket yet, even though you actually did, but it isn't counting it because you can't click a home button. By home button, I'm referring to the little house on each of the tickets. Honestly, this only started after you added the new 3 dollar game that I've noticed.

Convenient

I love the convenience of being able to check tickets and scratchers on the app. Also the convenience of being able to play from the app. *******maybe in the near future there will be an option, when you scan and have won, to add funds from winner to your app account to be able to play again from your phone. **** also, maybe an option to scan play slip to easily play on the app. Instead of putting in numbers one by one. ****

Poor experience

This app is very behind on what it should be. I have tried contacting customer support and I have received zero help. Right from the start, will not accept bank information, and doesn’t allow any withdrawals other than check form. Yes I’ve tried multiple accounts that do allow money to come in through this app. For some reason even when I withdraw through check (forcefully so) it’s been pending for 4 days now. Also I noticed you are restricted on what you can see on your account unless you have funds to play games. I’m willing to take some advise on these problems since the customer service has been a joke.

Easy to play

Love this app I have been using this for a couple of years now and absolutely love it. I am able to play my favorite games without leaving the house or making it up the store in time for the draws. The only downfall is waiting a few days to get your money transferred to your bank account for wins under 600 and weeks if you win big if you request a check. If you win over 600 you can call and make a claim and go to the lottery agent to cash in on Normal business days though which is nice.

This was an upgrade?

This app is awful. First of all, what’s the deal with requiring money to be deposited before I select numbers? No one goes into a store and gives the cashier a bunch of money and then selects items off the shelves. But ok fine! I deposit the money and then I go back to powerball and find that all of the numbers I picked are all gone. I have to start over. I go back, once again, pick sets of numbers. Ready to go with my money that’s already been paid for something I haven’t purchased yet. I try to finalize and I’m told that I can’t purchase because I’m not in the state of Illinois. I’m in Bloomington in the heart of Illinois! And yes, before you ask, I allowed the app to detect my location and all other apps and devices show me living in Bloomington. And one more thing, why did the app wait until after it took my money before it decided to determine that I’m in another state? After I wrote up this review (and before I hit submit) I tried to buy again and it apparently got my state right and it worked. But still not very customer friendly. But it’s state government, so why should that be a surprise?

Illinois Lottery review

When the Illinois Lottery changed its Contractor in 2019 that operates the App you could tell that they lacked experience in running a lottery system. Prior to the takeover, players could follow on the App where winning tickets were purchased within minutes. It took the new contractor months to figure it out but only for certain games. Here we are a year and a half with a new contractor and players have no idea where winning tickets for the Mega Game or the PowerBall Game winning tickets are sold on the App. You have to search the Media Sites the following day to find where winning Jackpots are Sold.

Haven’t been able to use since the update

The app was great, especially in this time of wanting to go out for frivolous reasons. I loved it - cheap entertainment. Now it get stuck on the “loading “ page and won’t open, even after reinstalling. I’d gladly give five stars… if I could use the app.********** IMPORTANT*********** They’ve fixed the issues! No settings changes needed. It’s nice to see developers responding so quickly! Back to playing… “Show me the money!” 🤣

Great app for on the go

The only thing I would change is give us the ability to change numbers on a ticket that we bought in advance. You could even restrict the time to do that to 7 pm the day of the drawing since the cut off for buying a ticket is 9 pm the day of the drawing. Since it is all done electronically on our personal account there is no concern about “fraud” as if someone was trying to do that with paper ticket.

Can’t view past purchase history - app falls flat

The app is intuitive enough - note to developers: enhancements that would show how many draws are left when I log in in my profile or better yet the last date when my draws run out. I would rather the app remember how many draws I have then to try to remember myself. I would purchase more just adding this feature. Would also like a push notification to remind me when my draws purchased are running out. Would like to be able to track my purchase purchase history as well and what games and numbers I played. It would also be nice if the app remembered my picked numbers.

Easy And Fast

I just want to say I enjoy this app because I can lay in the bed and patiently decide my numbers. No long lines, no rude tellers and it’s fast and easy! The only con to this app is... when you upload money to your wallet, the money comes out right away. When you win it takes 3-5 business days to retrieve you earnings. It’s not a big con but it would be nice to receive the winnings into the bank account with the same speed. Great app tho🔥🙌🏾

Who wants to be a millionaire!

I always wanted to be rich. I always wanted to be somebody. I wanted to be the guy that buys everything for everybody. That’s why I always played the lottery for the last 40 plus years. I never won the big one, I almost had to give up. I’m in a nursing home right now and I don’t get out much. That’s why the online lottery is perfect for me. I can still play all the games from my bed, with the help of my nurse. Thanks, Illinois Lottery!

Convenient!!

I love this app! It’s easy to use and a great way to play if you hate standing in lines like I do! It will let you know if you win or lose and you can see it. I use to stand in line to play my numbers then misplace my tickets or forget to check them! I don’t have that issue anymore and it does not require a lot of effort on my part. The app makes it super easy to play occasionally. Now, all I need is some winners luck!😁😁😁😁😉

This location detection isn’t working

I’m clearly in the state of Illinois and no where near another state border, but the last few night I get a random error that says I can’t purchase before I’m not located in the state. I’d be in the exact location I bought online last week. I’ve even tried using via wi-if or just my phone’s GPS. Even though the app on my phone clearly shows my location as being in Illinois, this app incorrectly states I’m not. Since the app was just updated last week, it appears there was a bug in the latest update that screwed for the location detection part.

Bad app

Scanner works as well as a wet blanket. Whoever wrote this app loves red tape. Multiple steps to buy a ticket. Multiple sign in requests. Super fast time outs. You must now fund your account before you can buy so in that sense another set of multiple steps to pay. You can’t add to a cart then choose more tickets , you are forced to buy after each ticket so more multiple nonsense. Find the app designers and shoot them, or let them do a job they are more suited for, like washing dishes.

Total fail on new app

I cannot believe that you get get so much wrong with an “upgrade”. The old app was a bit dated but I could do everything I wanted with it. Below is just a sample of my complaints: - You have to make a deposit to you account before you can purchase a ticket instead of just purchasing what you want with the credit card on file. - A minimum of $10 can be deposited in account. So, if I have some money in the account from winnings but not enough for the next drawing, it doesn’t just charge me the difference like in the old app but instead I have to deposit at least $10 in my account. - Doesn’t have a shopping cart where you can purchase all of your tickets in 1 transaction. - Requesting quick picks takes more steps than before. - I used to get emails with my numbers sent to me immediately. Unless it’s on a 3+ hour delay, it doesn’t appear that emails are sent anymore. All in all, this is awful app. Bring the old one back!! The only reason I selected 1 star is because it won’t let me select 0.

Mobile app is not mobile friendly

What good is a mobile app when all it tells you when you try to purchase tickets is “can not verify that you are in the state boundaries “. Call the number given and they tell you that the cell service doesn’t have strong enough signal to work. At the time of trying to purchase the signal was 3 bars LTE. So while in town I try to purchase tickets. Just to see what it would do and the same screen shows stating can not verify in state boundaries. Really I have 5 bars and LTE service in the middle of Marion, Illinois. Poor mobile app and support is pretty poor too. I have had this app a while now and it worked great but in the past 3 months it is horrible.

Old app was wayyyyy better!!

This new app is terrible!! The old app only needed the scanner added was all!! You use to be able to get your pic 3 for however long and it would put it in you account!!! I’ve been screwed on this new because it takes the money out daily don’t know if you have enough money or not!! My pic 3 came in last week and I thought I already paid for it and it said I didn’t have money in there!! This app is a joke!!!! Justin Allen

No Face ID for iPhone X and other annoyances

What a PITA to login every time. (Do they want people to use this app or not??) They support Touch ID but not Face ID, which is on every new iPhone. Please fix this. The best thing I can say about this app is that you can use it to scan tickets that you physically purchased in a store. Update: After using it for a couple weeks I find the “Results” button to be horrible. It feels like the app is dead, that’s how long it takes for the results to display. You wind up tapping it several times because it does nothing. Why not preload in background so when you press the button it responds instantly? Frustrating Password Change Experience

I was extremely disappointed with the password change functionality in the Illinois Lottery app. The app does not allow users to paste passwords, forcing them to manually type lengthy and complex passwords twice. In today's world, where password managers and generators are common, this is a significant inconvenience. It would greatly improve the user experience if the app allowed pasting of passwords during the password change process. I hope the developers address this flaw soon for a more efficient and user-friendly experience.

Time Saver

In this my first week, the app worked flawlessly; no hiccups, no bugs. Initially, I bypassed the app after reading a majority of negative reviews. A problem the app solved is the error message “unable to find your location,” which prevented me from using the iPhone to play the lottery. Playing through the app is faster than playing from my computer. I imagine that will come in handy if I ever need to make a last minute transaction.

Lacks basic functions

This app needs work. #1 The cart button is not constantly visible. After adding a purchase to your cart and then leaving that screen to do anything else, it’s impossible to get back to the cart. There’s no button anywhere. 99% shopping apps/sites known to man have a cart button that is constantly visible. #2 The menu bar at the bottom disappears on some screens and it’s impossible to get back to the main screen without hitting BACK - BACK - BACK - BACK - BACK - BACK - BACK - BACK - BACK - BACK - BACK.... annoying right? These are BASIC functions that any low rate developer should be able to figure out.

Garbage!

Every time I use the app on cellular it tells me that I’m not in Illinois. I definitely am. Live chat was useless. Nothing on this app works. I scanned a ticket was say it “My ticket is being scanned. Please wait...” and then did nothing. I have to login in every time I open it instead of leaving me signed in or using Face ID to login. Oh and when I enter my payment card in it just goes to a blank screen and never actually adds it. I’m sure I’ll end up getting multiple charges on my card now. This app is a joke and the app designers should be ashamed releasing this garbage. I’ll just keep going into the store to check and get my tickets.

Update made app unusable

After updating when I access the app I get a screen saying it’s verifying that I am human, but it says it is taking longer than expected. I clicked refresh, no help. clicked on “privacy” and “terms” which takes me to some other app/website but nothing I do allows the app to open. I can access the “Illinois lottery website” and see this verification pop up for a second and go away and can access the website so nothing is wrong on my end it is an app issue. I am unsatisfied and won’t buy tickets over a website page so I guess I have to go to a brick and mortar store or not get tickets.

Tell me when I win or loose.

My problem is the app has no problem telling me when it withdraws from my bank. I need it to tell me when my numbers win or loose. I should not have to search to find out or fill out a form to collect my winnings. The app should do that. It is good for scanning a ticket that I go to the store and purchase. I think I will continue to purchase my tickets from the store and use the app for scanning only.

DON’T GIVE ILLINOIS AN INTEREST-FREE LOAN

Since we now are required to deposit funds on on the app in order to purchase lottery tickets, Illinois is no doubt hoping people will maintain a balance greater than what they need for immediate purchase. This , in effect, provides Illinois with an interest-free loan from the balance of any unused funds. I also wouldn’t put it past them to expire balances that have sat unused too long, thereby forfeiting those funds until you go through some painfully convoluted process to recover those funds. If enough people don’t bother with that process because they would only be sacrificing a few dollars the state stands to profit greatly. So, only deposit what you need for your current purchase.

Simply garbage

Nothing is more aggravating than to bend over backwards to spend your money. This app is garbage. It is only good for a single use. Once I return to the app a completely different app magically appears that somehow manages to keep my login information while dumbing down its own functionality. It’s still an Illinois lottery site, without the scanner and all features are pushed to a drop down box at the upper left corner. The original site as advertised in the apps store only comes back after a complete deletion of everything followed by a complete reinstall which, you guessed, it only lasts after a single use.

Glitch

You can’t select a past winning date and jump to the date to see the past winning numbers for that day. I like to research past winning numbers. I use to be able to do this for pick 3 & pick 4 especially but now if I select a day, month and year it just stays on the same page. Unless you use the back arrow which could take hours if you trying to check past winning numbers from 5 years ago. Please fix this. Other than this malfunction the app it great!
