First off, this game is amazing. I played the whole thing on a PS5 with a controller and it was great. SO great, in fact, that I decided to get the Mac version through the App Store. I have a few other games that I own on Mac and/or Apple TV or play through Apple Arcade that have controller support, so I didn't even think to check before buying this. Unfortunately... playing on a trackpad on my macbook is not ideal, especially when I'm trying to use this game with a projector to give a fun demonstration to my English club for an ESL school. The kids still had fun with the concept, but gosh it would have been a lot easier if I could have simply passed a controller around. For that reason... The game itself is 5 stars in my book, and I'll definitely bump up my review here if they add controller support in the future, because that's the only thing missing from this version in my opinion.
Inscryption is the best game I have played in a LONG time, and I am so glad they made a version for Mac. I can't stop playing. I hope to see more from these developers in the future and maybe even some expansion on the world of Inscryption itself.
OK, so I get past the tutorial and start my first real match, but then after I get the 2 Squirrel Potions, I lose the match and it askme. to combine a card from my deck to make a more powerful card that is a mix of other cards in my deck (it asks me to customize a 'Death' card with my name). After I choose a name for my 'Death Card' it just sits at my 'Death Card' doing nothing. I pushed every button, clicked every button, and my new 'Death Card' just sits at thje card and does not let me get past it. Giving it 1 star again...and requesting a refund. I wated for them to fix it the first time, and now, it still isn't working. MONEY BACK please!!!!!!
It is an amazing game worth nothing less than 5 stars, there was a bug that stopped it from working passed the tutorial but it is fixed now and working perfectly.
The game started fun, but I quickly lost excitement. Heavily repititious, even though the card and puzzle dynamics were decently varied and unique. I was really hoping to love it more, but sadly I did not. 3 stars for some inventive plot cration and game construction. Unfortunatley long-term playability is just not what this game is able to produce -- at least for me. The developers are clearly talented. I'll be excitedly anticipating their next effort....
This is the most original game I've seen in a very long time. I saw one review claiming to have spent 4,000 hours in the game. I thought it was a stretch, but after playing the game, I can see why.
After the update it finally let me play and i was a fun experience i didnt even know i was progressig in the game at first but it was a fun experience.
Worst tutorial. The anticipated fun was soon lost when I soon realized the tutorial spent more time trying to impress me with its self than showing me how the game functions, and how much fun I would soon experience. Looking for fun or refund, whichever is easiest for you to provide
I thought maybe it had been updated, but as of 6Aug 2022 this just crashes after tutorial and you can go no further. I have this on Steam as well, no crashes there, so I know how the game plays when correctly functioning. I will update if a fix comes out, but stay away until then. Running on M2 Macbook Air.
Yea like the other reviews say it gets stuck after the tutorial and you have to quit out (wish I looked before purchasing but was really excited to play this). Even the 2 minutes I actually got to play had constant frame dips. Can it just get fixed please.
Looks like it bugged out after the tutorail. Goes to show me my story, says "Oh Yes" and then crashes there everytime. nothing happens. Shame because I know it's a great game. Watched a lot of it on twitch. Hope it's fixed soon.
Buyer beware... this app was recommended by the App Store, but it's unfinished? A) you can't click "New Game" making "Continue" the only option B) It freezes at the end of the tutorial when it says, "Let me recall your story" C) the graphics feel ported, like a SNES game? All in all, this feels like a beta that is looking for feedback, not a game selling for $13.99. I'm feeling pretty dumb for having bought this. My mistake will hopefully not become yours...
