Once IUCU added the auto-photo feature to the mobile deposit workflow it seems to me the app is as good as any other mobile banking app out there. One tip, use your web account login to relabel and order multiple accounts to make knowing which is which in the mobile app!
Love the app. Helps me keep track of my accounts and transfer easily. However, on occasion it crashes and puts up a message saying that the account information isn’t currently available. This can be troublesome while trying to shop since you can’t check your balances. When this error occurs it also won’t allow you to transfer money which has actually caused issues for me trying to pay bills a time or two. Other than that one hiccup, the app is great.
I have enjoyed using the IUCU mobile app for a number years. Each iteration prior works very well, without visual irritations, and have been intuitive. The newest update is far less intuitive, and has seriously irritating flashing green boundaries on the check picture taking phase. Have they thought about people who have seizures? It is highly likely to trigger one with the flashing and non-stable screen. For those with visual over stimulation issues it is also very frustrating. Add to this it is not as intuitive as in the past. You open up the tab to mobile deposit a check, and it isn’t as straight forward as in the past. The rest of the app seems as straight forward as in the past. I guess they didn’t get the memo “If it ain’t broken don’t fix it”. This time: It’s broken. It’s time to fix it.
More often than not I have to take multiple pictures of the back of the check to get it to accept the pictures. It’s gotten to the point that whenever possible I just go to the bank rather than use the app.
IU Credit Union has a great banking program on the WEB, and this mobile App has everything I need on the go. The App gets regular updates & never lags behind new hardware or software releases by Apple. That enables me to benefit from the hardware & software improvements immediately. Keep up the great work!
Viewing balance of accounts quickly is satisfying. Being able to transfer funds quickly and pay on my credit card with IUCU Mobile is so convenient and saves time.
Why the removal of transfer money to pay a credit card loan?
It used to allow to me to transfer money from my account to the credit card loan I had for the payment but it seems as though that feature has been removed? Why it made life so much easier. Other than that love the app.
While this app works reliably, I would love it a lot more if it was updated to the modern age with financial spending graphics, folders for allocating funds, recurring fees, etc. The fact that it lacks these features makes me consider switching banks often. Also just needs a visual update in general. I get the cream and crimson theme but it’s visually very dated. Give me some good charts and useful tools and I’ll be happy for a long time.

When depositing a check remotely there needs to be a better way to verify that the deposit has been received and is pending. There should be some immediate feedback on the app letting you know that it’s been received.
I’ve had my account since undergrad and a billion moons later it still serves me well. The staff in the Gary location are always friendly and helpful. The services are good as well.
I use this app for all my banking needs. I was out of state for two years and kept IUCU as my only checking account since I could deposit checks, and move money around in my IUCU accounts using it.
It’s a good app so far, but the checking balance doesn’t update immediately, so it’s sometimes hard to gauge how much I have available to me. The NFCU app does this, which is why I know it’s possible, but other than that, no complaints.
I’ve been with IUCU for decades. They have covered me 3 times for identity theft, rejoiced with me when I paid off my mortgage and the ladies at the 17th Street branch in Bloomington are like family. I ❤️ my IUCU!
It takes about 10 tries to get a picture that is acceptable to your system. They all look fine but are not accepted. This is a big waste of time and frustrating
I don’t want to look at ads when I’m checking my bank account. I get the ads are for your services but I promise I’ll seek them out if I need them. The pop up ads are particularly heinous, it’s not 1999.
