On 28 September 2021 I attempted to deposit a check, using the Kinetic mobile application to my checking account. This is my 2nd time using the mobile deposit feature and expected a 14-day hold on funds since this was the hold period on my 1st mobile deposit. I have been waiting patiently for funds to post to my checking account and it’s now a month later with zero correspondence on status of deposit. I’ve called customer service twice to inquire on the status and unsuccessful in talking to a human customer service representative. Instead I find myself stuck in a continuous automated telephone loop that eventually hangs up on me. I regret opening a checking account with Kinetic and disappointed in the hurdles I’m trying to overcome in making a mobile check deposit.
I am one of the unlucky account holders that cannot deposit checks through this app. Tech support knows about the issue and acknowledge it exists with some long-time accounts. I am going on 9 months of promises that it will be fixed, but I have yet to see any changes. As usual with businesses today, new customers are fine, it's the long time customers that suffer. Other functionality works as advertised and works well, but the length of time that has lapsed while fixing one of the main reasons for having this app is rediculous.
Mostly use the app for check deposits, and it seems to work just fine for me. I've only used it a few times that's why it's 4 and not 5 stars. (Real convenient not having to go to a branch or ATM to deposit checks!)
I have the TIC website bookmarked. THAT is the only way to go. You can see everything at one glance, including the color graphics. The app has zero eye appeal and not easy to maneuver from one task to another. I accidentally clicked one of my payee names. The app repeatedly prompted me to change the date. Eventually I had to power down, delete the app and returned to my bookmarked website. Not a favorite of mine.
