I’m a frequent flier on KAL and I use this app for everything from purchasing the ticket to selecting seats to ordering special meals and even changing ticket dates. I find it informative and user-friendly. All my information is saved making it easy to book and check in for my flights. I did not feel this way when the app first launched, but over the years there have been many improvements and now I find it very convenient and helpful to use.
If there’s a choice, I always prefer Korean Air. This app is one of the better airline apps. It’s not perfect, but way better than most and serves its purpose.
I don’t understand why we had to download a new app instead of update. Here are my problems: 1. I cannot open the app without giving permission to use my location, contacts, and a million things I cannot say no to. “Confirm” is the only way to go forward. 2. They got rid of the tabled dates and ticket prices in booking, which was super convenient. Now I need to click on the arrows next to the date and wait for the new price to load every time, which takes a long time EVERY TIME. 3. I can’t find the flexible dates option in search. +1, +2, +3 was a genius idea and should be back. 4. The price is very deceiving. In the previous app, the price for a round trip was shown in a table format, showing you which date has the lowest fare. In the new app, each flight has its own price. I ended up with a total of twice the price I thought it was. I deleted the new app at this point and cannot write any more review on it. The worst of it is that I cannot use the old version any more. I hated the new app so much I went to their webpage to book. Alas, they “upgraded” their webpage too.
Once we checked in to board at the front, we headed into the airplane. The boarding passes disappeared from the main screen but alas, the staff needed to scan boarding passes one more time right in front of the plane and we could not enter because according to the app we had checked in. We were stopped and could not enter the vessel. The staff had to return to the front and print out physical copies. This UX defeated the whole purpose of the app so much so that it needed a physical copy printed. Terrible unnecessary stress.
Doesnt render pages on iPhone SE (3rd gen) to enable check in. Cant agree to hazmat page. Also cant put boarding pass in wallet routinely on this model or iPhone 13. Very frustrating when on the road trying to check in. Also if you booked through Delta you get notified to check in but delta kicks you over to KAL, cant check in with delta app. Tedious pass through with no added value.
I purchased a ticket from Expedia. Both Delta and Korean Air were available, but only a delta flight matched flight time I want. I try to open a boarding pass from Delta app. But it just had a link to Korean Air website since the plane is actually a Korean Air. I can see a boarding pass with a ticket number from the forwarded link. But I couldn’t register that information on Korean Air app.
No functions work in this app. It isn’t even able to pull up my flight information. This is ridiculous to a point that it’s almost like a joke. Plus it will never give you the chance to live chat with an agent because “all agents are busy”. I don’t even know if there is any way I can check in online. This whole app is probably developed by a bunch of idiots.
Downloaded the new app and couldn't login because "No match for user ID". Tried everything (skypass number, social login, and user id) and it kept saying no match for that account. Finally called in and found out they reset my password without even telling me. Past trips are all gone. This app feels like a UI design upgrade and UX functionality downgrade.
The design of icon reminds me of 5-6 years ago not in a good way. Definitely not up to the current design language. UI and functionality are gotten worse. It is amazing that how on the earth you can make it worse than already terrible previous app. I see a few fake 5 star reviews which I can totally believe they are from Korean Air employees.
I fly a lot and must have dozens of airline apps. This one is the worst by far. Logging in is almost impossible. It doesn’t let me change seats. I prompts me to log in again and again. It doesn’t link my trips to my skypass account. I worry that if a company cannot develop an app they can not operate aircraft safely.
I downloaded this app because the old app Korean Air app is not working and showing message to download this new app. But this app is not responding after first time appear and closed out automatically on my mobile running with iOS ver 14.3. Developer need to be reviewed for upgrading the version for working condition. Thanks!
Why is this app force to share location, permission to access camera and so on? It says optional but there is no way to proceed to use app without allowing those permissions. This is no basic understanding for user experience and data access at all by this app developers!
I bought a ticket this morning, but I'm not understanding how my ticket's names are tied together. for example, my name is TRAN VO HAI NAM but the ticket is TRAN/VOHAINAM. I just want to make sure nothing goes wrong until I get to the checkin counter
It showed me a list of flights and cost. You have to select your choice but there is no way to select any. I tapped everywhere. Only was good to see the prices but was not able to book.
One example, I needed to find out which terminal to go to at the Manila airport, and I had to click through half a dozen menus to eventually find it. Very frustrating.
All my family member were linked to my sky pass, now it’s disappeared. If looks like I have to register them again. Why making downloading the new app instead of updating the current app. Frustrating.
You get lost in the app with just too many unnecessary stuff that I didnt want to waste time booking my flight anymore. Visually pretty only, ineffective confused app.
I am not sure why Koreanair down graded the app. The new app is not user friendly for every single things. Hope they test or use the app before release it.
I thought that the previous app was pretty primitive compare to most leading world airline apps but nope, they could actually hit a new low....congrats.
