So I have deleted the app reinstalled it. Logged out of the app and logged back in. I get many people coming to my library, the notifications appears at the top of my screen for a check in. Then I go to my app and nothing. It would be nice to see if people are saying good or negative things about my library. Also would be nice if the app properly worked!
I was so excited to find that little free library has an app! I’ve been saying for a while I wish I could find something like this!! But I have some complaints, I do not have a LittleFreeLibrary (yet my hubby is in the process of building me one for my birthday) but there are little free libraries that are not listed on this app, and it won’t let me add them because I’m not the caretaker for them! I feel like it shouldn’t matter who’s taking care of the library I should be able to upload the fact that there are missing ones people could be using, but might not know about. I live in the middle of the country so I was excited to find this app so that way when I go into town I could find different places to exchange books. But half of the Little Free Librarys I use are not on this app! Now there are quite a few that I didn’t know about that I have found on this app, but they need to do something different. Maybe they could create a separate tab where you could add different libraries that were missing without claiming ownership of them? But I feel like people are missing out because the owners of the libraries don’t know about this app!!
This is extremely helpful to locate FLL - I wish the blue banner on the top didn't cover 1/3 of the map on my phone...not sure why it's so big. Irritating. I've tried the routing, but it doesn't 'route' in the order I have selected them...I can't figure out how it is selecting the 'next' FLL to go to, but it makes no sense to me. I also wish the app intergrated more fully with google maps or whatever, it would be more convenient to have the routing in the app, as opposed to having the maps open...maybe it's not possible, I don't know. That said, overall I am happy to have this tool to find FLL, without it, I would not be looking for them very much.
I had no idea Little Free Libraries had an app??Everything about this is so easy to use, my fav feature is the bar at the bottom you can swipe up that shows you a list of every LFL closest to you. Tapping on the address linked to the library automatically copies it as well which is EVERYTHINGG and you can also add libraries onto a route and categorize them with indicators in the search bar which is just GENIUSS. thank you sm for this, it’s genuinely my favorite app now !! i WILL be checking it 24/7 and seeing all of the LFL I can find everywhere I go.
We’ve built our LFL and filled with books, had a launch party for the neighborhood and paid for a registration and sign, which is installed. But we can’t put ourselves on the map because we’re stuck in website- hell— a continual loop that says we’re registered under a different email ( true) and we should change it ( we did). But the website keeps asking us to change it back before we can go forward. We can’t get anyone on the phone and now we want to wash our hands of the organization and just serve the neighborhood unofficially. Unless you have infinite patience I don’t recommend entering into the endless loop of frustration that is this really, really bad website.
A very thoughtfully designed app for both Little Free Library stewards and fans alike. I especially enjoy the steward-only features like book and library updates - making communication with our patrons, using the app, a breeze. The map feature (with driving directions) is integral for LFL-hunts and book bombing expeditions. It was a pleasure being able to offer feedback as a beta-tester for the app - and watch it continue to take shape.
Love this app. I took a free class on app making at our local Apple Store and this is similar to the idea I used for the course. Suggest that Little Pantry locations be added too. The ability to check in and check out books as well as the ability to search for a specific book to see if it’s available in a library. A tie-into Goodreads app. I suggested to the Marine Corps Toys-4-Tots charity to create a similar app.
love this cute little app! definitely preferred the original logo and colors over the blue one. the search feature works well, but whenever I try to click on a heart to favorite a library, the app crashes immediately. as soon as they’re able to fix this glitch I’ll switch my review to five stars - love LFLs!! 📚✨
This is the coolest app right now. I really like being able to favorite all the libraries in my area to go and find all the cool stuff inside later. It is also so easy to update my library profile. If you have a library please add it to the world map cause you will get more visitors that way.
I am so excited this app is here! I love visiting Free Little Libraries in my area but using the website to locate them before was a little difficult. I love that this app is easy to use and I love that I can check in at different libraries AND get directions! I am so thankful this app exists!!!
I really like the app! When I go on walks I pick a far distanced lending library and walk there and back. More recently though it’s been stuck on the loading screen and won’t fully open….not sure if it on my end, but I’ve reset my phone, done an update, and the app still won’t open. I miss my app 😢
This app is such a great concept but clearly being produced by a company not supporting this app. The app freezes or crashes completely, you can no longer check in at any location without the app crashing and forget marking favorites, that feature has never worked. This is a shell of an app, and this non profit deserves better. Shame on JMC. Fix their app already, this has been going on for months.
Great app for little free libraries, my only complaint is my phone is in dark mode and I guess the app automatically goes to that dark mode making the purple markers kinda hard to see on the map, so it would be nice to change that mode within the app, but other than that it’s fine!
This app would be great if it would actually work😅. The check-in feature works once in a blue moon. This app is really just good for finding some of the Little Free Libraries, but everything they’ve added to the app (like the guestbook section) isn’t fun if it doesn’t work.
The app makes hunting for little free libraries so much fun!! Our family has made this a hobby. We can keep track of where we’ve checked in and keep and eye out for new ones that pop up around us.
Well thought out and easy to use. Only bit of constructive criticism would be to include an indicator specific for “children’s books” and/or a way to specify if there is a book category (or perhaps even a genre) the LFL is intended for.
It’s much easier to find all the little free libraries in my area and when I travel. I’ve used the app for about two years now and never had any trouble.
Finally! An app with a map that shows where Little Free Libraries are! Looking at the map, I am marking which Libraries I’ve visited so far. Since I travel a lot, this app will be sooo helpful and fun to use! Thanks for making this app!
This is a handy app, but the “search this area” button disappears once you use it and the only way to get it back is to Force Quit the app. A major design flaw.
I love this idea of little library’s in the community, I ride with my husband for Uber eats deliveries and sometimes I rather read a book than to use my phone.
I am so impressed with this app! As a Little Free Library participant. It is very cool to be able to upload new photos of the library or to add messages that people will see.
I completely love this app as a Little Free Library steward and user. It’s fantastic to be part of the Little Free Library community and this app really helps bring it all together
needs a way to update photos of each LFL. Several in my town lack a photo and I’d like to be able to add one each time I stop by. Would help the LFL owner know what state it is in and helps other travelers spot the LFL.
i go to Check-in and the purple submit button just has the loading symbol forever. problem has only been happening since a week about. not sure if it’s a bug or if anyone else is experiencing this?
Unable to check in. When it says I need to confirm my email, the link in my email doesn’t work therefore I’m unable to confirm the email. Would love if this can be fixed so i can start to ‘check in’ at little free libraries.
Why is it laggy? pregnant pauses all the time.. need an account to save a favorite. also it’s too many taps to get directions which is really what you always want. Better than nothing, but not exactly excellence in technology.
This is by far one of the worst apps I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. It’s an endless loop and one can’t get anything accomplished. They have made the app virtually impossible to navigate, so our reading library remains unregistered after paying a small fortunate for a charter number and plaque. Dissatisfied to say the very least.
Endless do loops if you are a new LFL Steward trying to set up an account and associate it with an LFL charter number. Forms that only partially load. Can’t accomplish what they tell you you’re supposed to be able to do via the app. I get that LFL is a nonprofit but someone got paid to make this defective app. It needs to be fixed.
amazing app. love it and i want to continue using it, but it won’t allow me to do any check ins. it shows a loading screen and never submits my check ins.
I downloaded this today and I’ve tried many times to get it to load but when I open the app, it shows me the purple screen and an endless spinning loading indicator. Doesn’t matter if I’m on wifi or data. I’ve quit the app and reopened it. I’ve reinstalled it. Nothing.
The dark purple used throughout the app is nearly impossible to see in dark mode, so I’m unable to really use the app. Change the dark mode variant in the color assets to something else and it’ll be fine.
The email confirmation link won’t open up on Firefox or Safari. I’ve tried sending a Help ticket but that page isn’t working either. Now this app is only useful as a map. I can’t even edit my profile. I’m currently using IOS 16.3.1.
Occasionally I get notifications on my screen from the app but I haven’t been able to open it in in years maybe? I have a pretty recent iPhone, there’s no reason it shouldn’t work.
Doesn’t keep you logged in. Copies unnecessary info when you want the address to a box. Map is slow to load or… The map never loads at all! Lots of bugs to fix. Please fix them.
