Used for wedding

After looking for multiple apps to use for a makeshift photo booth for our wedding I came across this one. It worked beautifully, it’s simple and is extremely effective for a nice little photo both(with a then the of the cost!). The only downside is that the main page cant be edited to do whatever you want, for example adding pictures. And if it can, it’s not simple to show me how. The other side is that if it could have a one time purchase option. For example $30 for a month use, with all the features would be nice. Since I don’t need a subscription, it was a use once situation. Overall very good app through!

Works Good. With a few tweaks can be better!

I have tried some other photobooth app in the ios appstore using my ipad and my dnpqw410 some are working as intended but not exceptional. I have noted this on my research online and had been suggested by peers as well. I would say the app is exceptional. Had some trouble but Christine from support was really helpful! Four suggestions to make the app better! First, An option for the welcome page for the uploaded image to be edited (like how you can edit the printlayout). Second, An option to click the uploaded images on a dropdown or a list as when it gets layered and takes space on the layout it gets hard to adjust and edit. Third, The QR sharing option, it pops out late (about 2sec after all sharing options pops out) after capturing the pictures (hopefully this is not intended). Fourth, an option to turn on and off the saving of single photo capture and printlayout on your device (this is going to be a life saver especially for users who are saving spaces on their devices.) Other than that its a good photobooth app.

Crashes when saving and no way to contact support

I purchased this app to use for my daughter’s graduation party this coming weekend and I am very disappointed that I have paid the $20 subscription fee so that I could have a seamless process and every time I try to do a video or a boomerang it tells me that it fails to upload I am trying this on an iPhone 13 Pro I am trying this onto iPad minis they are older Versions but they are updated with the latest software to run these apps I am also using the Lu Mesher app so that my guess we’ll be able to view the photos and send them while someone else is taking a photo and that keeps crashing as well. I cannot find any way to contact the support to get assistance with this as I am having this party this weekend and it is very frustrating that I paid the money. I researched for over three weeks different photoBooth apps for the iPad and I chose this and it seems like there are some very bad bugs that need to be addressed I would hope that someone could contact me in order to get this resolved and to provide some support if possible

No problems!

If you have been considering getting a app for a Photo Booth, this was a good one. I downloaded at least 30 different apps. This one was nice because you could download it and try it out a little bit before you committed to purchase. It had everything we needed. The ability to add our company logo and the event logo, there ability to share on the spot, lock screen option, and so much more. I had a few issues figuring out how to navigate at first, but I sent an instant message and got a response fairly quickly. Our participants really enjoyed this. Will be using it again in the future.

IPad Pro

I’m using the newest iPad pro 3rd gen, and this app works great. Customization to layouts can get tricky but the customer service responded promptly. I can also give you any advice as well, I’ve been using this app for almost 3 months. I love how it picks up my wps server printer instantly. Wirelessly prints with the commands on the app perfectly. I usually make most of my layout on Publisher then transfer a high quality jpeg for Start screen and layouts. The analytics page online is pretty neat so you can save customers numbers and email for future promotions. Jeff FotoPro Photobooths

Want to like, but buggy and poor support

I’ve done 3 events with this software and want to like it, but at $20 a month for the service, it really should be more reliable software. Besides needing to babysit the iPad for occasional hangs, the releases are just dumped on you and screw you over. Take the virtual assistant. Custom prompts used to kind of work. You had to figure out to make audio .m4a and get it in your iTunes library, but they played. Now, custom audio prompts will only let you select .mp3 files, but it won’t actually import and use them. If you rename a .m4a to .mp3, you can import the file, but your event file becomes corrupt. I learned this while trying to change one prompt on an existing event. Tell the bride all that time recording is now for naught on her big day… There just doesn’t seem to be any QA, so the releases come in a flurry (look at version history) If you have automatic update on, you can come back to an event and find they broke you overnight. Again, nice set of features and conceptually decent service, just poor quality, at least on iOS. There is a link to submit a support request, but I’ve never gotten a response. YMMV.

Great Photo booth software!

After downloading countless apps looking for an app I could download to use my iPad as a diy photo booth; I found the best. LumaBooth was a hit at my wedding! The only thing I really disliked was they only offer a monthly and yearly subscription. I really think they should offer a “one time event” option. After carefully purchasing tripods, lights, backdrop, printer and LumaBooth I deployed it for our reception and everyone enjoyed it so much they’re asking me to set it up for their next events. In conclusion, get Lumabooth, get new friends!

Works great but…2nd device?

Great app, does what is is supposed to do. However, when I access to my event album from a second device, it somehow changed my print layout settings within the app. I do drop off photobooths, and this app would be perfect if that didn’t occur. In the future, I will just not login from a second device, while the event is actually going as it apparently could change some things. I feel as though this is a glitch that should not occur, but the app still works perfectly otherwise.

Easy instant and amazing

Exactly what I was looking for! Take the pics and share it’s what a photo booth was meant to do not like the other apps where you have to go thru soooo many steps and then so difficult to share it just makes you not bother but this app is incredibly instant with so many ways to share or print instantly and best if all so affordable since I’m in a small budget but worth every penny

Great App, Just needs a free touches to be perfect

So I purchased this for a month to use at my baby shower today and my guests loved it. I like this app overall, however, there was a slight learning curve to setting up the interface. If the developer could improve the settings (specifically the font selections), add more visual prompts (especially for a loud environment), and give the option for it to go back to the welcome screen automatically after a session has ended instead of having to press the tiny “X” it would be nearly perfect.

Not reliable

I have had nothing but problems with the luma company as a whole. LumaBooth, LumaShare is easy to use but having to apps communicate never works. I also always have problems mirroring to TV for the slide show, either it won’t connect at all or a handful of videos come through. I tried my own hotspot, strong WiFi and secured…..none of it helped. On top of that the sms rarely go through. Then they convince you to have another subscription to their foto cloud to later send gallery because their apps aren’t working. Want to speak to someone to get answers, no one is available. Only contact through emails. Why is it so hard to find a reliable 360 software?

Good

I’ve been using this app and it’s good.. I’ve been paying monthly even sometimes i don’t have event in a month.. but yesterday I had an event And I was so disappointed.. at first sms sharing was fine till after 30 minutes sms cannot be used any more .. clients guests didn’t receive their photos on sms.. guest were all excited but didn’t get their photos. They went home expecting to get their photos .. others were able to share thru email and airdrop.. client(organizer) were so upset/mad/furius :(

Trying to look for a new photo booth app

I have been using Lumabooth for a couple years now and have never had problems until now. The software won’t even let me access anything in my photos gallery on my iPad, so it is difficult to use any images/photos to use to make a template. I have tried to use the files, on this iPad, etc…but these images are no longer in a transparent format. Makes it more difficult instead of “easier” as it says. unfortunate, because now I have to find another way to somehow make templates that will allow for my images to have a transparent background.

Great & Easy to use but is buggy with catastrophic flaws

Loved using the SLRBooth on PC so it was exciting to see an option to have the same great program on the iPad. Unfortunately, there is a major glitch with using the front-facing camera and video/GIF animation output. The image is reversed so all the text is backwards. It is nice for Live viewing and is flipped back correctly for prints/photos but look very amateur when the participants receive a backwards image. It really ruins the whole experience =( Everyone loves the trendy Boomerang GIFs but the flawed output feels like Old-School just trying to catch-up with new devices and technology. Would definitely rate it five stars with some bug fixes.

Best value in a pro-grade booth app

So far I’ve been quite impressed. Easy to make templates, although your creative control is limited. It handles email and SMS texting without your having to subscribe to additional services. With their assistant program you can print to a professional dye-sublimation printer using a Windows computer or tablet. And it’s relatively cheap - $199 per year. Most iPad booth software is subscription based but this rate is the lowest I’ve seen.

Awesome!

Great Photobooth app. I tried a few others but couldn’t find something that can do everything I wanted. It was a bit complicated to figure out how to customize the prints, but once I found out you could import any photo from my photo album it was simple. I didn’t have an actual printer, so I wanted something that my guests could text themselves the photo, and it was super easy! I’ll use this app again.

Really amazing but...

Had a great time designing and setting up all the customizations. Everything was really easy and I love that you can try everything out before paying. The virtual assistant was great too. It worked really great for the party and was a hit! I love that you can create strip prints and other layouts. My only wish is that they had per event pricing ($10 maybe?) vs having you subscribe for a recurring monthly/ annual subscription

Automatic Upload photos and videos issues

I’ve been using LumaBooth and DLSR booth for about 3 years and everything was great since recently upgrading firmware of both apps. Now , I have missing photos and videos on every single event, ex: took 50 photos and only 42 were uploaded and don’t tell me it’s an internet issue, I have to upload manually missing ones since guest could not find their pictures or create a google drive folder to share videos next day costing more time consuming and even worse, unsatisfied customers due to a software new versions issues

Stable and extremely easy to learn

Downloaded from App Store and had it setup in 15 minutes with artwork ready for event. Tested for hours in the office and was extremely stable. 360 is very smooth and being able to add music directly from the phone was a plus. Highly recommend for photo booth professionals. Nothing comes close for the price.

Worse choice

I was recommended this product but it’s been a nightmare. I’m trying to get help, no option to speak to anyone only via chat. Which after had to be handed off to another chat person to assist me took 15 minutes to get a response. I have an apple phone but not an apple product laptop so I can’t get the same app on my laptop to work. They offer a similar app that you use the same log in credentials but it doesn’t recognize that I’ve already paid so I can’t make any updates to my event. Extremely frustrating and I regret purchasing this!

Great Photobooth app

Love this app. And I looked at a lot before getting this one. It was perfect for my party! Loved the countdown feature between photos and that you can customize the features to fit your needs. Only suggestion would be that when your guest sends the picture to themselves that they only get the picture requested instead of all pictures.

Videos load too slow

Purchased this for my event at a local college and it was an epic fail. After spinning, the videos took about 3 mins to load before having to wait another 39 secs to send to sharing station. I did test at home but assumed it was my internet. Horrible assumption. Hooked up to my external hotspot at the event and the same thing was happening. After about 45 mins of trying to get this to work, I bit the bullet and purchased a different software. Because I was already late, didn’t have time to add an overlay. This was not a good experience for us.

Simple & Amazing

Our party isn’t until July but I figured I start using it now so I could have time to get used to it BUT it took me like half an hour to figure everything out! Everything was so straightforward and pairing it with Canva made it even better!! I suggest Canva to make designs(backgrounds & overlays) to use in LumaBooth. So stunning and simple. Love it!!!

Loved this for our wedding!

We set used this for our wedding and it was one of my favorite things!! Our guests loved it and it was so fun to see all the photos that were taken the next day. Easy to set up and super affordable! Will recommend to all my friends as a great, customizable alternative to paying a service for a photobooth.

Best & Most Affordable 360 App

I'm new to the photo booth business but I have tried 2 other other similar apps. I can honestly say that the LumaBooth app has been a lot easier to use than the first two apps I used. The LumaBooth app was a fraction of the cost of the other two apps as well. I would recommend this app 100% to anyone.

Entire pic library sent to all guests with url

I was able to lock down the iPad to single app mode and block guests from viewing the local camera library but didn’t see an option to modify what could be seen in the sent url. Not a big deal as guests enjoyed being able to see the others but they also thought it was broken.

50th birthday

I had been looking for a photo booth app to use for my DIY photo booth. LumaBooth had great reviews so I choose to use it. I was not disappointed, it was easy to use and customize. My family & friends had a blast using my Ipad with the Lumabooth App. Looking forward to using it for special occasions & holiday fun without the cost.

Love this App

I am a rookie in the photo booth game; this app is very easy use when it comes to setting up photos, and very easy for guests to use. I used it for the first time this past Saturday and it was a hit. Probably would have been even better if I had remembered to turn on the virtual background. Lol

Great Booth App w/ lots of options at a reasonable price

This app fully met our needs for a wedding selfie station. The picture/video options, as well as the send choices, are fantastic. We setup an iPad on a camera stand and added several ring lights. We loved the product and results.

Best photo booth app

I paid for a month subscription for my wedding. It worked fabulous. I was able to rotate the screen portrait or landscape. Designed my own backdrop. App never crashed like other apps. Had no issues at all. After paying and trying several other apps this one worked the best and cheap.

Now I realize the software for the Photo Booth is the real challenge, comparing printers was easy. I am a professional Technical Director at large venues and I continuously enjoy and use the software. I do wish the Mac version had all the pc features, but otherwise no problems. I use the software on both platforms.

UX is hot garbage

Really hoping this thing improves. The initial set up is slow and clunky and painful. Multiple pieces of software all with similar names all under the same company is super confusing. Having to write HTML to format an email in the single line on a box of seven point type. I get it, there’s a lot going on in the software but the user experience is one of the worst I’ve ever encountered. I’ll update this after my first event this weekend. So far I do not recommend, there’s gotta be something better.

Amazing product

This app is so easy to use! I downloaded it on my iPad and put it up on a tripod for my brother’s birthday. Everyone had a great time, we got hundreds of pictures, and it was so much cheaper than renting a whole booth. Highly recommend.

Loved it

I used it for one event so far and I've loved it. I did the $20/month subscription to make my event more personalized and it was worth it. It's kind of hard to figure out how to remove the standard Kate and Jack's wedding thing, but once you get that done the app is easy to use

Good App...hard to cancel subscription.

The app was very helpful and fun. But trying to cancel the $20 monthly subscription turned out to be difficult. I posted a review asking them to make it easier to cancel...more obvious for non-tech types. The developer updated the app accordingly - great work! My review went straight to 5!

Perfect for any event especially wedding.

I used this app with my ring light for my wedding and it was perfect. Super easy to use for myself and guests. I was able to customize the main Cree. With a picture. My guests loved being able to leave me video messages as well!

Stopped working with update- freezes

As a professional photographer, I would use this app for my photo booths. It worked great for two weddings, the third wedding it had an update and stopped working. I tried everything to troubleshoot and it would no longer allow sharing images. Super frustrating. Please don’t release new versions without fixing bugs. I had to remove the booth and take photos with my camera and it was very frustrating.

LumaBooth is a 4.9/5 star APP

LumaBooth is almost perfect, a great way to edit your projects in the app, easy to navigate, loads of customization, and multiple ways of sharing media. There is only one problem! You can’t add music to 360 videos, either it’s user error or it doesn’t work properly. I’ve spent so much time downloading different mp3 and mp4s just trying to get any audio on the slowmo videos and it never seems to work. I don’t want to give my clients a video with no audio, it feels like eating a sandwich with no bread. 4.9/5 I still love LumaBooth I just wish it was more perfect than it is.

Really good!

This app isn’t perfect but it’s getting there! The things that are lacking seem more due to Apple’s restrictions than on the part of the developers. They are making great progress and continue to listen to feedback that they get to make this photo booth app even better. Keep up the good work!

Had a photo booth set up at my wedding w/ this app and a ring light, and it was awesome! People had a great time taking pictures and gifs. Set up was easy and customization options were better than other apps we investigated. Will use it at my next wedding ;o.

Have subscribed to 2 other services more $$ but this is the best. Easy to setup and you don’t need internet at your booth the photos dropped when we got back to the office with our internet connection. Thank you!

Gif quality is bad and cannot text individual image

The app is easy to use and subscription fee is reasonable. The quality of the gif needs a lot of improvement for professional use, right now it just looks bad on my iPad Pro 12.9. Sharing via text sends the whole gallery instead of just one image like it does when sent via email or shared on Facebook.

Family reunion

Omg this really was talk off the event. Set it up on a iPad and created own custom back drop using curtains and pvc piping definitely recommend for any event where family or friends are gathering user interface was simple and self explanatory

DIY wedding photo booth

I used this app on my iPad for a DIY photo booth and my guests loved it! It’s super user friendly and easy to set up. I love the text and email sharing capabilities. I decided not to print pictures but it’s okay no one complained lol all photos were delivered in seconds. I recommend this app.

Peace-Love LumaBooth
