I use to go to hair salons, my head would break out and I’d have to take Benadryl and feel miserable for a couple days. Then I found Madison Reed, No more break outs! Also I want everyone to know if your hair coloring is coming out it’s not Madison Reed hair coloring, it’s the shampoo you’re using. There are certain shampoos that will take your hair coloring out quicker. Trust me I know, I only use them if I absolutely have to. Like head and shoulders, the blue bottle that treats the scalp(can’t think of it’s name right now), anything that treats the scalp of learned takes coloring out quicker. So, if you don’t want anymore break outs or sore scalps after coloring, Madison Reed is the product to use. Hoping this helps some people out there that went through what I went through
Beyond frustrated with this app and customer Service. The system won’t let you cancel an appointment and no one is available to answer the phones. Twice, I’ve waited on the phone for over 30 minutes without response. I finally navigated to a chat feature today (that was not easy to find and required multiple loopholes) and it said they were too busy. I stayed on and when a live person came to chat, I asked for appointment to be cancelled. We had a thorough chat where it was confirmed it was cancelled and it’s still on my profile. The app only wants to help you with color questions. Customer service is a convoluted maze to reach. App is not user friendly. Not easy to navigate. The premise of this program is great but I will not make appointment that can’t be cancelled. Oh, and my original appointment was rescheduled because the salon didn’t have the hair product. Company is growing faster than they can keep up. Better app support and better customer support are needed.
I was using eSalon for some time before I found Madison Reed. Their colors are amazing, love the try on function and all the recommendations. I’ve read some reviews about people having color fade. Make sure you don’t use a clarifying/detox shampoo and shampoo only a couple of times a week at most! Hair training is key (I shampoo once a week, condition daily) and don’t use harsh shampoos when you do use them! This app is so handy to manage my subscription and extra orders!!!
This app had been just fine. You could use it to schedule your service, and you could see what options were available. Now it is insisting that I schedule my next service, but I do not want to. I want to wait until I’m closer to the date, I want to wait to see how my hair is doing, before I schedule my next service. But every time I home screen comes on, it is Madison Reed asking me to schedule my next appointment. There is no easy way that I can see to turn off this notification. I already turned off notification to my phone, but Madison Reed is still asking every time my phone turns on, when will your next service be. This is awful. I’m going to have to uninstall this app.
If you have medium-dark to Dark brown hair with increasing grays, I cannot recommend any hair color more highly than this one. It is more dimensional and natural looking than ANY color I have paid $120-$150 for (for single process) in a salon. When you redo the roots, use the color reviving gloss in Cannello on the rest of your hair rather than pulling the Verona Brown all the way through to ends— it will look even MORE gorgeous.
App: I tried to order more products 4 times yesterday. The order never went through. After clicking submit, the app went to a blank screen. I tried updating my subscription but that option isn’t working either. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it. Didn’t help. Website: So I went to the website today. I just want to check my subscription and order some additional products. The trouble with the website is that I can’t see how many tubes of color I have on my subscription. I tried ordering more products on the website and that option is not working there either. Sigh. Soooo very frustrating.
App overall is 95% good but was frustrated today when trying to order Portofina color and it took me about 8 different tries to adjust the interview to order my usual color. Also when trying to add products to buy to the shopping bag it wouldn’t. That took at least 5 more attempts and could not add tame or curl hair style products. It’s a great app, but seems you need to test through all features with your updates.
Thank you for making wonderful in a bottle. I had Covid pneumonia back in December and by January my hair was coming out in clumps and didn’t stop until end of March but was still falling out. I’m grateful cause I have been using your product that never damaged my hair so I had a good head of hair at the age of 53. So my hair was very long and had beautiful color. So Thank you so much Dawn
In this day and age of automated everything, I had found Madison Reed to offer a very personalized product. However, to simply talk to a person for simple customer service is near impossible. I was on hold for 35 minutes when I finally gave up! I, hopefully, have been able to resolve my problem through the app - we shall see - but to actually have human contact ( other than a color guru) still eludes me. I feel this is gaping hole in an otherwise lovely company.
Somehow ended up on a competitors website when I did a Google search for Madison Reed. So I succumbed to the cheaper price, unfortunately. I’m back after several years of bleached white hair and a natural gray color. So happy to see that my color has been stored since using it several years ago! Thank you❣️
I like that it clearly gives you an option to add to monthly delivery or one time delivery. In the past, I ordered some hair repair and they sent it every month (with charge) when I only wanted to try it. Canceling and changing that was difficult. The one big criticism I have is getting talking to a representative for customer service is absolutely, difficult to say the least.
This is the simplest way to add some youth to your appearance. I’m a guy so I know what other men think about hair color. It’s very subtle so only you will know. It’s time to drop the attitude and go for it - you will be happy with the results plus their licensed colorists are available when you need them.
Great products. I used to use store bought hair color, my hair is now healthier. I have curly hair and lots of gray. Good coverage, just leave on longer, and memberships give you discounts for online purchases as well as salon services
This app is terrible. Items don’t update or add to my cart or reflect what is shown in the emails I get about what’s in my upcoming order. The app only shows one pro boost seal and one color tube but I get an email showing two color cafe treatments are in my cart for the next order but their website and app don’t show those items in my cart. At this point I’m going to buy color in a store. This has ruined my experience with this company and I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
The app does not allow for any changes to an existing appointment. It only let’s you cancel or reschedule an appointment. You can’t make add ons or notes for your appointment once it is made. There is no customer service for the store you visit because they don’t answer phones. Also, you can’t add a gift card to your account.
The app makes it so easy for me to manage my account. I was able to schedule a video consultation to confirm I was purchasing the correct color for what I wanted. Highly recommend.
The app is easy to use & easy to change colores. For some reason every color tends to have some red undertones that I keep trying to find one without that. I’m a pastel person & my clothes clash with red hair.
When ever I try to add a touch color or something else, the app crashes. Item never gets added to the cart. I always have to order via browser. This is happening even after your recent update.
Until I found Madison, my hair was a wreck. I took good care of it, but the cheap dye in the drug store took its toll. When I upgraded to Madison for only a few bucks more, I ended up with my own version of Salon Styled hair. So glad I switched! Whew!
There’s no other way to clear notifications in app other than to click them. Well, if clicking an old notification to have it go away, it causes a Check-in which activates a permanent message on the Island noting “Checked in!” Restarting doesn’t delete it. The only way to remove the notice is to delete the app. Pls fix.
Just bought my first box and downloaded the app to manage everything. Really cool App, super clear, maybe will try a new color next time. Definitely recommend.
Ok I’m so happy I found this AMAZING place and they are all around me!! Incredible experience!! I did not choke to death on the NASTY smell of hair dye it was GREAT covering my almost 100% gray roots to BLACK!! Thanks so much !! Best part $60 for every 2 weeks!! This place was MADE for ME!!

Love using Madison & Reed. I have been doing my own hair using M & R for years. In my opinion it’s as good or better then professional salon color. I save a ton of money doing my own hair and I get compliments all the time.
The only thing missing is human customer service readily available . That part is frustrating I have been waiting on my previous order so long I just ordered more hopefully that comes faster🧐

I love the color of my hair. This is the BEST hair dye I’ve ever used. It’s long lasting and it doesn’t smell bad and the shampoo and conditioner that comes with it is amazing and smells so good. I highly recommend Madison Reed hair products.
The website is very easy to use. Try on color with split screen. I love my hair color ! This is the first time I colored my hair, the color is perfect.
Downloaded the app and all I get is a home page with #Hairgoals that can’t fit across my phone screen in portrait mode. The text wraps on the screen. Turning the phone to landscape fixes the text wrap but still…. Can’t scroll on the screen or see anything else. Based on similar issues from other users I deleted the app.
I love the product. Luckily enough I can eyeball the products I need. Because I frequently can’t see the pics (shades, examples, etc). For awhile now, my “ideal shade” has been a spinning circle that never loads.
I have used Madison Reed several times since I developed a bad skin reaction to my salon treatment. The Madison Reed staff chose the color and did all the work for the first color treatment. I did it at the salon my 2nd treatment, then at home. The color choice is great to cover my gray. Best of all- no more scalp redness, burning, and discomfort! Canceled my order with no email and no details as to why it was cancelled. Didn’t realize it had been canceled until I checked in the app. I still can figure out why it was canceled.
I am not sure if it’s me, but just downloaded the app and all I get is the #Hairgoals. It does nothing else. I have deleted it and re- installed it. Same thing. It’s basically useless.
