Best phone game. Period.
First review I have ever written but it has to be said. This game is the epitome of a good balance of making the game have ways to earn money to pay its employees so they can keep releasing new stuff while not being predatory on the players. It’s pay to go slightly faster and it doesn’t matter because for the most part you are matched with people with similar collections. Everyone will get all the cards eventually if you keep playing and playing is insanely too fun and addicting. They mostly make money off skins and battle pass which is only 10-15 a month. The only criticism I have about the game is it is too addicting and I find myself losing an hour or two of my life when I intended to play one game. But that’s more on me I guess. I want to commend this company for making the first phone game that doesn’t feel like a quick cash grab. It’s a legitimate good game and it turns into and insanely good game if you are a marvel comics fan. Peach momoko and Alex Ross variants…. Yes please thanks! This game is awesome and I will be playing it and supporting it for years to come. I generally don’t make micro transaction purchases in any phone games, but I will to support this game and vote with my wallet because honestly you don’t need to spend money in this game which weirdly makes me wanna spend money to support it….

Needs a slight adjustment
I’ve been playing marvel snap consistently for 2 months now and it is very fun! The idea of the game is incredible and I love the creativity you can have within the game. This game has the works of one of the best mobile games of all time, except for one aspect: the luck factor. Of course there is luck in every game and for the most part it doesn’t the gameplay at all. What I dislike about the luck is with the collection. I haven’t had an issue with collecting series 3 cards since I don’t have to worry about potentially collecting another copy of the same card. But the same can’t be said about series 4 and 5 cards. When you open a spotlight cache, there is a chance to get one that isn’t in the spotlight which I like. What I dislike is how those cards have the chance to be one of the series 4 and 5 cards that you already have. And these random ones are the worst in the game. I have collected Kang 3 times out of 25+ other series 4 and 5 cards I still need to collect. The odds of this happening are so low and it makes no sense why my luck is this bad. I have also collected 2 kitty prydes and 2 hit monkeys which is super disappointing. For compensation they give you 1000 collectors tokens which don’t even mean much to me at this stage since I don’t even have all the series 3 cards so I need to get those. This is the only problem to me which might seem like me just ranting but it really discourages me from continuing to play this game.

Fast and furious fun
I’m new to this genre of game (card battle), so it took me a bit to really “get it”. For the first 10-15 matches, I felt like I was just tossing random cards with no real intention and just seeing what happened. But I slowly started learning what the different cards do, and how to use them to my advantage. I found myself strategizing and thinking 2-3 moves ahead. I had several matches that were downright exciting seeing what would happen. I did not expect to get that kind of rush from this game. But if you give yourself even a small chance to learn the cards, you’ll experience the same. Absolute best is when your opponent “snaps” you thinking they’ve got the match locked, and you turn the tables and defeat them. Only recommendation…I wish the deck of cards itself was more interactive when you’re NOT actually in a match. For the sake of nostalgia, I want to just flip through the deck, look at the cards, interact with them. I want to spin them around and look at the BACK of the card, maybe read about the character’s lore. When you’re IN a match, the cards have amazing effects, like Cyclops. But outside of a match, the cards are just static, and you can just barely tilt them from side to side. Make the deck of cards just as enjoyable to interact with outside a match as in.

We want cards not cosmetics.
I’ll start off buy saying this game is lots of fun but there’s an issue when it comes to acquiring cards especially when your collector level gets higher. I have to spend credits (that take forever to earn or can be paid for) or gold (that take forever to earn or can be paid for) to upgrade my cards and open Collector’s Reserves and they don’t even guarantee new cards you don’t own yet. If you just happen to get collector’s tokens from the Collector’s Reserves you only get 100 and the cards in the shop cost approximately 5000 of them. There is clearly a huge incentive to pay for gold and credits in order to attempt and acquire new cards but yet it’s still not guaranteed even if you spend your hard earned money. We don’t want to have to play or pay to potentially earn titles or cosmetic variants (especially for cards we don’t use) from these packs that cost tons of credits to achieve. I think it makes much more sense that you should earn cards for increasing your collection level, and then be able to get cosmetics from Collector’s Reserves after you have obtained all the cards in the game. The only guaranteed way to earn cards are the Spotlight Caches which equals 1 cache every 120 collectors levels (It costs $30-$35 just to upgrade a card from common to infinity which would get you 31 levels so you would have to pay minimum $120 just to get a guaranteed card)

This is awesome!!
Ok so I’m a big fan of this game due to the fact that there are X-Men characters because it’s Marvel but I sometimes wish for Dante and Virgil even though they are under CapCom even though there was Teppen but I didn’t like that game that much and wish that it would have traced over to this game. I was always looking for games like this but I hesitated to download at first launch since it was a card game. I wanted the moba game(w/ Marvel) a few years back but it launched in Honk Kong and didn’t launch globally so it didn’t work out for me. I think this game has great potential and honestly I watched a video on it and it makes sense how to play so far!! Really enjoyable and I like the art style…I wish you could view your games though because sometimes they get pretty intense and it would be nice to have that function naturally w/ in the game..so please add that! Also I know it’s really not that hard but it would also be nice to see the history of those games and if you could friend people that you play against like a teacher/mentor type deal once you feel you learned enough about the game but it could be optional..and doesn’t have to revolve around that prospective..otherwise great game and look forward to playing more matches..ty to team defs for making this game!!

Fun game with a few issues
Like so many others I really like this game but there are a few issues that I hope get worked out. I don’t mind grinding I don’t mind spending a few dollars here and there. They have limited the ability to earn cards so severely that after completions of pool two there is no point to grinding because there is very little reward making the search for the ideal cards painful and slow even if you are willing to spend a few dollars. Also on the pc you can’t scroll to pick decks above the fourth or fifth deck. Also on a few occasions there have been glitches on turn six causing unexplained losses contrary to the game mechanics iut of hundreds of games it has only happened 2 or 3 times but a bug that needs to be addressed. Also I am with a few other players Ego is a poor game choice in that you loose control of your ability to play your own hand and the ai takes over and plays for you and when and can cost you ladder points. RNG is part of these games and can be frustrating when you loose based not on your skill but luck I get that it’s a necessary evil but none the less frustrating when you loose because of a RNG dropping cards into your deck often lopsided in play.

The game is fun
BUT match making is absolutely horrendous. I’m going against people who have WAY more cards available to them than I do. They are clearly 10 plus levels above me. There is no competing with them. It doesn’t matter if I get literally every card in order from lowest to highest or where they’re placed. I can’t beat cards that can merge with one another or place several cards across the board. I don’t have them. At best I can try to destroy the 1 cost cards IF I can get the one card I have that does that. I have a few issues with the descriptions of some of the tiles. For example let’s say it says “if a card is played here it will be exchanged for one in your deck.” Before or after its flipped and before or after the ability/power? It’s after the flip before the ability btw, but there is literally no way to know that unless you had that tile before. You also get “you cannot play cards on turns 3 through 5 and 4 through 6” with way to often and way to often at the same time. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSE TO DO FOR THAT TIME? I literally had a game where after turn 3 me and the other guy just got to stare at each other till turn 5. That shouldn’t be something that can happen. I’ve only played for about an hour and already hit a paywall, but since it seems like it’s mostly just cosmetic I don’t see an issue with it. I do have issue with upgrading cards being the main way to unlock card. You run outta in game money good luck to you on unlocking anything for a bit.

So much going or it but then fails on the seasons and upgrades
I bought a season of Black Panther on day 1 and played a lot to get as much out of it as possible. In the end I felt all the other seasonal games give you a ton more for the money. I got a new card back, and a few cards, not worth it especially considering I bought the boost and played a lot hoping to unlock a lot. I would say this is like buying a season pass to Diablo Immortal which I also felt was a huge letdown. The two season passes I recommend is Hearthstone Battlegrounds and Clash of Clans. You get so much value for the money with these two games. For now I will play Marvel Snap and not spend any money on it which is sad because the game is good and the developers deserve money but the season passes are greedy for the little you get for it. The other gripe is upgrading cards, I would like to turn this option off completely as all the animations that come up when you upgrade, or to let you know you upgraded, and for what, the card isn’t anymore powerful, you just get a nicer looking card but the time it takes to go through and upgrade cards with the only benefit of it being that the card looks nice, I would rather have the time back. Life is short don’t make us waste time on upgrades and streamline the game so you auto update our cards, and let us play the game.

Game is ok, but has major game balance issues
The “Snap” mechanic to bluff your opponent into gambling away more of their points is inherently a bad idea when paired with a retreat mechanism, as this incentivizes players to not play out the game but rather quit early to decrease their losses because this game’s only game mode is ranked. This makes the ranked gameplay a slow grind of winning and losing 1 to 2 points and not being able to play games to fruition because it’s just a bad idea most of the time for you or your opponent to not retreat when the odds aren’t in your favor. On top of this, the entire game is random; you cannot obtain cards that would help you create the deck you want unless you pull them completely at random after several hours of grinding, you cannot determine if your deck will be hard countered by the random location effects that appear, and you can’t even determine if your card will be revealed before your opponents’ cards (I.e. spider woman’s effect activates on revealing a card and decreasing your opponent’s cards at that location by 1, but if your opponent played a card but won the coin toss of being revealed after your cards, the freshly played cards will not be affected by this debuff whereas if the coin flip were the other way around and the opponent’s cards were revealed first, those same cards would be affected by spider woman’s effects). The game has room for A LOT of improvement but is fun overall.

Great Game! Please add/Fix!
So I pretty much grind this game until my phone is nearly dead every few hours. I love it but it does have quirks, minor bugs at times, and ridiculously overpowered cards for crazy builds. Okay so the only card I’m encountering and getting frustrated with is killmonger. I love my 1-drop deck because it builds up. Takes time but sometimes it’s worth it. Unfortunately when I get excited about maybe winning with my 1- drops boom killmonger destroys everything. It’s too much the fact that he can destroy every single one drop from any location. If you guys could maybe look at reworking him a little to where he only destroys one drops in a single location that would be more balanced in my opinion. The thing I hate the most about this game is the players purposefully running out the play timer to try and get you to retreat. It’s almost constant it seems or they just don’t care. Shorter timer maybe. It does not take that long to make a play. We ain’t playing chess lol. I would love to see a 2v2 mode or a type of champion league for players who are more serious and aren’t going to waste your time, literally. Overall though this is a great game and I tell everyone about it! Keep up the great work!

Overall fantastic game
I don’t leave reviews ever, but this game deserves one. Mobile games have this terrible habit of being micro-transaction money pits that con people into giving them a ton of money in return for the ability to play the game better than others (pay to win). Marvel snap is the most free to play mobile game I’ve seen since the old days of temple run and similar games. The game rewards you for simply playing it. Win, lose, tie no matter what you get material for card upgrades (which are purely cosmetic) and that mechanic also allows you to get more new cards. I made it to the 3rd pool of cards in a month of playing only a couple games a day at minimum. On top of that its easy to get into, has cool card synergies that are easy to figure out and introduces people to lesser known heroes in the universe. And I'm not even done. In the newest update you can now buy specific cards in the shop with in game currency. There are almost no flaws to this game. It can be buggy, but it is early access so it’s to be expected. I personally haven't run into many problems at all. If you like deckbuilders and are on the fence i would HIGHLY recommend trying it out.

Fun game but some cards make it not fun
EDIT: Thanks for the OTA. Just the part about HE applies now. :) If I am correct, the devs separated the cards into series1-5 to keep differently experienced players separate. So why oh why is every other game I play dominated by Blob, Thanos, and High Evolutionary when I am only on series three? These are all series 5 cards that at one point or another are available through spotlight caches. This means that anyone that’s lucky enough to get them (not me) can easily reach infinite. There are no counters via Shang-Chi anymore due to Caiera. The same three cards have been at the top for MONTHS now, and the way I see it, there are only a few solutions. Nerf the cards. The problem with this is that it would take a whole redesign to fix these cards, because the way they change your deck is what makes them broken. Introduce counters for the broken cards. An ability that makes you gain significant power when your opponent ends a turn with unspent energy (for HE) would be great. Or a card that gave -5 power to 1-costs (Thanos). Or you could make shadow king an ongoing: “Cards’ here’s Power is their base Power and can’t be changed.” (Blob) Delete the cards from the game. (If all else fails.) If you don’t do this the game will continue to be not fun to play.

The mechanics are spot on BUT
All those cool sounding cards you see being released? Forget about them. You aren't playing with any of them anytime soon unless you both spend hours a day playing and serious $$$. Whales only. I'm not free to play, I'm happy to spend money on the games I enjoy but the current leveling/card acquisition system is very broken. I'm at collection level +/- 3200 and I don't even have all the pool 3 cards. Not really even close. I have a couple pool 4 and a couple pool 5 that weren't bought in a season pass. I don't know what a solution would look like but having some hope or reasonable way I could get a new card here or there would go a long way to keeping me and a lot of other players involved in the game. The game is still hot right now but vibe I get is that the clock is ticking on the developers to figure something out. Here's to hoping they make something happen because I love the game and would hate to see player involvement take a nose dive. Business people and developers I believe in you... Put those noggins to use and help us out here. If the whales you're profiting from have no one to play with they're going to stop playing, we've seen it happen in a long list of other games. This game is too good to suffer that fate!

100% pay to win
Marvel Snap is a well designed card battler with loads of fan grabbing content and an excellent polish. They boast that you won’t have to pay to win and that all can come and earn what you’ll need to compete. That’s where it falls flat. If you aren’t paying, you aren’t upgrading fast enough, you aren’t getting the new cards and you aren’t progressing. Period. What’s worse is that the in app purchases are so weirdly restrictive that unless you’re ready to drop real money and on the regular, you can’t even get enough to justify the occasional buy in. And oh boy, You’ll see the people buying in. With the avatars and new power cards right out the gate. And while many of them will level out of your group level, there will always be more. And that’s what kills the game for me. The non-pay rewards are so slight as to be ridiculous (ooh boy 50 credits!!!) and you earn maybe one or two card every couple of weeks. Maybe, just maybe, one of them will be a good card. Maybe. You think that’s going to change when you progress to the next level of rewards (caches become reserves) but it’s the exact same rewards. Just a new name. So, yes. While you can’t come in and spend 100$ and get what you need to win, you better be prepared to spend 20-50 bucks a month if you want to keep winning. Fun while it lasted, tho

NICE!
I guess I’m the first to play the game? Or maybe I’m over exaggerating and I’m just the first to review?? No clue but so far I got through the tutorial witch was very simple and made easy to pick up on the game and how it works, soon after I learned how to easily upgrade my hero’s to totally dominate in gameplay! Don’t need strategy when you have HULK! We’ll you might, this is probably one of the most unique strategy games I’ve played so far, I love how when you upgrade a hero the hero’s card also changes its look into a cool 3D card that you can move to experience the 3D feature of the uprgraded hero’s card moving or swaying your phone. Wait did I even mention upgrading a hero gets you a new hero!? Like come on this game is awesome, I just started my journey to be one of the strongest players, I don’t know if your reading this. BUT IF YOU LOVE STRATEGY GAMES, MARVEL HEROS, AND A GOOD MATCH, download this game, try it yourself. Also don’t know if you can add people or have friends yet but if anything my connect/username is AstroWrld, also (Developers) if you ever want to give me some kind of special gift or hero :), or maybe even be down to a battle AstroWrld is the name. Thanksss for reading

Somewhat Fun Money Grab
The game itself is fun but the devs behind it are actively trying to get you to spend more and more money. You only face real people around 50% of the time and the bots are completely broken. They know what you are about to do and play the perfect counter cards that destroy your game. These bots will also play cards you don’t have in perfect ways to get you to want them bad enough to spend money. When you face real people they are only going to use meta decks so if you make a random deck to have fun be prepared to lose consistently. There are a ton of whales in this game that spend thousands of dollars to buy all cards and variants which the devs are catering to. Variant packs will cost anywhere from $5-$100 which can give you a card if you don’t have it. If you aren’t prepared to spend money it’s going to take you awhile to get a decent deck and along the way you’ll lose consistently to broken cards you don’t have. There are somewhere around 10 broken cards at any given time, which the devs take around 1-2 weeks to nerf them then buff other cards which breaks them. There aren’t any casual game modes its only ranked or a 1v1 battle which goes multiple rounds so there’s no incentive for people to not sweat or not use meta deck’s because everyone is trying to rank up and gather the rewards.

Legitimately Surprised
I finally gave in after seeing the ads. I was never much into card based games but this one is the real deal. The matches are no more than 7 minutes, all cards are unlocked just by playing the game. The cards are well balanced and it takes a lot of skill to have the right set of cards every time. But the locations make each game different. The locations you put the cards at could easily cause you to lose if you’re not making tactical decisions. Only micro transactions are for gold to get credits. Credits upgrades your cards which makes your “Card Collection” level go up. Higher the Card Collection level the more rewards you can get. As well as the battle pass there are free rewards as well, gold, credits, and even boosters to level up your cards. No ads, no pay to win, no long games. I find myself playing this game for hours a day. Just the first 24 hours I had it I had gotten 20 cards just by playing the game. I haven’t pay any money but I am highly considering it to support the dev team for this game. Highly recommend and paying is not at all necessary to progress in the game.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND DEFINITELY DO NOT SPEND MONEY
The amount of cheating, biased game play, and bullying from other players who spend money + cheat as well as bullying from the developers who hate constructive feedback is off the charts. This game is plagued with issues so skip and got to any of the other marvel games. In order to get to higher tiers they expect you to spend 100s of dollars. If you don’t you will reach a cap level in which you will face players who always get the one card combination in order to win while you do not. I know this cause I have tested it out consistently. My level is 73. Once I get there they will refuse to let me get higher level unless I spend money. Eff them. Do not download. Update: Support is a joke. As mentioned above they will bully players. They assume you’re an idiot when you point out the faults and reply with a generic response on how to set up decks, which doesn’t help when you reach a certain point they force you to spend money to grow your decks. They also state they will take a look at the match, which is them going off a photo, and come back with the dumbest response you could imagine. Then the developers will change a cards ability to screw players over who try to work for that card. This is just a horrid game plagued with issues that the developers and support couldn’t care less about. Thank god it’s luster wore off fast.

Failed expectations
Really sad review to make. The game promises to have “taken what is not fun out of the card game trope design” and it really seems to do that at first with some really innovative things. Sadly, come midgame that is a lie. It is the same old grindfest, the same old ‘forced to play decks you don’t want to’ to progress. Along with the toxic fomo, pay to progress, and expensive bundles you would have come to expect from mobile games. At the end of the day the worst part of this is the missions. Most of the above you can choose to ignore. But missions are basically the ONLY way for a casual player to progress in both collection, as well as the PAID season pass. The way the missions are designed, you have to play for quite a while EVERYDAY with decks you don’t want to play to progress AT ALL. It is completely toxic! I can understand the slow endgame grind, and I honestly like that it is hard to have a complete collection. They seem to release cards weekly to keep things spicy! And yet, what is the point! A casual player cannot play the decks they want if they want to progress at all, will never progress as the speed cards are released, and even the paid subscription that is most affordable requires HOURS of play DAILY to make any fair use of. So so so sad for a game that has seemed at first so promising.

Pretty good game, but I was really disappointed
The game is quite fun and enjoyable, every character and location are unique and the method for unlocking cards is super fun and never gets to a tedious grind. The gameplay itself is both super simple to understand and strategy filled! I don’t mind too much that most character variants will cost money if you want, but my biggest gripe is that some of the characters (Like the new miles morales) cost money, via the season pass. Correct me if I’m wrong but he is not able to be obtained by free-to-play players, which really bugs me, especially when the add that made me get this game said “the only thing that costs money are aesthetics.” Also when you run out of daily challenges you don’t have much of a way to get XP, which in turn doesn’t give you an easy way to get card upgrades, which doesn’t allow much progression. That’s more minor, but this would be a nearly perfect game if you could just get all this game had to offer for free. Again aesthetics are fine to cost money, but taking away things like characters for some cash really turns me away, chances are I still will enjoy this game, but things like that have really turned me away from other games, please don’t let the same thing happen to marvel snap.

I used to like this game
I played this game pretty religiously when it first came out. It was fun the a quick fun way to have my favorite Marvel characters battle one another. New cards were coming a furious pace. It was exciting to see how my new cards would fit into strategic play. The monthly themes were fun even if I didn’t pay the extra 10 bucks that month. Leveled up into the 3-4 thousand then I moved on to another game no main reason just moved on. By shear luck I decided to start playing again at thr start time of the current monthly season. I even bought into it since I had all month to move up. Unfortunately it became very clear because I had not played in a long time I missed out on some very awesome cards which left me at disadvantage. I figured I would push thought it level up and gain cards to update my deck. Boy was I wrong. I have acquired only 3 cards in the three weeks I have been playing daily. As I level up all I receive are titles, avatars and variants. It appears to me the only way to get new cards is to lay down some serious coin and I just can’t justify it. How very disappointing this game has become a money grab. If you are a new player have fun I recommend it. However be warned you will reach a point where they just want your money to keep enjoying the game.

Used to be great
I started playing the game around November of 2022 and the game was super addicting and I just kept wanting to play it. I started to buy the battle passes because I wanted to support the devs because I thought they really cared about the player base they have and truly wanted us to have fun. Fast forward to now, the devs have made horrible hame changes such as predatory advances to high price bundles and increasing the price of the low price bundles such as token tuesday. The game used to be easy to progress rewarding you the different currencies through the caches and giving you cards but now they have decreased the amount of currency you can get like making 100 token gain go to 50 and you can no longer gain series 4/5 cards from the caches. Decreasing the gain of tokens seems like they just want us to spend more money on the game for the high priced bundles to get series 4/5 cards which doesnt feel rewarding or satisfying anymore. I used to put tons of hours into the game but these changes makes all the effort I’m putting in feel like a waste of time and I can’t even imagine what it’s like for casual players. The only decent thing they have been doing is balance changes as it always shifts the meta and flow of the game which kept it fun. To put it simple, it feels like the devs are making money hungry changes and just isn’t fun grinding anymore.

Economy has devolved immensely
Basically what the title says. I NEVER leave reviews ever on games, but being that i’ve spent countless hours playing this game since December, i think i’ve invested enough to have a say in this. The new spotlight cache system is AWFUL for the longevity of this game. Not only is the credit amount required for obtaining just ONE spotlight cache absurd (around 6k), the fact that you even have the chance of getting a duplicate of a card you already had that converts into a variant of ANY card in your collection (meaning i have a chance of getting say… a hawkeye variant in place of an actual useable card) is absolutely horrendous and very gacha-esque. So then lets say i do get the card i wanted , which by the way, if i wanted to guarantee getting that card i would have needed to hoard 4 caches minimum, which the devs have now basically advocated for. Now that i’ve finally got the card i want, i have to wait potentially months for the next card i want and the cycle just continues. Regular caches give less (no gold and wayyy less tokens), in order for us to spend money on their terribly integrated system. This game has such a good foundation, and great legs to move forward on, but jesus christ the developers love to do everything in their power to stop the growth of this game. Pains me to say it, but pass on this game until this system is fixed.

Fun Game and Worth Playing. But….
When I first saw the trailer for this, I thought it looked fun and when I played it. I was surprised by how much I play this, the gameplay is the highlight of its entirety. It’s fast pace, it’s makes you strategize, and there are plenty of combinations with certain cards that can secure a win for you(if you know what you’re doing and play it right). But at the same time, it’s not perfect. It has flaws, the biggest being that there are times when I can clearly tell that I was against a bot. I’m sure there are real time players here, but imo, I was convinced that I was against bots more than anything. The second is the season pass, the pass it self isn’t worth it, and it cost 10$. When I saw this and the micro transactions in the store that have the variety cards this was a immediate red flag to me. Heck, variety cards are hard to come by and are only found in the season pass(I haven’t seen the pull pass in a while, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in the premium pass for 10$). Overall: this is a fun game and the gameplay clearly shows, all it needs is more ways to get variety cards and have more of the rewards in the season pass for free. When that’s their, then this would be 4 to 5 stars definitely.

Will be great for most people.
As the title says, most people who aren't even into strategy, or card games at all or very little will have a great time with this. It's straight forward, and easy to grasp and pick up. There is a learning curve, but this where the game lost me. Compared to games like Magic the gathering, hearthstone, even Gwent, it lacks the complexity needed for it keep the attention and attraction of long time strategy card game enjoyers. Don't mistake simple, for bad because it's not. I do not want to bash on this game since it doesn't have any pay to win, or any energy caps like you do in other games. The games are short but not too short and are great for a mobile game setting. This game is meant to pick up as any people as possible and won't satisfy the long time card game nerds like me, but I can definitely see the quality and effort put into this game. I had a pretty great time with it, until it eventually got repetitive, even when I was making new decks every game. There are 150 cards which is a lot, but if you play it enough you'll start to only see certain meta decks. Great game, would give it a shot regardless but didn't hit it all the way to home for me.

I don’t feel like you EVER play an actual person…
Or every single person I’ve ever played is a tactical strategic genius that can see the future. I make mistakes ALL THE TIME. I have NEVER seen my opponent make a mistake. I have never said, “dang, you shouldn’t have played that there”, or “wow, that was a bad move.” Why? Because it’s literally never happened. Every move against me seems to be the greatest perceptive event in game history. For instance, playing a guardians of the galaxy card and your opponent always seems to know not to play a card at that location. Or they have the perfect “answer-card” for whatever I just did to the point of seeming impossible. “How’d you know i’d play that there?” You didn’t because you’re a robot. “That card doesn’t seem to go with any of the other cards in your deck.” Don’t worry about it dummy. I can play any card at any time. I get beat badly a lot. I very rarely win decisively or on a last card (which happens to me constantly). But as much as I hate how this game works, I can’t stop playing. For the devs, would it hurt to be able to buy new cards with gold? I get you’re trying to make money but amassing a lot of gold takes a lot of time. Throw us a bone once in a while.

Amazing game but seemingly unplayably broken
I love this game a lot this would have been a 5 star review had it not been for what has happened to my account recently. Ever since I hit collection level 100 the game is just unplayably broken every time I upgrade cards and try to claim the next collection level reward it says that something went wrong and won’t give me the reward. The game won’t let change any of my decks either if I take a card out and put a different one in and try to battle with it the game will say that the deck is invalid and then just reset the deck back to what I had before this bug happened. I bought the season pass because I was really excited to try out some new strategies with those cards and now I can’t even play them. If I close the app everything I’ve done since this bug started is completely undone any card I upgraded is back to the way it was and whatever collection level I was at is right back to 100 I’ve reported this bug in the in game support but so far nothing I’m not sure what to do if this problem persists I might have to give up on the game all together becuase I can’t do anything and it’s so frustrating

Terrible support team
After trying to contact them for three days to resolve an issue with their game bugging out and not allowing me to participate in the PC launch event, support completely stopped trying to resolve the issue and has left me ignored and on the same support conversation for three days. Not allowing me to try opening a new support ticket, talk to a new person to get help, nothing. They are aware of the problem, and then immediately started ignoring me. I made the report at the start of this week, and haven’t been able to receive a single login reward because the game is completely glitched out. And do they care? Nope. They let the game stay broken, all they care about is charging you for variants and making you pay for everything, as soon as the issues come up they’ll ignore you and not care about what’s wrong with your account, no matter how long you’ve played. 0/10 support team, someone definitely needs to lose their job, because I shouldn’t be getting ignored and not get the same rewards every other player is.

Decently fun mobile game but pure RNG
What I like about this game is that it’s short and compact matches are the right length for a mobile game. The problem with this game though is the absolute insane level of luck and RNG built into this game which I believe is why the “Snap” system was implemented. It’s just Rock Paper Scissors on steroids. Any perceived skill doesn’t exist once you get to higher levels. The first 5 of the 6 turns turns don’t really matter, it always comes down to a final turn coin toss where either of us could win, it just depend on where we put things down in relation to each other, it’s like a game of Rock Paper Scissors. The locations, while adding an interesting element, are also totally luck based. Sometimes they help, other times they completely negate your decks strategy. The snap mechanic in my view is like black jack. You can never actually make the games odds favor you, but by ratcheting the betting as the cards do you see update the odds, over the long term you’ll end up making a profit. Same thing here. Do not expect to win much more than 50% of your matches, it just comes down to how lucky you get with your snaps. So in other words, it’s more liken to a game of chance like poker or blackjack where the skill lies in playing odds, versus any actual skill/strategy.

Good but not great
First off I do like this game and how it over plays. The game is definitely not pay to WIN which is awesome, but here is my major gripe with the game. It’s the RNG system. I’m currently sitting at lvl 1061, I downloaded the game 1 week after release. I play very consistently and yes I have spent money that has no provided 1 ounce of Pay to Win for me. Six at lvl 1061 opening gold caches you would think that I’d have most or close to most of the META card in the game, here is my issue with that. The developer will say : well it’s all based off RNG how items are unlocked. Yet the higher you get on levels the more difficult it becomes to unlocking the next cache. Meanwhile if your RNG is just plain horrible your stuck playing others wgo have much better cards and getting wiped. I just wish there was a way to earn certain cards other then just blind RNG hope. There is nothing worse then working hard to open a golden cache to get 50 credits to power up a card or getting Yellow Jacket on your very first golden cache. I’m mean really….?!? Yellow Jacket? Ughhhh. Anyways over the game is fun but needs to have something different in the way it rewards those who play. How are we to experience the full value of the game when you have very little access to ALL the cards.

Snap Could Be Better
This game is definitely one of the best games to hit the mobile scene. Its a high paced card game that utilizes heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe. Unfortunately I cannot go without mentioning the progression system. This has been a struggle for Second Dinner (developers) to overcome since the game’s launch. To see that it has become nearly impossible to unlock new cards at an acceptable rate, especially when you reach a high level. Playing against other players that have cards I do not feels like such a pay to play mechanic. I suffer solely from being a player that would rather not spend any money which is a HUGE negative. No game should ever make you feel like you need to dish out money in order to be successful. There are certain cards in the game that do make a noticeable impact on gameplay and the way you progress. Personally, I feel like everything is overly priced. At most, everything should be half price of what they are currently selling things for. All in all, this game can be a great time. But man, once you hit a losing streak of games that are out of your control, it can be very frustrating.

Extremely Fun!!!
This game is the card game “War” but with a twist, you don’t truly know you're going to win until the end. This game is absolutely free to play, with zero advantage if you decide to buy cards, because all cards of a certain characters will have the same effect and you're just paying for a variant artwork. This game is easy to pick up and hard to drop. I highly recommend it. Just a thought. I wish they decide to make an actual physical trading card game of this game. It's so simple too. You open up a pack and get a chance to get a card with a shiny name, border, or even an animated card. The best part about this game is similar to the app, there are no advantages or disadvantages. If you don't have a chase card (animated version) you can still play the game with the non-holo-foil card. And I grew up in the 90s so the nostalgia of collecting comic book cards will exist. Imagine having a physical card of many versions of the Comic Book Captain America, and a trading card of MCU Captain America. You can have a deck with all MCU images, lol. Someone, please convince Marvel to let it happen.

The best card game I’ve ever played!
This game…… Where do I begin to explain how good it is? I guess the biggest thing that needs to be pointed out is that IT’S NOT PAY TO WIN! You don’t buy card packs to get cards or drop money to get certain cards. All of the cards you get you earn as you play, which is fantastic! The only thing you can pay for is currency to unlock variants of the cards, which do nothing but make the cards look different. They don’t make them stronger or play differently. They just look cool, and I am so down for this. Their version of a battle pass is pretty cheap too. It’s only $10 which is the price of an average battle pass for console games. Many mobile games ask you to drop $20-$30 for their battle passes which feels absurd when you can get a game for the same amount of money. The matches are also short, which makes a lot of incentive to try to fit in matches here and there. As long as they don’t add in any predatory practices, this is going to remain one of my most played mobile games. Now if they could just make this an actual card game……..

Wow
I’ve been raised by house phones, and i’ve seen the decade long growth of freemium style market strategies, this game, and the team behind it has not only taken extreme measures that allows for purchases for those who love the game and for the productions profit angle, but also not make total free players feel at a disadvantage, which promotes more honest and true to heart investments for said profits. Beyond the perfect balance of the eternal problem of pay to win with these type of business models, this game from a players prospective not a consumer, the matches are FAST like so fast you have time to do 2-3 while waiting in line, the matches feel GOOD you don’t feel cheated, you know when you messed up or made the wrong guess, it doesn’t feel BAD when you lose, or have to retreat, you learn from it naturally, yet it still feels rewarding when you outwit and outplay the other player. Something about the simpleness and short time invested really brings out the best of both worlds of losing and winning! Bravo guys truly this is coming from someone who hates freemium models with a passion! ❤️

Great strategy game, minimal micro transactions👍
Marvel snap is a super fun strategy game. It does numerous great things to make the game go from a good, to a GREAT experience. To progress in the game and unlock new cards you need to upgrade existing ones. You get items to upgrade cards by playing THROUGH matches, not by winning losing, or quitting early. The system to get cards is somewhat nonlinear. At a certain point early in the game when you unlock a new card it is random what card it is. Meaning that there is never going to be a best strategy that everyone uses to progress in the game. Earlier I mentioned that it incentivizes playing through matches. But it does also incentivize winning. When you win a game you get cubes that increase your rank in a league. But you can double the amount of cubes you win/lose by tapping a cube in the top of your screen; which is called “Snapping”. The game is overall super fun and has loads of unique, equally fun and viable strategies. Also the micro transactions give practically zero real gameplay advantage; as upgrading a card just improves the visuals, and variants only help you unlock a new card or two. 9.8/10 Amazing.

Great Game, Needs Balance
Fun to play, but it always feels like you go up against the same few decks as everyone tries out the new meta. There’s so many ultra strong cards with not enough counters. Shang Chi is about the only counter to most of those high power cards, especially necessary when cards like Knull can get up to the 40s with the right conditions. Another example in the current event is Loki. He adds the opponents opening hand to yours with the added bonus of them costing less to play. Combine that with the Collector (who gains power when the cards are added to your hand) and the Quinjet (which reduces the play cost further) and it becomes nigh unbeatable. On top of this, Loki comes with the battle pass so the only way to get him is to get lucky on a new card or pay. Making it feel pay to win considering how many people already did just that. There’s always gonna be meta builds, I get that. But there should be some balance. I don’t want to start a game or conquest and be like “Oh, they’ve got this card and since I didn’t bring Shang Chi, I can’t win.” Overall, I just want more variety. That’s the biggest draw to me, all these different Marvel heroes in this game.

Needs Nerfs but still overall amazing!
Amazing game! But some cards need massive nerfs. You see the same cards in every deck that ruins people trying to play cards of characters they like. Devil dinosaur massively over powered can gain 10 power easily like it was nothing. Blue marvel low cost character that requires no intelligence to use and gives every card on players side +1 power. And the one I find the most ridiculous Klaw has 4 power and gives 6 to the location to the right of it! Are you serious?? A card that gives 10 power in total and it costs less than the highest rated cards to play it. On the bright side you can occasionally find a player that isn’t trying to sweat and just using the broken cards and on a brighter side it’s only a few that are “broken” and the ones that can actually be a game changer are more skill based than just playing it and winning. Side note the graphics, artwork and sounds are on a different level anyone saying that the animations aren’t good just haven't upgraded their cards enough to have a credible opinion.

I Dislike This 3000. This is a 2v1 game.
I made it to rank 71 and am over it. If you like barebones deck building simulators that lock away cards you need to be competitive in blind bags, and being crushed by unforgiving RNG gimmicks then this is the perfect app for you. This game forces everyone to play the same decks over and over and over and over because no one has the cards they need to change up their “strategies”. So you see the same cards and curves every monotonous match…which you’d think would give you an upper hand to beat the opponent’s deck except the board is also playing against you and there are so few ways to adapt when the location completely ruins any strategy you were attempting to set up. You only have 12 cards, so if a location shuffles 10 random cards into your hand what’s the point of even making a deck? Or when the TVA location pops up on location 3 and ends the game at round 4. Super fun guys. You’ll have soo much fun losing 90% of your matches by 1 single point in a lane. Oh and you can’t play your friends….just bots and random online players who snap at the start of every match or just run away. And the card effects that you earn by upgrading cards are broken. They just turn the card black or the effect doesn’t play at all. They really took their time with this one.

“Magnificent!” ~ Taneleer Tivan, The Collector
I’m gonna go out on a limb by saying I don’t play card games. It’s not my thing, but (with my passion for all things Marvel) I had to try Marvel Snap! I highly recommend it whether you’re new to playing or not. You’ll feel like The Watcher as you are granted an array of Marvel characters and their attributes. While most games are geared towards the typical “cash grab” and although Snap does have bundles and such, it isn’t etched into your brain at every turn. You’ll still have the pleasure of playing even if you’re not the pay-to-play type. Now, I’m not touting the joy of the game, but if you’re as much a “noob” as I am you might find your passion slightly tested as the game’s balance can seem a wee-bit tilted. Your emotions will titter between bliss and “Hello darkness, my old friend” at times. If you’re familiar with card gaming you’re likely to easily adapt quickly and reach “Infinite” in no time, or you can read this and gloat that you’re just that good. In any case, whether you’re a seasoned gamer, a gifted mutant, or always wondered what your Panini® collection would be like if it were virtual, then Marvel Snap is the new iteration of Chess for the modern age…and it’s free!

Poor Customer Support
This is the first time I’ve felt the need to review anything, which should show how awful the support for this game is. The game itself is fun, but if you have any problems, good luck. I’ve been dealing with support for over a week now with no results. I paid for the premium season pass for last month, but never received my items for it. I didn’t get any help after using both the in-app support and email until after the season was over, thus leaving me $10 down with no items to show for it. I was told by two people that I could receive compensation by getting this month’s season pass for free. I said that would be great and then they ghosted me for days. When I reached out again to ask how long it would take to receive my items, I was told they don’t give out refunds at the moment (which was never even talked about prior because they had mentioned in-game compensation). I’ve talked to a different person every time, and they keep closing the conversation, making me start a new one every time. I’ve never had to deal with such awful customer support, and it’s not only ruining the game for me, but it’s also ruining the Marvel brand. Hopefully someone will step up and create a better support team, instead of obviously outsourcing to a different company.

The only game you need
Listen guys, I’m not a Marvel fan nor a card game fan yet the thrill I feel snapping and playing cards in this easy to learn hard to master game is unmatched ! Totally Free To Play games with zero Ads and a good rewarding system that gives you all the necessary materials to buy anything from the shop, besides that the prices for some other cosmetics is definitely predatory and super expensive compared to putting that amount for other AAA games, the cards can all be owned for free as well. Trust me download it and give it a try! And thank me later (a prayer for my mom that passed away to be in heaven is the best thanks I can get inshallah) Suggestion for the devs, add special VFX and SFX to Ultimate variants ( a la League of Legends and their skin system ) that will encourage me to buy Ultimate variants as just having a different art is not a reasonable enough incentive. Imagine the Ultimate Hulk variant had butterflies flying when he smashes the lane with a baby voice ! That will make you money guys for sure and you deserve all the support needed to make this game last for a decade. Amazing job!

This might be the new standard for card games
Don’t let the simplicity of the previews or early stages of gameplay fool you, these developers got the magic formula. This game features fast-paced strategic scenarios that deliver impactful effects. Sometimes it does feel like matches could be one or two extra turns or have an extra “battle” phase, but they still feel extremely fulfilling. There’s also the convenience of portrait mode. I know it might sound tedious, but sometimes it’s a pain to hold my device in landscape for games. I might not be in the right setting or have the time to commit to a landscape sized play field. It’s the perfect game to run on repeat for a quick couple of minutes or upwards of hours, if you can spare it. It would also appear that MOST cards are unlocked via gameplay and progression. Some come in battle passes and purchased packs, but you can make several competitive and various decks with the cards given. This is really an excellent title, I’m excited to see how the developers continue to enhance the core gameplay.

Does not respect your money or time for the little it gives back.
This game is supremely addictive and only mildly entertaining. Most of the time I end up more frustrated than satisfied when I finish a session. That’s not a good sign for a game loop regardless of skill. The progression system is awful. Once you get to intermediate levels it slows down to a crawl which impedes gameplay. It takes hours and hours of grinding to progress at any significant pace and that’s contrary to the short gameplay loop. They use a lot of FOMO tactics to keep you engaged daily like a season pass that expires, daily, weekly, bonus missions that also expire. The game monetizes by selling you progress currency and cosmetics. The cosmetics are literally the coolest part of the game (it’s a card game you want cool cards) but they are insanely pricey, with most variants of the cards 12+ dlls each! If you were to spend 100dlls (!!) on one of their big bundles, you’d barely notice the progress. It’s actually insane how little you get. Don’t waste your time with this greedy trap. Pros: Cool Marvel cards with cool effects, quick game loop. Cons: Requires you to grind everyday forever to keep up. FOMO abuse. Wants exorbitant amounts of money to progress or get the best variants and gives too little back. Games are often frustrating and repetitive.

RNG nightmare
I really want to like this game because it’s Marvel, but it’s just so poorly designed that I find myself cursing at it more than I am having fun with it. The biggest problem is with the locations. The locations are random and tend to punish you more than adding anything fun or positive to the game. No cards can be played here, cards here have negative power, each card played here shuffles five rocks into your deck, and etc…wow, what fun! Add the randomness of drawing cards in general to those horrible locations and you just have a RNG nightmare. The progression system is poorly designed. The cards you unlock from each tier are completely random. Who wants to keep getting smashed by the card someone was lucky enough to unlock just to get a random chance at getting the same one every so often? There are a few OP cards that will win the game almost every time no matter how you play. It’s designed to keep you playing and spending non stop. This game should still be in beta. It’s plagued with balancing issues, has no character bios, and no landscape mode. Strategy and skill unfortunately only play a minimal role in this game…you might as well be at a casino. Playing this game feels like you are trying to roll dice at a craps table while the person next to you throws a drink in your face.

Why complain if you don’t understand?
I see a ton of bad reviews recently. I’ve played the game since release while taking a break for a month or two for unrelated reasons. Those that complain about collecting cards just haven’t played enough. Those that complain about Pay to win are CRAZY. I have paid $0 to play this game and I’m only missing like 3 cards. I have some decks I’ve seen others build and have lost to and I have decks I’ve built myself from the ground up. Don’t complain about pay to win if you don’t understand how to get win conditions with all cards. I can let the ai make a deck and still beat most people. Don’t hate on a game you don’t understand. Ps arishem isn’t that good, I beat it pretty consistently with my nimrod deck!! Don’t listen to bad reviews of people that can’t wrap their head around the game, this game is awesome and definitely a must have if you like competitive card games that are PLAY to win. The more you play the better you get, it has a learning curve, but it’s clearly too steep for some people.

My marvel snap review
Marvel snap as the the title implies has quick snappy and very refreshing card gameplay its very tap in and tap out because games come and go and on top of amazing card art the only gripe i would have is a grip i have with most mobile games the micro transactions now it’s not the worst micro transactions system Ive seen in the world but it will take a little bit of grinding before you get the more rate cards but the game is perfectly playable before that point with the lower rarity cards you may be a little bit more restrictive in the decks you can make at 1st but the game is still fun even with a handful of cards and only gets even more fun the more cards they add which they add a lot of cards a handful each season so maybe you won’t get play the exact character you want due to how rare the card is the alternative cards or just as fun so i would recommend to people as long as you don’t mind ignoring the stereotypical mobile games trappings pf micro transactions which I’ve been playing since launch and have like 8 decks and haven’t spent a dime so can’t be to hard

Great game!
This really is a great game. I haven’t played a game for this long is quite some time now and I truthfully enjoy it above all other games on my phone. So why 3 stars? I’ll tell you. It’s not equipped for veteran players. I’ve been playing since it’s release and like all games it’s been progressing in its own way. One way In particular is the grinding. You have to grind like crazy to save up gold and tokens because you only ever Gain bits at a time. All for ridiculous costing new cards. That wouldn’t be an issue if you could still win new cards in the cache but now you have to grind even more to gain 120 collection levels each week for a chance to win a card you don’t have. And that’s if you don’t unlock a variant instead. I wish I could leave the rating at 3.5 because 3 is to harsh while 4 is being to generous. It started off great and they started making questionable decisions, all for the new comers which is great if your joining up, but after a certain point, it loses it’s true value and essence for what it started off as. There’s other small details but hey, no game is perfect. Just a simple veteran-players’ opinion. enjoy the game!

Do not be fooled like I did
This game used to be fun. The tremendous amount of hours and money I dedicated to this game (through the countless and continuous bad optimizations/lack of content/unbearable in-game balancing) has made me decide to trash this game once in for all. Meta cards play a huge role within a game like Marvel snap. Imagine grinding for months for a single meta card to just be nerfed to the ground the next day. At this point I will never be on par with my opponents unless I spend an unimaginable amount of time and money to have a decent amount of satisfaction of playing this game. Even so, sometimes time won’t cut it. SD are limiting things through lumps of cash as time pass by. A single emote for $30? Bundles costing of a triple A game? Yea what am I thinking supporting this game this past year 😂. Although an emote doesn’t define the gameplay, it does show what currency is like in Marvel snap. More and more in-game values are decreasing with a rising cost for example like in gold bundles, token Tuesdays etc. Even my friends who loves TCG games couldn’t bear with the early game of Marvel snap. My suggestion will be to try playing Marvel snap f2p and see how far you can be satisfied and happy playing Marvel snap, unless you are willing to spend of course. Other than that, save your time and effort👍

Great at first
I was enjoying the game play up until I hit pool 3 cards. Then that’s when they take the training wheels off and you play against other complete decks. I had hit infinite twice in a row starting out because it was that much easier. Ever since hitting pool 3 I can’t get past rank 80. Mainly due to the fact that you are going up against complete decks using the best meta they can get their hands on. So obviously I did what anyone else would do, I kept playing until I could get my hands on the best cards. But now, despite the fact that I have complete decks to choose from, it doesn’t matter. Because they’ll just match me up against decks that have strong counters to mine. To the point where it doesn’t feel coincidental. I won’t see certain cards all day but as soon as I switch decks there’s that pesky Cosmo, or Enchantress, or Shang Chi, or etc. Also, they have changed the way the card acquistion works since I first started playing and now you get far less in game currency rewards. To me, it’s less the fact that we’re getting less rewards but more about the fact that you had to change in the first place. It tells me that you either don’t know what you doing financially or you know exactly what you’re doing, and it’s despicable.
