We had a great experience
I’m so sad to see that several people had bad experiences at a Amelia resort. We have been Amelia club members for many years and have never experienced the issues described in some of the other reviews. We have heard that there are differences in the service levels at some of the resorts. We have always stayed at their upper level resorts and have had fabulous service! We still correspond with some of the butlers we have had over the years and have returned to specific resorts for that reason. I encourage you to reach out to their main head quarters and tell them about your experience! We had one small issue several years ago and I called the corporate manager and they gave us a week free at a resort of our choosing.

Worst app ever
We checked into the Paradisus Los Cabos. Love the resort but the app is absolutely useless. Cannot access any restaurant menus through the app nor book any reservations. No way to book spa services. It’s a shame because if the app were actually working properly and were it useful, it would improve the experience greatly. In our modern world everything is done online and having a well designed app is vital. A huge disappointment. It suggests a lack of concern on the part of Melia about customer service. The cost of app development should not preclude a large company like Melia from developing a well designed platform for their customers. Looking through the reviews of the app it is apparent the issues have been going on for years. Yet they repeatedly ask for clarification of the issues people are having as if they don’t already know. What a joke. Melia, please ask your app developer to stop treating your customers like idiots and fools. It’s patronizing to say the least. You know full well after years of consistently poor reviews, many of which contain detailed descriptions of the problems people are encountering, what the issues are. Why do you refuse to address them?? And please don’t respond with “please reach out to us” or some such nonsense. Just FIX IT.

A piece of heaven
This was my 3rd time staying at melia resorts !! I luv it so much ! I don’t want to go anywhere else! My 1st stay was at paradisus Palma real my 2nd stay was at the reserve at Palma real Nd I just got back from paradisus punta Cana got upgraded to the reserve Nd then my 2nd week upgraded to the royal service !! It was an amazing 2weeks !! The people r wonderful The service was impeccable! Our waiter Julio was the best !! I can’t wait for next time (6 months) I always recommend Meliá resorts !! If it’s not Meliá it’s not a piece of heaven!!♥️

I pay too much for this to be a piece of crap.
I’ve been trying since 8am this morning it is now 2 in the afternoon trying to get the app to work. It takes 30 minutes just for the app to load and I have the IPhone 13 Pro Max. I have tried to order room service and it still doesn’t work. A huge brand like this should have a better app. I paid tons of money to stay at the hotel in Zanzibar and can’t even order room service. What a shame. I love the property but the staff are rude and mock you specifily the manager at the jetty. I loved the cleaning crew the most of all the staff. They weren’t intrusive and gave me time to rest and came and cleaned when I was out of the room. The staff play games instead of serving people who want to order. I am at a loss of words.

App never Worked from day 1
Every employee at the hotel tells you to use the app. HOWEVER the app doesn’t work. You cant check itenerary for resort activities any where else but the app (that doesn’t work), you cant reserve to eat dinner, which is mandatory if you want to eat dinner, but the app does not work and all the guest are left arguing with the staff just to eat. It’s ridiculous. I dont get why they cant just post the activities on another platform or on a paper and tape it to the wall. Also why they make it mandatory to reserve to eat dinner but lunch and breakfast you just wait in line for your turn. by the way not 1 employee knows how to work the app but they just say check the app or you have to do it on the app -_- train your staff on how to use the app if you are forcing the guest to done Everything on it

Would never recommend
We first checked in and were told that the prices that we saw when we reserved our stay have changed. Almost doubling. Not only that the person checking is in said the new price change started today and it doesn’t matter if we booked our stay months ago and booked it with a previous price. Then our first day there was spent requesting maintenance for our room. Are sink didn’t work, safe didn’t work and our phone didn’t work. So we had to walk to the lobby since we couldn’t call. We were told several times (after walking back and forth from the lobby back to the room) that someone was coming to fix it. No one ever showed.... terrible, terrible, terrible. So much for relaxing and being taken care of on our honeymoon.

Our 50th Anniversary
50 years we so deserved the best. And we received the best. Could not have asked for more. The most beautiful accommodating resort we have stayed. We were so fortunate to have two of the best guys to guide us and become our friends. Alfredo and Alex. ❤️ they could not do enough for us and made our 50th Anniversary very special. Food delicious waiters the best. Could not have asked for more. Looking forward to our next vacation. Thank you ❤️

App doesn’t really work
Every time I try to make a reservation or anything the app tells me sign in on the home page but I’m already signed in. How do you fix that?

App doesn’t work
I spent 45 minutes trying to check in online, but app usually gives me an error message when I try to log in and on the rare occasions when I do get through it eventually crashes and you make no progress. I deleted the app from my phone as it does not do anything but irritate me and drain my iPhone battery. Whatever amenities are only available on the app are not really available. I wish I had read the other reviews before wasting my time downloading it and attempting to use it.

What is the point of this app exactly?
It says you can check in online, upgrade your room, and make reservations to restaurants. Checked in online, upgraded the room, got confirmation of all of it and then went to make reservations and it said sorry can’t do cause you have NOT checked in yet. Are you kidding me? Sign out, sign back in and low and behold it says I’ve done the online check-in, but my upgraded room?! Nope still the same one as before. And am I able to reserve restaurants? Nope. This app is useless.

Worst app ever
One of the worst apps ever. Don’t bother downloading. The Meliá website is almost as bad. Customer support told me there is nothing they can do and this is and has been a problem for a long time. Pre-check in doesn’t work. Cannot update and save my personal information such as address, country of citizenship or travel documents. Received email advising I can pre-check in to get 1,000 bonus points and upgrade. Well I can’t pre-check in andI can’t get those amenities. Have not even arrived at my destination and Meliá is already a disappointment.

Just go to the lobby don’t download
The app is terrible. I booked dinner reservations early one morning laying by the beach. I thought to myself “this is awesome” well that’s where the awesome ended. App didn’t book appointment for me, I didn’t get to eat there and the staff couldn’t help. Decided against using it for booking, but the next day I told me several of the restaurants were closed all day (they weren’t). Doesn’t display full menu for room service. Completely useless, especially since staff members push the app and don’t care when it lies to you.

Can’t even create an account
Impossible to create an account on the app, continuously get errors. Tried on mobile service, wifi, neither worked. Uninstalled, reinstalled. No reason for error such as duplicate accounts, email issues, app down, just error. Garbage. Tried online, and the webpage (via mobile) had the same issue. I’m going to just cancel my entire week stay and find a hotel that can afford to invest in a tech team.

Won’t be returning to Meliá resorts
Honestly, the experience this app provides is so bad that I’m doubtful to ever return to a Meliá resort, given their heavy emphasis on using it. Slow to load any information, completely un-intuitive design, inability to leverage many hotel services from within it - oh, and it never actually worked at all for my spouse on the same trip, so she was wholly reliant on me to do anything. This app needs a ground-up redesign and re-write. Won’t be returning to a Meliá resort until they’ve done so.

This App is like the Hotel worthless
The app just flat out doesn’t work. Trying to find my own reservation and I can’t because when it goes there it switches to Spanish. Room service menu no where to be found on app and the guest services says that’s where it’s found. And no other menu in hotel for room service. This place is a joke DO NOT STAY AT THIS JOKE OF A HOTEL. Motel 6 offers way better customer service than this “resort” does.

Can’t access features of app
To access features, the app requires the resort, your arrival/departure dates and name. Sounds simple, right? Except I accurately entered these fields and the app gives an error message that it can’t find your stay please try again later. Plus Meliá had my name all wrong on booking, so I tried that name, too. Nothing worked. Reviewing this app is like reviewing a room you can’t even enter. Doesn’t appear that Melia is serious about developing a functioning app.

Sub-par developers
While the design and intended use is decent, the app has a lot of bus including the ID drop down being broken, which means you cannot save a travel companion from a booking, add a travel companion, or update your profile. The date selectors are finicky. It took me a while to figure out “expedition” was “issue date.” Please update the app if you are marketing it and expect your guests to use it!

App not working?
Trying to log into my account and I keep getting a “there was an error”. An error shouldn’t mean that your password is wrong but Just to be safe I went to reset password, entered my email and another message saying “there was an error”. What a horrible app they can’t even make more accurate messages to know what’s going on and there is no information on who to contact. PLEASE HELP!

Worst app
Major issues with creating an account especially with creating a password. Big glitch when your password, says they don’t match and you can’t edit the fields. And I couldn’t order room service without logging in. Finally got it to accept one of my attempts and then didn’t recognize my confirmation number. Huge waste of my time.

Constant pop up
I haven’t been able to do anything on either App or Website because every time I try to access my account and bookings a popup asking to change my password pops up literally every time I do anything. I can’t access my account on the app because it prompts me to change my password, it won’t even let me in like on the website.

WORTHLESS
Terrible. Doesn’t work at all. Only downloaded the app because their website is also garbage and crashes when I attempt to book a room. App crashes, stalls out and has error messages all over the place. Ruling Melia out of places we’ll be staying on our upcoming trip. Can’t imagine what the hotel is like if they can’t even get an app OR a website up function enough to allow guests to book rooms.

App doesn’t work
This app is by far the worst I’ve used. You pay for a vacation, the resort demands you use the app for service and then it doesn’t display that you’re checked in (when you’ve been here for 24 hours), won’t give you the OPTION to check in, and won’t let you see or book any services. Terrible start to a 7 day vacation.

Useless App
I’m not sure what the point of having this app is. I’m not able to book any services, see a map of the hotel or make any restaurant reservations. It’s just an app for the sake of having an app. The developers keep saying they are making improvements. Why not just release a fully functional app vs giving us minor enhancements incrementally?

This app is useless
I wish I could give it a zero. We (tried) using this app on a recent vacation at Melia Caribe Beach and it worked for first day, that too it was very slow and information was easy to find. My family and friends traveling with us had same issues. I have used the same app in other Melia properties and it was a tad better. Melia fix your app.

Horrible app
This app does not work at all. We’ve been at our hotel for 6 days and haven’t been able to log in even once. There’s always an “error” that asks you to try again later. I’ve tried making a new account, my husband and my teenager tried to make an account… nothing. We all get the same message.

App won’t log me in
I downloaded the app in the past. I tried using it to contact a hotel I have a reservation at. The app won’t recognize my password. When I try to reset it, it won’t accept a new password. When I try to create a new account I am not allowed. There is no way to get help with the app. I’d like a way to communicate to someone who works at melia in Mallorca.

This app is not usable
This is one of the worst apps I have ever used in my life. Enter detail passport information then it disappears. The country selection is one of the worst in mobile design. Multiple points of failure in the app for all travelers in the group. We all agree it’s useless Please delete and start over with someone who went to computer school.

Mostly works, but very clunky
Used it on our trip to a resort. It works. But barely. Clunky / slow / interface doesn’t do what you’d expect. That said, at least we were able to use it (with effort) for ordering room service and looking at the menus.

Cannot even log in
I have followed prompts to download and login to app. When I tried to log in with my Meliá rewards information I got an error message. When I tried to make an account, I received an error message. After reading other reviews I am nervous about this potential complication for my impending trip.

Terrible
As others have said, this app does not work. They ask you to check in on it, but you can’t. They say you can make dinner reservations on it, but you can’t. They should just scrap the whole thing and start over. This app was just the start of the inconveniences we had staying at our resort in Punta Cana.

Crashes within a second.
This app crashes within a second on my phone, my husbands and a friend’s phone. It worked a couple days ago and is very helpful and nice design when it works! We’ve all rebooted our phones and deleted and reinstalled the app without success. Hope this is fixed soon.

Terrible
I haven’t even gotten to the resort and I can’t sign into the app!! It recognizes my email but when i put in forgot password says my email isn’t correct . So I try to redo all my info and says it already exists . It’s a vicious circle. I hope this isn’t what you use for dinner reservations! I’m going to be livid!!

App doesn’t work
Useless app, especially for any services while at the hotel. Won’t recognize my stay, won’t keep me logged in, so I’m not able to view anything or request anything. Front desk staff were unable to assist, but said guests often have problems. I can view my reservation and some profile info-that’s it.

Train wreck of an app
The app isn’t functional. It’s not only buggy but it’s hard to navigate. I set it up during my stay but the app kept giving cryptic error messages and put me into an endless loop of re entering my login information and booking credentials. Meliá: please remove this app from the App Store until it’s re-written and works.

Not functional
App takes forever to load and when it does, nothing seems to work. Other than showing my reservation the app provides zero additional functionality and is frankly a net negative to the resort experience. Whomever developed this app pulled a fast one on Melia.

Booked though another website this time. They need to update the app so even if you booked at any website, it should find your booking. If you are a rewards member. The hotel itself in Punta Cana is beautiful. But if the app works properly it would be a good stay.

One of the worst
I think this app was written in a prison camp. Here are the highlights: 1. Often doesn’t remember credentials. 2. Often cannot find current reservation (even after JUST viewing it). 3. They have the AUDACITY to invoke Captcha (googles pseudo bot checker). So, imagine traveling to a foreign country and can’t show the taxi driver your hotel address because the Captcha tiles are unreadable in daylight or there’s no enough connectivity to complete the Captcha handshake. IN WHAT WORLD DO BOTS MAKE International reservations?!?!? 4. Have needed to call the toll free reservation line because the app couldn’t complete credit card transactions.

Could not find my reservation to use the app
Signed up and got reward points and stayed in Cancun. App wouldn't let me find my trip and the staff didn't know how to get it loaded in the app. Looks like lots of nice features, but I guess there's not an easy way to get to them.

This app doesn't work. Per the app reviews, I am not the only one. Will suggest my husband cancel our upcoming vacation as I am too nervous to take my kids out of country to an expensive resort with non working app and website.

Doesn’t work
I have been trying to do the pre-check in on the app. It doesn’t work. I have called the Melia contact number 5 times and have been hung up on 3 times before I can explain what the problem is. No one seems to understand that it doesn’t work!!!

I like that you can check the balance on your account but that’s all you can do. You are supposed to be able to make reservations and requests but you can’t do any of that. Pointless.

Doesn’t work
Even when logged in during a stay it does not appear to fully work. Not sure reservations actually went through. Can’t view anything on my agenda. Or else we have no agenda haha. Looking at restaurant menus seems to be only useful part of app.
