Two years and counting
I read other reviews, particularly the bad ones, and I'm a little skeptical. The complaint seem to be technical, and I'm guessing that the people who are having issues are having them do to whatever device they're currently using, and not because of the app itself. There have been a few times where I've overexerted the app, and it has frozen up and shut down on me, but I've never lost anything because of this. Despite this, in general, you would think that people know to randomly save their work in order to avoid losing large projects. This is something I learned back in high school when I would lose an entire essay because I never bothered to save it in between paragraphs. If you don't wanna lose your work, save it regularly. If there are thousands of people saying that this app works great on their phone, or their computer, and then a few dozen claiming that it's horrible on their phone or computer, chances are that it has nothing to do with the app. First, a little venting... When my subscription was up for renewal, the card linked to the app had expired. Because it couldn't automatically renew, I lost years worth of work just like that. Coloring contest entries, coloring pages, gift certificates, menus, business hours and marketing materials. I lost reports and lists and promotional material. I WAS DEVASTATED! But this was probably my fault as well. I was in a very bad place after losing my father, and I ignored all emails, notifications and call for weeks. With that said, yes, this app beats out every other app or software that I have tried since purchasing a Diner. And trust me when I say, I tried everything when designing a menu. Microsoft Office was completely useless, and I had paid so much money for dozens of apps that all claimed to be easy and efficient. This is the only app that is worth buying a yearly subscription for. There are dozens and dozens of menu templates and styles to choose from with the option of customizing each one. The images provided are beautiful. You could import whatever image you would like if it's not in stock. Designing a menu is not easy no matter what app you're using, but this app definitely makes the job a little easier. And more fun. As you can see by the list of projects I lost, there is no end to what this app can be used to create. Whether you're just having fun and playing around, you're printing coloring pages for a coloring contest, designing a menu or making gift certificates, I use this app for everything. I use it to create advertising posters, and I even write up reports using this app. I use it to create my personal recipe book, and I use it to create special menus in ordering lists. it is my go to app when it comes to putting photos together and making collages or photo reports. As far as suggestions for improvement, I do have a small list things that I've wished I could do to make things a little bit more easy. And for all I know, there is the option to do this in the app and I just never figured out how. One thing, would be the ability to copy and paste from one page to the next. there is the option to duplicate a page, but there are times when I wanted to drag one project off one page and onto the next. Another thing that would be nice to be able to do, is when you create an image or a project using different shapes and designs, if you could freeze all the little lines and shapes into one. For example, if I were to take basic shapes and lines and flip them around and change the color in order to create a single image, and then wanted to be able to duplicate that image, I would need to be able to freeze all the little lines together. Otherwise, you are duplicating hundreds of little lines and hopes of being able to put them exactly where you want them. I'm sure there is actually a way to do this somehow. And I don't know if it's the app or my phone, or even me, but I have a hard time getting the page to print the size it says it is. For example, if I choose a template for a tri-fold menu, the moment I go to create the draft, it starts me on the standard 8" by 11" page. There are no lines to indicate where the page will be folded. if I start with a template that claims to be 3 x 5", when I print it out, it's still the size of an entire page. So far, I have found it completely pointless to choose a template of a specific size because in the end you have a design on an 8 x 11 page that prints as an 8 x 11 page.. If I choose a trifold menu, it's because I want to be able to design and print it as it is. But if you start me on an 8 x 11 page and print it the same and what is the point in having all the options for a custom sized page? I really do like this app and I definitely recommend it. I have apps like Canva, but I would still recommend this one.
