I have been with Mid Penn Bank for over 27 years I would never go to another bank.. The bank on RT 22 Jonestown Road Harrisburg is the best bank ever I love the employees that work there.. they are so helpful anything you need or you have questions there to answer your questions...So if you want a good bank go to Mid Penn Bank they will help you open a checking account..
App crashes frequently and deposit limit policies stink
In the past month the app crashes every time I open it with a fingerprint. I suspect that the newest iOS update isn’t compatible. The app is still usable if you plan on logging in manually without the fingerprint. It’s a fairly straightforward app but I hate the mobile check deposit rules. If you travel, or can’t make it to a physical branch to deposit a check good luck getting it deposited with the mobile app. The check deposit limit is so low it’s practical useless. I actually opened an online account with Ally bank that allows me to deposit up to $50k (I’d have a hard time maxing out that daily limit! Lol) a day through mobile deposits and the funds are available next day. Mid Penn needs to make their app and policies more comparable to other banks to remain “my bank”.
I just came over in the merger from Riverview Bank. Riverview had a nice mobile app. Based on the MPB app rating, I was expecting a better app, especially with deposits. Mobile deposits work in the MPB app, I guess, but it’s not nearly as smooth or user-friendly. Frankly, MPB should have adopted Riverview’s app. My nearest bank is 20 minutes away, so I depend on the mobile app. I hope the app improves soon or I will be forced to consider moving to a new bank.
App is working better than before, guess it could have been my phone. That said, it does have an easy to understand layout and is super easy to use. However, processing takes (for me) two full business days when doing the Mobile Deposit. It would be 5 stars if that could be made quicker.
This app + the website’s online banking are so bad it’s making me go to a new bank. Every time i log in online it tells me my password is wrong & i need a new one. Takes 10-40 minutes to receive the recovery email. Not exactly what you want when you need to know how much money is in your account. The check cashing part of the app also did not work for me.
Being forced to switch from a great app produce by Riverview to a mediocre app which is Mid Penn Bank. It is as if they just bought up a company took all the customers and through away everything great that company did, no sense of mind to when they were going to turn the Riverview app off. Highly recommend choosing a Different Banking Group!
This banking app is literally the worst I ever worked with. 1/2 the time it won’t load and rejects a password that is correct. It’s horrible and since branch offices aren’t open 1/2 the time anymore I need mobile banking but will end up at another bank soon.
I hate this app! It is useless to make mobile deposits. I do business with several banks and their mobile deposit feature are easy to use and always works, but this app ALWAYS, each and every time, rejects the mobile deposits. This app could REALLY use some work.
I've been waiting for this for so long and it's finally here! Now for the app it's exactly what I need it for just to see my balance and transactions without going to the website in my phone. I have not endured any problems yet so they did a good job!
Zelle is linked to this banking app but I can’t figure out how to use it and there’s no instruction on how to find the option to use Zelle to send and receive money.
Love the app works well let's you do everything you would online right on your phone. Nice to see Mid Penn keeping up with the times. Keeping my fingers crossed, if you read the terms and conditions it says about mobile check upload! Not in the app yet but fingers crossed!
The online mobile deposit process is a nightmare! I never had any issues with my previous banks. It takes forever to get the image in the right place to upload the check. Also, If you don’t write the for mobile deposit @midpenn exactly how they want it they will reject your check.
