I use to like this app until i noticed it quite often has issues, and they only get resolved by uninstalling the app and reinstalling it which is really frustrating because it has happened to me while I am shopping and well I don’t have the time to type in all the card numbers or remember the password.
This kind of app was very much needed! I really like how easy it is to use. The scanner is a life savor to find out what items are WIC approved and avoid those awkward moments at the register asking them to void an item. Also being able to keep up with your benefits list and the usage of them comes very handle as well, I don’t know how many times I misplaced the receipt with my ending benefits list or have to get in line at a register to check them. I do wish the benefit deduction wouldn’t take so long to update. But other than that awesome job guys!
This app is great! It shows you how much you have left, what you are approved to buy, and it even has a shopping guide in case you’re unsure about products! And the best part is that there’s a barcode scanner to double check approved items which makes the process so much easier when checking out so you can make sure you didn’t pick up something that isn’t approved. Thank you for the updates!
At first this app helped out a lot while shopping. But for someone reason my card itself stopped working so wic changed my card . Now I’m trying to update my card and either it’s the barcode that won’t scan my card number ( which isn’t so much of a big deal cause I can always type it in) or it won’t let me change the date where you enter your birthday. It auto fills to today’s date. Like how am I suppose to enter my birthday and finish filling out the registration portion to add new card and use your app when it won’t function correctly. I didn’t have this issue with my first card.
Recently the app shows benefits available that are not actually available. The app also says “ benefits may be 2 to 5 days behind”. How about two weeks or more behind if they update at all. I’m still showing a balance for cheese, bread, yogurt and vegetables even though those benefits were used well over 14 days ago. If you’re relying on this app to be accurate when you go to check your groceries, don’t rely on it. Rely on the paper print out. I don’t know if this is a database problem from Texas WIC or a problem with the app, but it needs to be fixed.
I see why only 164 people have this app downloaded. It crashed as soon as you open it. It gives you the option to type your location vs turning on the location but won’t let you use the store finder unless you turn on location…so what’s the point of giving me the option to type in my location? Then no soon as I turn on my location it crashes. And why does it take 2-5 days to update? I had slightly high hopes…but alas they were dashed.
If my phone goes to sleep or I get out of the app for some reason it logs me out and I have to log back every time. It doesn’t save any info at all so I have to retype everything for every single log in! Very frustrating to use! I just moved from another state and the WIC app worked so much better! Never logged me out, saved all my info and very easy and helpful when using it in the store.
This app always comes in handy instead of always looking back at the receipt and reminding me how many days I have until the next month. I also like how it shows what I can buy so I won’t be confused!
I was debating whether to download this app because of the ratings it had. So far I like it shows me what I have in my card haven’t use the barcode scanner at the store. But I like that it shows you the things you can get. 😁Very happy so far
This app is terrible! I went to the store for the first time today to use my benefits. First off, the app takes forever to load. Secondly, everything I was scanning was saying “not wic approved” although it had the wic sticker. I got the items anyway and at the register, they were approved. That seriously needs to be fixed because in turn, everything that scanned as wic approved, didn’t approve at the register. Quite frustrating.
I have to keep closing out the app and reopening to get it off the page where it froze and even then it sometimes freezes “loading” upon opening app. Constantly having issues. Can’t click on links. Practically useless.
This app is so helpful while shopping for WIC in stores! I hated lugging around the WIC shopping guide to look up approved items during my shopping trips and now I no longer need to with this app. Thank you so much for bringing this to reality and allowing everyone the use of it!
I thought since most of these reviews were dated back for MONTHS, that the app would have been updated to properly work. However. I have the same issue as countless of reviews before me, it won’t allow me to log in. The text said “if your account is new, wait 1-2 days before trying to log in”, I’ve waited five days and it still won’t allow me to log in. If no one can get into the app, why is it being recommended so strongly?
The app has great potential. I only use it to check my benefits, however it’s very difficult as the app crashes like none I’ve ever seen. I open the app, see a woman pleasantly shopping, and boom, crashes. This constantly happens even after deleting and downloading again. I may get as far as to the benefits, only saw a glance, not even enough time to at least screen shot and it crashes. Terrible.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, logged out and logged back in, checked my network connection and it STILL doesn’t load my benefits. It’s done this for the past three months! And I know I have benefits becuase they send me the paper in the mail. But the whole point of the app is so I can have an updated version of my benefits. Really wouldn’t recommend this app.
The application is not updating my benefits..!! I went to the store and I checked my app to see what benefits I had and it showed I had everything so I grabbed a few items, when I was paying I got denied for the items I took and the cashier said no benefits so I checked again and same it shows I still have all my benefits and I totally forgot I had gotten out several items.!
I like the app because I can see my appointments and my food balance but once you used some of your benefits the app takes a lot of time to update. That’s my only concern! It will be better if I don’t have to wait 2-5 days to see my remaining food balance.
This app has been crashing for a few months now very tine I open it to see my benefits i have to do it fast and screenshot before the app crashes and takes me out or i have to log in again and do the same process this is very frustrating when I want to know how much benefits i have left and the app cant even stay open !!
This app is always closing out on me when I am in the middle of using it. Most of the time it closes right when I open it. I'm able to uninstall and reinstall, but that is frustrating! The whole interface could be modernized and more simple.
It’s great when it works completely, but ever since Covid began and they updated the foods I haven’t been able to see any of my benefits, which means I also can’t even use the shopping guide rendering it useless to me. This app has been useless for almost a complete year already and no one has patched it or updated? What a waste
I can use anything but the tab to view what benefits I have. It had a large pop up screen that tells menit updates 2-5 days and i cant see anything. And wont let me click on it or anything. Only does this on an iphone. Y'all may want to fix that.
When I open the app it immediately closes and boots me off and won’t let me look at my benefits and if I’m lucky I’ll get to see it and have to quickly screen shot the benefits page before it shuts down again so I know what I have. Needs a major update to fix this issue so the app will work properly
This ap is good for it’s intended purpose but it won’t stay open long enough to let you actually use it, it could be good but it closes out every time you open it especially at the store when you really need it
Didn’t update my balance. 2 weeks later I go back to use the rest of my produce thinking I had $11 left. Nope, the employee told me it’s zero balance. It’s the last day to use my benefits for the month but it still says I have the same amount remaining in my card.
We just got WIC for the first time. We get to Wal-Mart and NOTHING is labelled as WIC approved so I try to scan items on the app only for the app to not register any stores near by. Very frustrating that we can’t access the information we need.
The app use to be very helpful but now that I have updated card (the one with the Ferris wheel) the app does bog recognize it. It says the card number is invalid and so is my birthday apparently. Really wish they would fix this app already because it’d be very good to have!
Worked good for like a week and since then I can’t even get the app to stay open or even open up sometimes. It just closes. I can’t look at what I have left. I can’t look at what I can get. I can’t even look at the Home Screen.
When I first started using this app I loved it. But now when I get on it has no info on what benefits I still have. I still have to go to the checkout to see what I have available it’s been already 5 months since this started.. very frustrating
The stores and items listed as WIC approved are actually incorrect. I’ve gone to two different stores already, selected items specifically listed in the app, verified I got correct brand and weight and only to show up at the register and be told WIC cards are not approved as method of payment.
The most recent issue i am having is that i cant log in to the app anymore because it is asking for my birthday but the only option i can put in is may 2, 2002 which is not my birthday. This is frustrating!
I’ve been trying to check my benefits for over a week and every time I open the app, it crashes. I get this is a state funded thing but you’d think we’d at least be able to check what little benefits WIC provides so I know what I can get at the store.
This app could be helpful but it always fails the one time I was able to use it was pretty nice but for some reason it just stopped working. Someone needs to really work on this app to make it useful for all the partners that need guidance on WIC info.
This app would be really helpful and convenient if it didn’t consistently crash to the point where it’s almost impossible to use. Better off doing things the old fashioned way
I have been on the app trying to look around and get familiar and the app continues to foreclose. It will not stay open longer than 60 seconds. It would be very helpful if I could actually use it
Last month I had gotten some items but when I tried to get the same items this month the cashier changed me when the app said I can get the items. And won’t update like it used to, I rather get the receipt then use the app.
This needs attention. The app doesn’t allow to log on at no time. I’m still finding myself having to stand in line to get my balance on my card. Very frustrating. I had hope for this app!!
Great concept and when it used to work really helpful. However, this all is now constantly shutting down as soon as I click to open the app. What is going on?!!
The scanner takes forever to load as soon as you scan an item or backs out of it then you’ll have to wait another 5 minutes after rescanning the item, please fix this
Every time I try to check my benefits it never lets me it always say error so I never know what my benefits are it just shows a blank white screen. Please fix the issue thank you.
App has been downloaded but doesn’t work. Won’t allow me to register. Once it finally allowed me to register, the app says it could take 5-7 days to update but it hasn’t updated almost 3 weeks later.
