UPDATE: It’s a WHOLE YEAR LATER and even after several calls to NEFCU about the problem, this is STILL NOT FIXED. My problem began after you updated this app. My phone camera works perfectly. I use it every day. Original review: Whatever you did in the last update has broken this app. I have used it for a couple years and had no problem with check deposits. But now it will not recognize my check even after FIFTEEN attempts. I have tried to reach out by chat and phone but nothing changed. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it. Nope. Not working. Not a happy long time customer.
Good stuff. Touch ID now enabled, this is hands down the best credit union/banking app I've used. Everything I can do on the website can now be done from the app. Props to the devs! Occasionally, and sometimes frequently, the app can’t connect to the server and shows no accounts. Very frustrating when I need it.
Super frustrating that check deposits from the app have never worked for me or my partner, why is it so much more picky about the pictures than any other bank app?? So annoying because we switched to credit unions and ditched big banks making sure to choose unions that have robust mobile apps. Living rurally means we rely on mobile check deposits but since that is just a fake feature apparently we frequently have to go way out of our way to find a NEFCU ATM…
I’m very happy with NEFCU and all they have to offer. Their app has always been good- better than the big bank where I also have an account- and it keeps getting better. Transferring to other members is now very easy, and the photo check deposit now works more quickly and is a big time saver for me.
NEFCU has one of the best app-based credit union platforms out there imo. A good mixture of user-friendly, phone-integrated processing and secure feel. I am satisfied to the right degree - I can bank on my phone, yet I am not likely to forget that it would be much more streamlined to actually speak with an employee
Overall super useful. I like the simplicity of cashing a check using the app. I would like to see an update to the scheduled bill pay features. I’m having difficulty editing details on a recurring payment. I imagine I will have to log in to the actual website.
There has been problems with the check deposit part of the app for years with some changes made but never a full resolution to the problems. I use multiple apple devices and have the same problems with iPhone 7, 8, X and even a iPad mini, so it’s not a specific problem to the device.
I do the majority of my banking from the simple convenience of the NEFCU app. Some favorite features include mobile deposit, easy account to account transfers, Bill Pay and quick glance at account balances. A time saver for sure! Thanks NEFCU!
Many of us receive monthly checks that exceed the maximum amount allowed via mobile deposit. That requires an unnecessary trip to the credit union in person which causes frustration and delays. Even checks written against NEFCU cannot utilize mobile deposit if they exceed the maximum amount. Requiring patrons to waste their Saturdays by waiting in line at the Williston branch is the antithesis of customer service.
Trying to do a mobile deposit has become almost impossible. You have to keep rotating the phone so the black screen goes away and you can actually complete the transaction. I’ve restarted my phone and deleted and reinstalled the app and it still doesn’t work.
Great app to view the accounts, but it’s hit or miss making a mobile deposit. A majority of the time I try to make a deposit, I just get a blurry image and the app says “rotate device to continue”. I rotate it all sorts of directions and it refuses to focus on anything.
Nagging messages asking for a review with no option to permanently disable them make this app, which is perfectly functional otherwise utterly terrible and completely unusable. You happy now devs? Can you stop asking me to review your app while I’m trying to manage my accounts?
I've used this app since they presented it to us, as an option to using the teller or drive up service. The App seems to work great when the online services are working. The online services seem to be not working or working very slow a lot of the time. I have tried banking at various times to see if the amount if web traffic the web site is processing could be the problem, but no matter what time of day it is still very slow. I have stayed with New England Federal Credit Union because of the location if a branch close to my home. But because of the slow online application and the constant new employees when you do go in I'm thinking of going somewhere else to do all of my banking.
