The camera itself, a NexiGo N660 FHD works great, at least until Moneterey came out. The software only worked on Intel i7 Mac, not an M1. Now the Camera and the software do not work with Microsoft Teams or with the OS the way they are intended. i7 on the other hand- works great.
The Nexigo N680 camera has fixed a long standing problem I had with my previous camera maintaining a proper white balance, giving me a bright reddish hue. You shouldn't need to use this app, EVER, if you just want good color and crisp images. But, if you are having adjustment issues or want to reduce the resolution, this app works great -- at least on my Macbook Pro. There is not much to add to the description. Nothing fancy, but lots of controls to play with.
Kind of a must-have app for NexiGo cameras, I use this to adjust focus, light balance, and zoom. Zoom adjustment is important to frame face properly for video conferencing. If you're not using this app, you might not be leveraging the feature that you've paid for based on which Nexigo camera you're using.
It works perfectlt well with macOS 13.5, on a Mac mini M2. For such a relatively basic device, the software and hardware are very much in tune and capable. This is not about "Pro" results. This is about giving the masses a real chance at getting their heads wrapped around what is easily attainable with this softeware on Nexigo cameras.
Just like brat22babygirl, the camera is unusable - although it will work for a short time right after re-plugging in the USB on my Mac Mini, it won't stay that way. Support ignored the fact that I gave them all the info they needed in my original message to them and still asked for it all over again. Going to try to return it and never buy again. #GoingOffBrandIsRisky
Just like a few other people - I'm having issues with this camera not working on a Mac Studio. I contacted support and they just keep sending me replacement cameras. It's clearly a software issue, not an issue with the physical camera. So I'm going to just have to buy a new one from a company that actually works with Mac software cause this one definitely doesn't.
The software won't even open after downloading it. I have a new Mac Mini, and have had no problems with anything, until I tried to download this software...now it won't stop "thinking" and the app won't open, and I can't really move around or do anything else in my computer.
I was doing well, until Mac Montery. Now the camera is choppy and drives everone on my calls nuts. I tried to download a new driver hoping it would help, but it just forwareded me to the app, which literally does nothing to help. The app freezes and crashes, and doesnt do anything to help the situation. I just want it to work!
This webcam worked perfectly until I upgraded my mac's OS to Monterey. Then, participants began to notice a his comming from my stream. I nvestigated and indeed the mic now hisses constantly. I downloaded the NEXIGO software but to no avail. I bought this camera in October of 2021 so it is still new but outside of the returnability window.
Using Monterey 12.6.1 on a MacBook Pro 16" (2019) and the app won't even open. The icon just bounces in the dock and does nothing. The webcam itself is functional; but after each Zoom or Teams meeting I need to unplug it and re-plug it back into the USB port for it to work again.
Ive wasted my Money! The camera worked ONE TIME. After that the Nexigo Software WILL NOT load and therfore the camera DOES NOT WORK. At this point if I could give zero stars, I would. If you are a Mac user with a New Mac Mini DO NOT waste your money or your time on the Nexigo WebCam and Software, it is INCOMPATIBLE!!
can not see an option to add camera just a blank field horrible app does not even request access the camera so it can be added to the os security to give camera access useless app
Tons of minor glitches all over. Just overall poorly QA'd to find the bugs. One of my biggest frustrations is saving presets is onconsistent. I've saved a few, but now that I have new lights I can't make new presets.
Do not use if you have plans to upgrade to Monterey. I just updated to Monterey and the camera is no longer functioning. No help from Nexigo either. Warning do not use.
Not compatible with M1 Macbooks ... use ManyCam instead
A lot of web cam companies are having difficulting adapting their software to work with M1 and M2 webcams. In the mean time I've found that the ManyCam software, which has a free version with watermark, works fine.
What a waste of money. The webcam flickers even after installing software for macbook. Light adjustment doesn't do anything. So glad I bought this webcam that flickers. unreal.
I love all the tuning options. I was able to dial my camera in just right with my lighting. One of my co-workers commented on how clear and crisp my video is during a zoom meeting last night.
Stopped working with the mac update to monterey... they even acknowledge this on the website.. its been over a month. FIX IT! What a joke of a company. You're product is web/tech based and you dont have an app fix? I will never buy Nexigo again because you clearly place no value on your mac customers.
When I open the app in Monterey all the settings are grayed out and can't be changed. Clicking the "Preview" button crashes the app. I'm not exaggerating when I say the software is completely unusable.
Perhaps works with an older version of Mac OS, but doesn't work at all with Mac OS Monterey Beta 7. Opens, sees camera, but all settings are greyed out, and clicking "preview" force-closes the application. However, camera still works -- shows up in other applications.
Software worked great for a few months and then stopped working. Upgraded compuer thinking that was the issue and still does not work. Horrible camera do not buy.
You can't set resolution. Users need to be able to reduce the resolution below full, either to save bandwidth or to reduce the field of view for a more professional appearance in conferences, or both.
You cant customize the camera settings if you have OS Monterey, making the Nexigo camera default setting - the only option you have. Mac Genius suggested I try a Logitec camera for better functionality with OS Monterey.
Save your time. I have 3 Nexico cameras which I love, but the software decides which one it will connect to with a 'hey, try this' dropdown box which does nothing.
v.1.01 does not see a connected n650 camera, so the app is useless (all settings grayed out, no camera listed in the selection list, and it keeps saying to connect a Nexigo camera if the Preview button is clicked). This is happening on an M1 Mac with Monterey v.12.2 and an older Intel Mac with High Sierra v.10.13.6, so it's not Monterey. Maybe the app is not compatible with fixed-focus cameras, such as the n650.
I do not have an M1 chip but have Monterey recently. MacBook Pro 2020. 2 Nexigo cameras badly in need of the ability to refine their parameters - otherwise they are like any cheap bottom end camera. Crashes every time hit Preview - otherwise everything is grayed out.
