Not much has ever worked well with NH Ez Pass, but this app is just terrible. Pretty much any change you want to make to your account (new plates, new transponders, changing vehicles etc…) causes problems. Either the app, or the website won't have the functionality you need to complete a task, or it is flat out broken. Tried updating a license plate and the app crashes every time even trying to do it on multiple devices. The good news is that the system seems to be broken at the toll booths as well, as we've gone through tolls several times with a dead transponder and even though the bell rings, we don't seem to be getting tolls added to the account. Maybe once the state realizes they're losing revenue they'll fix it, the app developer doesn't even seem to be in business anymore.
IPhone. To pay a toll: entered my license plate #, & the next drop-down box for “Country” & the rest are broken. I can see 1/8” of white at the bottom of my screen pop-up as if it’s trying to work. The only other thing on that page that works is the calendar, but if you can’t fill out everything you cannot get to the next page. And why do you have to re-enter all your info every time you do anything? And what’s with the “double-tapping?” This whole app is messed up in my opinion. Don’t get me started in the “easy” pay in 7-days. Even the website has a lot of issues. This makes our state look bad.
After seeing all the bad reviews, I had a sliver of hope that maybe the app would work for me, but unfortunately that was not the case. After putting in my credentials the loading wheel would spin for a few seconds and then stop, and clicking the login button again doesnt fix anything. I wanted an alternative to the website as the EZ Pass NH website not only really clunky, it never remembers me (even when I check the box). How in the love of all things holy can a state endorsed service be so miserably awful. Its almost as if EZ-Pass is deliberately trying to be as user hostile as possible. Do better.
I just took me half of my day to pay a two dollar toll using these broken New Hampshire state services. The website doesn’t accept payments right now. The phone system does not allow you to pay a toll over the phone, which I learned at the end of a 34 caller queue. This app is a hot dumpster fire full of pig lard and bird droppings. I was eventually able to pay the toll, but only after seven or eight attempts, and making sweet sweet love to the screen and the most delicate ways. Press the wrong spot and all heck breaks loose.
I can now access on my iPhone. Last week it only worked on my iPad. My guess is that developers are working through the issues. I would normally use the app only for info. In the very rare circumstance that I made a change, the web site is good enough. Other users need those features on the apps. I expect the developers will fix it. This stuff can’t be that difficult once you recognize the issue.
Are these reviewers just salty cause they’re trying to manually pay something vs using auto replenish? I logged in, see my history, see my balance, I moved on with my day Auto replenish and set a $ amount to auto fill at, and never worry about paying the tolls or being late with payments
I enter my userid and password, get the circle, then nothing! No message. Just the screen with the login button. When I press login again, it thinks I pressed the button to pay a fine. Then when I press the back button, it doesn’t go back. I had trouble with the website but this is worse. I was hoping it would be better, but from the low star rating, I see I was wrong. THIS IS A TOTAL PIECE OF GARBAGE. I can’t believe they don’t get competent developers to fix this.
You put all the info in the form to add a vehicle and click submit and the app crashes. Tried that 3 times same result. Yes i can do this on the website, but what is the point of having an app if you can’t actually use it to add vehicles and match transponders etc? You charge us money to drive where we want to go, and have automated the toll operators out of a job…the least you could do is reinvest some of the proceeds into making your “service” more user friendly. Fix your app!
On iPhone 12 the app crashes whenever I try to see past transactions or try to add funds or even add another card. There’s also no way of contacting ez pass app support. The contact support button in the App Store just brings you to the nh ez pass website. With all the taxes that get taken for the state, you’d think they would have developed an app with more finish to it. Hurts worse that they have been emailing over and over to tell people to try the app. Good job - not.
This app looks pretty good but that’s about it. It is not functional AT ALL. You cannot do anything in this app except look at your account. If you try to edit ANYTHING, it immediately crashes. If you try to pay an invoice or simply add money to your account, it crashes. Seriously. This should never have made it to the App Store like this. Absolutely pathetic. Fix this quickly or pull it from the App store because it’s not any good to anyone!
This app handles tax payers and public funded payments to the state for toll roads and is a complete disaster. Can never log in, I’m constantly being charged the automatic top-up funds into my account and then having my account/transponder suspended for “non payment” of invoices. Whoever the state of New Hampshire hired to handle the development of this app needs to be investigated for misappropriation of funds. The state is being robbed and causing problems for its tax payers by the developers of this app.
I spent way too long trying to update my payment method for automatic replenishment. When you log into the website, you cannot account your wallet information to update and when you go to the app, when you go to enter and save your new payment method, the app closes itself and does not save the changes. I abandoned the task and hopefully I won’t hit my threshold amount for a while.
Decide to download this app. I create an account and go through all the info and make a pin, make a password, answer three security questions, get to the last page and put in my credit card info. I hit the button to make a payment and it says this license plate already has an account! Grrrrr! So this app is only for new customers? Why didn’t it say that four pages ago? Terrible app.
Not only does the app just plain not work, but the website doesn’t as well. Both are highly unresponsive and won’t register clicks/taps on buttons. And when trying to pay a toll it just states that “we were unable to process your request at this time” and has been terrible for a long time based on other reviews. Take this app off the App Store Apple. It’s a waste of bits.
Not only does it take forever to load anything on the app but also I tried adding a new car and as soon as I put all the information in the app just closes out. I tried three times before writing this review. I downloaded the app hoping it would be better than using the website but both make it near impossible to get anything done.
This app is an EPIC FAIL. Only gave it a one star rating because you can’t give it a ZERO star rating. It’s so painful to use. Trying to add multiple vehicles and the stupid app keeps closing in the middle of the data entry. What’s the fricken point of this app if it’s so crappy. Needs MAJOR fixes. Have been an ezPass NH user for YEARS and with multiple cars. Never had a problem until trying to use this app. Back to the website for me.
The vendor is really pulling a scam on the state of New Hampshire here, no doubt collecting concession revenue for managing E-Z Pass while not actually providing a usable app that one can even successfully log into using the identical credentials as the web site. Do t waste your time trying to download re-download, you still won’t be able to log in bc they’re too lazy or indifferent to fix it.
Big surprise, the same people who can’t manage to make a mobile version of a website work also can’t manage to make an iPhone app work. I have tried periodically over the years to even sign in to this app and it has never worked. Can’t even tell you how the rest of the app functions because I can’t even sign in.
Neither the app or the website work. Cannot log on, cannot view my account, cannot send an inquiry about why nothing works. Customer service is closed and they have a permanent message about the system incorrectly saying there are 20 people in the queue, all the time. Fix something please so customers can get information.
Trying to pay a bill that I’m shouldn’t even be responsible for. There is some glitch with E-ZPass recurring payment and because of their glitch I’m given notice to pay tolls plus processing fees. I tried paying online but that didn’t work. I had to call and speak to a rep in order to pay. Horrible experience.
Looks good. So far nothing to complain about! As a Safari browser user I’m thrilled for this app. Now I don’t have to go look for someone’s PC to see my account. Thank-you!
Echoing the other review on here. It’s aesthetically pleasing, but you can’t actually perform any actions without the app crashing. Wondering if it’ll get better with time. I think it just came out this week, and it’s surprisingly high in the App Store; maybe the server can’t handle because they didn’t anticipate such high traffic.
I downloaded this app when I got a new transponder for my new card. Worked well for about a week and now won’t log in at all. Just a spinning thing for about 10 seconds and then nothing! You would think with the amount of property taxes, vehicle registration fees, tolls, and other things the state charges we could get a simple app that works! Bravo, NH! Bravo! 👎
As excited as I originally was for this app, it has fallen short of expectations. It crashes when you try to do just about anything on it. You can't edit any information or even make a payment without the app crashing. The app is useless beyond just viewing your account information. Honestly I expected better.
If you get frustrated with the website don’t fret, the app is the same deal. The app was fine when they initially forced everyone to get a transponder but the months after it won’t even let me log in anymore so I’m back to the lovely website. You’d think with all the money the state makes off tolls a simple app would work.
NH has the worst ezpass in the world. App is a total fail. Phone system is impossible. Even MA has a better system. Even the NH website is a total fail. The only way I could pay this $2 toll is via a mailed credit card or mailed check. I chose credit card as that will cost NH extra processing fees. They wasted my time for a $2 toll. NH must be losing money on this.
The app works ok, couldn’t add a vehicle because I couldn’t scroll. I was able to edit and change my old vehicle to my new one. Adding funds was easy. I was able to view my recent transactions.
Ok let’s face it. NH is behind on times clearly! But they finally put out an app for E-ZPass, and then the app doesn’t even work. You go to make any kind of changes and it instantly crashes! Even the sucky website was better than this. It’s almost like NH E-ZPass is only made for computers even though we are in a day and age where we are wayyy past that
Probably the worst application I’ve ever used on the Apple platform. As stated by others, changing any data on it is next to impossible, as every time you change fields, the app crashes and you need to login again. In addition, it doesn’t recognize your existing password and you can’tUse your fingerprint.
I couldn’t properly reset my password via the app. I couldn’t update my address via the app. I couldn’t update my credit card on the app. These things weren’t that easy on the website either. I guess I’ll just wait for my balance to run dry to deal with this again. Hopefully they’ve hired an IT department by then.
Only gave a one star because that is the lowest it goes. I can’t get to any I’ve the screens without being kicked out. What a great system the state of New Hampshire has. All the money we provide them and this is the best they can do. I would rather no app then this. What a waste of time and space on my phone.
Skip the app, save yourself a lot of wasted time. Go to the website in a browser. The website is pretty lame too, but mostly works, sort of. For such a major revenue stream you’d think NH could and should do better. Sometimes it’s just easier to go to the local office.
A little slow but New Hampshire’s making progress, I used to live in MA and you can do a lot things in your phone or compute, now they have to work in the website of RMV. Thanks
Crashed as soon as I opened it to add security Q&A
As soon as I added an answer to one of the security questions in the Account > Security it quit out immediately. This is the only app I can think of that's ever crashed. It was probably released way too fast without and user testing or QA at all. I removed the app after the crashes.
If you’ve ever been frustrated by the fact that the NH EZPass website isn’t available on mobile, wait til you try the app! My primary need is to add and remove a car when traveling and renting a car. With repeated attempts, the app crashed every time. Don’t bother.
Probably worst app I’ve ever used. I’m literally trying to pay them money. You’d think that would be the one part of their app that works, but no. Not even that does. The app has crashed 5 times in less than 5 minutes I would use the website but that’s trash too
iPhone 12 Pro Unable to update credit card expiration date on file. Unable to delete that card. Unable to add a new card. - crashes when clicking expiration date Unable to add ACH - crashes after a few minutes. Also doesn’t allow enough fields to fit an account number lol!??? What a bunch of hacks working for the state. There’s literally no purpose to this app as it’s not functional. NH - you’re not Microsoft, you can’t roll out an unfinished product and think folks will continue to use or comeback to it once it’s “completed”
The only reason i could imagine a pay by invoice to be frozen is to get you to forget about it and have to pay later. This whole digital toll thing for out of staters just leaves a bad taste months later. For what a few bucks! Ill remember the options and tail dingleberries when it comes to vermont or NH roads.
The website is terrible so I had hopes the app would be better but it won’t even accept my credentials to log in. Seriously, with all the money you make, you could put a little effort into fixing at least one of these platforms.
Terrible can’t do anything with this app except see a quick glimpse of balance before it crashes by the time u login to do anything or update guess what crash junk needs to be fixed or no point of the app
I tried to enter the card i use for everything with no problem, and even after 5 times of trying to fix the error message of “missing card number or cvv” it still will not accept it.
Just like the NH-EZ Pass website and their “customer service” support number where it tells you, regardless of anything, that you are 20th in line. You will always be 20th in line no matter what and your call will never be answered no matter how long you wait.
Everything was working fine except now I can’t login to my account on the app. Won’t do anything. I had to use the automated system to change my license plate number and now I can’t get in.
What an absolute joke. There are eight year olds who could actually build a better application than this. I don’t know that they ever even really tried to build a usable app, but at this point it’s painfully clear they’ve just given up.
I need to update my CC, but the website has been down for the last day. Called customer service with a queue of 44 people. Downloaded the app and tried 4 times to enter my CC only for the app to close every time at a different point. Extremely frustrating.
Downloaded even with the 1 star rating. I guess I felt optimistic. I logged just fine and tried adding my new vehicle. App crashed while trying to add the plate type. I tried it twice before I deleted the app. This app is worthless if you can’t make simple account changes.
I like the idea of having an E-ZPass app to be able to manage, and view transactions. However, there appears to be a glitch with the app, I’ve been trying to update a telephone number, every time the app crashes. The app needs a little more work.
Downloaded the app on IPhone and can’t log into app. Removed and downloaded again, same issue. Able to login using website only. Waste of time to try and use.
New Hampshire Department of Transportation. Mobile Tolling Application. Users can access all features of the NHDOT E-ZPass website with a handy mobile app: Create account, request transponder, make payments, pay invoices, pay-a-toll, view recent transactions, account balances and more.
