You can’t get to the submit button when on the bill pay page because the keyboard is in the way and there’s no way to get rid of it to click submit. You can’t even update an existing account on the bill pay page because the keyboard is persistent and you can’t get to the submit button. A lot of good that does you when half the universe is using phone apps now for everything!
What the heck were you thinking, and who was your focus group testers? This new interface and logic of organization is about as far away from user friendly as I’ve seen in a long time, and yes, I have experience in this field. Use of non standard icons, odd placements and color shading, and the change in making all accounts from a single person to come under one login is terrible. I do not want my business account under my personal or joint account logins. NECU needs to consider a ‘reboot’ of this new app, or risk loosing customers and having bad public press and risk not gaining new customers due to that. There are so many things wrong with this, I don’t want to spend time writing them all here. Try looking at a decent user app and interface, maybe a Bank of America, or other bank that has high ratings for their app, and mimic that. I gave it 2 stars for good security, but the user interface is a 0 star app.
I use complex passwords to keep all my accounts safe. Because of this, I don’t know my password off the top of my head. So, I use “Remember Me” when signing in. Without fail it’ll sign me out after every use, it’s so annoying! What’s the point of remember me if it’s going to sign me out every time. If I can’t use this app on the go, it’s useless. I can just check on my computer when I’m home. For example: I just signed into the app, came here to check the reviews, went back to the app because it was still open in the background, and the app signed me out. If this app doesn’t get some sort of update to remedy this soon, it’s getting a one star and I’m deleting it. It’s not convenient at all, it actually makes things a lot more complicated.
The primary motivation for downloading the app was to maintain access to NECU abroad. It was an immediate scare to see that all balances no longer existed. I calmed down when checking the web login, then became frustrated that one of the most basic elements of the app (balance inquiry) did not function. It turns out different currencies throw this thing off. My iPhone was set to the region I was living in (necessary to use apps for the local region). I needed to switch the phone’s recon back manually to the U.S.. The trouble shooting was my responsibility because there are not obvious areas within the app to seek support with issues. It’s a otherwise sleek looking app. Although this is a single star review, it’s also likely this does not present a problem for a majority of NECU customers.
God forbid you have any fraud on your account - you’ll get blocked out of any and all online banking! FOR SIX MONTHS. You can’t even check your balances online, only call or go into a branch! During Covid I’m not going into a branch potentially multiple times a week. And I work all day, I can’t just call-and sit on hold for 20+ minutes- whenever I need to check on something. How am I supposed to pay my bills if I can’t see what’s in my account or what transactions have gone through? As soon as I can I’m leaving northeast. They have horrible policies, horrible customer service, and aren’t even that good compared to other credit unions! And I almost told my family to bank here! Hah! What a joke. Screw you northeast!
This new digital banking platform both on mobile devices and laptop/desktop is outstanding! It is quite easy to maneuver, and I found the helpdesk extremely responsive when I was slightly confused about a transfer option. NECU is working hard to both maintain and improve all aspects of their relationships with their members and the community! You have to give them a try! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The new (2022) Northeast CU app is amazing! My favorite features are being able to review your credit score, easily renaming and categorizing accounts, being able to link external accounts- now I can see all of my real time balances at other Banks from this app and just the overall ease of the navigation. I like this better than my Citizens and Capital one online banking .
So I use Face ID on my iPhone to logon. When I am done with the app I click the menu to log out. I log out and then the NECUMobile app auto redirects me to the front screen of the app.... which triggers the Face ID which you guessed it.. logs me in again... I also have text alerts letting me know when someone is logging into my account so that just adds to the phun. I then have to log out again .. so I have to quick swipe up and kill the app using tile view... just a FYI.
This seems like the first app NECU created. I am not liking it and miss the previous version. I am all for change as long it adds something but this seems like they went backwards. What’s with all the unnecessary white space? I haven’t tested all the features but noticed the awful login screen right away when I couldn’t use the fingerprint scanner on my iPad.
I have never had a problem with this app until yesterday. I was trying to check my balance when it insisted I create security questions. (Note to developers: Put a “later” option in. It is not always possible to drop everything and do something so stupid, and people still need their information.) Today I did the security questions, and the app asked me to do three more. On top of this, it appears the thumbprint login is suddenly intermittent. Please, step one: remove heads from rectums. Step two: fix app. Step three: go to career counseling and find a suitable occupation.
This is the first review I’ve ever left. The old Appl was fine, the new one makes it almost impossible to use. We need the ability to deposit checks, and this takes that away. It takes at least 10 minutes to deposit one check if it works at all. Every time you try to take pictures of the check, and finish the process the app crashes or logs you out or freezes etc. Completely useless. Thought they would get it fixed, gave it over a month. Nothing has changed.
The new update they came out with where they ‘revamped’ the app was unnecessary. It was fine before in my eyes. Now accounts don’t show the correct amount, charges take forever to actually reflect on accounts. Everything is moved around. I used to like the MyMoney tool where it would tell you how much you spent and on what with a little pie chart. The list goes on. I don’t understand why they changed something that didn’t need to be changed.
The app USED to have problems, but not since I got the app, and now with the new company facelift it’s basically brand new! The app provides convenient at home check deposits, account management, etc. Use it nearly every day!
When the app is up and working, I can access what I need to. Unfortunately, it is always having issues and I get the message “we are having trouble accessing your accounts right now”. I can access everything from my PC no problem but this app is constantly either down or having some kind of an issue which makes it useless to me. Very frustrating.
The new update makes this app so much more reliable and usable! More features and abilities similar to their online banking. You can do more on your phone now than the previous version of the app. Such a great update, catching up to the bigger guys!
I wish you could look up checks you wrote by name instead of number. I was looking to see when I last wrote a check to Wounded Warrior and had no of finding out this information. Other than that I find your app easy to use.
Northeast updated their app and it is like night to day! You can do credit analysis, nickname and group your accounts, place temporary holds on your cards, and so much more at the touch of a button. Not just easy to use, this app is SMART! Love it!
New colors since the switch from NECU to Lighthouse. I just can’t scroll down to see all my accounts. I can’t get down to see my checking account, which is irritating. Other than that, pretty simple to use.
Mobile deposit has some definite flaws. Often takes me 5-10 minutes to complete one deposit. The app kicks you out repeatedly when trying to take picture of the check, makes you log back in and start the process again. This has happened 5+ times in a row before finally working. Very frustrating.
app didn’t log me out after 6.5 hours when icon was not open
Hi, After making a couple attempts to log in at approx 6am today due to low cell signal I noticed when I just went to lighthouse icon to try again. When I clicked on the icon it opened up straight to my account without me needing to log in neither user nor password necessary. In other words seems there was ‘no timed out’
This is the worst banking app I have ever used. The process to simply pay a loan is convoluted. Linked accounts randomly unlink. Notifications are turned off by default, which in my opinion, is a disservice to the customer AND the bank. Let them opt-out if the want. In a era where a customer may never step into a branch, the mobile app needs to be way better than this.
I love this app! The design is really simple, making it very easy to navigate and use. I’m also so excited about myMoney, which is on the new app! However, now I no long have an excuse for going over budget!
I’ve used it for a few years now and haven’t had any issues. Definitely not as snazzy or efficient as some others but it actually works really well. You can do almost anything you would need pretty easily.
I have used this app daily throughout the year as I no longer live in Maine. I rely on the app to deposit money and check my balance. This past week I cannot get the app to open. I have deleted and reinstalled several times to no avail. So frustrating especially since I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years!
App worked reliably prior to April 2018 update, though it still lacked some features. However, with the April update, fingerprint recognition now resets after each logout, account view doesn’t load properly, and app crashes much more often. Either redesign or find an app developer that can release quality updates that don’t break a ‘good’ app.
Wicked fast website will make you happy at Lighthouse Credit Union. Well organized and easy to navigate makes it a pleasure to use. Well done! PeterB Long time Member- 😍
This update is terrible. I use the app primarily on my iPad connected to a Bluetooth Zagg keyboard- and I use it often. With the new update the screen will not auto-rotate to a horizontal display- it only stays vertical, like for a cell phone. Makes it extremely hard to use. Also, there is no way to access the Messages feature on the app, only available on the desktop. Awful.
Locked out can’t call they go home at 5:00 couldn’t get through this morning phone ridiculous wait time Only two days without access to my account Wish they would have attend there hours when they make big changes I guess I will be waiting another day to have access to my account
My review will stay at one star until this app works better than it ‘isn’t’ right now. I say ‘isn’t’ because my lovely, previously reliable app won’t even load!!! No other app on my current phone (new iPhone XS, with LOADS of space, it’s not that) or old phone come to think about it... None have previously had this issue, only your app. I used to love this app! D: I used it all the time, so convenient! Now? I can’t even check my balance! With the current problems I’ll give it 1 star. If I could, I would give a ‘zero’ to start with because that’s how much I’m getting out of this app! Until things change...
The new app looks cheap and childish especially with the color changes. The new layout is not user friendly. I used to be able to access my bank statements on the app and couldn’t when I needed to since it wasn’t where I previously used to look. Not happy with the new look
Directions for mobile deposit endorsement on the app are contrary to what bank wants. It still says NECU but needs to be Lighthouse Credit Union. Also, you need to hold phone perpendicular to the check to take a picture which is very awkward.
When I type a digit, the next digit I type deletes the first digit. This has been happening for a several months. My wife has a newer iPhone model and has no issue. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. No change. Deposit is the most frequent function I use on this app. Not sure why this began happening.
I used to be able to use the application to quickly check what the minimum payment on my cc is but not now, the application no longer tells you. What a brilliant idea guys..smh
This is a very frustrating site to use most of the time I can’t log in. Site keeps returning to advertising- or the log in automatically posts my log in name! And I need to wait hours to log in at a later time. Hope you can fix this
No issues with the app at this time. It was an easy transition with minimal interruption. Time will tell. Hopefully, it will exceed the efficiency of Norteast Credit Union App which was very unreliable.
This app has worked great for me up until a few days ago. Every time I try to log in it gives me a “service failure” message. I deleted and reinstalled the app and it worked for a day or so and I’m getting the same message again. I use this almost everyday so I’m not impressed that it’s not working! Please fix!
Hopeful the developers make the app landscape. It defeats using the app if every other app in my iPad works landscape and my banking doesn’t especially when I have the iPad in an enclosed case that sits landscape. Cmon fellas let’s get with the program.
When the app works it’s good but I can’t see any info on my credit card and what’s due or the due date and that needs improvement so I am not getting harassing calls because I missed my payment
The app works as intended, I wish they added the ability to ask Siri what balances are available for Touch ID and Face ID. Otherwise works pretty well.
New update and I can’t do mobile deposits anymore without getting a message that the check was previously deposited. You also always have 100 or so messages in the app that are useless and obscure any messages that might be important.
