Crashes on iOS!!! Still love the app tho

iOS 12.3.1 is the software I’m currently using and the app crashes out of the blue a lot and I’m using the app on my iPad Pro 11 inch with iOS 12.3.1 and on my iPhone XR running the same software! The only way to describe the crash is that it happens out of the blue I could launch the app and it runs fine for a few minutes and then it just crashes and kicks me back to the home screen and then sometimes I’ll open the app pull up a chart and try to switch between the different time frames and it will crash! Please fix this I do most of my trades from my mobile devices and I love the oanda app but the random crashes Haagen got to go thanks in advance!!!

Great app,

Great app, more convenient that what I’ve seen except FXCM that is no longer available in US. Love the ability to hide the rates or the account activity window on the left. Also love the free floating readjustable movable charts. One frustration tho, I organize my charts in order by the pair names into double columns. But when I close the app, it scatters the pair all over, it does keep the two column structure. Please fix this. Also love the ability of visually setting the order and stop loss and take profit right on the chart👍. Very pleased with the design, love the platforms colors. Oh one on other thing, I use this on iPad Pro 2020, on when the charts are expanded to full screen it’s difficult to change the time frame when it’s around 30-4h it’s difficult to activate the scrolling since it has that dock bar overlapping it. Please come up with some kind of fix for that but don’t change the actual manner the time frame is changed, I really like this slider compared to drop down menu on other platforms. Also there would be a lot more data displayed, it only displays couple months of data on 4H, wish it was at least half to a year. Also would love to see an ability to create custom colors on the charts and drawings instead of just fixed preset colors. Eager to see feature improvements. Keep up good work.

Was good but now glitchy

I love Oanda but this is a quick view of my recent experience; From day one back in January of 2017 when I downloaded the app after a couple of months of searching for the best broker that fit my wants and needs, account size and most importantly a regulated broker, I have liked the ease and access to the Oanda platform. Trading went good with the platform but in the past two months I’ve noticed that some of my positions’ stop losses would deactivate while I was asleep... I haven’t caught it during the day but there’s been a few times, probably around 4 or 5ish times, where after waking at 3:45am and quickly checking the charts before the London open, I see that price action is passed my stop loss. Another one happened last night where I entered short and had a comfortable sl at 60 pips but after waking up this morning and seeing that my trade had closed and pa hasn’t been anywhere near my sl.., this makes me VERY suspicious!

Practice accounts don’t work

Tried to create a demo account at least 5 or 6 times. Each time it just loads and gives zero confirmation that the account was created. No email. Nothing. Then one of them allowed me to get into the dashboard on the website and when I tried to actually log into the practice account part (it required another login) it didn’t work. Access is denied. It happens no matter what platform I go on. I must have made like 5 or 6 account password combinations. Each one has my same phone number so I don’t know why it isn’t working. I thought it could’ve been because I made an account during maintenance hours (which there was zero indicator of for a first time user, that it was even happening in the first place). Now nothing works. Tried calling the hotline. Said it was 24/7 but that the lines were down. So I’m really disappointed with this app and service altogether because the sign up part seems to be a mess. I submitted all my info and they gave me nothing in return. So you actually walk away feeling robbed. I tried to reset my cookies and even that didn’t work. Tried different browsers. Tried phone and pc. Tried waiting it out 48 hrs. NOTHING. If there are down hours the app needs to do a better job at reflecting that to its users. I still would like to use this app but as of right now my experience with this is a 1 Star.

Take Profit Not Executing

I’ve been using this app for many years now. There are times randomly where my take profit will not execute. I’m watching it hit my target and not take the profit. The amount the trade should be listed for is inaccurate so if I close it at it’s current price I will lose money. Since it’s not reading the correct price at my take profit target I’m still losing money. Please fix this otherwise I will be taking my business to the competition. At the end of the day, this is about money, so I need to know I can trust Oanda. I don’t mind there being outages and issues, but send some kind of communication so as a consumer, trader, and investor, I know you have my best interests at heart. I would feel more comfortable knowing it’s a temporary issue than ongoing poor service, but if there is no communication you give me no other choice but to assume the worst. You guys have great potential, don’t short the consumers.

It does what it’s suppose to do

The app is good. However, the tools I have an issue with. For my trading style, the tools that I require are there but they are not customizable. For example, I use fib retracement very heavily. Unfortunately I cannot customize the fib to my way of use when I apply it. The only thing I’m able to do with it is change the color, but not remove lines that I don’t want to see in between. Also, the indicators that are there are useful buy not the ones I’m looking for. It needs to have Volume Average indicator. As a day trader, volume is important for me to show the average of a trade. Again, the app is good, but it can be great.

It’s.......ok

Overall I have to say that I like this app, it has indicators you can use to put on the chart and you can start and stop trades too. My complaints are that it’s glitchy a lot when it comes to modifying trades. If I’m not in an open trade I almost always have to cancel an order and reopen it again because it won’t modify the trade 9 times out of 10. This is super annoying when your at work and the app is the only thing you have access to to modify a trade with. Some of the indicators leave much to be desired and you can’t zoom in very well on the chart. Many times I’ve tried but the app just crashes. In the end I would say that it needs a lot of improvement but it’s not a horrible app either, it does what you need it to do most of the time with a few exceptions.

Cool Broker

This is one exceptional broker in the industry. Am still practicing but so far I like the platform. The mobile version is great but it doesn’t have a lot of charting tools. I will love to see an improvement in this regards. Otherwise I love how you can trade with any lot size I mean as low as anything but a zero. This for me, is great for beginners like me who are careful not to blow up my account in the event of a streak of losses. I will recommend Oanda to anyone who is looking for a broker with friendly features especially beginners in the Forex business.

Unwanted notifications and no options to configure

I now get unwanted notifications with irrelevant information. There appears to be no way to configure which notifications I receive. Well, I want to trade notifications, that doesn’t mean I want all other notifications the developers want to send me. It’s annoying to the point of turning off all notifications. At once I do that, then the app no longer serves my purposes. So I might as well delete the app. I tried to get support, but I was pushed to a chat bot that was completely useless. I don’t know why companies use these. It just makes the situation worse. I come with an issue that I can’t resolve on my own, or through documentation, which is already frustrating. And then find a chat bot that is even dumber. It makes things worse.

$20 Withdrawal Fee; Wire Transfer Only

Beware of the $20 withdrawal fee. If you deposit money into your Oanda account via Plaid using your U.S. bank account, you’ll be charged $20 withdrawal fee when you try to withdraw money. Also, this withdrawal is via wire-transfer, not ACH. So you’ll be charged an incoming wire-transfer fee by your U.S. based bank. Unless you deposited money into Oanda via debit card, you cannot withdraw funds via debit card. Moreover, if you fund your Oanda account via debit card and loose/replace your debit card, you’re in for lots of trouble because you can only withdraw money to your original debit card only. These are their hidden fees with absurd policies on withdrawal. Moving on to their competitors who have much relaxed and flexible policies. I am closing my account with Oanda. A very disappointing experience.

CAUTION!

Before using this app, please be aware that their withdrawal process is seriously flawed. The app DOES NOT allow you withdrawal your own funds. You have to go to the website to do that. To make matters worst, the website said that I didn’t have ANY funds in my account, which couldn’t be any further from the truth. It took almost a week for OANDA to perform a card payment reversal so that I could get my money back (this did not include the amount that I made from trades... that amount was locked in the account). They tried to get me to do a bank transfer which costs $20. This fee would be deducted from my earnings so I cut my losses and decided to never do business with this organization again. Trading in this app is not worth the headache.

No professional company👎

Do you really consider yourself a serious company?🤦🏻 No one works for you, no one knows anything, they laugh on the phone, they hang up when I ask questions. district and your financial company, along with your utopian staff in a push - do not shame the financial world. And I ask you to delete my account or tell me, step by step, how I can do it myself I ended up never making a deposit. They have been ignoring checking letters with my address for over a month. Lack of staff, as such. I especially liked that this company asked me to show them the check for gasoline, where my address will be. If someone around me is interested in Oanda, I would gladly cool off that person's mind by pointing out the amazingly stupid and unprofessional work of your company! Oanda👎

Good On Desktop, Needs Improvement On IOS

Was using the demo on my desktop and it was 10/10. Upon trying the Mobile version; iOS, downloaded perfectly fine but when trying to log in screen just freezes and doesn’t let me type in the email/password fields. Would love to use the Mobile version but unfortunately it’s having issues. If it’s possible to find a solution to the Mobile situation, 5 stars all the way.

Feel stolen from

Put $100 in but through ACH because it wouldn’t verify my card (because my card number and name were on the same side but their system is old and didn’t account for new cards). It finally did verify my card. When I went to withdraw my $100 it then informed me in little hard to read gray writing at the end of a long paragraph that you can only remove funds with the same method you added them. Well there is no “reverse” ACH and it would not let me use my card which means I had to do a wire transfer fee which costs $20. So now for no reason at all but a technicality, my $100 became $80. All this and they had the nerve to ask me if I “like the new way to withdraw funds?” Absolutely not. Frauds.

FxTrade is the platform for currency trading on iOS

Love this platform, never have any lag issues. The app performs very smooth. I quit trading from my laptop just because of this app. It’s really awesome. But there is a catch, there is not a large amount of indicators available. They are very basic in that field. There’s is a good selection of different chart types to pick from which is nice, except they don’t have Renko :( I love the simplicity and ease of use. I am a minimal price action trader so this app performs perfectly for me. I prefer it over TradingView and MT4

Oanda’s iPhone App

Basically the chart only moves left to right. Up and down is unavailable very annoying because when you want to edit it’s impossible. I want to position the current candle or current price in the middle of the screen; up/down and left/right ... which you can not do????? Then edit my position. There are other annoying issues but this is the most annoying.

Worst Trading Platform

I would recommend that you stay away from Oanda. I started using this trading platform because a member of my trading group was asking about it. The spreads on the platform are greater than others that I've used. It triggers stop-loss far before the currency pair reaches the level. In addition, customer service is horrendous. You get redirected multiple times because no one is trained to help with a simple problem. When you do speak to a supervisor, they would make promises that they will not keep. Out of the four other platforms that I've used, this is by far the worst. Also, fun fact, you cannot withdraw funds on the mobile app. They're probably trying to restrict the ease for people to leave the application.

Quality App

The application has worked well for me this far and I like the interface that allows for floating charts and easily setting take profit/loss. There does seem to be an issue with the notifications as I signed up for market updates and price alerts and I didn’t get the notification. However, I do receive the notification for when a trade/order is closed.. Overall very well constructed.

Price signals, missing drawings, quotes freezes issues

With the latest update, the price signal alert is visible but not audible. Also, all of my drawings were erased. 🙁The quotes in the upper left corner of the chart freezes for long periods of time although you can see the rate updates along the ‘y’ axis. This issue started about a week ago (prior) to the update. I am happy to see that the profit target notifications are once again audible. Aside from these issues all seems to be well with the latest update.

Great charts, but...

I logged in and I only get the technical charts, but not the main platform. I had trendlines drawn and those are all gone now. All the currency pairs I had set up are back to the way they originally were. The charts are amazing and the best I have ever seen. On the web I can set up technical charts on the main platform, but in the app they are a separate page. The app needs to be just like the web page. I do not know why they did, but they need to make it just like the web page. Annoying.

Add more features !! Great app !!

I like this app very much... been using it for about 2 years .... I would like to see the daily highs and lows for each pair incorporated somewhere (FXCM is able to accomplish) also ....app tends to drag or delay when changing time frames... While viewing the chart ...I would like to be able to select which price line to view.....bid or ask ..currently it’s an average of both. The colors and graphics are nice ... great job

Glitchy, and overall a huge inconvenience!

I have been trying to open my live trading account for about a month, forget trying to get immediate assistance! While uploading all the necessary documents, I would always get an email reply back 2-3 days later with another problem, something else they require. This is the worst experience! And while practicing on demo, several times I will notice it will automatically log me out in mid trade! Thank God it wasn’t my actual live trading! To this day, I still haven’t been able to apply funds into my account, I’m leaving this platform and company and trying another!

iPad version needs same capabilities as IPhone

The app is good and quick, however the iPad version lacks some of the features that the iPhone version has. For instance, on the iPhone you can make chart backgrounds either black or white, but on the iPad you only have the option to have the chart background black. It’s the little things that count.

Excellent app!

Oanda's entire trading system is very solid, and it's great to be able to manage things when I'm away from my computer. My biggest complaint is that in the iPad version, the controls are horribly unintuitive. You can’t just switch what pair you are viewing. They tried to get cute with a scrolling dashboard of charts, and it is very difficult to manage. Also the tap targets are poorly placed at the edge of the screen so certain things are nigh unusable on the iPad Pro.

Top of the line. Please add price alerts

After trying Thinkorswim, MT4 and TradingView, I use the Advanced Charting provided by OANDA in all my tradings. OANDA provides the same clean platform available in TradingView without any subscription limitations. The only recommendation to ONDA developers is to keep the price alert feature across all mobile devices. At this point, price alerts are only available in the app for the iPhone. Thanks in advance.

Good, but it could be a lot better

I use TradingView for charting and then use my brokers app for placing the trade so I don’t use this app to look at a chart but, is not a bad app it could be a lot better, for example: I can’t move the chart in my desire direction I just can moving backwards and forward or from far I can bring it closer they definitely need to put in the app if you want to move it UP or DOWN that’s very necessary.

Interface is kindergarten, order execution is horrible.

The interface is outdated, and order execution is horrible. If I set a take profit, I shouldn’t have to manually close my order cause my broker won’t close. The only things I like about Oanda compared to IG is that they are partners with TradingView (who has a way better interface), and it’s easier for someone working with a smaller account to make profit and withdraw funds. IG forces you to be a rat on a wheel for them, having to constantly trade because their minimum withdraw amount is so high for a beginner/person working with small account. You won’t really ever be able to make profit with IG.

Quite Good

I have had a good experience using this app on both iPad and iPhone. I’m using a relatively old iPad so it’s a bit slow but that’s to be expected on an app requiring the sort of processing this app most certainly does. On iPhone no issues at all. Not a substitute for a desktop environment, but great for monitoring in the background or on the go.

App Doesn’t Allow Money Withdrawal

I have searched this app top and bottom and have yet to find a way for the user to be able to withdraw money from the trading account. This may just be a problem with iOS or the mobile app but I’m not sure because I only use this app on my phone (iPhone XR). There is only an option to “Fund” your account but if you have a very successful trade you will not be able to withdraw any money. This is a big issue but it’s the only issue I have with this app.

Very good but could use a little fine tuning

The app is great. Most of the features are well thought out. Please add the ability to change font sizes. And also please add the option to turn off all the flashing updates on prices. The constant flashing is like being in a casino. All this does is tempts people to buy and sell. It just creates FOMO. It would be fantastic if there was a way to eliminate all the flashing casino lights.

Good app

So far I like the app, compared to others like it it’s awesome. However it doesn’t sync all my favorites list and puts random ones in that shouldn’t be there and that’s a bit annoying. It would be awesome if it would sync the drawing tools but I know that’s probably a challenge. Overall it’s great and hopefully they can dial in the favorites list issue in the future.

Love this platform

It is a great platform, but sometimes I have to reload it because it becomes blank. Sometimes when I reload it it won’t open. I have to close it and open it again. This issue makes me loose track of scalping transactions. Please take a note of this issue and try to fix it. I use the web. Thank you!

Signing out

I love the app! Works really well, I can track my trades very easily and it is really quick and smooth to add funds! My only issue with the app though minor but still annoys me is when I logout the app it always try to sign me back in, and when I click cancel it takes me right back to the login screen instead of exiting the app entirely.

Ach process a nightmare. Debit card deposit doesn’t work

The process of depositing funds has been a nightmare. First of all can’t use debit card to instantly deposit because my banks (bigs ones such as Schwab and BofA) would just decline Oanda as a merchant right away. The 50% instant deposit for ach didn’t work. It takes full 6 business days to ach when other places are more like 3 days. Overall Oanda has the worst experience than other brokerages I use. Don’t recommend.

PRICE ALERTS AND SIGNALS

When you set a price alert it should give you a sound alert - not a muted screen alert. How can you be notified of your alert with no sound if your phone is off or if it is set aside !! you won’t even know you got the price alert!! Please fix this price alert function for SOUND ALERTS!

Has a learning curve but nice features

The ability to set price signals and alerts helps me trend to other things and take action when my pre-determined conditions are met. Learning curve on how to apply and use overlays and indicators took a while but after you learn how to do it, no issues moving forward.

Waste of time

Completely wasted an hour of my time trying to create an account. I kept trying to verify my SoFi bank account through Plaid and manually, but Oanda kept telling me they don’t recognize it. They also couldn’t recognize my debit card. So I went to the website to try sorting it out there and it just kept asking me what country my bank account is from. It wouldn’t let me get past that. I’m annoyed to the point I just had to delete the app and look for a different broker.

Experience with fxTrade

Have used it on iPhone and iPad for 2 years and like it very much! It is convenient and easy to use to set trades. I like the following functions: * Setting line signals and receiving alerts when a price is reached by a given pair. * Setting trades and profit targets. * Receiving alert when order is filled AND when it hits the profit target. Desired enhancements: * Show the price for price signal alerts. * On iPad, seems I’ve lost ability to set line signal alerts as it worked previously. Not sure what changed. I can set them on my iPhone and receive on both iPhone and iPad.

Fantastically simple yet complete currency trading app.

Have been trading currencies with Oanda for a couple of years now using the Oanda app. It has all the needed features and is very intuitive and fast. Oanda has proven to be highly reliable and problem free. I highly recommend Oanda!

So far, so good...except...

This app has everything I need. The charts, the ease of making and modifying trades, setting trailing stops, default trade settings...I like it all. But I’m still learning and the demo acct doesn’t keep a running total of profits/losses. It just always shows the max starting balance. As a new trader, it would be extremely beneficial to have a fully function demo acct.

Love the price alerts!

I really like this app for price alerts and limit and stop entrys;) But I didn't like how it's kinda hard to use and it’s buggy please update this for iOS 11 and iPhone X please! I want it be able to add a entry order straight from the chart and I can type in the price point and see where your entry and stop and limits are. Thank you

Unreliable, but has lots of potential

This would be my goto trading app but the app is so unreliable. It buffers too much, it freezes too much, and I end up having to close it in frustration. This ruins entries and exists when you’re watching the charts. That alone ruins the experience. There are trading apps that work just fine so I don’t understand why Oanda lets these issues fly. Just for this I won’t be on the app for trading at all.

Would’ve been 5 star easily

I would rate 5 star if there was an option to click on currency pairs and take you directly to the chart instead of having to search for the pair in the search bar

Oanda delivers.

Many times I’ll place a trade on my laptop/notebook, walk away and keep track of it through their app. Their app has successfully kept me in the green when I see the need to exit out of my positions. Can’t wait to see what Oanda has in store as time goes along. Great job Oanda team!

Reliable and Easy to Use

I have been using this app for more than 4 years and over that time each update has only made the app better and easier to use. I have tried other platforms but always return to OANDA for their mobile experience.

Not much development

Cannot alert you when price reach certain level. This is basic feature on all trading platforms but not available with Oanda. Forces clients to have to set buy or sell triggers. Pretty much priority is for clients to trade as much as possible and the least priority is placed on informing clients.

Ease of use is wonderful

I have been using this platform for almost 3 years and have no complaints. The interface is intuitive and I believe the spreads are fair. I recommend this platform for anyone venturing into the forex market.

Its almoust perfect

Beautiful graphics!!! Love the news tab and graphics etc... What it jeeps me going back to use MT5 is that there are some feature that in a mobile version can have impruvment. Fibunnaci tool dont show the numbers in the graphics, just line. If im in the portfolio area, it will be good if I can just clic the trade and go directly to the chart. But it does not give you that option. Its not usefull to see the trade in portfolio and just go back to a diffrent tab and write the name of the chart to start making adjustment. I like it a lot, visually but this characteristics that MT5 have, that makes it usefull and practical makes me go back and do my trading there.

Worse Company

I made my Live account weeks ago and even set up my bank access and reached out to customer service multiple times and never got help my account still hasn’t let me deposit money . I could have been trading already with another company I wouldn’t suggest this app to anyone they said it takes 2-3 day to set up it’s been three weeks for me as of today and it’s still not set up . I’m getting a new company this morning .
