Still not able to play on Mobile
I have been playing OSRS since I was a teenager playing on my older sisters computer. I used to play with my friend Ryan and created so many memories and friends. Sadly I haven’t heard from him in years and lost the accounts that I had but OSRS is one of those games you just keep coming back to regardless. No matter how long I am away from this game I always end up coming back which brings me to the next half of this review.. This game is just all around enjoyable and I hardly have ever had any complaints. Except for this: I just hate that for months now I haven’t been able to open the app on mobile (IPhone 11) whatsoever. No matter where I am I get a “connection error” and even tried re-installing 2x but nothing. I can play on my PC fine but I work away from home for 20 days out of the month and I don’t come home until after those 20 days are over. It used to work fine until a certain update came out (no idea which one) and then later it was apparently fixed from what I’ve seen since other players posted reviews about playing on mobile. I’ve tried VPNs and that seems to work at least until the trial runs out but I’m not gonna pay for subscriptions to VPNs when I already pay for an OSRS membership every month. That’s another thing I’m paying for the membership and have been for years and I can’t even make it worth it anymore. I just miss the game and have been itching to play it lately when I have free time..

Love it 12 out of 10
As a veteran from prior to 07, I love it. Most of us vets are the ones that demanded that they brought back game we loved before they tried to turn RuneScape into like world of Warcraft or some other recent mmorpg. Also for those of you that have limited high speed, this game runs smooth on 2g after ya drained all ya 3g,4g, and or lte doing god knows what else. Noticed this while trying a few other games that would run poorly after they drained my data ( ex Diablo immortal release was massive data killer for me haha) I’m an avid gamer. Hope ya don’t mind me mentioning other games, because like others keep saying, this is a childhood favorite an can’t stop from coming back an creating a million different accounts every update to try and find a better, more efficient way to train. As of now, can’t wait for you guys to finish mobile beta cause the mobile chat glitch is still annoying. If anyone still has that issue, either hop worlds or fumble around tabs on both sides until it gives ya options to toggle through chat tabs an it will eventually let ya type after a little frustration an work. Forcing ppl to log after 6 hours is great bot buster but god they keep getting creative with bot scripts. Still see bots but less prominent than what I have seen throughout the years. I’d love to see randoms attack players again. Miss that evil chicken terrorizing skillers and bots XD

Best mobile game ever
I have played Runescape on and off since I was a teenager(28 now). I always loved the game, but couldn’t play as much as I wanted since I have had kids now. I loved when they brought out osrs because that was the game I fell in love with. I play when I can and work on grinding here and there, but this coming out on mobile is the best thing that could have happened for me now as an adult. It is the full game just as it is on PC and it’s the same character I have on PC. I can log in on either device. The mobile game controls really well. I wasn’t sure about the camera controls at first, but you can adjust the look speed and slowing it down made things feel better for me. I like that they have the screen control options on the left side allowing you to one-tap or always right click as it is on PC or tap to drop. This makes it to where I am pretty comfortable doing almost anything in the game from my phone. I don’t think I would do PKing on mobile, but I was never much of a PKer anyway. I have done quests, trained Melee, magic, done farm and birdhouse runs and had no trouble with any of it. Being able to play this game from my phone anytime I want is amazing. It’s even better on my iPad. The 1 star reviews I have seen are nonsense. People who don’t understand the game and get mad way too easy. From someone who has played osrs for years and understands the game this is really great on mobile.

Long time RS player
I’ve been playing runescape since the early 2000’s, I’ve really enjoyed watching Jagex expand and improve the game. As an organization I put them in the top 3 developers worldwide in terms of commitment to keeping the majority of the game free to play, respecting the players, and avoiding the ever-encroaching practices of embedding adds, adding energy to play, gacha nonsense, you know the types I’m referring to. At this point the only problem I have with the old school rs app is bots. Bots bots bots. They’re everywhere. Their usernames usually consist of two words plus a series of numbers 3 or 4 characters long. I picked up the mobile app again after a break, and in the multiple weeks I’ve seen a ratio of bots to real players that’s got to be 10 to 1 conservatively. To be fair, I intentionally play on low pop servers to prevent lag, so they may just be using those worlds more. I report as many as I can, I have no clue if it makes a difference, it probably doesn’t. I don’t know what can be done, and realistically it doesn’t have a major impact my character or development, but I loathe cheating, and it makes it feel like my achievements within the game are lessened, especially given that these bots exist to make real world money for other people by allowing others to buy their way through the game. Despite that, please get the game, get RS3, support James, they are both wonderful games, and Jagex deserves all the accolades they’ve received and more.

Just pure joy!
So I’ve been playing RuneScape since I was just a little kid (12 or 13 years old back when RuneScape 2 was just released) and I took a break when the updates happened that took away free trade and the wilderness. But I started back up when osrs was released. I’m now 28 years old and I play every single moment I get the chance and it’s all thanks to this mobile app that I can even do that. I don’t have time at home to play on the computer because I am raising my daughter ( just a newborn baby). The mobile app is the best thing to me. Now I have an account that I have had for about 4 years now and have 97 ranged and 92 magic and am getting into the pking scene for the first time In my life. ( a life long dream of mine was to learn to pk, but I was never able to make it happen) I have more fun playing RuneScape now than I have ever had before. I had no idea that was even possible given how much fun I used to have as a kid. Thank you Jagex, thank you so much. You guys make my life so much better. I am now almost 3 years sober and osrs is a big part of what helps me keep my mind away from my demons. Along with a healthy lifestyle and the support of my friends and family. So you guys have helped me more than you know. And I think that this whole RuneScape experience is something I will never forget. Here’s to the future of RuneScape!

A large amount of the bad reviews are uninformed
After looking through about a hundred of the 1 star reviews i saw that a very large percentage of them were people upset about the progress of their characters they made a decade ago not transferring over. What they don’t understand is that jagex re-released oldschool runescape in 2013 and everybody needed to start from the beginning if they wanted to play. Their old accounts are still available to them on the “main” game. This is the oldschool version and the reason they are upset does not at all reflect the quality of this app. Oldschool runescape is a fantastic game which has been massively growing since its birth in 2013. Against all odds the outdated graphics and grindy gameplay has thrived in this generation of video games which are typically the opposite. If you’re looking for a mobile game with flashy graphics and an instant gratification gameplay loop giving you rewards every 15 seconds to keep you interested and offering you the ability to skip the gameplay for small amounts of real life money, then this isn’t the game for you. It is old runescape (the pinnacle of last generation MMOs) in all of its glory. Oldschool runescape has the best gaming community out there and is run by an extremely dedicated developer team who update the game almost 100% based on player feedback. Anybody who hasn’t given it a try is very much missing out.

Nostalgia at its finest
I started my RuneScape journey playing RuneScape classic with my older brother and some of his friends until the release of Rs2 “OSRS” the goat of my childhood gaming! I played for several years still to young at the time to truly enjoy or understand the game but still had some of my greatest gaming memories bank sitting skilling or doing low lvl pvm. I was an avid player until school and life caught up to me and I gradually stopped playing shortly before the release of rs3. I have now since returned to the game shortly after mobile release and played on my phone exclusively for about a year in f2p leveling and getting ready for p2p content. I presently have a sizable bank and only have two quests left till I get the coveted quest point cape this game gets knocked on a lot but I truly believe it’s by players who don’t understand the game or have never been really good at it. RuneScape is not for everyone the community has its ups and downs bots run rampant in f2p and p2p alike but the games hardships aren’t any different then any game similar and all the negative aside it has brought millions of people together made life long friendships and even nurtured love leading to irl marriages and families with all that said if you don’t mind having to earn your way and aren’t opposed to a grind RuneScape in any form is for you.

A Disappointment with RuneScape
I am new to OSRS and I am giving my first opinions about the game.(Don’t know if my opinion will change later on or not) Transportation,Traveling, or Maneuvering around in Old School RuneScape is unbearable. I have 100 points of agility to start off with and the depletion rate is quite quick to where I can’t travel around Lumbridge or other neighboring towns without walking majority of the time. It makes me not want to travel to different locations and check out things that are off the beaten path because I have to walk to those locations and walking is slow. It doesn’t incentivize you to explore but rather follow paths of other players before you so you can have the most fun while being rewarded. I believe that the only skill that I would love to be free-to-play is agility since it’s the only one that seems to fundamental to a character’s exploration and in a large mmorpg that is an important feature to the game. I don’t care if it’s grindy like the other skills in the game I just want to be able to have a better time with exploration. I know later on with a high magic skill there are teleports that open up but agility being locked behind a monthly paywall is such a terrible decision for transportation around the world of Gielinor. My final thoughts are this game seems to have a great community and I cannot wait to interact with more people and have fun playing in the future. Have A Nice Day! Toodles

Ignore the poor reviews
1) Ignore all the poor reviews giving to this game. Especially JaredL42 guy. If you’re an old player coming back, don’t expect to have you old account saved. OSRS evolved over the years to what is now known as RuneScape3 (RS3) that’s where your old account is. Due to high demand of bringing back the old school RuneScape. Jaggex had to Re-create separate game (osrs) for the community to try save the player base. People were happy OSRS was back and that’s what they prefer to play while others enjoy playing RS3. So there for you have to start over for OSRS while your old account is still in RS3. Stop complaining and don’t listen to those whining spoil kids. 2) If you’re a veteran or returning player this is an awesome app! Great way to AFK training or even to kill time. There’s definitely things you wouldn’t want to do on mobile like PK’ing or maybe even raising against hard bosses. Just because it’s a little harder on mobile. 3) if you’re a new player this may take time to get use to, I’ll recommend to try the full experience on PC for you to get the full feel of the game then come to mobile. Because I do see mobile more beneficial to veteran players. Don’t get frustrated with the game, it’s an mmorpg there’s so much to do in this game and it takes time to learn. Overall I’m very happy with the work they have done!!

Brilliant
Just like the title says this is brilliant. Not only is it the full game and it plays and runs very well on my iPhone 8 it is just such a joy to come back to the game that as a teenager I spent so many hours in I can’t even count. I was worried this game would eventually die out, it makes sense because much of its original player base has matured and now have jobs and many more responsibilities in life than they did previously so if was natural to see the player base decline, with the launch of mobile I was laughing to see so many old and new players back and finding myself right down back nostalgia lanes. That being said now that this game is on mobile I am super happy to know I will be able to play this whenever I want and literally wherever I want, I probably wouldn’t recommend however doing anything much more than light grinding on your phone or tablet as the control scheme is good but slower on a touch screen for obvious reasons so I don’t see myself PKing anytime soon in my phone but I do see myself grinding away at other skills to my hearts content. All in all well done Jagex you found another way to innovate on your game and you did it properly this app is great given it isn’t a botched version of the game at all. Well done 5/5

Fantastic Game!, Completely Mobile Friendly Port (10 Yr Vet.)
OldSchool Runescape is a fantastic mmorpg, that on the surface may seem like a grab at your nostalgia cords, but truly, this game is a fully supported and developed MMORPG with a thriving community and dedicated developers who are constantly listening to the community (through twitter, reddit, weekly Q&As). The addition of 95% of content is polled in-game from very minor balancing changes, to the addition of completely new areas. Overall, OSRS is a fantastic game of progression and grind that is very fulfilling at all stages of the game. Mobile is the culmination of the dedication of Jagex to constantly create a quality product that is not just a poor attempt at taking our money. This COMPLETELY FREE port allows you to take control of the same character that you can access on PC with literally the same ease of play as PC. The mobile version does not suffer with mobile controls, where many other mobile games do and the interface works fantastically and is not OP nor is it impossible to use. I was able to kill Zulrah, KBD, KQ, all GWs bosses and complete a handfull of difficult quests all on mobile without any struggle. Jagex has really outdone themselves and any person should give this game a try. GL and HF!

Very impressive
Hi, I’m a long time player of runescape and an active player of old school and I just wanted to say that I am very impressed by how easy it is to use this app. The tap response is pretty good and the interface is extremely easy to use. Features like the tap to drop and filtered spell book we’re also amazing additions that make mobile a viable option for game play. If you’re wondering why I gave it 4 stars, it’s because of the fact that this app does not refresh in the background for IOS like it does for other types of phones. This means if you lock your screen or even go to look something up, you will lose connection to the app which can get a little annoying. Other than that the only other thing I could complain about is the fact that sometimes I have a hard time dragging items to different position in my inventory or bank because the placement of the item needs to be right on the spot. This isn’t really much of a big deal and doesn’t effect gameplay at all really, I just think it’s something that could be tweaked. All in all very good app, I would have given it 4.5 if I was allowed to but if it’s made so that you can look up things on the ge webpage or wiki without disconnecting you, I would definitely come back and rate it 5 stars.

Love game but service is wrong
I have been playing this game since middle school. I love the game. It’s definitely my favorite game but customer service isn’t the best. Their response times are good but they cannot be very helpful. I lost my pet that I had for 60 seconds due to a service connection issue and they reset the world so I lost my Hydra pet I looked up the last item thing on their website and it said in rare cases we may return it if it’s related to a technical issue I email customer support and then they tell me check out our policy. We cannot return it but it says right on their policy that they can return it and rare situation. If it was related to a technical issue I think this is completely wrong seeing as how I pay for a membership and you guys missed your system up and now I cannot get my item back due to an issue that you guys causes if I lost it getting scammed or I didn’t have proof it would be one thing, but I got the screenshots that I got the pet and that it’s gone because of and update/roll back… you guys having to roll back the system is not my fault. If you guys can contact me on my email. I’m sure you guys have it iMessage to support center so you can reach me there you guys could prolly even roll my account back to where I got the pet I have all this proof and it’s still not good enough if you don’t honor your word in rare cases of a server issue you can issue an item back 🤔

Game Center login? Good luck logging in on desktop.
I’ve been playing a long time on and off. Was there for when they wiped our accounts as they rereleased osrs. I get it. I get it. Got hooked playing the mobile version using my game center log in. I own a Mac book, you’d think they connect seamlessly in 2023. You’re dead wrong. In the app it has a tab, (which Jagex outdated help center gives you pictures of things you can’t do.) you click the inbox in the tab, it’s supposed to send you to a link to upgrade to a jagex account. It will repeat that it can’t do anything with the link on that platform. (The mobile phone) Well. I’ve messed around with it for two days on my Mac book. I’m very tech savvy. A lot of time later and two of these wack Jagex accounts later, I’ve clicked everything on that help site at least 3 times. This account I have is glued to Game Center on IOS and that’s just it and there’s no changing it. Any efforts to contact Jagex, never a point blank. Another link in an endless circle. Great idea on paper, even fun on the phone! Go to switch from playing on some of the most used cell phones in America (iPhone) to a Mac book , can’t happen. Where the experience itself began on the computer. It’s ironic. Don’t waste your money on your mobile account. Enjoy it for what it is. I’ve seen that my complaint here has existed for years. They aren’t going to change it. Enjoy the money Jag.

Ohhh runescape
Well this is pretty incredible, I started playing runescape when I was almost 9 years old. It gave me something to do at the boys and girls club while my parents worked. I played until I was about 14 non stop, and then it started to get loads of weird updates. I think a lot of stuff was cool, but it became to much to handle when I wouldn't play for a few months and I would come back to sooooo much wired stuff. I give this app 5 stars because for what jagex offers with runescape you could literally play this game for years for free, or like 7$ a month to be a member or something. I was a member most of my runescape life. I really wish that jagex could have somehow transferred my 14 year old character over to the old school runescape and just deleted all of the updated gear on that account, of course there should be a voucher stating that :WARNING if you accept to this you will loose all gear associated with runsescape after a certain date. And I would have been fine with that. I really miss good old fashioned runescape with my friends just grinding away XP to lvl up. I guess I will be waiting for RS3 :(. There's really no point for me to restart a character I put long long nights into for years.

Long standing player
I have played RuneScape since i was pretty young. All the way through school, up to now. I’ve had several accounts, and was extremely excited about the new OSRS platform. I had taken a several year hiatus due to not having the time, and started playing again earlier this year, in the new OSRS servers, as my main, and original account had been grandfathered into RS3😢. No worries. Well, i started to get busy again, and had to take another break, but with the mobile platforms release i began playing again. Doing AFK tasks, such as woodcutting, or mining, or general GE trades. However, i played exclusively on mobile. With this being said, with 2 weeks i was permabanned for “Macroing Major”. I wasn’t botting, and the last time i had played i had poor signal, so i quit trying to play due to my lagging. Well, i did reasearch and went through the appeal process, which was denied, due to them believing that i was botting still. I have reached out to mods, and tried to find a person to talk to, to see about other options, and received no feedback, and no help. I’ve had this account for 12+ years, and was only banned for gameplay on the old funorb website, when i was much younger. Hopefully this review gets someone’s attention and i can possibly email someone, and actually discuss this issue with someone, as a long time consumer and lover of RuneScape.

The perfect mobile game.
First and foremost: no microtransactions! This is a proper red herring in modern times, to say the least. It allows players to truly enjoy the game as... well, a game. Moreover, OSRS mobile is everything I could have hoped from a mobile RPG. You have to build and develop your character through acquisition of skills and truly have to interact with the community to get the most out of your experience (and character). The presence of a community is one of the most refreshing parts of OSRS in comparison to other MMOs — that and a true feeling of difficulty and accomplishment when you finish your goals. That, in my opinion, is what makes OSRS a truly remarkable game. You set your own goals — yes, this is technically true of all games, but the manner in which it is presented in OSRS makes you, the player, feel as if you are the one in control instead of the game. On top of this, the care with which the game world has been crafted and the joy of completing the numerous quests (which are not all your standard fetch/kill quests) makes OSRS truly a joy to play. Especially since they have managed to keep the game true to its spirit — at least for as much as I can remember from over a decade ago!

It would’ve done 5 stars but…
I think that rs is a great game and I was happy when it came to mobile i have been playing it for a long time now and I think it’s great the quests are fun and challenging the people are nice (most of them) and it’s really just fun and entertaining and it would’ve been 5 stars until they added a membership I feel like this game that is so old and is still fun and just as good as it was 30 years ago which is crazy most games from 30 years ago nobody plays but osrs is still going strong even in 2024 and I don’t think you should have to have a membership to enjoy everything the game has to offer I get having a membership for some quests and maybe if you have it you get some rewards every month and special news about what is coming into osrs but I don't think that if you don’t have a membership you can’t do most of the game unless you pay for a membership like you can go to Varrock lumbridge Al kharid and a section of karamja and that’s basically it so devs please let the game have more to offer to people on the free version you shouldn’t have to pay for this great of a game that many people play ands been around for 30 years it aged greatly

Blown away and satisfied
Finally a really fun, populated pocket cross-play MMO. downloaded this first on mobile and had tons of fun, I actually hopped on the computer and bought the membership ... I was blown away by how much there was. now i’m addicted and made cool and really chill friends since i’ve played. The graphics are cool retro-modern looking, like it’s n64 but if you touched it up with detail. The game is very simple to play, you press were you go and you’re not bombarded with instructions, for example; you just press goblin, you attack, you have net and you press water, you fish, you have axe and press tree, you cut wood. I was also surprised the amount of skills you can do in this game, there is a skill for thieving I really like, you can pickpocket any npc in the game for money. I will say the only problem I have with this game is the economy, i did not expect to come trying to figure out how to make money to trade with other players to buy yourself better items or equipment for leveling up faster, you have to exert yourself a dedicated skill to make money, and you have to do it on your own or be really lucky to have found either a good monster drop or treasure chests.

Extremely disappointed and unsatisfied.
I’m a long time player and you’ve heard this a million times I know. With one search for jagex support you are led to the lowest rated support line/team of any mainstream game ever. I’m truly saddened for how low this company has gone, flat out refusing to let ANYONE defend their case under any circumstances if they deem you wrong, even without any warning or evidence to back up their claims. What this game has done is take a long time costumer that has supported them in every way for many years, and told me to shove it. In their words “we thoroughly review the account to make sure the owner is responsible”. The month that the ban took place was in June 2019 and I ended my subscription in May 2019 because I didn’t play at the time. I tried to come back in September 2019 just to play around or do some slayer just to find out I was permanently banned for “real world training”. I understand at the bare bottom of this, it’s just a game, but I put in years of time and money to enjoy this game they made. To be cut off so blatantly and with zero means to plead my case, even after many many honest years of support. That’s wrong, and I’m sure no one will respond to this because of the type of ban they gave me. It’s truly sad to see how far this game has fallen. I would have never wanted it to crash and burn, but it looks like the developers are going to make that happen anyways.

Great to see this game come back to life
I played this game 4 years ago. And while I didn’t hate the changes in the new RS game I hated seeing the playerbase slowly die out as well as how easy it was to get lost in all of the undercooked developments. Bringing old RS allows us to return to the roots of the game. That being said, clan leading and community-building is one area that inspired lots of active growth, especially for me. I would love to see elements of the current clan system carry over as it could honestly be a game of its own trying to balance leveling, questing, and community building. I hope that the old RS team will work to bring us together, as that’s what made this game amazing for much of my time playing. Also, please expand polls to more than just p2p!! At the least make it where a certain amount of total level or time played can earn you polling power(even if maybe your vote is worth less). F2P has always had just as big an impact on RS and even if the team doesn’t see any money from us it’s letting us know you want our thoughts that makes us decide to switch to p2p. This game has already brought so many players back. Now ya’ll need to give us a reason to stay! And thank you so much for making this mobile!

15 year RuneScape veteran I love this app!
I have been playing RuneScape on and off since 2005 and the older I get the less free time I have to play. Enter RuneScape mobile. This app is perfect for grinding skills throughout the day a few minutes or even hours at a time leaving my limited PC time for more complex activities like bossing. The game loads very quickly, runs well and is surprisingly easy to use given how much contrent is squeezed onto a small phone screen. If you have not played RuneScape before, I highly recommend it if for no other reason than it is NOT A FREEMIUM game. The game can be played totally free though it’s much more enjoyable if you purchase membership. If you do become a member ($10/month) then there are no further expenses. One of the great features of this game is they do not try to nickel and dime players with micro transactions and there is no way to get ahead by outspending other players. My recommendation would be to try it as a free player, if you like it at all, buy one month of membership and judge the game based on the value of membership. There is enough content to keep you busy for thousands of hours if you so desire.

By far the best mobile RPG game on the market
What can really be said, it’s the best game on the market. From skipping school as a teenager to sneak to the library to play Runescape, to always having a good conversation with friends, and always having something to grind out in game. This game is the best. I’ve always skipped playing other mmorpgs because i like RS that much. I didn’t wanna get hooked on another game. Never regretted that decision. For a Pc game ported to mobile it runs smooth, has great graphics, and literally when your bored you can grind anywhere your at on your skills etc. The community is great as well, you can always find someone to talk with and even make some online friends to play with and talk to each time your on. I have no complaints at all. RS will always be on my phone even if I would take breaks for a month or two like I have before, I’ll always be back to play again. This is an addiction that you’ll want to have. Haha, to new players, don’t give up easily. Learning the game takes time but it’s simple to understand after a little time playing. Keep at it, you won’t regret it. Hope everyone is having a great day, and happy scaping.

One of the best games I’ve ever played! I remember being a kid going to the boys & girls club & me and my buddy discovered runescape and would always create twin pking accounts. It went from being twin mages to becoming twin rangers & then full blown hybrid twins. F2P pking was all we were really into back then. Then he quit for a while and I started exploring more content of the game and found that there’s so much to experience and fell in love with it since! Here I am now(28) & still love playing. I have made a Ironman account just to enjoy content even more and only use the fruit of the land and no help from players or the grand exchange! I gotta say I love it and mobile only made it that much better! Thanks to all the Jagex staff for making my favorite childhood game still favorable 15+ years later! I remember when the party hat/Christmas crackers were dropped on RS classic and the economy was ruined and thus OSRS/Runescape07 was born! I gotta say I’m very grateful for that Christmas drop now! I wish I could give this game a 10 out of 5 stars but 5 will have to do! Thanks again Jagex and keep up the good work with new content and still keeping a feel for the “old school” part of it!

Never connects to network I’m always uninstalling and reinstalling
The app continues to crash often so much of the game play can’t be done without risking your chance of freezing and being in combat. Only play on mobile now if I’m doing something that isn’t risky so just quick skill stuff and that’s all. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear the crashing issue is getting fixed UPDATE : got a response from JAGEX saying this mobile issue is on their end HOWEVER the “work around” options they provided through a link DO NOT WORK and the fact they are not offering to give the days of membership lost back to the mobile users is absurd. Once my membership is over i will be making sure not to renew. Poor customer service and poor quality of resolution (because there was none) Love this game but I have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling the app every time I switch WiFi’s from my house to another’s WiFi. It’s absolutely ridiculous and it doesn’t matter what I do I can use anything else on my tablet so I know it’s not me not connected to the internet Because everything else is working fine. YOU NEED TI FIX THIS BUG i pay for membership and can barely even use it because the app is never working

Very satisfied
I use to play this game when it’s was younger on dial up internet back over 10 years ago and I remember just enjoying myself but times weren’t the best and we couldn’t afford internet and they didn’t make it for PlayStation so I could never play. As time went on and touch screen phones came out and started getting to where people were playing actual video games on them me and my brothers were always like I wish they would bring runescape to mobile we’d play all the time, and we’d even try to go to there site and play anyway but it wouldn’t let us. Then one day I get a call from my dad like guess what runescape is on mobile, and I just couldn’t believe it. I downloaded it right away my whole family plays my brothers and my dad. It’s nice to be able to play a game that you use to enjoy so much as a kid as an adult on your phone none the less. I don’t get to “grind” like I would like but for someone works 40 hours a week and has a young family I’m beyond satisfied with being able to pull it out of my pocket and play as much as I’d like whenever I have the time. This game is awesome and will always be one of my favorites!

Glad to be back & message to new players
Haven’t been able to play as much since I go to uni. Ever since the mobile release I’ve gotten back on my Ironman for some time and have even seen old time friends get back on since the release of mobile. Thank you for the app and I’m glad it’s bringing the community new players and old players alike. P.S. the new players really need to start critically thinking and using the runescape wikia instead of having to bug the mods 24/7 crying about account bans, can’t retain my Runescape 3 character gear and stats, and just overall lack of common sense issues. It’s ridiculous the amount of people that think the game is horrible I get that it isn’t for everyone but seriously? You know you can change character looks? Look up guides (you have the internet)? Or just ask someone for help....Jesus man. Great app overall if you’re looking to have something to do. Can be a battery drain on older phone models and cross continental servers will lag a bit if you’re out of that country. Also do not listen to anyone posting about dark wizards on the OSRS Wikia page...it’s usually BS that tries to get clueless and new people killed

I’ve played this game for 10+ years
I’ve played this game for 10+ years and it’s the game I remember plus so much more. Honestly the hard working devs and community make this game flourish. I’ve never come back to a game time after time like I have RuneScape. I can’t give a perspective from a new player because everything is so ingrained in me, but my only advice to a new player discovering RuneScape for the first time is this; treat this game like an click and point adventure game. At its core in my opinion this game is best played in a mindset of discovering what this game has to offer. The free version is not doing yourself or the game justice I’m not going to lie. In my experience it’s been really hard to get my friends to play this game because of the lack of tutorial but in my opinion that makes it better, just keep in mind its difficult to solve some puzzles and inventory/gear management but there are tons of resources to help you online if you are really struggling. Honestly none of that matters to enjoy the game at its core, but it’s a good crutch if you are ever stuck! Just have fun with it and don’t take it seriously there’s enough of us veterans doing that already!

Great game, one MAJOR issue
Let me clarified first that I enjoy this game to the fullest: the quest lines, the members experience, and the little small details make this game great. However, there is a major issue on my latest iPad Pro where it frequently crashes in a place or area that contains a lot of things running in the background. For example, I cannot go to the GE or the wilderness servers because I end up crashing the moment I get there. The worst part about this issue, I died doing Monkey Madness I and so I came back to the GE and I ended up crashing and it switched servers on me. I had around 250K GP loot on me, and all of it was gone because I didn’t know what server I died in. Please fix this major issue, it might be a major problem for me in the future if I want to go pvp in very populated areas. This is not a lag problem as my IPad Pro runs smoothly on max FPS. This doesn’t happen on my old ipad so I don’t know why it would on my newer and faster one. Please also add what server you were last in for mobile just in case people died and crash and it switched servers on them on mobile.

Game Centre Oversight Bug
The game itself is amazing, and lends itself well to mobile. However somehow along the way they seem to have overlooked a very glaring issue, and don’t seem able to correct it. There are multiple pages on their support website for linking an account made via Apple’s game centre to an email account, yet they’ve put the wrong images on there. If they tried following their own instructions for an account made via game centre and linking an email, they’d find a very big mobile bug. If you try to add an email by clicking on the add email link it just leads to an error message in the chat box saying “you can’t access that link on this platform”. So I have to change platforms in order to click on the add email link (which does not work on iOS), but this platform (apple) is the only way to log in because game centre is exclusive to iOS. hey keep issuing cyclical information saying “add an email to login on another platform and change things” but that is just not possible because of this bug they’ve missed. I cannot even purchase a membership because of that. Lame tldr; Good game, but it’s ability to be enjoyed is massively hindered by the (exclusive to apple’s game centre login) ability to add emails and login on other platforms.

Convenient AF
OSRS mobile is incredibly easy to get sucked into. What started as a fun game way to get some nostalgia vibes of middle school-aged me on my phone turned into my newest addiction. Playing on mobile is incredibly easy and is a great way to pass time during downtime. If you’ve never played OSRS and can get over the visual aesthetic, it’s a really fun game with endless content that has something for everyone. You could easily get over 100+ hours in before needing/wanting to spend the money on membership (which is absolutely worth it if you plan to stick around). The great part of mobile is if you don’t have large chucks of time like typical MMO-ers have, you can still get a good experience and consistently play when you have a little time here and there. I have turned some potentially awful days at work into something more bearable by having my phone running OSRS and kind of checking in to the AFK type skills you can train without too much effort or attention needed to effectively improve. OSRS has been my lifeline through this last (hopefully) leg of the pandemic. Definitely give it a try if you are on the fence.

Flawless port
I am an old time veteran of this game, I played back during the times of autorune. If you don’t know what autorune is you are missing a big part of the history of this game. I feel I am certified to give a review on the port of this game, other reviews already review the game itself - and this is the 2007 version, not classic or rs3. I think classic is the best version but the community thinks this is the best version so it’s the best choice to port to mobile. The port is flawless. You tap to move and hold down on objects to pull up the right click menu. You text to chat and everything is there. My OSRS account was ready to go. This game feel really good on the phone almost perfect because the combat is static at times which gives you time to move the camera, use prayers/pots/etc., and make decisions. Training is great and the tap to click is perfect. The community is huge which is amazing to see - so many players it’s really like the old days. People are actually killing cows and goblins in lumby and scams and bots are in full forces it’s complete legit. I am pretty happy about this port and the choice to make it free. Good job Jagex!

Best MMO Ever
So you start out on this land mass surrounded by water (I think it’s called an island?), but anyway, they teach you how to play and you can get some levels there. But don’t be dumb like me, your skills max at 3 here! Spent 14 hours fishing shrimps for no reason. Any way, after you finish the tutorial you go to this sicknasty castle in a swamp! Monty Python would be proud. You also get some gear! So I killed a man. And a rat. And a goblin. And a cow. And a LOT of chickens. Now I was stronger. I went north until I found some wizard dudes. Man they were evil! I had to run away. Barely escaped, but on the bright side, I found a huge city! But, just like New York, people are only there to scam you. Some dude said he was doubling money, so I gave him all my stuff. He didn’t give it back, and I’m like “lol I’m dumb” but some nice dude gave me some steel armor and a sword! Told me I could make money killing stuff, so I started killing guards - because let’s be real, they probably were gonna attack me anyway for killing that man earlier. And so I kill one and it drops a treasure map! And I was so confused! And now I’m googling to see what to do! 10/10 would play again!

Great but there is definitely some work to be done
I play OSRS often and when I’ve been following the news for mobile for a while so I decided to give it a shot (keep in mind I only played mobile for like 2hrs before making this)I knew this was more for the beginner or the guy that wants to lvl up while using the bathroom so I downloaded it and the login screen is very pleasing but the GUI of the actual game needs some working on it runs great on my iPhone 6 but the GUI is just bad we don’t need a button for the trade requests and the clan chat and all and the game chat it just takes up too much screen real estate and all the stuff on the left of the screen like emotes and stuff is just not needed it can be put in a sub menu infact that’s what the chat needs as well a sub menu and if you don’t do Any of these just please lower the sensitivity on the zoom in and out thanks and just btw I’m not a hater I adore OSRS I’ve been a player for a long time and I super anxious to receive my records I bought from you guys it’s just this app needs a little work and hopefully it will help the OSRS fan base grow -xSTEAMYx on the scape

Needs to work on involving a new fan base
So as a person who’s been playing the game on and off since 2006 I love it. Everything runs pretty much flawlessly and as I would have expected it to run. And it is a fantastic app for people who play/have played RuneScape since oldschool an rs3 separated. Now for people who haven’t played the game before I could see going into the game being VERY confused. I haven’t done tutorial in a long time, but I can imagine being dropped into this MASSIVE game and having absolutely no idea what to do. XP rates I already know will be so slow to users that aren’t familiar with the game in comparison to other phone MMO’s and i can see users getting extremely annoyed, extremely quick. I’m not sure how to combat this to get new, long term users into the game without creating a whole new mobile version but It will without a doubt become a problem if it hasn’t already which will stifle the MASSIVE potential that a mobile version of this game has. With that being said, as an on and off player, I think it is very well done so kudos to the team for pulling this off so well.

I’ve been playing runescape for a long time, and as a kid I always dreamed of playing runescape while sitting in the car on the way to school or running errands, mobile was and is everything I could’ve dreamed of. Being able to woodcut while I’m waiting in line at the grocery store.. doing a seaweed run before a dr’s appointment, the convenience is too good.. the overall performance of the game runs smoothly, it honestly runs better than the official client on my pc sometimes! Lol. Only problems I’ve ever ran into is if you try to do content that has a lot of people participating in it, it can crash, like wintertodt.. other than that, I like the simple overlays, the ease of use, the one click log in, & I love that it doesn’t have a lot of pressure on micro transactions. I don’t really do any “risky” content on mobile, I’d say it’s more for “low effort” content like motherload mine or afking redwoods. But that’s not to say you cannot boss on mobile because it’s definitely doable, especially if you are on an iPad using an Apple pen. get this app, you won’t be disappointed.. every “afk” activity feels like 0 time lol

OSRS Nostalgic Favorite
Okay, so I thought I’d start from the beginning and it would probably have to be around the year 2003. Since my brother was older he would show me anything that’s new. It was called Runescape. A new mmorpg online in browser game. All you needed was a internet connection. The world was so fresh with new, moderate, and seasoned players offering sales in each bank locations. (Since the general exchange never existed). Players would auction their items at banks. The wilderness was the coolest thing; where you could get skulled! As well as to survival if you needed to take rest and bring out the sleeping bag. -which is what we would consider runescape classic today. This game brings so much nostalgia. It’s unfortunate that RuneScape 3 requires too much for my old computers and can’t handle. I just wish my characters could’ve switched on to both rs3 and osrs when first released. Oh well, I’m just glad RuneScape is finally out on Mobile. I remember the talks of having it on console like Xbox or PlayStation and I even remember the talks where you could play on the go! Look at here! Finally made it! :)

Permabanned unapealable no support no evidence
I have been playing again for a few days since about a year popped a bond that I had from before and smithed 3000 adamantite bars into dart tips did some motherload mine as well and a few other time killers mostly on osrs mobile and on runlite I had to switch to my other ftp player start leveling that mining and all I find are bots in the varrock mining area on every single free world so I am forced to go elsewhere and just mine and drop to get my levels. How are they not getting banned when I play a little and they be mining all day. And I was looking forward to time this weekend to get mining to 80 and finish the prospector set but I can’t even appeal the ban because it’s unappealable and I’m losing out on about 5 mil worth a bond even if I get my account back thats not including the 24 mil of hard earned money that I worked my way up too and there is no where you can voice your problems to to fix this issue. And I 100% believe it’s the osrs mobile because I had 2 other characters up on the same computer 1 smithing steel and the other fishing cooking and banking it- they didn’t get the ban but the one I used osrs mobile with did. If this does get resolved I will reverse my rating but just rediculous to not even be able to appeal the ban.

Best MMORPG of all time.
My first review had to be about this masterpiece. I am one of those 90s kids who played this game after school and on the weekends on my old PC when I should’ve been studying. The game has an undeniable charm factor to it, one that has allowed it to drag me back in after so many years. It is possibly the best MMORPG of all time, which is crazy, considering its age and the fact that the game is free to play. Free to play means that it is actually free to try, but Runescape does this model perfectly, as you are able to get a satisfying taste for the main mechanics of the game before you decide to make the leap to membership. Yet before you do so, you still have hours on hours of content to go through for free. Quests are funny and interesting, combat is somewhat dated but charming in its own way as it makes the game unique, player interactions are actually a positive aspect of the game as you are able to make friends easily while you play and the mobile port is very well executed. If you are into MMORPGs and are tired of the repetitive games on the app store, you need to play this now.

Understanding Oldschool Runescape
Once you understand osrs you will have a game that will keep you playing for hours. The first thing you need to know that this game is driven by the community and all updates go thru an in game voting process requiring 70% to actually implement it. I see some reviews here complaining about things that are simple, for example some guy can’t do a maze(lol) it’s a maze man get good. I suggest you read everything because this game will test your reflexes , luck ,skills, endurance and probably the must fun of all is finding unique ways to play the game that nobody has even thought about it yet. There are people trying to get “in game money from noobs” don’t believe anybody in the game never give your personal information. Like I said this game is unlimited and you can play it however you want , it’s an open world. You will never run out things to do. Lastly, there are “things” like quest, bosses, ways of skilling, and pvp that some players can’t do because they don’t have the ability. So it’s time to show you can do everything , prove your worth.

Falsely Permabanned
First of all, I love that OSRS is available to everyone, and is now playable on iPhones. I played the hell out of this game for a while, but took a break from it to focus more on work and college. I finally had the time to reinstall and play this game again, but found out I was permabanned for macroing. I am not a tech savvy guy and don’t know how to hack or not or anything like that. So it seemed super odd that I would be banned for this. I looked at the records for this ban and it said the ban was issued during the time I was out of state, onvacation in Yellowstone with my family. There is no internet access out there at all, so how could I have logged in and “married?” This doesn’t make sense. Also, I read online from multiple sources that Jagex doesn’t read appeals specifically for macro bans. Which is quite sad since there are people like me who might have been hacked or truly, falsely banned for something they didn’t do. So Jagex, if you’re reading this, please accept my appeal to unban my account. I was banned during a time I didn’t have access to the internet and I don’t want to have to grind all my stats up all over again in a game that requires a ton of time to grind up every skill.

The only game that actually did what matters and did it right.
This is the most honest attempt of company to do what the community wants. This is the runescape I played as a child with extra content. This app is exactly the same as playing on the computer my same account works on both the app and the computer and you can also play with everyone from both platforms. They offer polls for the community to vote how we want the game. Yeah rarely there are some troubles with accounts being banned for botting but it’s because the developers are truly trying to make the game better for everyone. I also had some troubles and thought I was going to lose my account because I switched phones and emails and such but I reached out to more on twitter and on their website recovery forum and easily got my account back. With the way some people talk about not being able to get their accounts back I was surprised how easy it actually was. On top of all that I love runescape the actual game is pretty awesome in comparison to a lot of new shiny garbage games for how old it is.

Happy as heck
I’ve lived this games since I was a teenager and couldn’t play much once I got a job and just couldn’t be around a computer to play as much anymore and have a family now . Now I can okay on my phone, anytime I want and I play on my breaks at lunch. The only thing I hate is that it makes you start over all again even with your same account. It jumped my old leveled up account to rs3 and makes you use the same name but a new player account on old school and start over , but whatever . The game is very smooth and actually faster and better than my computer , just had to get used to where the buttons were again and touching on a smaller scale but also I use my iPad to play on a bigger screen when I can to make it easier. I love going back to what I used to play years ago, and don’t much like what they’ve done with rs3 and jumping my old account to that to where I have to start over again this my 4 stars , but this is what jagex should have done years ago and people have told them that . Sad it’s taken this long and after many players left and stopped playing over it but they needed this.

Absolutely not fair, falsely banned
I’m writing this because my account was banned and I do not understand how. I was banned for macro botting... something I would not ever do. Even worse the “ban appeal” process does nothing. I’ve heard from several others in similar experiences that Jagex does not bother looking into “severe ban appeals”. I was just playing the game. I was not botting. I, an actual player, had to compete with bots for resources. How do those accounts not get banned but I do? I’ve read from multiple people that the app might be to blame. I was last playing on the app. I’ve also heard Jagex’s dumb authenticator app / security system could also be to blame. I installed that too because I had to in order to claim rewards in the stronghold of security. Because I’m not a bot, bots don’t go to places like the stronghold of security. All they do is mine or cut trees. The most frustrating part of this is that I cannot even email Jagex directly to communicate with them that there has been a mistake. I was falsely banned. This is not fair. I am only writing this review in hopes that someone may help me. If not, at the very least I hope that with enough reviews people start to notice this to prevent more accounts from being lost. But if I cannot get my account back then Jagex is losing a loyal customer of over 10 years.

Crappy password requirements!
I am absolutely fed up with not being able to get into my own account because of their ridiculous password requirements. Your not allowed to use a single word in your password…!? I cant use any of my usual passwords. Why the password requirements are so stringent for a game!? I literally havent been able to play it since my first rush into the game, weeks worth of playing because it stopped auto signing me in and cant remember the absurd password they made me make. And i was able to recover my account but now i cant even think of a single password to use because i cant use a word, or consecutive numbers/letters. All i wana do a play a freakin game when im bored why is this so complicating!!! I should be able to use any password i see fit. My passwords are fine on everything else, email, facebook, my computer sign in, literally everything. But apparently arent secure enough for a game. Its pretty stupid that i cant play it just because of a trivial issue like overly stringent password requirements! I have wasted literally hours trying to both recover and correct my password on my account at this point. I love this game and want to play to relive my childhood but its not worth it to fight signing in constantly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Done!

Best mobile game I’ve ever played
This game is super good. I am not old, I am a teenager. I typically have high standards for games regarding gameplay and graphics, and despite the graphics in this game, it has exceeded my expectations. The quests are nice and fun, the graphics work surprisingly well, the community is really good (if you can get past the scammers and botters) I would absolutely recommend. The amount of content In free to play is actually quite good, but I would recommend a membership. You can buy one with in game gold (no microtransactions needed) however getting that amount of gold is tough in f2p. One month of membership can be enough to get consistent enough gold to keep it as long as you play. This game has so much content in pay to play. Tons of quests and rewards, cool skills like slayer, and a huge map. Plenty of players are also willing to offer tips if you need them. Plenty of players at the ge. (Grand exchange) Edit after dev review: I actually have been a member for over 2 years now.

Full game in your pocket. Needs better customizability though
This is great. I love osrs and being on mobile got me back into playing it. This is literally the full game and I’m blown away they got it this smooth and working on mobile. My biggest problem is that on mobile I choose to try and level skills and not do intense PVM or PVP but the lack of customizing the location of the tabs such as magic ruins it for me. Alching would be amazing on phone if you could move the magic tab to the right side because right now I have to click a tiny spell on the left (which you can filter to make bigger) and then click a tiny item on the right. On the computer you can get them so they’re in the same spot and you just keep pressing the same area. I miss hitting the item maybe 10% of the item and it’s much more work I can’t play one handed to allow multitasking and if you miss I have to re click the right side and then hit the item again. It’s a small thing I know but I can’t imagine it’s very hard to fix. I would play this 10x more if they allowed moving the tabs to either side and a little more customizability to make user interface better.

Just want to give Jagex a round of applause this team and all the members and mods day n day out! You guys are actually doing whatever it takes to keep us going. I recently joined again and i am trying to get use to old school but I was always a rs3 I’ve been playing on off since 06-07. But I really hope playing this go around I don’t have to start over in the long haul. The amount of time and effort it takes to get to where your saying to yourself wooah! Yea finally we made it with a bunch or some 99s having everything you want (ill mention 99 prayer con and herb) now I’ve had everything you guys had to offer to protect my account(s) and then to wake up 3 times in over 10+ solid years I’ve played to nothing to my name. It’s taken me 8 years now just to give this another chance. Please don’t let us down. Anyways you guys rock this game rocks this open world rocks and if your giving out a month of free membership I’m sure you’ll bring in more users !~!~!~!~

Best MMORPG of Yesterday and Today.
I have been playing Runescape since 2008. I used to watch my brother play and the game was fascinating to me. I have always loved this game, it’s got the best progression and achievement system that keeps you coming back for more even decades later, it’s so good that it is addicting. You start in the world with all level 1 skills (all skills cap at 99) and you are not forced to go any where or forced to endure any quests or skills you do not like. This is a VAST open world with an INSANE amount of interconnected NPCs, Storylines/Lore, Bosses and History. This game has so much to offer and i highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in a well-developed MMORPG with a nostalgic graphical theme. This game may be a bit overwhelming at the very creation of your first account because there is just SO MANY options, so many quests with very worthwhile rewards, skills that effect every style of gameplay, bosses that have interesting mechanics and drop the best armor and weapons. 10/10 would recommend to anyone interested in PC/MOBILE MMORPGs.

A diamond gem behind the grind
I’ve played this is middle school and recently came back a year ago. The mobile client runs the game flawlessly and very smoothly. I also play on my tablet and pc. RuneScape has some of the most beautiful quests as well as true player freedom than most of the games I’ve ever played. That’s what’s so beautiful about it. After passing a short tutorial, you are free to do whatever you please. Want to kill some enemies? Maybe you liked mining/smithing or fishing/cooking. Do you want to cast magic? Or shoot arrows. The beautiful thing is that you can do it all at your own pace. You could jump into some quests or you could go explore! But don’t be fooled, a lot of this game can be Grindy. But to be honest, that’s why you keep coming back. There’s various stages of the game and even bossing and raids at the end. So welcome to Gielinor! Stay a while and have fun. Be careful of the Wilderness that’s to the North where players can attack other players ;) unless you’re willing to risk the items that you’re carrying!
