If you received a card from the store, before you try to download the app go to the online website first create login there then verify your email with the link they email you. Once that part is completed then download the app and you should have no issues using it. I was able to go to the website first right on my phone. Hope this helps anyone struggling to create a log in from the app and not having any success.
Visited store a few weeks ago and was not really impressed, installed app to see new deals, created account in the app to move past the initial screen, navigated to store locator page, found local store and selected it as my hometown store, app put a checkmark in the appropriate box next to the desire store, after 3-4 seconds it removed the checkmark with no indicators, repeated the two previous tasks several times with no success, navigated to account settings and failed to troubleshoot issue, deleted account, uninstalled the app, now waiting on Ollie’s to sell my information so I can get more spam emails. It might be a better experience if Ollie’s would guide users to their website until the apps use cases and functionality have been vetted out. Plus the website doesn’t require an account to view merchandise, and the websites store selector appears to maybe work. The app doesn’t have very clear indicators after store is selected. Before, i was not really impressed by Ollie’s, and now, i am even less impressed with Ollie’s because of their app…which they don’t really need for their business. I hope Ollie’s doesn’t sell their customers information, however it is unlikely for this to be the case.
In no way is this a reflection of the store, which is a hit or miss bargain store if you want something specific, yet great if you are trying eto balance a budget or find a decent gift that would cost twice as much anywhere else. The prices are unbeatable. The app on the other hand provides very little other than store location, an image of their latest advertisement showing exactly what you get via email or mailer/newspaper (with no specific information, just an exact image of the flyer), and a image of any discount coupons you may qualify for. Very little else. I understand it’s a discount store and inventory is totally random and changing. However if you are going to create an app, you have a big opportunity to speak to a target audience who is actually seeking you out. Offer a blog or some brand information or additional product information on what is in the flyer. I hate giving it a 2 star because there is nothing buggy or malfunctioning, nothing wasteful, irrelevant or misleading. It’s just bland and boring. Maybe it’s part of the savings they pass on and that’s forgivable.
Just like 90% of the other reviewers said, this app is crap. I wasted a good half an hour, tediously imputing all my information in 3 seperate times (which I was kinda suprised you guys didn't ask for my SSN, to be honest...), thinking I must've done something wrong, but turns out that the only thing I did wrong, was waste that half an hour of my life that I will never get back on this useless app. What's the point of even creating this app, if your customers can't make an account to use it? And from the looks of the dates from other reviewers, this has been going on for a long time now, and yet noone from Ollie's could spare even an hour to try to fix it for their customers? Nothing? Not even so much as one vague and indifferent reply to one of your (very) many negative reviews? Awesome customer service and business integrity. All of us can really tell how much you love and appreciate your customers. Keep up the good work. I'm sure business will really start booming soon.
Your coupons aren’t worth the trouble. I was in the store and couldn’t get the 15% off that was advertised without an email or a cards in the mail. So, why am I spending money using my membership that I’m asked for my phone number everyone I shop? I think that I’m getting benefits for doing that, but it’s apparent that I’m not. I make a purchase with my phone number that links me to your system, showing that I’m a frequent customer. But I can’t get your advertised discount after giving up all this information. I’m not going to spend any more money at any of your stores. I will pay more rather than be frustrated with making purchases here. I would have felt better about spending my money without the coupon offer because I wouldn’t have expected the advertised discount. Do away with your coupons or do away with your system of how to redeem them. It’s frustrating! I drive 20 miles to shop here and now this…
Do you people not know how troublesome your app is? Have the powers that be not figured out how to look at reviews about their app? Or is it that they just don’t care. They were asked to do a thing, they did the thing, and that’s as far as it goes. They’re not trying fix anything, check anything, or assist anyone with the thing they did. They did it, got paid, it’s done — they’ve washed their hands of it lol. Horrible customer relations for an equally horrible “app”. You can’t pass the sign up screen. I thought it was my phone until I came and read the reviews - which I normally do before downloading an app - but the one time I don’t, look what happens lol. It shouldn’t be called an a”app”, it’s just a sticker. Shame on you, Ollie’s.
After driving past the store many many times in Ponca City, OK, I finally stopped. Lots & lots of books, Christmas decorations, bedding, a little automotive & DIY, toys & puzzles & seen-on-TV stuff, some clothes, lots of medium size area rugs…and so much more! The locations in the Oklahoma City area are closer to home so they’re next on my list. Browse a lot then Buy & Save!
I can’t believe all the bad reviews on here? I had no problem signing up, with the app or in the store. I moved from California, it has numerous discount and thrift stores- I was definitely impressed when I visited a store in Mcalester, OK. I live in a rural area and not many choices to shop, I visited a Ollie’s store and couldn’t believe the bargains, the choices in inventory ❤️ I could spend an entire day here!! I no longer miss my old favorite bargain stores😊
Despite many negative reviews, I wanted to give this app a try. For the time being, I will stick to the normal website. In case I can save you time, you may want to know, you are forced to have or make an account to do anything at all with this app. You cannot get past the login/setup prompt. You cannot view weekly ads, check store hours, or do anything useful with this app if you don’t make (or can’t make) an account. This goes against common app patterns. One should not have to login to do basic actions.
Don’t learn the hard way like I did. If you have any coupons, unlike Sheetz and other stores, you MUST present your coupon by phone or mention it to them or else you won’t get your discount!! I found that out the hard way. Mention to them your discount or else you won’t get it… trust me!
I’m always sure that I’ll find exactly what I didn’t know I needed. Yup play on words, but that’s what happens every time I walk through those doors! As for the employees, well, I think they do a fine job . And the store is like a treasure hunt. Stop being so critical and just have fun looking for stuff you don’t even know you need ,YET.
So like almost everyone in the reviews I couldn’t create my account, but what you have to do is go to their website and create the account there first. Once you’re all set and you have your email verified you can login in the app. It worked for me. Good store.
Love Ollie's!!! I like the speed of the app, I really only use it for my Ollie's card though. To keep my wallet a little thinner. Wish the app would let you add it to apple wallet for easier access.
I love olllie’s friendly helpful a Cashiers and their informative busy staff. I’m dissapointed when I don’t get there in time for their highly advertised items. But I always find myself looking and of course finding more than I came in for. Selection Product’s are always so tempting. Even on a fixed income I find that I can still buy products that I like and affordable. This is one reason I shop at Ollie’s. I wish I could get more sale items with % off All in all I love Ollie’s wish they would have more stores. Closer to Orchard Park N Y. A very satisfying experience. Elaine SECRIST
The store in Florence Alabama just opened and we were able to go in. It was crowded but the employees handled it well and the prices are always a good deal! We used to travel 2 hours to the closest store. Now we have one close by!! I definitely recommend shopping there!
Downloaded the app. Verified my email. Then logged in. The app asked to make a new password. Once I did, then it seemed to work perfectly. All adds and info on my points showed. I will update again after I return to the store to use the app.
I recently got an Ollie’s card and went to use the app and I can’t create an account. Keeps saying I’m missing a required field. I thought I might have already had an account and tried that and same thing. Tried to change pw, same thing. No clue why it says I’m missing required fields when I’m not. Guess I’ll uninstall and just wait for ads and hope no one asks for the card.
App works great. Good layout with access to Ollie’s card and local store flyer. Maybe they updated it recently, but I don’t know what those other reviews are talking about! No issues so far!
I just went to Ollies. I came home and decided to download the app and be able to see the ads. However after putting in all my personal info the submit button does not work so I deleted the app. I will maybe try again. Probably not. You have to catch your customers attention while you have it.
When I’m looking for something I go to Ollie’s first. Don’t always find what I’m looking for but if I do I know it’s the best price around. AND I seldom walk out without finding something I didn’t know I needed!
The app only worked once or twice for me! I can’t log in, reset password or create new acct…everything says error! I have tried several times over a few months and nothing and no way to contact anyone about my acct. Don’t bother, not worth the time!
This app is great some of the time. You can see deals and all that, but it desperately needs updated. I cannot “set my store”. I cannot add my ollies card there for I can’t use my rewards/coupons if I get any. It’s very frustrating. Please update it and fix this!
Decided to sign up for this even tho there is no Ollie’s close to me. Went through all the info you wanted password everything. Then the end wouldn’t let me press the bar to enter. I did it twice and it doesn’t work.
A manager in the Pensacola store approached two you girls threatening them while they were outside the store and watched them like they were theives and if that’s how potential customers are to be treated because of being a different race I will never shop with that company ever again
I’ve tried numerous times to create an account and it still won’t let me. It keeps saying “Make sure all required fields are filled out snd try again.” I’ve checked it a thousand times and still nothing.
The app doesn’t work you try to create an account and it keeps saying everything is wrong. Can you go online and it works then go back to the app doesn’t work. I just delete the app.
Almost every time this is the message I get. I can never count on it to check for coupons etc because of this. I’ve tried deleting app and re installing countless times. I have an iPhone XR. I shouldn’t have these problems.
The cashier wore her mask around her neck (Ivie from Hoover, AL store) and told me I couldn’t get the discount if I didn’t have my discount card even though I have the app. While ringing me up she was asking when her break was since she’d been there for an hour and a half. Other employees were fine.
This app doesn’t work at all. Do you have to have a search bar that actually works. I went to the website and app and looked up rugs which I know that you have for a fact, and not a single one popped up!!!!!
I filled everything out to create an account. At the very bottom of page it has a submit button, it was faded out and would not let me make an account.
Wont let you view anything without ccollecting your info saying you need to “join” or “sign in”… zero added benefits as you cannot purchase online. App is only to collect info.
FIRST OFF: No joiny - no usey ... no accounty ... no usey! If ur not close to a store... brick wall ... you shall not pass ... you can’t even look at a flier. They won’t shut up about joining “Ollie’s army”. If you think this is a discount shopping site/app like Banggood or geek ... uh ... no ... just smells scammy to me. I’m backing out and deleting ASAP.
Disappointed with the fact that just because it’s in their ad truly means nothing as several employees informed me that they do not always get items in the ad I ask if ever to confirm was told yes sometimes never!!
Installed app on my iPhone to easily view their local ad. Despite trying several different ways, I always wind up back at the store locator. Save yourself some frustration and just skip this app.
I'm able to view your flyer on my iPhone app but when accessing app on iPad after I select store it doesn't connect. Can't view flyer. Update: iPod and second iPhone can view ad but on primary iPhone I can't view the flyer.
Signed up for the membership program today. Just got home and downloaded the app to complete the set up of my account. Will not load at ALL!!! Says ‘error unable to load app’. Worthless.
