This game is absolutely amazing, the music makes the game very foreboding and the gameplay is absolutely stellar. At first I thought I would hate it since it was based on Oregon trail but I absolutely love it to death and beyond. There is just one problem though. And no it is not the fact that I had to pay for expansions or that the game was 3 dollars. It's the fact that clements quest seems to have a problem when I can't get past the giant mountain after Las Vegas. For some reason I always slow down to a crawl when I get to the mountain and I don't know how to go faster. I have seen youtubers play it and they go over the mountain like its cake walk. I would like and update where it is not hard to accelerate to top speed on any incline, or at least a way to go faster. The game is stellar but clements quest needs to be fixed, sooner rather than later. Other than that the game is well made and I am just addicted to it. Thanks for all your work so far.
The game is effectively the best version of Oregon Trail on IOS. The apple arcade version is kinda trash. If you're okay with the zombie theme it's the best recreation of the game even down to the art style. Only complaint is the game locks up when reaching safe haven if youve fought the boss before hand(happened on normal and hard for me, which is weird because I thought the boss was only even there on hard and up). The first time I played on normal and the boss wasn't there, the game ended just fine. Having your game crash right at the end is always a bummer and it's happened to me twice now. That said, game is still a blast and I still get the unlocks for completion even if I don't get to see my score. Totally worth the buy.
This game rocks! Seriously one of my favorite games on my phone! The controls are easy to learn and it's highly entertaining! Plus the decisions you have to make to survive keep you on the edge of your seat!(I mean if your sitting down) However, I do have some issues with the final cut expansion. It's a really cool expansion, but for some reason you are no longer given any sort of points for survivors, or supplies, or any extra points for anything actually other than difficulty level and distance. This is suuuuper dissatisfying, making all of your saving and scavenging useless in the end. AND on top of that, for some reason after the boss battle, when it says "you made it in to safe haven" IT FREEZES! You beat the game, and after all of your hard work the game freezes on you! That, as you can imagine is very frustrating. I just ask that you fix these problems or just make a way to toggle the expansion on and off so we can choose not to deal with it. Other than that the game is great!
I just bought this game last night and played it three times. During the last play through I was able to make it to safe haven. Everyone in perfect health, car running great but a little low on ammo. Ok, now to collect 8 gas cans. Don’t ask me how this happened but I lost my entire part in less than 5 minutes. One touch from a zombie is an instant kill. My leader was attacked or touched by zombies too many times while scavenging, but was easily healed with medkits. I had several but wasn’t allowed to use them if a zombie touched me searching for the gas cans. That seemed like a low blow to me after making it this far in perfect health. After sacrificing my last teammate to have the zombies eat him to distract, I collected the remaining 3 gas cans. Strangely, I ended up collecting 13 of 8 gas cans and then the game was stuck and couldn’t get to the next part. Very frustrating and disappointed after thinking this was a great game up to this point. I’ll try it again and see if I can get 8 of 8 cans cans this time.
Being from the “Oregon Trail Generation” I loved playing the original Oregon Trail on the old apple computers as a kid and now the adult me can play Organ Trail on iOS! These developers took the gameplay of the original Oregon Trail and made it more geared towards adults by adding zombies, bandits, and a dark survival twist to it! Instead of “hunting” now it’s “scavenging”, instead of “fording” it’s “sneaking through horde”. The music is a fantastic mix of ominous rocking chiptunes, synth, and real instruments, and the gameplay is a great balance of being incredibly fun and challenging, you really have to manage your resources just like the original Oregon Trail! If you’ve played Death Road to Canada (also influenced by Oregon Trail), you’ll love this! Organ Trail plays much closer to the original Oregon Trail (it even has keyboard click sounds, yes!) and is much darker than Death Road, as Organ Trail does not have the wacky humor nor the character customization depth as Death Road (Organ Trail does have some dark humor moments though and you can unlock characters “skins” if you’ve purchased the add-on). Honestly, I love both games, and anyone who likes zombie survival games (especially with a retro look) will love this game, Buying the add-ons is a no-brainer (heh) and TOTALLY worth it! 5 stars!!!!!!!!!
Caveat, I have all the expansions. The sheer breadth of content, the quantity of variables for subsequent playthroughs, the surprising level of both visual and gameplay polish for a game going for the C64 era look, being able to play it both in an active and passive manner, the cool, jammy, synthy horror music, the fairly low power draw due in part to the lofi visual aesthetic, and the fact that it’s essentially a complete experience that doesn’t include micro transactions (sans purchasing the two expansions, which are fairly cheap anyway and bring it up to parity with the Steam version), ads, or time and token limited play, I can verifiably call this the finest mobile game in existence. If you play games on mobile and Organ Trail isn’t one of them, I implore you to change that immediately.
Best game on App Store! Download this now! Just like Oregon Trail! I loved it! I recommend beating the game with just the $2.99 app with no expansions bought! I liked the original way best I believe but who knows... I may edit this and say otherwise after beating it again on the expansions side... But to me, the original “Organ Trail” at 2.99 felt more scary and I was more enthrawled in my story. Very creepy soundtrack! Soundtrack tends to change in the expansions which I don’t care for due to the mood set in the game.... and you can choose paths in expansion, but honestly I prefer the $2.99 and having to use the station wagon! That to me is an incredible DND style story. I felt so sad and creeped out, and bc of my names a lot of funny humor. I love this game and give it a 10/10! Buy it!
I’ve honestly had this game for years now. I can with 150% certainty that I love it! It’s definitely been a great time-killer on my deployments in the Navy. Even my fellow sailors have started playing. There is one problem though once you defeat the final boss at Safe Haven you’re given the onscreen message “You entered safe haven. Tap anywhere to continue” but when you tap anywhere nothing happens. The hot fix is to restart the app but even then you only receive your bonus for distance travelled and nothing else. And that’s only after fighting the final boss a second time. This bug seems to be 3 years old maybe older. I love this game and I would love it even more if this were fixed. Keep up the good work though!!!
This game, especially after the most recent update, is solid for multiple play throughs. I'll admit that I'm not the best at long-haul survival games, but I think that's what made it more satisfying making it all the way to the end. One suggestion is to keep adding more variety to weapons and more cool Easter eggs. Also, the end and maybe a few other select moments offer unique combat that I found more fun than the usual grind. It would be cool to see more of that. Over all, great game!
This game is more expensive than some people are accustomed to. That’s fine, but for perspective, I shelled out three dollars for “Organ Trail” when I was nine years old. I’m now fifteen, and I still re-download it every few months and play through a trip with four of my close friends, just for the sheer joy of it. Bottom line: it pays for itself. You’re gonna be using a long time. That’s why it’s worth the three bucks, and why I’m beside myself with excitement after just having bought the expansions. My favorite mobile game and one that is unlike any other. A must-have on anybody’s phone.
I love Oregon Trail, always have. The game is exactly what it says it is. Oregon Trail with zombies. If you aren’t a fan of the original, you likely won’t be of this one. I however am. Zombies, or any apocalyptic scenario, makes everything better. Only complaint that I have is when attempting to restore purchase. Although I haven’t dived into the game until now, I am certain that I purchased both expansions on a prior iPhone, but when hitting the Restore Purchase button, I wait and wait for the game to connect, but it doesn’t. Not happy about it, but 5 stars regardless.
tldr: Nostalgic fun but needs to add expansions to base game free otherwise not worth the money. If you love the original Oregon Trail and or retro games, you're going to love the nostalgia in here. Another favorite feature is that you can name your survivors which make their deaths or infections more humorous and/or tragic HOWEVER. The game is not worth 3$. With that said, they have expansions for additional money which I believe should be INCLUDED in the premium purchase. More events and more upgrades? That should be a quality of life update and not an expansion that cost additional money. I would definitely hold off on buying this and find similar experiences for free on desktop. Just search, "games like Oregon Trail."
I love this game to death. The concept, the gameplay, the music, the barebones story, it’s perfect. It gives you just enough detail to help you understand the world, but there’s no real story besides the basic goal of reaching Safe Haven. The music is just beautiful. It holds a sort of hopeless hope in it with each track, that there’s some light at the nonexistent end of the tunnel. This game is a masterclass of a parody that just oozes with creativity and uniqueness. I genuinely hope one day someone makes a video about this game and it becomes known for the masterpiece it is.
I just had a great experience playing this game and safeguarding my entire team to safe haven. I even picked up a baby along the way and fed it to the end. After getting all the gas and starting the generator I was greeted to a new final boss I hadn't known about. I defeated the boss without a scratch and was stuck at a "you got into safe haven, press anywhere to continue" screen. The game would not continue. In my anger and frustration the squid was able to hit me and I got to a screen of my crippled player crawling only to be eaten by a zombie. The game wasted no time deleting my save leaving me with a wide jaw and a broken heart. Fix this. Seriously. That's just disrespectful to your players to leave something like this in.
I remember finding this game when I was still in middle school and it’s stayed on my phone ever since. This game is one of the last few things in the App Store that isn’t plagued with scam ads every second. While I love this game with all my heart and know the devs worked on this game for so, so long, I can’t help but feel it’s been kind of left to rot. Honestly, I would happily shell out more money for a DLC if it meant there’d be more little side stories, events on the road, maybe even an alternate ending in the game.
Update: (*****) Once again my review is up to 5 stars because of the quick and effective fixes to all the bugs from the previous update! I have my endless expansion again and all the achievements/road events work now. Thank you. Love this game! Can't wait to see more content added in the future! (: Old Review: (***) Before the latest update, I had access to endless mode. After the latest update, I no longer have access to endless mode (I have to pay $1.99 to unlock it) AND I lost all my data. All of it. Not to mention the 'achievements' are broken and the notifications for them make me unable to view proceedings or graves on the side of the road, choose certain fording options, and mess me up while playing the game. I'm on iPod touch 5th gen. Please fix everything and I'll give you 5 stars. I do love this game.
I tend to hate horror and zombie games on account of all the violence and gore and severe lack of story. Organ trail is everything but that! Packed to the brim with dialogue, tips and trivia, morality choices and adventure, the simplistic graphics are both charming and friendly to those on the squeamish side. It's wickedly funny and clever, and definitely stands out among other zombie survival games. Both true to the original game and unique in its own right, Organ Trail is well worth 5/5 stars.
This is a fun little game, it reminds me of playing Yukon Trail as a kid on my family’s first PC. There’s an annoying bug though where the game locks up after the final boss. I am able to reload, fight him AGAIN and then finish but it’s pretty annoying, especially after spending $6, that the devs won’t fix it. Also, the rating at the end of the game doesn’t take into account surviving party members or time elapsed in game, which seems silly. Otherwise, great game
I do believe this game is very good but it still has some gaps. The only reason I am rating a 4/5 is that the game just needs more content, like longer and more random and intense scavenging sessions. Plus I would like to be able to sell car parts for cash or be able to visit different locations in a town or pick more roads to travel. Nonetheless the game is very good and I enjoy playing it regularly and I love the new update.

The soundtrack is absolutely stellar, and it has to be some of the best 8-Bit music I've ever heard. Scratch that, some of the best music I've ever heard period. The game's concept makes me all too happy, the characters are great, the trip, everything. I love it so much. Thank you for creating this masterpiece.
I love the game it’s very fun and cool because you can scavenge you can do many different things I also had it on our devices but the thing that takes away from it is that you kind of have to pay extra to get the full cut so you can get more because I just think it’s a little weird.
To be honest, when I first downloaded this game I assumed it would be boring and far to expensive, but after having the game for a while I can tell you it’s worth every penny. Somehow the creators made the game incredibly intense and addicting with so many random frustrating yet amazing twists and turns. If your looking for a long term game you can always rely on, look no further.
Amazing and fantastic game, except for a few bugs that almost ruin the experience. Specifically, at the very end of Suicide mode in the expansion, the game crashes instead of letting me go into Safe Haven. Sometimes I have to repeat the boss fight two or three times just to finish my run. Not the worst glitch but I could definitely do without.

Because retro video games are one of my favorite things, especially the Oregon Trail, I really was happy when I found this on the App Store. Although it is quite a price to pay, I find the game and expansion packs worth the money. I would especially recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed the Oregon Trail (or any other retro games) and/or a Walking Dead fan.
Love the game however since updating to the director’s cut, the app crashes after the final boss battle and I don’t get to see the final score. Additionally, the final score doesn’t always give details and only provides points based on difficulty level and won’t let you shoot the zombie developers at the end. Still love playing though.
I might only have played this game for 2 days , but during that time it was one of the best mobile games I every played and is worth the price. It might be a tiny review but I don't want to spoil it for you. Epically all the random a counters you can get with your groups. Honestly I give this 5 stars because it the best mobile game on my phone
Is probably the best phone game I’ve ever played. Hands down if you love zombies and wanna travel and try to survive this is for you. Buy it now before this app won’t be updated and can no longer be played. I hope they make more games like this. Thank you guys for the memories.
Organ Trail is a simplistic game but it’s entertaining. I see a lot of people criticizing the game for it’s lack of content, but I don’t understand why it’s an issue for something to be simple especially if the developers intended it that way and executed it correctly.
The game has great music and is generally well realized. However, after buying the Director’s Cut expansion, it froze when I reached the final screen (“You entered the Safe Haven”). Essentially beat the entire game, including the new final boss, only for it to freeze. Not the best programming for such a simple game. Were it not for that, I would’ve given it four stars because it is fun and overall I think they did a great job.
Put many hours on the PS4 and PC version! Game is very addicting. My only complaint about the mobile version is that I wish there was touch screen joystick controls. Shooting and walking around by tapping the screen can be really difficult and has caused me a few accidental deaths.
This game is great. Really fun and worth the money and the expansion packs. The new updates make the game 5x more fun but improvement is still available. Maybe gun upgrade? Or more car upgrades? Amor or upgradable characters would be nice. Other than that this is my favorite game I recommend to all my friends!
This is one of my favorite games, and since I can airplay this game on a tv, this is a great party game! Just have your friends pick a name, AirPlay the game on a tv, and play with your friends, and let them make some choices! This is one of the BEST games I have EVER played before, and I am a huge gamer. If I could, I would give it 10 stars!
I went to load up my campaign on the "Suicide difficulty" and when I loaded up the file, I was greeted by my car flying backwards very fast (I was halfway through campaign). Flying past D.C. And outside the map. When I read the "Miles traveled" indicator, it read: "Miles traveled: -368" Can we fix his please? XD
I’ve had this game in my library for years now and I still find myself downloading it and then playing it over and over again. I hope they come out with some sort of sequel.
Fun, good balance of frustrating and easy, but watch out! You could lose all your hard earned progress to a bug. I was more than halfway through, doing great on suicide mode and when I try to start back up, all of a sudden I have to administer medicine, which I already did days ago, and I'm on the road again at -915 miles when I had left off in a town some 4,000 miles in. Guess I won't be investing anymore time in this game!
I have played this game for over a year and still not bored with it. There is so much to do and to keep you busy and it gets WAY better if you buy the expansion packs. The game has a lot of gameplay and is definitely worth 5$ and should be priced more
The Organ Trail is awesome, I love how the game features routes across the United States. The locations are very accurate too, my favorite is The Ozarks, they have a very nice 8-bit art style. I’m still playing this game through 2020! I love everything else in the game too, but my favorite is the traveling!
I love this game but I have firetrap and was hoping if you'd get the same one if you have the game to play with your friends and family and friends and family game and your phone is the best one game ever made you think you are cool but I don't like that you are the one to get your phone and family and friends and I don't have friends or family or other stuff so just shut upppp!!!!
This is an outstanding game! It combines the retro feel of the classic it parodies while filling it with zombie genera content around every corner. It is however a bit disappointing that the endgame score is simply the difficulty level now. The detailed score breakdown made the journey to the end more memorable.
I bought this game a few months ago just to have some games to play while I conserve data, and the organ trail has been a great way for me to pass time at work. I do wish people would stop complaining about the DLC price though. I mean come on! It's cheap.
The expansions are kinda redundant. Adding fishing, different paths, it should be in the default game. But totally worth $3.00, it's addictive and fun, but having multiple paths (defaultly) would add to the replayablity and make the game more worthwhile. The game deserves more love, but the expansions are Linda stupid for the most part. 4 1/5 stars
This spin-off of the Oregon Trail is absolutely fantastic. It is a great strategy game and requires A LOT of planning ahead if you're going to survive. Many obstacles occur that make the game never get old. I have yet to make it to Washington D.C. But with the love I have for this game, I can do it. The game was worth the $2.99 I spent.
I expected an Oregon trail knock off and was very happy to discover how wrong I was. The random encounters can range from funny to sad, the tombstones are always funny, and the variety of minigames kept me entertained throughout the entire experience.
Everything about this game is very well done. For how simple it is, it’s still expansive on options. I enjoy the occasional humor and i think the images for each location are so good! The music is also very fitting. Big fan:)
awesome game but since the latest update came out the game crashes everytime I start campaign or endless. However Clements quest works fine, I just wanted to get my money's worth in this one. Please update so IOS 6 is capable to run the while game.
This is an amazing game. However, a note to parents beware there is a bit of swearing in this game. So far I have seen the D-word, S-word and f bomb a few times, so just keep that in mind before you let your kids play it.
This game is amazing and can be play multiple time without being bored. It takes awhile but that what fun about it. If you play on normal hard or expert mode it will glitch not letting you get your win making it some what upsetting.
I'm sorry that I do not like the game. I was so taken by the original back in 1980's that I thought this would be great. I cannot maneuver it very well. I run out of supplies often and the zombies appear way too many times for me. I can't repair the car. I'm stuck. And I'm on EASY. I'm glad everyone else appears to be having fun.
