Needs update
I’ve had this app for a couple of years now and at first it was running smoothly but as of lately, the entire app is faulty. When trying to request a new password, you have to call the help center because the link never sends an email. When you call the help center, they’re helpful but it takes some time to get through. Once receiving a new password, trying to log in and create a new password, the app doesn’t even allow the keyboard to come up so that you can change it. It’s best if you just call and add whatever you want onto you account. Hopefully this will be able to get fixed

Completely inaccessible, and unusable to screen reader/voiceover users on iPhone
I downloaded this app, thinking that it would be a much easier way for me to pay the tolls that my car collects while it is running down the PA Turnpike. I’ve never once received an invoice in the mail from Penn Dot indicating how much I owe. Boy was I sadly disappointed when I open this app and could not do anything. What is a blind person to do? I understand that it may be counterintuitive that a blind person is trying to pay turnpike tolls when they can’t drive, but, that is a non sequitur. Just because I can’t drive a car. Does it mean that I cannot own a car which, I happen to own three. I love cars. I love my cars I love being able to own cars and I don’t want to do anything illegal like skipping my turnpike tools. Thankfully, the help center was accessible enough for me to be able to get the phone number so that I could pay over the phone with a credit card. I really think the PA Turnpike which, is a state run institution that uses federal dollars. Therefore the Americans with disabilities act applies. Please revamp this app so it can be completely accessible to screen reader users, as is lawfully mandated by the Americans with disabilities act of 1990.

Easy to Navigate, but could be Better
Was excited to see this app become available so that I could monitor my account more closely. My first tour of the app was a run through of all the features and services offered. I had no problems with login and setting up the Face ID, which worked without issue. I see that others in the past had issue with this but it all worked well for me. I was pleased to see all my account information appeared as it should have and was current with recent changes made. I didn’t attempt to make any payments or change credit card Info., so I can’t speak on that. But what I can offer up to make the experience better is in the transaction area. It would be so much better to show the vehicle alias (car type) assigned to each transponder. When tracking transactions your back and forth trying to match transponders to specific cars on you account. This experience could be much better.

App works, I think
The app seems to work. The only problem I see now is that the type is huge so it’s hard to read at times. I wrote a review a couple of weeks ago saying that the app doesn’t work at all. The developer responded saying the system was down when I was accessing it and could I revise my review. Okay, I could do that — except that this stupid Apple Apps system won’t let me edit my original review (I’ve spent about 20 minutes now trying to make it work) so I just have to write a new one. SO…. with having to try to get signed up on the web and on my phone, having to call in to a live customer service rep to get pay-by-plate transferred to my new Ez-pass account, trying to edit my review, etc., I’ve spent over 3 hours on all of this. Not EZ.

Objectively terrible application
I don’t know where to begin. Even if the services were functional (spoiler alert, they’re not), the menu is so difficult to use, the text is so small, and the app is organized so poorly that one cannot even reach the failure points with ease. In trying to convert from Toll By Plate to EZ Pass, the user reaches an infinite spinning wheel on submission. User entered values reset arbitrarily at many points during the process. New vehicles cannot be added in the app. These are just the explicit problems, which don’t include silently failing processes. I have never in my life seen an intern develop an application quite this bad. This is either intentionally so terrible that it’s goal is to PREVENT users from paying their tolls, or the leadership that hired the developers have failed entirely to screen the applicants, only to have hired literal cardboard boxes that hav

Poor user interface and function
The biggest missing functionality is that license plate images from charges cannot be viewed. Also, the web site listed on the invoices was not functioning so it’s not accessible. The UI is poorly thought out. For example, notifications hide account information on the “hamburger menu home + home button on the footer bar” screen. I talked with an operator to find it. Even so, they kept saying it was at the top of the screen and it wasn’t. It turns out it was covered by the notification and they didn’t even know that was a possibility. The system automatically sends a notification when the account is created, so it’s there mostly every time for a new user.

Great new app. Seems to work well and all info is correct. I agree with other review that it would be nice to correspond transponder to vehicle or license plate so you can determine which vehicle made the trip. Love the ability to take photo of license plate though i haven’t tried it. Had difficulty updating contact info for authorized contacts (changing email of secondary user and adding mobile phone for primary and secondary user). Just didn’t work. Not sure if a faulty feature or something not quite active. Would be nice to use.

Version 2.0.37 fixed the freeze/crash issue!
The development team were so responsive when I communicated to them that the previous version had freezing/crashing issues. They kept me up to date on their progress and asked questions to make sure they understood the details of the issue. This app is in good shape, will endure, and will be reliable as long as there is a tremendous mobile support like the current dev team. Thank you for your prompt responses and a great app!

Idiotic
Stupid system. I travelled a couple days ago. I have only travelled through Pennsylvania once. I’m trying to pay my bill now. I had to type in a very large amount of information: address, credit card number, plate number, driver’s license number, make and model of car, birthdate of your first born child, if you prefer waffles or pancakes for breakfast…the list goes on. Completed all of this, then it is recommended that I download the app. Now it’s saying that I don’t have an invoice yet. Says they will bill me. Shoot. Did I make an error? Did I type in the birthdate of my second born child by accident? Please Pennsylvania, read this and become more like Ohio. Get on, pay when you get off. Done

Great concept, but terrible UI
Got this app to pay a Toll By Plate invoice using my EZ Pass account. Ultimately had to call EZ Pass to get it done. I think this app is a good concept that wasn’t the executed well. It’s difficult to find where you need to go and, like I said earlier, I wasn’t able to find where to enter a TBP invoice number to pay. Called customer service and they said it’s possible, but didn’t explain how. I tried to log into TBP side of the app, but it told me to log into the EZ Pass side to pay an invoice with my account and, like I said earlier, I never found the place to pay it and had to call anyways. To fix it, I think they should add an invoice pay option right on the homepage, that way it’s easy access.

Does not recognize Face ID
(Real review) When logging in to the app, the app says register finger print, but when I log out then back in and try to use fingerprint it crashes! I have an iPhone XS Max with Face ID (the future) and with most apps like this feature and same situation, the app adapts to the situation rise to the occasion! Kudos on making the app and reaching the platform but now it’s time to perform to the users expectations posthaste please! Other than that it does the job.... just my opinion! You might think that oh not a big deal but when I have to take time out of my day to type my password that will probably have forgotten, it takes up time witch takes up money!

Lost/Stolen
The app misleadingly allows you to disable a transponder, while reporting it lost or stolen is a separate selection (and you will be charged $10). This implies that you can simply disable it and presumably re-enable in the future. Customer service indicates that it doesn’t actually doesn’t work this way and once you select this, you have cancelled the transponder, you will be charged $10, and if you don’t get a replacement your account will be closed. My app still shows that I have not reported my transponder lost/stolen but in fact it has been. Fix your App!! Either way would be fine but misleading is not fine. Be clear and by the way save your customer service people hours of explaining this to people.

Bugs, bugs, aggravating bugs.
Does a fine job with displaying and reporting toll usage, but I’ve run into several aggravating bugs. One of the major ones is trying to update your payment info. The credit card number field does not capture input, despite the cursor sliding right. When you tap the button the submit, validation fails. Time to sit on hold again and talk to the customer service reps. Cannot wait. Hats off to the app dev for failing to do even the barest minimum of QA testing. Seriously, how difficult is it to write an automated test suite? Answer: not that hard unless you’re outsourcing your dev work to an offshore body shop.

New payment method
Noticed my account still had my last compromised AMEX card, so I wanted to replace it with the new one. Tried the camera thing because that is what it wanted to use. The APP doesn’t seem to understand the newer metal Platinum cards so I tried manual mode. I entered account number and expiration date. I kept pressing the done button and nothing happened; so I click ton the camera link. There I found a cancel button; none on the manual feature. Clicked the cancel button, the screen changed a little bit the APP was locked; had to kill it. Currently cannot update my CC via the APP.

Might as well use your computer instead
This app barely decent. It looks okay, and is simple enough to navigate, but makes the simplest of tasks more challenging. Forget trying to add a card on this app. I tried multiple cards on different days and it still refuses to work. The app is to make paying them more convenient, and it has only done the opposite for me. Now I have to pull out my laptop and start from the beginning on there, when I should have been able to add my card and make a payment the first time I tried on the app.

useless, frustrating, glitchy nightmare
this app has been the opposite of convenient, as has their website. I answered all questions correctly to retrieve my login information and it said “reset request successful,” yet it takes me back to the same screen and no email option to reset login information. If cannot get into our account, how are we supposed to pay in invoice? I realize there is an option to do so by phone, but if there’s a website and an app, then said website and app should be somewhat, oh, I don’t know… maybe useful and functional! This is absolutely absurd and horrible from a user experience perspective. What awful customer service. If they want people to be able to conveniently pay their tolls, this ain’t it. Don’t waste your time with with this app; it’s confusing, dysfunctional, and wildly unhelpful! Waste of time and phone storage. Super-annoying and buggy. I’d give 0 stars if I could. PA should be embarrassed.

UI issues and Full Prepaid amount not available
Update: if you don’t choose auto renewal with a credit card they charge you $10 for something. Added one star back. Hi, could someone get back to me. I prepaid $35 and only $25 shows up. Thanks. Also, when you put your phone number in to register you can’t hit submit. It is covered up and you have to click off the phone number to see the submit button. Seems like something that would be an easy fix. Thanks!

Keep crashing
This app is good to see all the transactions and keep records of every tolls but it keep crashing and closing on me , which Is frustrating. Then the communications messages I can’t read their response because it’s light yellow with white fonts that’s s another issue I’m having, I would have to go online to read it instead using this app. Please fix that.

Simple Tasks Very Difficult & App is Dysfunctional
This app is not only poorly designed, it rarely functions properly. Much like the DOT itself. Watch out for the auto-replenishment button. Turns itself off without warning then you get charged $10 transponder fee. That little tidbit cost me 2 phone calls, 6 dept. transfers and 2 hours of phone time with EZ Pass customer service. If anyone finds a way to remove payment options let me know. It’s referencing an old credit card but couldn’t find a way to remove it, even when I added other payment options.

Had difficulty adding credit card
I wanted to change my credit card info using the ‘Enter Manually’ option and it was indeed hard manual labor. Took me multiple attempts having to close and open the app several times before I managed to add a credit card. No error message - I entered and verified my entries but the app would just freeze. The app is otherwise pleasant looking and easy to navigate. The website however is pretty ordinary although it works well.

Have fun getting a new password
Went to reset password and no matter what password I put in it told me it was the same as my old one. Convenient now they’ll just send me a bill for as much as they want since they can’t see to make money no matter what. Let’s be honest pay roads are ridiculous to start with. We pay a ridiculous amount off tax for this stuff as is. This shouldn’t be a thing in the first place. Open your call center at a time when people with jobs can actually call you since none off your stuff works

App Refuses to Load
After clicking “I have an invoice, the app immediately crashes and sends me back to my Home Screen. Unfortunately it seems like the website also does not work properly and I am not able to select a state in the state drop-down. Extremely frustrating. I see from another comment there was planned maintenance on December 1 and 2nd, it is now Dec 5 and the app and website are still unusable, and there is no notification indicating that the app or website is currently being worked on or updated.

Not so Easy pass
First off Id like to say Turn Pikes charging you is a sick joke. Secondly I bought an e-zpass because I am tired of having to deal the confusing entries and exits off the turn pike what with gps not making it any easier. Thirdly I have tried on multiple devices on both the website and the app to input my payment information, my card is valid and I have sufficient funds. After sitting pressing the button to add payment for a good half hour I am quite honestly done with this product and I would rather take a train or plane than have to deal with this...

App does not work well
The app is not great. There needs to be a complete overhaul of the basic functionality of the app. With each update one thing is fixed and then another is broken. For instance when attempting to add a card to your wallet the “+” does absolutely nothing and you can’t remove the original payment method. Forcing you to constantly have to check back to the app to make sure you don’t owe money. I think this application would benefit greatly from an overhaul and there needs to be more testing done.

Able to see account, can’t update payment method
As stated. Info was all correct, but wasn’t able to add a new payment method. Card scan didn’t work (chase sapphire reserve), when entering numbers manually the “done” button simply didn’t do anything when pressed. Update: Killed the app, re-launched, card scan still didn’t work but manual entry went just fine. Odd bug?

Rubbish onboarding
Step me through 7 or 8 panels of of form fields (on a phone) like address, phone number, DL number, credit card info, car info, etc and only after I get to the end and submit am I told there is a registration error. Could error message be any more generic? Based on any of the info I entered during my onboarding journey could you not have told me this wasn’t going to work and spare me the aggravation of going back through my information checking for errors? And the aggravation of composing this 1 star review? Good day

App doesn’t work
If you try to make any changes on the app it doesn’t allow you. When you call The workers will fix it but act like you don’t understand how it works ummm yes I do your app is faulty and confusing. You will always have to be on the phone with them for any changes and the changes will not show up on your app. Down loading the “new and improved App now” We will see. If it works I’ll be sure to give a better review. # no new app version and after call no changes on my app.

App has decided to not load!!!!
Unfortunately I cannot give it zero stars, since this will not send without a rating! Until recently, the app was fine, loaded with no problem. It has all of the sudden, decided to time out every time I try to log in. I have called the Ezpass group in PA and they have indicated that the site does not work well with safari!! Imagine that! I can log in on my pc, (an HP product) using Firefox or Microsoft Edge, with no problem at all. The app simply no longer works on my iPad or iPhone!

Not accessible, not functional, pursuing legal action
If this app is funded by taxpayers, we deserve a refund. The garbage fonts are barely legible, contrast is poor, and that’s on the only screen I can get to. This app has been unable to do anything other than take my personal information and lock it behind an account that the stupid API can’t even find. I hope I get taken to jail over unpaid tolls so that I can sue the developers and the state of PA. Special thanks to TransCore in Nashville for not being able to provide a baseline service.

This app is absolutely horrendous, even though I sign in with the exact same credentials on the website , and even after all my credentials worked when I opened it the first time today it will now not recognize any of my credentials. All three were declined as invalid. Then I turned my phone on and off, nope so then I deleted and redownloaded the app 3 times, nope. A giant piece of crap. Don’t know why they even recommend anyone using this. You’re better off just using the website.

Works well. Useful tool to manage toll charges
Bug has been fixed and so far it’s working really well now. It’s a good tool to manage your toll charges. Would love to see the ability to drill down to transactions when clicking on the graph page so you don’t have to then go back and search.

I live in Philly and use ez pass enough to want to be able to maintain my account. Finally there’s an app to do this easily. Not sure if it’s only for folks in PA because this is mighty great and would like to share with friends in other states.

Follow up to my review yesterday. Tried again today. I used the same username/password as yesterday, and, it logged right in. I again enabled Face ID and now that is working as well. I was able to update my vehicles since I traded in one I had listed.

Completely useless
Tried to add my vehicles, tells me they are on another account. Used the app to take photos of my plates, then upload them using the apps software, it populates a completely wrong vehicle for both. Tried to add my credit cards, wont take it. Took a second card, but would not let me sign up for auto pay??? Tried to sign up for EZ Pass Plus, says Forbidden. WTH! Total waste of 30 minutes of my life. Dont bother downloading!!!!!!

Unable to see App Icon for iOS SE devices
Please note I am unable to see the App Icon in my cell phone , every time I need to check the E-Z pass statement I have to open App Store and E Z pass from the App Store. It’s not in any folders too as I checked all of them . Please advise

Down With PennDOT
Attempted to pay my $4.40 bill online, but the website won’t load. Tried paying over the phone, but it won’t accept any of my cards. Tried using this app, but it just crashes after attempting to load for about 5 seconds. Do you not want my money? What am I to do to pay this bill? Have a child and sacrifice them to whatever cryptozoological deity Pennsylvanians worship? Seriously, I’m at a loss here. Get it together.

Absolutely useless
There is absolutely no option to look up any toll fees associated with a license plate unless you already have an account or have an invoice number, neither of which I have. If they would make it so that you could, they could get their money a lot faster. But now, since it’s the weekend, I have to scrap the app and wait until Monday to call the customer support to pay. Garbage app, and completely useless.

Can’t add a payment method
Cool concept but it seems pretty broken. I got a notification that my payment card was expiring so I went in to add a new card. I tapped the “+” and just, nothing. I thought maybe it only allowed one payment method at a time but I also couldn’t delete my expiring card either because a payment method is required.

Has all functionality that i need. But i have just one car, so no tricky use cases for me. Face id had a few glitches, but seems to be working fine in general.

Terrible
Last year I created an account now I type in all my credentials. It won’t allow me to login. I spent two hours trying to figure out how to do this now. Looks like I have to call sad I’ve already said this up with my actual debit card to automatically take it anytime my vehicles go through but somehow it’s not and I’m getting late fees. This should be easy but this is not. This is just a big headache.

Terrible app!
This app needs a major update. Each time I try to log in I get a message that my user name is required, even though it’s already entered! After typing it in I often still the get the message. Also, when I try to input my credit card info the screen freezes and won’t allow me to proceed to make a payment. I’m forced to use the desktop version, which requires me to make a larger payment ($70 minimum vs $35) than I want.

Does not accept credit card info at first.
I have an iPhone XS Max. I tried to enter my credit card (yes it’s a valid working visa) in manually because the photo capture does not work. Unfortunately, when I entered the number, expiration and then click “done” nothing happened for numerous cards. Had to restart app to get it to work.

App won’t even load
I have tried so many times to use this app to update my information, pay tolls, etc but I can’t even get through the login. I put my username/password and when I go to click the login in button it won’t do anything. I have to click it multiple times, sometimes it lets me in and other times it just won’t! I hate this app as it is useless!!!!

Throw the whole app/ company away honestly
Had a toll from Pennsylvania, no problem. However when I called to ask for assistance with paying said toll I was laughed at and belittled by the call assistant on the phone. You would think a company with the subtitle “we bill you” would actually have some common customer service skills. More like “we insult you” when asking simple questions.

Whatever morons designed this app clearly DO NOT want you to pay your toll bills. There is %0 chance to get logged in each and every time just to pay your occasional tool bill UNLESS you pay for an ez pass subscription. So ignore all the info on your mailed paper bill that says you can easily pay on the app…it’s just a sales gimmick to try and get you to pay more for an ez pass subscription. Crooks.

A joke of an app
I AM SO FRUSTRATED WITH THIS DUMB APP. I thought I ADDED everything in terms of payment methods so the E-ZPASS can just take it automatically off my card but NO. Now my registration for my car is SUSPENDED because of this FUGAZY APP. It’s like they set you up to fail and they want you to have issues just so they can cancel your registration. I swear they have this place all figured out so every one of these wack agencies can profit off the poor. I am so DONE.

Where’s the money going?
Certainly not into app development. Maybe they could invest some of that toll revenue into a functional app. Text fields are unreadable if you have dark mode on, the interface is clunky, and buttons don’t work. I can’t even add a new payment method; the plus button glows for a second then disappears. Another great project from the Turnpike.

Frustrating
This app is terrible. The so called update for advance credit card features has disabled the ability to even add a new card. My account is in the negative because I can’t add my new card to it. And can’t do it on the site because for some reason the minimum amount you can put on online is $70 and the minimum on the app is $35 absolutely ridiculous. Test your updates before you put them out.
