I have been using Pango for about 2 years now and they are hands down the best overall site on the internet to buy and/or sell books at. They have a great broad selection with many hard to find titles. You are buying from regular people just like us and none of the large conglomerate dishonest book companies. That means you can actually ask questions about specific books and get direct quick responses, you can see photos of the actual books you are purchasing instead of just a stock photo with a description that says “acceptable” or “good”, you can find prices many times much lower than elsewhere because most sellers are simply clearing out clutter or trying to fund their own personal book collections, you can find many knowledgeable sellers who have been collectors for years, the shipping fees are rock bottom including combined shipping costs and Pango provides top notch respectful and understanding customer service to buyers and sellers right away. You can also message a seller to work out a deal or ask about additional books. ***Here’s an inside tip for any Star Wars literature collectors*** Check out the sellers page called “Mos Crowley Cantina”. Most honest and fair seller of every type of Star Wars literature on the internet! Especially if you’re willing to purchase a bundle. Shoot him a message about his huge inventory on and off the site.
I’ve had this app for about a week and I’m loving it so far! I’ve found some books for super cheap in great condition. I also think that this app is cool because I’ve been finding books that I’ve never heard about before. I will say that most of the selection is older books but there are some people selling the newer popular books too! I just think that the prices are great, especially shipping! I also sell on this app and think it’s pretty easy to navigate through and it’s nice to get a little something for books I don’t read anymore. Since it is a new app, there are always ways for it to improve and here are a few. When you wishlist books, it doesn’t add them right away in the shop portion of the app. I think you have to exit the app and swipe up to restart the app for it to show up or it just shows up whenever. I’ve also found myself accidentally deleting my listing for selling so I think automatic saved drafts of listings you want to sell would be a good idea. Finally, after you look at a certain thread and want to go back to the thread homepage, it takes you back to the top/all the way to the beginning, not where you were before. This makes it so you have to scroll all the way to where you left off or miss threads that people posted. But these are just little nit picky ways to improve an otherwise great app!
I have both bought and sold books on PangoBooks and have been very satisfied! As a buyer, the UI is super easy to understand and find books. Every order is shipped within 3 days, and includes a tracking number. I have one package delayed by usps, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that PangoBooks emailed me as soon as it was delayed to explain the next steps. They are a very attentive team to their members. As a seller, it’s just as easy. I’ve sold multiple books already, and I love how PangoBooks deals with the shipping so that all I have to do is stick the label on the package and drop it off! The fees are 20% of your listing price, which I think is a decent amount for how streamlined the app is. My only suggestion for the developers involves the pending PangoBucks. Currently, PangoBooks holds on to your earnings until 3 days after delivery in order to give the buyer time to file any disputes (which I think is great). I think that if the buyer writes a review for the seller, it should release the funds early. I’ve had buyers leave extremely positive and pleased reviews (that even reference the condition of the book), but I’ve still had to wait for my money until after the dispute period.
I found this app about 6 months ago and it is one of my favorites when it comes to books! 1) Buy… you can browse and buy books from all over and in all sorts of conditions. I have purchased several and been blown away by the quick shipping and friendly members! And I love helping out my fellow book readers! 2) Sell… It took a little while to get on board with selling, only because I wasn’t sure what to expect. But after trying book buyback options on other apps, I concluded that this one is an amazing arrangement. The seller can take photos, add information, and set their own price on the app. They can even set up sales! The shipping is paid for by the buyer and a shipping label is provided by PangoBooks. Easy Peasy! 3) Dream… Outside of the normal books are dreams concept… you can make “selves” of books to track TBR dreams or watch books for sale to see if the seller has any sales pop up. The books are endless! Excellent app, no issues, great customer support, and amazing content and opportunity!
There are so many selections on the app and the community is just fantastic as they are also avid readers who understand your love for books. It’s also extremely easy to post books you want to sell though, it is a bit more difficult to be able to get that book to sell. The main reason being there are more sellers than there are buyers on the app currently. A lot of the people on the app are ones trying to get rid of books but they also buy from other sellers while there are only very few people who sign up to actually buy books. I actually feel the prices are very reasonable especially the shipping (compared to apps like Mercari). As a buyer and seller I really wished that I could split my earnings on different books unfortunately, the app only lets you use all your savings on the whole purchase when I just want to use some and save some money for a different purchase. Another thing is unfortunately if a buyer reviews their purchase you still have to wait three days til you get your earnings. I wish they’d take after Mercari where as the buyer is rating their package they can also confirm receiving their package so that sellers can instantly get paid.
Tried this app out with skepticism, but wasn’t disappointed
I learned about this app through a Facebook add and decided to try it out of curiosity. Given the relatively low user base and the questionable nature of most FB adds, I was a bit skeptical and fully prepared to be scammed. I purchased a copy of Milton’s “Paradise Lost” for $1 (plus ~$4 of taxes and shipping), and was pleasantly surprised when the book arrived at my doorstep in fantastic condition. Obviously, not all buying experiences will go exactly as this one did, but I have confidence to buy from this app again after that transaction. Technically, the app could use a few tweaks here and there to make the service a little more seamless. For instance, finding your purchases and accessing a tracking number takes some searching, even after I had done it a few times. Placing that option a little more prominently on the hot bar could help. The forums are a great idea, but clicking off of them resets you to the top of the page, making scrolling to read more than the first few posts a bit frustrating. Overall though, this app is one that I will continue to use in the future, and look forward to seeing many more people use it as well!
Great App but seller rating and shipping needs to better
I really love this app to purchase books as I prefer to buy used for cost purposes. Shipping cost can be a little steep in my opinion. It adds up when your trying to purchase from multiple sellers and doesn’t make it a good deal anymore. Because of that I often find a seller who I can bundle books with or who offer a deal like a percentage off or free shipping. Rating a seller should also be allowed if an order is not fulfilled. For example, I purchased from a seller who then took over a week to acknowledge my order after I reached out. I was told it would be shipped next day. 10 more days go by I reach out again with no response and then find the seller has put their account on vacation. I have no way to flag this issue as a potential fraudulent account or rate them so others know this person is a poor seller. This seller had 4 rarer books listed which makes me wonder if they were just a fraudulent account. One good thing is you are able to easily cancel and get your money back in this situation which is why I still prefer to use this app.
This app is my newest obsession. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences so far. There’s a great little community of people and I’ve discovered books I’ve never heard of before. It’s not as overly saturated as eBay so it feels like your books have a better chance of selling here. I’ve made a few sales already, had a great experience with a kind seller, and the PangoBooks team helped me sort out a partial refund on a bundle I goofed up on as a seller. My favorite feature has got to be the Twitter-like section. You can let people know you’re running a sale, leave reviews on books, and can put up an ISO of a book you’re looking for! I’ve discovered several new shops from this! Besides some little things that could be added to the app, like refreshing the page and leaving a review for buyers, this app is terrific. I want to share it with everyone but also keep it a secret so it doesn’t get harder to buy and sell on there lol!
I have a huge book collection and have started selling them through the PangoBooks app. It gets you a little more for your books though parting is such sweet sorrow. I can’t take them with me and like to see them go to a good home and not chucked out in a yard sale after I am gone. The app is for person to person sales and it has the advantages of putting you in contact with like minded book lovers. I always include a card and a bookmark with my sales. There’s nothing like receiving a book in the mail especially with a little something extra. Easily the best way to sell your books online but needs a wider audience. It’s intuitive and easy to use. You get a fair price for your books rather than cents on the dollar. The only improvements I would hope for though I don’t know if it’s possible, would be a chat/ discussion room though that might create a an admin headache and also a way of sorting my page into catagories.
I have been so delighted with my experience buying books on this app! In recent years the price of used books has skyrocketed, and Pango is the first place in a long while where I have actually found really great deals! I have also had a great experience with all of the sellers. Most of them have been super friendly and swift shippers, and all of them have shipped me great books! My one big gripe and the reason for only 4 stores is the deep frustration I feel every time I leave a review for the seller. The text box where you are meant to type up your review is covered over by the popup keyboard on your iPhone—making it impossible to see what you are typing. I’ve tried to get around this by typing up a review in the notes app to cut and paste but I’m unable to paste it into the app. It’s super frustrating trying to type a message that you can’t see. I beg of you developers, please find a way to fix this! It’s a little thing but causes big frustration in the moment.
I have been using the PangoBooks app for over 2 years now and I can say that it is the best book-buying/selling app around! It is easy to navigate and every customer service member has been understanding, courteous, and helpful. Bonus: you can post and read other’s reviews and there are opportunities to interact with other users if you’re looking for a certain book or just chat books in general. I personally use the app to build up and occasionally downsize my personal library and then buy more! I would recommend this app for all types: book lovers young and old, people getting back into reading, parents looking to build their child’s library, educators, book collectors, etc. If you are still thinking about trying the app- THIS is your sign to take the dive! I hope you love it as much as I and so many others do :)
I’ve been using PangoBooks for awhile now. It’s easy to list books for sale, and it’s easy to control sales and discounts. However, as a seller, even with all notifications turned on, there’s no badge notifications on the iPhone. For example, if I sell a book, I’ll get a notification in the Notification Center on my Lock Screen and via email, but the app does not show a number for notifications. As a buyer, that exact issue is what happened to a seller who I purchased from but cancelled my order after waiting 7 business days, and sent 2-3 messages to the seller. After the cancellation, about 2 days later, the seller responded apologizing siting they had not received notifications of a sale or messages until they checked their inbox. Overall the app is a good experience, and the inventory available through sellers is amazing. Just the notification system needs a little improvement.
I’ve been using this app for about 6 months now and overall I really love it. It’s really easy to search for and purchase books and I’ve had really great experiences with almost all of my purchases. The one thing I don’t really like is that the app seems glitchy when loading my wishlist. I have an extensive wishlist (a few hundred books long at least) and whenever I try to scroll through it to clear out the books that have been sold so that I can whittle it down, it will show me my few most recent adds and then will rapidly flicker up some books are on my wish list while not actually letting them load and eventually only pulling up some of my oldest wishlist books. Ive noticed this only seems to be a problem in the app and not if you access PangoBooks in a browser but the app is what I use most frequently, and I would really like to be able to see my full wishlist in the app.
I’m an avid reader and often find myself needing to unhaul books that I’ve already read but maybe didn’t enjoy a bunch or books I just think others would enjoy more. I love to list tries books on there and then use the money to buy more books for me to read. I don’t have a large social media following anywhere but have sold more than half of the books I 1st listed in around 1 month which I think is fairly good for no marketing. The support team is great as well always answering all of my questions timely and nicely. The books from other sellers are almost always listed accurately and if they are not even you receive them support is more than willing to help you out. If you’re an avid reader or haves an avid reader in your life I would highly highly recommend this app!
I just started using PangoBooks a couple of weeks ago as I’m starting to collect hardcovers of some of my favorites to display and read in the future on my bookshelves. I found a lot of books also on Mercari but they have so many fees that even if I had to pay slightly more for a book on PangoBooks, I did instead of paying a fee which didn’t go to the seller. I also like that it’s purely boos and I’m able to filter through better with options like hardcover to narrow down my search. The sellers I’ve communicated with have been nice even if I didn’t end up purchasing from them. I like the notifications about prices being discounted, sales and free shipping. Really glad I found PangoBooks, will continue to use them as my primary source for collecting books. Might even decide to sell on there.
I love books, and I love selling books on other selling apps, so I figured PangoBooks was right for me! I was right, and it’s such a refreshing take on a selling app. The community of sellers seems fairly nice as well, it feels like a space for people who truly love books to share that love. I will say the app doesn’t look as clean as others. Some issues that I have (that aren’t really issues, just things I’d like to see renovated) are: - the way pictures are uploaded to listings. I’d like to add multiple at the same time - the feed/shop dynamic seems too clunky, and it kinda overwhelms you. - the feeds/shop reload even when you don’t want too. It just gets annoying after a while when you’re just scrolling to see what’s out there. - the ability to add more “bookish” things- like stuff/merch that comes with book subscription boxes? I know these have a decent reselling market on other apps, it would be cool to add that to this app. But that would mean adding another option besides media mail. But what I REALLY like is the shipping aspect. I love how it’s immediately media mail, and you can print labels from the app. I also like how if you do free shipping as a seller, it’s taken out of your earnings, so you don’t have to take it out of your own (in real life) pocket to buy a label. So excited to sell more on PangoBooks!
I am an avid EBay and Poshmark seller, yet always struggled to sell books on those platforms due to the limitations of their descriptors/variety of other listings. I also always hated to donate books or sell to Half-Price Books (or others) because I was only making cents back on books I paid good money for. PangoBooks was the solution I was looking for! It’s really easy to list items. I particularly enjoy the option to scan the barcode and have PangoBooks fill in details about the book you’re listing. Selling is a breeze as well; once someone purchases from you, the label is available in multiple ways. I am very pleased with this process. I haven’t purchased anything yet, but there are tons of great options, including many new releases and harder to find classic editions of books.
I was looking for a new place to sell and buy books and a friend suggested this app to me. Love how easy it is to use and they provide shipping labels so you can package easily and quickly. Makes buying books easy too with your information ready to go when you want to buy. Only issue I have is getting funds transferred to my bank and the service fee. For each purchase they take 20% of purchase price which cuts in a lot, so be sure to price accordingly. And while I understand waiting for buyers to receive package before depositing funds, the transfer to bank option has been broken for months. So I have to wait weeks to have access to my money then can’t even transfer to bank and have to use PayPal and pay more fees to get my money. Not a big deal, but can be annoying at times. Overall, small issues, but be aware when using the app!
I love shopping Pango books. It’s a community of caring bibliophiles in which you may even make a few friends. All the sellers I have patronized have been responsive, fast shippers and careful packers. Some go the extra mile and enclose bookmarks and thank-you notes. The customer service is outstanding, too. They’re friendly and follow-up on inquiries extremely fast. I live where there are no indie bookstores nearby, and used books are not too plenty apart from the popular blockbuster selections. Pango brings the world of books to me, including first UK editions, which I often prefer for one reason or another. Most selections are quite affordable. Be sure to message sellers with any questions you have prior to a sale. I have found them to be most accommodating and eager to please.
I’ve been using the PangoBooks app to sell and buy books for two years. It has worked very well for me especially as a platform to sell my books. They have continued over the two years I’ve been using the app to make improvements to make it easier to list and find books. They are also very quick to respond to any issues I’ve had in the past and in getting them resolved. It is a very user friendly app and I recommend it for anyone looking to buy or sell books on the internet. The only con I can see is that it isn't a very well known app and probably doesn’t get the traffic that some better known book apps get. Hopefully this will come in time as the word continues to spread!
Allow Bulk Purchases/Standard Shipping to a Specific Weight
I was going to order the rest of a series (7 books) that I needed but since they were from different sellers I was going to have to do separate transactions for every seller along with widely varying shipping costs. I ended up only buying one book, which had to be cancelled and rebought because the shipping label PangoBooks made the seller was not enough to cover the actually costs of shipping the book even in the lightest packaging. This app could benefit from a standard shipping weight up to a certain weight and then charge more of it weighs more. I lost my welcome discount since that order was cancelled and was lucky enough to find a work around and use the “pangobucks” so that I wasn’t spending even more over having to reorder the book with new shipping costs I was already adjusting to.
So far I like the app. It’s been great for buying. Selling is kinda hit or miss, I don’t make much of anything since most want free shipping and a sale as well as the fees but it’s something! Very easy to use. I buy more often than sell so not a big deal. Few things I would recommend : - I wish they had a system for sellers to rate buyers as well so everyone can get a rating started. - Release funds sooner if buyer rates as previous reviewers have mentioned. If they don’t put a rating, maybe make an automated system to rate after a few days? - Putting a “see all” button near the sections for “New listings from Pangoers you follow” would be great. I would love a feed that shows just new books of people I follow. ETA: love PangoBooks for listening to the customer feedback! You guys are awesome, keep up the great work!
You’re buying real books from real people at a usually discounted price! The quality of the books is typically fantastic unless otherwise specified by the seller. It is difficult to get interaction for your own books after the first few hours as the app works like a social media platform. And my “books you might like” don’t align up with what I picked as my reading interests in the beginning. But as I’ve searched for more books, that’s becoming less of an issue. My only complaint is that I don’t see the point of having a like button as well as a wishlist button. It feels redundant. Overall, this is a great place to thrift books, but if you’re just starting out selling, don’t expect this to become a sustainable business very quickly. I mainly use this app to get rid of old books
Overall, I love the concept and the app. It’s a great way to give your books a new home and make some money on the side. There are really only two things I’ve noticed since using it. The first is when I tried to edit a listing and add more photos, it removed all the other photos and just left the new one. I tried to edit it again but then it brought all the old picks back and didn’t include the new one. It was very strange. Secondly, I wish they required people to list more than one photo. I bought something that was listed as ‘like new’ condition but when it arrived it had a public library stamp on the top and a rip in the dust jacket. This was not Pango’s fault at all but requiring more than one picture night help prevent things like that in the future.
I love this app! Makes the purchasing process, for the most part, so much smoother and faster. However, lately it keeps closing repeating when I’m searching for a book or trying to message someone. And after the update I can’t figure out how to purchase a single book from its individual page. It just sends me to my cart where I then have to go find that book. Kind of a hassle. DISLIKE: I have found that after the update I can no longer purchase a listing from the listing’s page. It sends me to my cart which I have a lot of stuff saved in so I have to sift through everything just to find that one listing to purchase. Why can we no longer purchase a listing directly from its page?
I just listed 8 of my books for sale. While I haven’t sold any so far, I am optimistic. I really like the idea of simply putting your book in a padded envelope, printing the shipping label and dropping it off at the post office and getting paid. As a buyer, I love the selection and prices are great. I have already purchased a book I was looking for at great price. Just a suggestion, it would be great if PangoBooks were to incorporate VIDEOS so that sellers can sell faster. Both Poshmark and eBay have this feature in their listings. While this feature wouldn’t suit all listings, it would be great for illustrated books, children’s books, how-to books, etc. A 15 second clip is sufficient. All in all, PangoBooks is something worth exploring.
Ive tried a LOT of selling apps, and PangoBooks is one of the best by far. As a buyer, I can find great deals on books, shipping cost is low since they use media mail and theres no extra fees like other apps have. As a seller, its so easy to complete transactions, communicate with buyers, and print labels to ship out and the selling fees are very reasonable. I had an issue recently and the support team got back to me quickly and did more for me than I had even asked for, which is rare even among well know selling sites. Whether you are looking to make some extra cash with your old books OR you are looking for new and exciting reads, download this app and try it out! So great!
Love Pango. Love both selling and buying books on there. The app has come a long way with the latest updates, still little things here and there that could be better, but to me the biggest annoyance is truly the release of your money, once you’ve sold a book. - it should be just like Poshmark: once it’s delivered, buyer has 3 days to look it over and accept; if they don’t accept, money is released automatically. If they DO accept before then, money should be released immediately. - that means they have inspected the item and are happy with it, so why is my money sitting in the abstract for THAT LONG?? Lol please fix this, guys. Another thing is, you can turn off notification for most things EXCEPT when someone wishlists your books, which is the thing you get notified for the most. Lol Otherwise a great app.
I have been using Pango Books for about 2 months now, and it has been amazing! Before Pango Books, I hadn’t sold any of my used books and they were pilling up! When I joined this app, it was soo easy. I was nervous at the beginning because of my lack of experience, but the app made listing, selling, and shipping the books so easy! Now after two months, I have sold almost all of the books I wanted to sell. The customer service team is amazing and very kind. The app also has a very useful and knowledgeable help center that helps you with all your potential needs and questions. As a seller and a buyer, this app is the perfect and easy place for doing both of those things.
This app is great! I am so glad that I found PangoBooks. The app is very user friendly and what is even better is you know exactly what the book looks like before you purchase. Being able to see the condition of a “used” book is great! Another great thing about PangoBooks is all the different things the app has. There is a book finder, various different categories for searching for books, and even their own form of store credit, all in ONE app! As a used book enthusiast, knowing where my books are coming from and the quality that they’re in is very important. Overall, PangoBooks is the perfect app for book lovers and for people just starting to read!
Really enjoy using this app to find books on my TBR! A couple suggestions from the user experience perspective. Allow me to search for multiple books at once. Perhaps have a ISO list we can add in the app and then show us relevant book sellers that have multiple of those books. If I select a book show me all the different options of other books that I could buy with it rather than limiting me to just that seller. Have more filtering options after clicking on a hashtag eg by super fast seller. Have tags on the book pictures that can be added for popular book clubs eg Reese’s book club or botm rather than just having the hashtag. If you provide me with an email I can send more suggestions as they come to me. Overall love the app though!!
Overall I love this app. It’s very easy to use and navigate. Listing books only takes a few seconds, which is a nice contrast to some other platforms out there. Linking your PayPal or bank account is also simple. There are a few technical issues that can be frustrating. Sometimes buttons don’t work, and occasionally when I’m filling out information on the book I’m listing, the text will disappear and I’ll have to start over. These are minor inconveniences that I’m sure will be worked out over time. I also wish there was a way to see and edit your followers/following list or the lists of other users. If there is a way to do that, I haven’t noticed it. I enjoy it overall and I’m happy I found it!
While I still like ebooks, there’s nothing like reading from a physical copy. I personally prefer buying secondhand but I can never get the recent releases that way. I love that I can get both recent and classics on the marketplace. The prices are decent and depending on who you purchase from, the books are in amazing condition. The app itself makes it SO easy to sell your own books. I hate having to put descriptions on anything I sell in a marketplace but the scanning feature make it so easy to list as many books as you can. Tracking is also incredibly easy. I love using PangoBooks and it has quickly become by primary place to purchase books.
I’ve been on this app for about a year as both a purchaser and a seller and I have been loving my experience. The books are reasonably priced and good quality. They also have a great selection of special editions. They recently introduced “shelves” which take a bit to load but are a nice way to organize your wish lists. I’ve never had a bad experience with a seller and the way the selling system is structured makes it difficult for people to rip you off. As a seller my experience has also been nothing but positive. Selling is easy to set up. The pricing system giving suggestions minimizes research on what to price things based off of condition. The market of interest on the app is less of any book per topic but more of a popularity contest. More obscure books or older books take months to sell. For super popular books, the market is over run with 100+ copies. But if you don’t have a time limit and your books are well priced, this is a great selling platform. I recommend this app regularly but I do not recommend if you’re under a book buying ban! 😅
I’ve been on a search for books to complete many of my incomplete series. My go-to online apps have been on eBay, Mercari, and Facebook Marketplace. I downloaded PangoBooks to see if they had any of the other books that I couldn’t find. Surprised to say that some of the sellers had them… and for cheap prices! I love how this app is purely dedicated to books. I don’t have to filter out items, which makes searching so easy. Also, the sellers I’ve dealt with really care about the books. Every package I’ve received so far had each book individually wrapped and protected. I’ve been in a downward spiral of book buying since I’ve had this app. 😅 Future users beware!
This is a great app for buying books. The process is easy and the prices tend to be cheaper than elsewhere. Sometimes they don’t have any copies of the book I’m looking for, but that’s going to be the case for any new marketplace that’s still growing. I do have a few suggested improvements, however. -Being able to search by ISBN would make finding a book much easier. -Being able to click on a picture to make it bigger and be able to zoom in for more detailed photos. -Being able to leave/receive buyer feedback. This would allow first time sellers to have a rating and appear more trustworthy to buy from.
I joined PangoBooks in March of this year, and so far, I have enjoyed the dynamic of the app. I mainly sell books rather than buy them, so it's nice to see others interact with your page and books. The selling process is very simple and something I look forward to. PangoBooks has become one of my favorite apps. The books are at a great price, and I love how easy it is to communicate with a buyer and seller. In the point of view of a seller, the app is accommodating and reasonable and very user friendly. Putting books in my store and seeing how others have enjoyed them is a great reward. I’m glad I found this app and I hope others are enjoying it as well!
I’ve had boxes of books under my bed for a long time because I wasn’t sure how to get them into the hands of people that would enjoy them. Then along comes Pango Books! Perfect! This app has been an easy way for me to quickly list books without the overwhelming process involved in other selling apps - scanning the ISBN to auto-populate the book info is a huge win! And I’m actually having fun listing and packaging books! Thank you, Pango! One note for developers: not sure if it’s just my phone or what but my only frustration is when I’m typing in the condition details or tags, the text field is mostly concealed by the keyboard.
I absolutely love this app. I own hundreds of books and sometimes in order to make room for new books I have to get rid of other books. I’ve seen BST groups on Facebook but I never knew how much I should charge for shipping, and on the occasions where I wanted to purchase, I didn’t feel comfortable just sending money to a stranger and hoping that they’d sent me what I paid for. This app takes care of both of those issues for me. It’s super easy to list and sell books as well as purchase. I’d love it if eventually we could sell other book related items like the things that you get in book subscription boxes that you might not want to keep.
My daughter told me about this app when I admitted I was going to have a yard sale to reduce my book collection. It’s very user friendly, and I love being able to simply print a shipping label straight from the app and tape it to my package. It’s super easy to sell books! The only minor issue I’ve had is some of the ISBN codes or manual entries won’t populate books. It doesn’t happen a ton but around 4-5 times for me in approximately 80 listings. I’ve found the same books on there by other sellers with the exact same ISBN number, so I’m guessing it’s just a glitch. I was still able to list the book…I just had to do more manual entry. No biggie in the grand scheme of things.
I use a few different consignment resale apps, and while this is the only one I use specifically for books, it’s the most user friendly one by far! I listed several books when I first downloaded it and sold 4 within the first 2 days. If your book has a barcode on it, you just scan it and the app populates all of the details for you. My only critique is that it’s difficult (for me personally) to print the shipping labels - I end up having to screenshot them on my computer and paste them into a word document, I can’t just print them straight from the link provided. No big deal, just something to note!
I came across this app via Instagram ad and I’m so glad I did. It’s made book buying so affordable and accessible for me - I love it! It’s also fun selling books. I understand why the low prices and small user base can seem “scammish” to new users, but honestly I’ve never had a bad experience. A lot of users, myself included, simply just want to make room for new books on their shelves while also gifting another person the joy of a new read. With each of my purchases the sellers have been great communicators and fast shippers, not to mention my books have always arrived in fantastic condition. Excited to continue fueling my bookworm hobby!
The amount of books I buy is insane. Which means i am constantly going through my books trying to make room for new one. This app makes it easy to do that. It’s easy to use/ navigate and the shipping prices are also great! Every other app I’ve used in the past seems to charge way more for the shipping than the actual cost of the book. Making it not worth it sometimes for the buyer nor the seller. If your a buyer of books and want a good deal, or heck if you just went a little crazy and bought every book you came across for a year straight & need to get rid of some (Me lol) then this app is for you!
I was looking for ways to sell books online other than on the famous bidding platform. I found PangoBooks, read many excellent reviews and tried it. What can I say: I love it! It is so super easy. Intuitive, and the pricing is fair. Just snap a picture or two of the book you want to sell, set a price (and you get some advice on current pricing to help with it), and wait to see if someone is looking just for this book. It is fun. The moment you sell a book you get a notification and can print the shipping label. I just sold my second book. I am very happy to have found this app and highly recommend it.
I saw an add on social media for the Pango Books app and decided to try it. It was so much better than I had hoped for! I’ve had it for almost two weeks and have already placed two orders, with more in my cart. The app itself is so user friendly and I can quickly locate the titles I’m searching and find the best deal. The sellers I’ve encountered so far have all been very communicative and ship quickly, most of the time adding small freebies in with the books. I can’t wait to go through my books and start selling so that I can keep up the cycle of sharing used books with the amazing community on Pango.
I’m really enjoying this app, the clear layout makes it very easy and enjoyable to scroll and find all kinds of great books to buy. My only suggestion would be a feature to block certain books or authors from appearing. When you already own a copy of a very popular book in your preferred genre, it’s a bit annoying to see the same book listed for sale over and over again when you scroll through that genre tag. The ability to block certain books or authors would make it much easier to find more books to wishlist and purchase. Otherwise 10/10!
New update is really glitchy. Wishlist no longer updates to indicate when a book is sold or when a price is changed. You have to tap each book individually to see if it’s still available or if the price that is displayed is still the price. Pango as a service is really solid. I sold a book that was lost in the mail and they refunded the buyer and still gave me my share of the sale, which was awesome. BUT the book still shows up in my “Pending Earnings” tab…so it shows that I have pending funds that I’ve already received. The new update did fix some of the previous issues I had with the app…the search and navigation are much improved. I just hope the app does keep taking two steps forward and two steps back.
It’s absolutely shocking how easy they make the selling process. From listing books in seconds to the automatic shipping, it’s about as user friendly and approachable as possible. Plus you can find awesome deals on books. So many friendly people just seem excited to see their books to go to a good home. I just bought a stack of kids books for my toddler and all the sellers messaged me to say how happy they were their kids books are getting new life. It seems sappy but that sort of social connection is so awesome and brings a whole new dimension to the book buying experience. Great app. Get it!
This is a really cool app! As someone who buys many books and never uses an e-reader, I love having a resource to purchase all the books I want in a more affordable way. Users of this app seem to be mostly other readers who keep their books in nice condition. They also list books at very fair prices, unlike eBay. I just hope these things stay as they are after more users hop on. I have a stack of books I’d like to sell so I’ll be trying out the selling feature soon. I do wish there were more search filters and sorting options, and more info on the condition of the books but we are still off to a great start.
5/5 from a seller’s standpoint. 3/5 from the buyer’s. I love that shipping is automatically and fairly calculated in the form of a media mail label that you can print at home and THEN just drop it off in a blue mailbox instead of going to the stinky post office. I wish the search function was a little cleaner when browsing for books to buy. The feed throws me back to the top anytime I click on a listing and go back, instead of saving my scroll-spot, which is just tedious. Also, more than one photo should be required for listings. The product is three-dimensional and should ideally show more than the cover. Because you can’t judge a book by its cover, can you.
