Although my experience with Pickle initially encountered a hiccup, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional service provided by their team. I've been a repeat customer, both in-store and through their app, and recently found myself in a bind when I urgently needed a dress for an event. Due to a miscommunication regarding the dress's location, I was left without one with only an hour before I had to leave. However, the Pickle store team swiftly stepped in to rectify the situation. They reached out to me promptly, offering three alternative dress options similar to what I had originally requested, and astonishingly, the dress was delivered to my house within just 15 minutes. I was deeply impressed by the level of customer service and support extended to me during this stressful time. Despite my initial frustration, the team remained exceedingly apologetic and demonstrated remarkable kindness throughout the ordeal. This experience has truly set a high standard for customer service, and I look forward to continuing my patronage with Pickle in the future, knowing that I'll be in the hands of such an incredible team. Once again, a heartfelt thank you to the Pickle team for their outstanding assistance.
So I really like this app because it has a variety of styles and brands. The problem with this app is the inconsistency between the sellers, availability, and shipping. I placed an order almost 2 weeks in advance and the day before it’s supposed to be shipped. It was canceled. I never received an email or anything! I had no idea the item was even cancelled until it was too late. On top of that the attendant basically said just go find another one. They don't even give you an option to rate the seller like its suppose to. Then theres the 1000 dollar shipping insurance which is sooooo terrible because you basically cant rent anything good if your not in new york. The majority of the sellers on their aren't even in state, so good luck renting anything you actually like of quality. They have the WORST app glitches and most of the items you save either get removed or the renter is away. This app should focus on the quality more and maybe they would see a more rapid expansion because they just lost a customer who would have spent majority of my money there!
I invited my younger cousin with my referral link. Since she is younger I gave her my other email address to use. I then noticed I received 0 reward points. Because of this I emailed the support team and was helped by “Brian” he said that since my email that I was emailing him on was similar to the email she signed up with it is flagged as one person creating multiple accounts. He also stated how the name in the profile was nothing like the one in the email. I thought this was absurd!! For one, this app is getting more people by this. 2, why should he be questioning the difference between the email address and the name in the profile? Before this whole situation I had also emailed again about 2 of my friends using the referral link but once again I got 0 points! For one of them he gave me the points but for the 2nd he said that the account was signed up with the email address I was emailing him on so I am not allowed to receive any points! I think this is astonishing. He did assure me that the reward system is working but I do not believe it one bit!! I will no longer be telling people good things about this app!!
Obsessed with this app! I’ve rented out my closet and rented clothes over 100+ times. It’s a genius way to make some passive income on your closet! Also great for renting clothes for events or nights when there’s “nothing in your closet”. I tell all my friends about this app and i’ve been on it since 2022 :) It’s been amazing to see the growth of the app and getting more attention. Also the pickle team is fantastic, honest, and any small issues i’ve had over the 100+ rentals they’ve helped solve. 10/10 recommend!
I love Pickle as a concept, but the app needs a ton of updates in order to make it easier for people to use. Some issues I’ve had as an “owner” on the app: -notifications of messages with individuals are automatically toggled off for me. so I’ve missed messages before and this caused issues with renters who weren’t able to receive a prompt response from me. this also means my “response time” is inaccurate. “response time” and other stats have been added to the app, when they should be fixing other issues instead of spending time adding stats that can come later -I needed to delete a few items because they were no longer available, but the app kept timing out. a renter put an offer on one of those items and I had to decline it. this causes issues for me, because that will increase my “cancellation rate” on the app, even though I tried to delete the two items from my closet several times. -the “looking for” tab refreshes every time you post a comment on someone’s post and then try to go back to the main page. this is frustrating because then I have to keep scrolling all the way back to the location I was at on that tab in order to post more comments on relevant posts. these are just a few of the issues I’ve encountered and it makes it super frustrating to use the app
I read another review that said this app protects renters not owners and I 100% agree, especially for high quality items. I rented out a top that retails for >$500 and the borrower submitted the wrong address so my top got lost in the mail and Pickle refused to take responsibility even though throughout the app they insist that there is protection for your items. This top is still missing. It’s been over a month now. Pickle refuses to help. They say that if you agree to use their shipping service they don’t need to take any responsibility any more. I also had someone borrow a pair of >$1k shoes and Pickle’s Uber courier service guy picked it up and then a few hours came back to drop them back off to me without checking I was home. He spoke no English and I had no idea why the item wasn’t delivered and the renter was upset. I will no longer use this app
I love pickle and have been renting with them for the past month and a half. I find myself having multiple conversations with the support team because of bugs within the app. Hopefully soon they will have app testing or create a feature for users to report bugs so that they can get some of these changes rolled out. Bug fix suggestions: - You shouldn’t be able to change your counter offer after accepting an order - Users should have an option to rate a renter after the initial prompt goes away (right now you have one chance to leave a review—if you don’t click immediately, you won’t be able to leave a review later)
Pickle is so convenient and helpful. I’ve rented from them many times and every item I get is in excellent condition and the rental process is smooth and easy. I also always get so many compliments on my pickle outfits :). perfect for weddings and special events, will be using frequently!
Absolutely OBSESSED with the whole concept of the app; it’s like having a million girlies to share clothes with without having to buy a new outfit for every occasion! Unfortunately the app itself can be a little buggy which can make things difficult for deliveries/handoffs etc. Also the search functions aren’t super accurate, you can search for “maxi dress” and get like 500 mini skirts, swimsuits, and completely unrelated items. Love the whole thing and hope it improves over time
Great great concept just still some development issues. There should be no more than one listing option when searching a brand, some have several different styles like the difference between all caps or all lowercase: ex: SIMKAHI and Simkahi show up as two separate brands. Some issues with messages where it wont let you read it and will continue to have a notification on it. Sometimes has address issues thinking I am in another city for no reason: only one address is saved. Just little annoying things that could be fixed to make the app run way more smoothly
The concept is great but the app is so glitchy and the user interface isn’t always the best. I also wish you could see full screen photos of the items. Listings are cropped so you don’t always get to see the full item. Too many crashes while using the app it’s become such a hassle. It is also impossible to receive any refund. A seller had to cancel my rental as she did not ship the dress in time and I still have not received my refund yet after 10 business days. I contacted Pickle support and they continue to give me the run around.
let me start by saying i absolutely love this app and think if you’re wondering if you should download you should! the clothes are super cute, the interface is straightforward and customer service is wonderful. there are a few minor updates i would love to see, that i would update my review to 5 stars for! 1. i would love to be able to filter by delivery type. right now it has broad categories like “courier & shipping” but i want to be able to further specify items available by courier only. sometimes after filtering, items pop up in my search that aren’t actually available for courier once i go to make an offer. this is my biggest one because i think it would completely change my experience with the app - right now i just have to set a distance radius (which is also not super accurate if you’re not in manhattan) and hope that when i make an offer the courier option comes up. it’s a lot of unnecessary trial and error which takes away from my experience. 2. i would love to be able to add photo reviews and see what others have to say about specific items :)
I recently used this app to rent an item and encountered an issue that I believe needs to be flagged. If an item gets damaged during your rental period, you will be charged the full retail price of the item plus the rental fee, which can amount to 20-30% more than buying the item outright. Additionally, the significance of the damage is determined by the owner, which can be subjective. While the concept of this app is great and it has the potential to be an incredible community, I hope they address these policies to provide a fairer experience for both renters and owners.
Pickle is amazing!! Here’s why I love it: - access to pieces and brands that would normally be out of my reach (I rented a beautiful Alemais dress recently) - ability to more accessibly explore new brands and explore styles (I just discovered l’idee!) - last minute delivery for when I’m truly in a Pickle - no subscriptions! - sure they’re a startup and have growing pains but they’re constantly shipping new features and learning from their customers - there’s a real community with the users - I’ve even been to some of their events and met awesome women!! I have 12 weddings this year and I’ll be using Pickle at every one!
This is my first time downloading and hearing about this app. I feel it could be really popular like Depop if they have more promotions on it. Please spend money on promoting the app. I just stared putting my clothes up . GO RENT . “ @_beegee . I wish there was a promotion so more people can see my stuff. PLEASE promote the APP MORE!!!!
Quite literally maybe the worst app I’ve ever used. When I reached out to customer service, they called me by the wrong names multiple times which I was confused by. Then I realized, somehow there are multiple users in a group chat with the customer service representative? So I’m seeing different users names, addresses and orders, while trying to reach out about an issue I was having. This app is a complete mess, impossible to use, and I would absolutely not recommend to others.
The premise and execution of this app are amazing!!! Plus, the support team seriously couldn’t be better. There was an issue with the delivery of my item and they immediately reached out with a solution! Cannot recommend this enough :)
I’ve used the app and love the concept — I’ve had really great hires. But hate the web and app experience. Too many glitches. Not enough filtering or search options. No way to log into your account on web. It’s really frustrating. Look forward to more updates to make this a more enjoyable process.
They’re always there to help! From personal stylists that can give you recommendations to support members helping you with last minute delivery changes. Very impressive!
The delivery system is so bad and pickle doesn’t take responsibility blaming it on Uber delivery and makes you talk to their support if something happens, meanwhile you can’t even contact your own delivery guy! So messed up and painful. I spend about 2 hours trying to first locate the item the delivery took and then trying to return while my rental order being canceled and pickle didn’t take any responsibility.
I thought Pickle was an incredible idea at first. I rented out a pair of pants which I was super excited about, but they didn’t fit. I understand that they disclose this information before you decide to rent. I’d rather just buy a pair of pants as it seems like I wasted my money on something that doesn’t fit. I also rented out a few things, and both of them came back slightly ruined. It cost more to get them fixed than the amount I made on the rental. Again, I know all these things are stated when you sign up, just a bummer as I really wanted to utilize this platform. It just doesn’t seem worth it.
I could log in on the app at first, but then it just goes to a blank white screen. I’ve closed out of the app to reset it, and I tried before and after doing a software update on my phone. The website is not really super user friendly so you have to use the app, but I also cannot use the app… I can’t be the only person that has had this issue?
I rented a dress for a friends wedding and the renter completely misrepresented the item. I messaged customer service to request a refund as the renter was only providing 50% declaring it a fit issue. In my opinion, a dress being six inches shorter in photos than in delivery is not a fit issue, but a representation issue. Customer service was not helpful and told me there was no description for the item so no refund was entitled.
I love this polling app, it’s such a great idea and so much fun to use with friends. I love creating polls and getting quick answers. I can’t wait for more people to discover this app!
I love the app and the idea behind it but the app itself still needs some tweaking - it glitches a lot. There have also been a lot of issues with the courier service the app works with for delivering and picking up the items
I have been using pickle for over 6 months. I loved the idea of it and had great experience as a renter. As an owner however, customer support is not on your side. The basis of this product is to rent and exchange YOUR clothes. They do not care about you at all, the last of support to those clients and protection of garments is astounding. DO NOT RENT YOUR CLOTHES WITH PICKLE. ESPECIALLY HIGH VALUE. Pickle protects the renters and not the owners. This system will not last.
I’ve had this app for like a month and I’ve had more issues than I can count on both hands. I’ve had drivers deliver the wrong dress to me and lose my dress, none of their delivery people speak English so it’s impossible to communicate with them, I’ve had to spend hours at the post office because they sent me expired labels. I’d save your time and just buy the clothes
This app is a great idea in theory but on 3 different occasions i tried to rent a dress it got cancelled or never delivered for some reason. I was left without a dress multiple times for big events. Do not rely on this app as there are so many unreliable owners that will cancel your order the day before you need it. Pickle needs to do better with the users they let rent on here.
This app is not at all owner-friendly. My first time using the app, I accepted an offer and immediately took the item to the post office noting that the rental period was starting quickly. My item arrived late and Pickle told me I would not be paid for the item. The Renter then completely ignored the delivery window and went out of town with my item.
The app has a lot of bugs - I’ve tried to make an account 3 times and it doesn’t remember my account info or ever get to the functional part of the app once a profile is created. So I can’t even comment on the functionality which is unfortunate.
Very great for validating hard decisions. I am planning a wedding right now and it is so helpful to know common prices and opinions throughout the process.
At the “select brand” step in the sign up flow I can’t advance the screen - I think a scroll issue - so the app is unusable Edit: despite multiple updates in the last two weeks this issue still blocks a sign up. Please check the sign up flow on different screen sizes for responsive design.
The app is impossible to use because it’s so glitchy. The scrolling times out and takes you back to the top. Notifications disappear and it’s impossible to follow them. It’s a cool idea but poorly executed on the tech side.
- Messages don’t go back more than 2 hours. Which is a problem. The entire chat should be available to us. - app is slow - when I get a message I get zero notifications - shipping is pricy - when I type an item I’m looking for.. I don’t get that result. Even if I filter it. But if I look manually through each listing .. I find it. Unlike poshmark when you type an item only that item comes up
Any time I log into my account the app stops working. I can’t make a new account bc it’s linked to my cell number. When I try to click on any clothing item the app closes out. When I try to click on my account settings, the account closes. I can’t use the app at all, it’s very disappointing.
The concept is very cool but the app is EXTREMELY glitchy and lacks a lot of basic features (like autocorrect, search as you type..) I’m looking forward to the company expanding/diversifying their customer base and investing in fixing the app
Rented items out a few times with no issue. Then, two of my dresses were never returned by two separate renters. They were both sold out everywhere and irreplaceable. On top of this, the app glitches and crashes regularly - deleted the app
The app needs a lot of work but the idea is great. It’s a bit of the problem that the platform doesn’t “vet” renters of luxury items, like Tulerie or By Rotation does. I’ve had things come back in bad shape so I no longer will be renting out my stuff here.
Seems like a great idea but the app needs fixing, couldn’t even upload my stuff or rent because the app crashes every 5 minutes. It crashed 4 times as I was making my account and crashes every time I try to add a photo or item.
