I make crochet tapestry’s and I’ve been looking for an app that I can make images into grids and then edit them to make them compatible with my medium. This app does all that. I can customize the size of the grid, i can put in the image, and I can manually edit it to tweak everything perfectly all with no payment or subscription, which their competitors were not able to. Amazing app and I will use it many times. The only thing that I can’t figure out(I’m not very tech savvy tho so this could just be me) is how to have multiple grids saved in the app at once as I’m usually working on multiple projects at once. Overall amazing!
I’ve always wanted to make sprites, even animated ones, and this app hits pretty much every nail on the head in this regard. You can also save the sprites as images, including animated gifs to your phone/tablet, which makes it even better. If I have one gripe, it’s that the “Copy Color” option to transfer a specific color to all other animation frames doesn’t work, forcing me to have to manually change the color of each unique sprite in said animation. Not the worst thing in the world, but makes things a tad more tedious; an update to fix this would take this app from being excellent to perfect.
This is my personal favorite pixel art tool personally. Also to keep in mind I am an amateur and I have very crappy handwriting. However how this works is that everything is grid based. You chose a color and put that color in that tiny square on the grid. (It more works like a very tiny paint bucket tool for each square.) That personally makes it very convenient for me and I will recommend anyone who is interested on getting into Pixel art but doesn’t have much experience on it at all to get the PixelArt app.
I’m a beginner in making pixel art and just wanted to try out some ideas for characters and landscapes for a game me and my friend are creating, and even though this app is free it is amazing! It is easy to use and you can even change the grid size throughout your drawing experience! You can save them to your photos and move your sprites around as well! Definitely worth the down load!
LOVE this app! So many customizable features from grid size to unlimited colors to so much more. And I just found the animate feature which is really cool and fun to play with. Three things that I have not found that I would love to see: 1) A Color Counter: so when doing beading type crafts I know how many of each color I need. 2) A Redo Button: the undo button is so useful but it would be nice to redo an accidental undo. 3) Landscape Rotation: would be nice for landscape type projects. Would absolutely give 5 Stars if #1 (Color Counter) was added.
My favorite feature of this app, is the animation. I never use this app for anything but animating and I know this app is mainly for making pixel ART not pixel animation but I still love how easy it is to get to! But the ONLY bad thing about this app, is that when you import a photo of a dark body color and it has pretty dark eyes (Like a Black Cat) you can’t see its eyes and you have to draw in your own, which could look good, but not in my case! Other than that- you should get this app, it’s totally worth it!

Really enjoy this app! Straightforward and simple. I bought the premium version, but it feels like I still can’t draw where the ads used to be. Like there’s an invisible box preventing me from tapping below it. I think that would be an easy fix that would make it better to use. I haven’t tried the animation feature yet, so maybe this is included, but I would love to have different layers. It would make drawing bigger things or animating much easier. A selection tool would also be nice, or saving custom palates. But as it is, there are still a lot of robust features that make getting a rough draft simple and fun!
I love this app, it’s easy to use and a very good tool for beginners. However I have a suggestion; if possible, let us save the colors we add in the color palette so if we want to use a specific pallete we can just load it up and won’t have to figure out all the colors we previously used on another piece of art. Thank you.
I've used this app consistently for over a year. I improve my skills constantly and it's very fun to play with! Ads are not overwhelming, app makes sense. My only issue is recently I go to open old projects and get an 'Error- failed to load!' message. This is pretty annoying, definitely very rarely happens but once it does that project is 100% inaccessible anymore. Overall- give it a shot! Fun app, a staple of my phone honestly.
The best tool I’ve found for designing cross stitch motifs and “graphgans”. It’s intuitive and has everything required to get the job done with simplicity. The only thing missing is that it exports without the graph lines but a screenshot solves that. Hoping an upgrade will include the lines for a print option. I posted it to my FB Tunisian Crochet group and the international interest was immediate and very positive.
This is very good and got me into PixelArt. My only complain is that there is no way to move certain parts of your picture. If there is a thing that you want moved somewhere else, you have to erase it completely and recreate it somewhere else. It doesn’t sound like a big deal but it would make a lot of my art much better, and a lot of other drawing apps have a feature like that. I just wish they added a mode that lets you color over certain parts of your art, and then lets you move around those parts that you colored.
I was looking for an app to make pixelated people….and this was PERFECT 🤩 this app is very cool and it may not have a lot of settings but its very cool for animation and creating gifs. But theres one little problem, when i try to pixelate a photo it dosent work for some reason 😕please fix this bug. But other than everything about this app is cool.
I got back into Space Engineers recently and was struggling to imagine designs and dimensions, but this app helped a ton! I do kinda wish the UI wasn’t so clunky and the zoom focused on the center of the screen as opposed to the center of the whole picture, but it’s nothing more than a minor annoyance. Thank you, dev!
Add an option where you can select different parts of a sprite and move them around. Another feature to add is the feature to save your custom color palettes so you can reuse them for different sprites. Finally add a feature to rotate sprites. I may sound like I’m asking for too much, but illl be cool to add little features like that into the app
If you seek a very good pixel art maker then look no further because you’ve found it! The interface is slightly confusing at first but you can quickly figure it out and be on the track to making good pixel art and even animations! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I never write reviews, but this app is so good that I think it deserves to be highlighted. All features are complete and useful! Only one little bug I notice: when you are making an animation and you create a new color, the next still palette foes jot update the new colors you create.
This is the best app ever. I don’t know what people are talking about when they say it crashes or something. This is truly the best app. Nothing costs anything, no glitching or crashing. No problems. And I don’t know why anyone would rate this 1 star. It could not be better. This is really, truly, the BEST APP EVER.
The camera handling is very frustrating (IDK how it is on tablets). I’m trying to move my image to color another part and it’s extremely aggravating. I have to use 2 fingers and even then it’s unreasonably hard. Fix 1: Zoom into and out based off where my fingers are located on the screen. It’ll zoom me into the center of the image or bring me out to the corner for whatever reason. If I zoom on the top left corner zoom me on the top left corner. Fix 2 remove the auto-fill boxes from single finger sliding. Making it one click away and removed on release of single finger slides. So I can scroll with one finger because sliding/scrolling with 2 fingers gave me a headache. The app is good but it definitely needs QOL changes.
I think this app is fun and easy to use. I’ve recently downloaded this and had lots of fun making pixel arts. I really think this app is not getting the attention it deserves, and I really recommend for everyone to download this. All in all, this is one of the best pixel art apps. :D
This is a great app and it had improved so much since I've had it, but it would be nice if you could insert a picture without it being pixelated and then draw over it with pixels your self, that would be a cool thing to have. It Would also be cool to have layers
I really like this app. It is very good for creating a picture, but something that would make creating animations way easier is creating layers. Also a redo button would be nice too.
I use this app literally almost every day. There are a few things that would make my life easier while using the app. So if you are a dev, here is a wishlist: 1.) Copy/Cut/Paste 2.) Ability to rotate 90 degrees instead of just flipping along horizontal/vertical axes. 3.) Ability to merge different projects (even if they are different sizes Ex: 16X16) for Animation purposes 4.) Import video/GIF These are in order of most important and, from a layman’s perspective, easiest to implement.
I have been looking for a pixel art app for a bit but this app blew all of the others away. I love how easy making animations are and how easy it is to get use to the controls! Definitely recommend

I like this app, it’s good for basic pixel art and gives all the tools you need, EXECPT when i spend 4 hours working on art for a game and when I try to export it, it not only doesn’t save but then crashed and deleted ALL my saves, literally all of them. Please fix.
This app was so great it’s easy to use and it can be for advanced people. It’s great for starting pixel art it’s also a free draw app so it’s really fun to use. Also great for making melon sandbox characters very fun 5 stars
When i was looking for a blank pixel art layout this one caught my eye so i dowloaded it and started making art. It was a great experience, and you can even make animations witch i didn't even realize that was apart of the app!

I rarely rate apps but I have to rate this one. I love the function that allows you to adjust a certain color in the art directly without re-editing the pixels. The new functions are awesome! Greater than ever app!
I’ve been using this for about 3 years now and I think this app only needs 2 thing and that thing is that you can change the amount of pixels you can draw at once besides that it’s perfect
So this app, game whatever is, Has so fun and make pics of anyone and anything, and make little/ long animations of your PixelArt and choose the size, paint, cooler.
This app has everything you need to make sprite animation 1 the pixel size and color 2 the picture spriter and 3 import into a video but the thing is y’all gatta add video sprite import it would be so much easier!
The app is great! The only problems I've had with it is it has some saving problems. The app will give you a error screen sometimes and all your work is gone. It rarely happens though.

One Minor issue is whenever I try to save a project, on rare occasions it will make all buttons unavailable, causing me to uninstall and reinstall the app multiple times. Other than that, great app!
Ads are small and never get in your face. It’s easy to make stuff with and I use it a lot with terraria art and for making stuff like circles. Really good app
