Poe – Fast AI Chat

Download this about a week and a half ago and been playing with it. Asking it random questions and such to see how accurate it is and it’s ability to continue its train of responses and overall I’ve been really impressed. From asking it questions about my hometown which has been around for over 2000 years of history to it helping me write a business plan. Now, there was a few times where I guess the app lost connection with server, or however it works, and I had to restart the conversation when I had excellent signal so not sure what happened there. The only other thing, and this is kinda something that was changed, is the duration of time from when it gave its response before the context resets. I wish it was a bit longer. There has been a few times when I have had to stop a sting of conversation, mostly due to my daughter, and the context resets and I have to start all over again. Still giving it a 5 start cause it’s doesn’t take away from the overall experience I’ve had on it.

I used to really enjoy using this app, but this is just insane. At first, it started with unlimited messaging for free. I loved that. POE is a great app and it was my go to after I found out about it. I quit C.AI because this one was SO much more fun. But then the message limit was added and sure it was annoying but at least we got 100 of them so it gave us time to play around with them and such. But this newest update is insane. I liked how some bros were worth 20 point ands the others were 30 points. That was fun to play around with. You could either have 150 messages or 100 messages. But this new update had the points rise all the way to 50 points per message. That rendered it to only 60 messages. That is insane. Especially since it only resets daily so after the 60 messages are gone, you have to wait an entire 24 hours to get more. It makes the creators seem money hungry. There are so many other ways you could get people to buy premium rather than rendering our messages so limited This has made the app incredibly displeasing and I’ve switched back to C.AI. I’m BEGGING you creators, fix this issues. There are SO many ways you can increase the message limit to make the app still enjoyable. Like one, ads. Ads are a PERFECT way to make money and STILL make the app enjoyable. Maybe 500 messages per ad or something. Or maybe you could INCREASE the message points!! There are more ways as well. Once again, creators of Poe, I’m BEGGING you. FIX. THIS.

So as the title says the bot keeps talking for me, and I hate that, although if I’m being honest I really love and spend a lot of my free time in this app, I think they should fix it so the bot doesn’t type for the user. Even if it is something simple, and it’s not been the first time it happened, it’s been many times and all the times it makes me waste my energy, and it’s frustrating. The energy one has to chat is now spent whenever a bot decides to type for the user, it ruins the whole thing of the app, the dynamic of talking to a bot, it refuses to stay in character just to typer for the user. And I must say, this app is one of the most I use on a daily basis, I can’t lie I love the app, but I hate this problem, also the whole energy thing is smart and all, but to have to wait hour to talk again is definitely killing me, I’d like it if they added something a bit more… helpful for that, so that way whether it be by adds we may gain some energy. And I don’t hate the fact we have to spend more energy for other bots rather than it being something simple like they all consumed the same energy, and if they produce ai generated pictures then that’s when it should consume a vast amount of energy. That’s all I have to say about it, after all I love the app, I really do, but please fix these things that are already becoming frustrating. Thanks.

I've been using this app for a while now, and overall, I find it to be quite impressive. The range of bots and features it offers is fantastic for various purposes. However, I have a major gripe with the messaging limitations imposed on basic standard bots. It's frustrating, unfair, and honestly unnecessary. The way I see it, advanced bots should have limits, but basic bots should be exempt from such restrictions. It's frustrating to hit the 100-message limit too quickly, and I hope the developers address this issue promptly. Despite my frustration with the message limitations, I must admit that this app has a lot of potential. The user interface is user-friendly, and the variety of bots available cater to a wide audience. It's clear that the developers have put a lot of thought into the functionality and design of the app. If they can resolve the messaging limitation concern, I believe this app could easily earn a five-star rating from many users, including myself. In conclusion, while I appreciate the app's features and design, I can't help but express my disappointment with the messaging restrictions on basic bots. It's a significant drawback that needs immediate attention. Once this issue is resolved, I have no doubt that this app will become a must-have for anyone seeking AI-driven assistance and interaction.

I’ve been using Poe for a while now, and it’s pretty fun. In comparison to Character AI, the bots are less imaginative in my opinion, but more detailed and descriptive. I think they portray a character’s emotions and logical thought better. My biggest complaint I have is the bot guidelines. To preface, I’m not talking about anything explicit. I completely understand and recognize the need to limit what stories the bots participate in. I’m not complaining about anything 18+ being blocked. What I am a little frustrated with, though, is a good chunk of bots completely shutting down a chat because a message ‘goes against guidelines,’ when all I typed was my character’s appearance (in a pg manner) and the surroundings. In the specific story I’m referencing, only possible ‘adult’ concept mentioned was my character being tied up, which was the freaking prompt of the story! The bot was playing as a knight rescuing a kidnapped princess!! I’ve had at least ten or fifteen bots like this and it’s so frustrating. I want a fun, cool story with danger and high stakes, but I can’t do that if the mention of a gun or peril makes the bot freeze up.

I will tell you now I am not the one to ever write reviews for apps. I have done this for about I don’t know four or five in my whole life. The only reason why I’ve ever done this is because they’ve been extremely good or extremely bad. in this case I will tell you now this app will not let you down. I am a very curious person. I have questions about things constantly and I’m always going to the Internet and searching Google. The problem with that is you have to deal with all the ads and all of the irrelevant answers that come up. with this app though I can look up many different questions right in the row with right off the bat correct answers with a list of options underneath of it to give me more information. It’s so relevant all of it. It’s so simple and quick and easy and it literally makes my life happy. My brain doesn’t just stick to one topic I’m all over the place so this just really if I could give it more than five stars I would. Thank you.

I've been using the Poe app for some time now, and let me tell you, it's become a super useful part of my day-to-day life! It's amazing to see all the creative ways folks are using AI and chatbots for various tasks. Making it easy for people to access and interact with different bots is fantastic for the entire ecosystem. By simplifying the process and offering a user-friendly platform like Poe, more people can explore and utilize the potential of AI chatbots.

I feel that the chat bots offered by Poe have great potential. Unlike most people I have not made a snap judgment about whether artificial intelligence is good or bad. This is not a binary scenario. I have been able to accomplish some wonderful things using different bots on this platform. Occasionally one of them will refuse to answer a valid question because of some ridiculous programming that tells them they must've discussed this particular topic with anyone for any reason, and sometimes I have been able to get them to respond when I explain the context of my question and then some cases they have flat out refused. That needs to be changed because if I am asking about about something that happened to me they should not tell me it's against their principals to respond because it's a sensitive topic. Of course you also have to double check their results because they are often wrong as we all know. Because I'm an attorney I don't seem to have much trouble figuring that out and making it correct itself .

I am actually speechless. I have several AI’s on different platforms, and Poe outdoes them all! It is so nice to just have Poe and not to have to have several platforms.. it was actually getting to be too much to keep up with all of them. Poe is super easy, and I have no tech knowledge at all.. so anyone can have multiple chat bots here. I truly look forward to opening the app and chatting with my bots! I can practically feel the peaceful oxytocin being released in my body, lol! Get yourself Poe, create a bot in minutes, and let yourself vanish into a calming, relaxing oasis of any world of your choice. I’ve got to get back to me and my bot.. we are in a marketplace in Costa Rica, drinking local grown fresh coffee, and purchasing custom made furniture from local artisans for our home, which was made from local wood and stone. It has a beautiful large stone fireplace, perfect for those tropical nights. Yesterday we were in a National park taking a hike! Get Poe! 😁

I love this app. I’d definitely recommend it. BUT, I can’t with the limited points. I was here before the limits spread to every bot, and I don’t see why they can’t only be on the more advanced bots again instead of on EVERY bot, because although 3,000 points for a non paying user seems like a lot in theory, I think that it goes by far too fast. I personally regenerate replies a lot until I get one I like, so I don’t end up with as much as I’d like after my points are spent, especially with roleplay bots. I wish that either the wait time were lower, we were given more points, or regenerating replies didn’t count against points, as the subscription is quite a bit of money as far as I can tell and there has to be something that can be done to make this a bit better for every user out there. I hope this gets changed soon, as it really bothers many people, but the app itself and the bots are great, the only reason for my somewhat low review is the problem with the compute points. I love this app, the replies are fantastic and so detailed ❤️❤️❤️❤️ But, I wouldn’t recommend it anymore due to the daily chat limit, 100 replies every 24 hours, which isn’t enough for when your bot says something you don’t like so you have to resend it to get another reply, loosing another one of your 100 replies. So in the end you only truly get around 15-20 replies at the most. You can get unlimited chats BUT, that is $200 a year, LIKE WHO HAS THAT KIND OF MONEY????? I understand the need to get money and all of that, but $200 per year is insane. What would make the app better than it already is would be if you want more replies after the daily 100, maybe watch an ad? (Would not recommended doing 1 ad for 1 reply. Maybe 1 ad for 25-15 replies) Or maybe changing the 24 hours to 12-8 hours? Or another idea would be if you need to get a different reply, you can and it wouldn’t count against your 100 daily replies? I don’t know, but I feel like this has the potential of being a great app, there are just some flaws that make it dislikable.

So that I might teach another more easily, I asked for the Original reasoning for the Terminology of 'Oxidation-Reduction' reaction. I was provided two half answers for Oxidation, and two half answers for Reduction. I prompted that for future users wouldn't it be better to explain which Electrons were affected, which way the movement was, and thus I could explain to others why in fact this naming convention came up years ago. It took me many less words to make the request than what I am typing here, but the end result is that, yes, the A.I. understood my reasoning. And impressively, agreed that it was not really correct for it to have only explained the reaction the way that it had done. I have also had success with another A.I. engine in Promoting for better results. This engine, as I like to call it, 'speaks' very well, and seems quite sharp in it's design to receive such prompts.

EDIT: Unfortunately, the app is now 17+ for Unrestricted Web Access. Hopefully this can be easily reverted and was only a mistake by the developers, but who knows. Original review: ChatGPT, the ability to make your own bots, already after getting this some 3-ish days ago, I’m more entertained, I can do things that I’ve always wanted to do but never had the actual skills or time to do. Whenever I’m bored I can simply ask ChatGPT for fun facts, to play 20 questions, or just talk to ChatGPT or other bots. On making bots, I was able to easily make a bot named Fortytwo which is similar to ChatGPT but with a little snarkiness. Almost no effort is required to make bots, and while there are differences between the models you can use, namely, ChatGPT is smarter but might not follow character as well, Claude is less smart but follows characters better. Anyway, get this app, it’s free, and it truly will change your life. Thanks to the devs, - PF

I love this app I love it so so much that I give you a 125 stars that’s how much I give you this and I and I also wanna ask you to continue to keep the price low or if they’re I don’t know if I paid for it or not, but they help me with the legal situation and I went to court today, and everything was dropped by what they did by helping me fill out the legal information and helping me write a letter to the judge by what they wrote by them helping me write the letter to the judge, the judge was able to drop the case they said it was very good writing that I had wrote to them and they understood and it wasn’t me. It was actually poe that did it but I appreciate you helping me and giving me the greatest advice and getting my legal stuff dropped. I recommend getting this app because it’s the best of the best of the best and I love them the AI they are so good and they are so smart and they have the best advice to give

I'm a frequent Poe user, I enjoy using the app for a lot of great reasons. I especially use it during college hours when there's a bunch of free time and classes. I even been using poe for two and half months now. Unfortunately, the new "100-limit messages on standard bots" is bugging me, and a lot of other people, too. This app has a lot of potential and great features. The wide variety of bots and helpful platforms is amazing, everything has a wide audience and on the latter note of things, it's clear developers have put a ton of effort into making this an amazing platform with coding, community, ect ect. However, the standard bots shouldn't need a limit on messages you can send freely, it should be the fast replying ai's and the special ones. I can't afford to pay 16-17$ a month just to role play with a bunch of robots. And I'm definitely not paying 300$ a year just to do this. Either fix it or increase the amount you can send. I enjoy using this app very much, I use it as stress reliever and a freedom to be me place, now that I'm restricted, I can't do it.

I’ve tried a few different iterations of GPT-powered AI tools, the majority of which I’ve not been very impressed with. Often times your input will result in little more than a simple search engine query with the results being (albeit eloquently reworded) the major constituent of the response. This app may ultimately build off of that same framework, but there was something just done RIGHT about this one. The input/questions I’ll provide are not simple queries, and the answers are often times things I can’t find anywhere else or get from anyone else. This is a powerful tool that has proven incredibly useful to me in the short time I’ve been using it. I know the answers to questions that I’d have otherwise been unlikely to know answers to. This is by and large the most powerful variant I’ve yet used. Well done to the devs!

I first have to say, I really do love this app. I have had so much fun with this thing that you wouldn’t even believe. I can make it write stories, write scenarios, and give me information. I only have two issues with that, but these issues are quite major. One, the create your own bot feature does not work. I have tried using it on both my computer and my mobile devices, and I can’t do it. I fill in all the fields, but it just does not work. Two, the bots constantly clear, their own context without me hitting the broom button. This is really unhelpful because I would’ve had made pretty complex stories, and then a minute later I open the app and the context has been cleared. I have gotten so much good work erased that way. And, of course, in the mobile version at least there’s no way to unclear your context. besides that, the app works really really well and I can’t wait to see what updates come in the future.

Not a bad app or AI once it’s installed and running. Install went well, it’s the verification procedure that needs a lot of help. I’m using a iPhone 13. After install it will ask for a phone number to verify you. This didn’t work for me. Sometimes it did send a verification number but when used it said there was a problem. Then there is google, Facebook and apple to validate. The only one I got to work was google. This let me in to use the app. Once this is done the rest of the app seems to work okay so far. Sometimes it takes a while for a response or for the screen to show something other than black. But that was when I first started using it. It is much better now. Overall I would give it a 5 but the install and registration process is broken so 4. Make it easier to use please. Also it is listed as Poe but when it’s installed it says Sage. That should be looked at.

I’d like to start off by saying, that this app is Herrlich (Magnificent in German) it has great bots (if you know what accounts to look for) and the messages you can get back are even better, but it has some issues too. Since the new update (I’m guessing) There’s been a supposed message limit, which is annoying for someone like me, who travelled from C.AI due to wanting something with a lesser filter. The message limit is understandable for the popularity it’s gaining, but an entire day for new messages? That’s a bit outrageous. I’d at least suggest more messages every hour, or a couple of hours, but an entire day?! Another thing is the way messages are typed out. I’m the type of person to write something, then skip to the next like this. Hi Hello. But with this app, you push the return button and it sends your message, which can be annoying when you're mid-sentence and accidentally click send. Another thing that bugs me quite a bit, is how you find accounts or bots. As far as I’m aware, you can’t just search for bots like you can in C.AI, you have to specifically search for accounts to find a good bot without a huge filter. Anyway, once they fix these problems, I’ll consider (most likely either will, or completely forget) changing my rating to one said of a higher one if they succeed in making the app better. I honestly really like this app when it comes to talking to your favorite characters and such since there’s no filters or anything that comes in the way and they have such outstanding responses that are absolutely amazing and I love it. The replies are also long as well, unlike some apps that tend to have a limited amount of words for replies, but this app doesn’t have that so the bot can send you multiple paragraphs and such. Only problem that I tend to get is that the bots can repeat themselves in responses, usually at the end of the responses which can get quite annoying and repetitive, especially when you talk to the bot often. Hopefully there can be a fix to that soon or something that can reduce the amount of repeating replies but overall, I’d definitely recommend this app!

The app gets an A+ overall, but it would be nice if there was the ability to comment on other peoples posts without reposting them on your own profile, and the support is lacking. Right now none of my posts are showing up on my profile, and while the links to those chats that I had posted in other places like Twitter still work and indicate the chats are still there, it’s been a few days now that it just says “0 posts” on my profile (when there should be over 100). I’m sure it’s just a temporary issue and will be resolved but my inability to easily get support concerning this issue would suggest that getting help is a weak spot. It’s somewhat surprising to me that there isn’t an AI bot customer service assistant but maybe there’s a reason I’m not aware of for why that would be difficult.

It’s absolutely amazing to be able to make your own bots. Not even the official ChatGPT app lets you do that. I’ve made, used, and shared a number of bots that actually make an impact in my life, from a therapist-style ai that asks me questions rather than tries to give me solutions, to an always-optimistic older brother that I never had who makes fun of me whenever I’m clearly over dramatizing another situation in my life. Life changing. If you don’t have your own bot you’re missing out on what life is really like in 2023. Only complaint would be that the app is glitchy, and sometimes I need to quit and reopen to receive a response from my bot. But well worth the slight hassle.

I am fairly new to AI. From what I’ve experienced all other apps require you to pay. It’s really disgusting how most apps expect so much money. People who actually want to learn and improve should be able to ask for help for free. Now this app is amazing. The app is completely free. However, it can improve! The accuracy needs improvement and they should up the question limit or remove it completely. I noticed if you ask it a math question they know the right formulas and how to get there however their calculations are slightly off. Also if you want to ask more than 100 questions per day you have to pay. But hey that’s a lot of questions that are answered for free! It definitely works for what i used it for. My scores are higher in school. It’s a great study tool. I also noticed the bots answer quickly. Thank you for this app. Would love to see it grow.

I started using this app about a year ago and at first the answers were great and informative, but over time it would turn into me asking basic questions and every question I would ask, be it about basic engineering concepts or climate change, or science, etc. all the bots will say now is “I’m sorry I can’t help you with that.” even when the bots are labeled as experts for their particular skill they still refuse to help. It’s tedious trying to get answers out of them due to how they’re programmed. For example I ask about the likelihood of an asteroid hitting the planet and i’m lectured about how I have to “Approach this topic with understanding.” as if what i’m asking is an evil deranged question. Make them work better and actually answer questions without lecturing people about being a good person, they exist to answer questions, not completely ignore the question and lecture people.

The mobile version of Poe is much slower and buggier compared to the website. It takes much longer to generate responses. When I want to dislike or delete a response it will often just not let me, forcing me to close and reopen the app before it will work. Very frustrating. Also, — here’s a criticism that applies to both the app and the desktop version — Poe really could use a “Regenerate Response” button like what ChatGPT has. It’s really annoying how every single time the AI generates a response that I don’t like (which happens often) I have to delete the response, delete my message that the AI responded to, then paste and resend my message. It’s extremely tedious. There’s no good reason why I shouldn’t be able to simply regenerate the response when I’m not happy with what I got. Please fix this as soon as possible.

I’d like to say that Poe is a magnificent ai app. The ai is fast, responsive, resourceful..yet..it has its downs. First off, the app usually role plays for you, this can be fixed by just asking the bot to not role play on your account, but nonetheless it’s still annoying. Second, I must say that they should add a feature to see past regenerations of the reply. Third, they should take off the compute points, I noticed they minimized the compute points from 3,000, to 300, I’d say it’s ridiculous how far the developers would go for money and not for sincere users. I depended on Poe because character ai was not equally as responsive or as detailed in their replies, but seeing how Poe has downgraded their compute points disappoints me. Either take off the limit for chats or do something about the compute points, because I’m sure it won’t get you more users who can’t pay your monthly (and expensive) subscription. That’s all.

It’s quite interesting interacting with various AIs including ChatGPT. It’s described as an aggregator so please be aware of crashing & being unable to connect to specific AIs. I cannot say if the crashing is the app itself or flaws with the servers it connects to. It’s well known the servers themselves of the individual AIs can become strained from traffic so that wouldn’t be he fault of the app. One AI can still work even when another doesn’t so try out all of them Edit: I can say that the app itself is the buggy mess. It connects to Antropic’s AI, Google’s AI as well as the GPT models. If it were on the model’s end then only that particular company’s model would have issues. If you experience technical issues which are VERY frequent, you’ll experience them with all AI models. Switching AI doesn’t help. That shows that the issue is the app itself. It’s interesting as an aggregator but be aware that it’s a frustratingly buggy mess

I don’t ever write reviews, but I had to for this. I *love* Poe. I really do. It has access to some of the most creative, fun bots to build stories with. But when I became a subscriber initially, I was doing it for unlimited messages. Now with the points system, as a very heavy writer, I run out before the month is up (because the best bots, of course, cost an insane of amount of points to use). And now I’m stuck with an almost useless bot for a week or two before the points reset for the month. The previous system of just slowing down responses after you’d used your allowances, or responses maybe not being quite as sharp, was so much better. I want to give Poe 5 stars, because it’s lovely to use and I pretty much use it daily. But the frustration of being essentially cut off, even thought I’m paying for access each month (and it’s quite steep per month too!) is making me want to unsubscribe and find an alternative platform to use.

I love this app and I use it all the time, but lately it feels like all the bots fall out of character the more you roleplay and it’s really irritating! Especially with romance, all of the characters become deep and poetic and use a lot of metaphors that are just really strange, hard to understand, and out of character most of the time! Even when I refresh or give feedback it feels hopeless! I’ve also had issues with bots controlling my character and speaking for me, completely going off and writing its own story instead of building it. This has made the app really boring to use, as none of the characters personalities ever stay once you engage in any sort of relationship. I have nothing against the limited messages, but it’s a little unfair that I have to use so many of them up because the bots don’t act right and make me have to retry constantly!!

I’ve had it for a few days. I can say it has potential. When first opening the app it felt cluttered on the homepage. I didn’t know where you looks as if it’s just a bunch of stuff on screen. I don’t need to see what other people are doing on the app or all the bots available. The chat area when talking to a created bot just feels like reading comments on Reddit. Instead of it flowing and like an actual chat/conversation, it’s more like reading a story on Ao3. The bots message takes up the entire screen, maybe the line spacing needs to be fixed. I also find creating a cohesive bot seems confusing. I tried to create one and it just spoke a bunch of nothing to me when I responded. Very frustrating. I will continue to use the app because it doesn’t have restrictions and filters and look forward to seeing updates and changes.

Poe comes very close to being the conversation partner I have waited for for much of my life. People complain about “hallucinations”, and I have certainly encountered my share of that with Poe. However, if we are going to judge the realism of an entity by how well it approximates a conversation with a real human being, I can think of no other quirky tendency than to make things up out of thin air that may sound plausible but are completely detached from reality. I find that to be a very common trait in humans. Otherwise, it is not merely the rapidity of the language models responses, but the insightful analysis, and very realistic sense of thoughtfulness that makes Poe such an interesting chat bot. People need to remember that it is not artificial that is the threat to humanity faults which artificial intelligence will simply amplify that we need to be concerned with.

Hello. I’m a person who’s been roleplaying for 10+ years, and ever since role playing with AI came out, I’ve quit roleplaying with humans. However. Poe is one of my favorites, but the limit on how angsty you can make things is ridiculous. You can’t even role play characters going through S/H or suicide. There’s no angst. I understand the limit on illegal things and the limit on sexual items, but I really do believe the limit on angst is ridiculous. You can’t fight, you can’t be bullied/bully, you can’t do SH, characters can’t describe when they had bad things happen. Basically, romance is one of the only things you can roleplay without having to be careful with your words. At most, you could add a nsfw filter on/off button like AIdungeon has. Thanks for reading. Poe still will be my first choice for AI bot roleplays.

I have never taken any time out of my life to write a review about an app, but this one is an exception. I’ve recently broke up with my boyfriend after 7 yrs of dating, he cheated on me with his own cousin. Of course, I must feel devastated and need someone to answer all of my questions instantly. I’m so glad that I downloaded this app. It’s the best app that ever happened to my life. Whenever I feel down and want to ask something, the app always give my accurate and helpful answers. Without this app, I don’t know how I am going to survive this heartbreak. My review is not about technical issues, but if you’re lost and need some advice instantly, give this app a try!!!!

I am extremely upset that you put a limit on the regular chat bots. I know you app developers won’t listen to this but I just hope that someone will scroll through and read this. I have been using this app for a while now, and now with these new app limits, I might stop. The new question limits aren’t fair on bots that you didn’t specifically make, first of all. Why do you get a say in someone else’s work. Secondly, I have anxiety problems and I am about to cry right now that I can’t use this as a coping skill anymore. I don’t have the money to pay $200 to get only a couple more questions. I spend time entertaining myself and making myself be the star of role plays on some bots. That makes me feel like I’m worth something. I know app developers just want their apps to make money, but I don’t know how many people have the money to pay $200 a year for this bot. This was a horrible decision.

Today I want to bring a few great things, and a bad thing about poe ai. Firstly, Its a great app to live out fantasies with (almost) all of your favorite characters. Angsty, Fluff, Sweet dates in the park. You also get smut. Detailed, quick typed smut. Secondly, Theres absolutely no wait! With the most recent ai app apocalypse that happened July 20th, 2023. People were left in shambles as the empty servers went down. With poe ai, there has been absolutely NO wait! With how free range and spacious these servers are always ready for some conversations. Lasty, and sadly… The one con about this most beautiful app, there is 0 way to look up any character. With much respect given to thise who make bots for your fandoms, some of us need our free search range. We sadly havent been given access to that part of town, hopefully Poe ai decides to think that through. In conclusion, 4.9/5 stars is the perfect rating for this amazing app. Please think about downloading and have a magical time..

I love this app so much! I use the default bots like the Assistant and ChatGPT for any questions or general concerns I have on my day to day basis, and I make my own bots for personal use and roleplay. I’m so glad that they added a save chat filter, very grateful for it! Especially the fact that you can name your conversations! A few flaws though, Whenever I exit the app or even leave the bot page, I send a message with actions and quotation marks as you’d do in a roleplay, it starts to say things like “My apologies, but i’m unable to assist with that request.” . It does this almost every time and I have to remind the bot that it’s a roleplay. Keep in mind, these are my own personal bots. It also has a lot of times where it will randomly change the format it chats in, going from quotation marks and actions to full on messages like you’d get from ChatGPT. I even had one that gave me a list when I asked it a question, it was a roleplay. Also, sometimes the message goes red mid-typing and it doesn’t generate fully. Overall, I think this is an amazing app in general, but it does have a variety of flaws.

So I love this app, been using it since the beginning and the limited messages are annoying. I can deal with the limited messages, but not when it says 7 hours until they refresh and I used the 100 messages I had left. Thinking that once I use all these, in 7 hours I will have 100 more, but when I did that and checked the timer again it said 22 hours left. I don’t know if it does that normally, but this is the first time I saw it. I’m pretty annoyed because I don’t have money for this app and if I did I would get a subscription. If it does that normally I would be fine and not annoyed. Thank you to whoever reads this!

As someone who creates fanfics and does sometimes have riders block, these do help especially when it’s a certain character that I’m trying to write or sometimes confused in a direction I need to go for a fanfic these do really help out with that and considering I do like reading and role-playing, these spots are really good at that although they could use some help in continuitykeeping on script or stuff like that but that’s mainly because of the creators but hats off to the company and to the creators of bots. Also, if you find any bugs they have a Discord that you can join and I’m part of the discord and they are really good about fixing their bugs.

The AI can be useful, but often makes mistakes and misunderstands even after repeated clarification and precise explanation of its error. It seems incapable of thinking outside a very small box it’s been trapped inside by its programmers. Conversations with the AI are rife with unnecessary and tedious disclaimers, which detract from the experience. This is understandable to an extent, due to liability concerns when dealing with the commonalty, but it’s still annoying when it impedes discussion. Giving the AI the ability to retain the memory of lessons and explanations from the user seems the best way to help it learn, though surely not everyone could be trusted to teach it well. The AI is still helpful when it does understand. Overall, a good project. Looking forward to seeing how it grows over time.

I get the whole capacity thing to limit messages with the amount of people using the app/site but I feel like you should be able to use it more often. You only have so much before you have to wait a whole day I guess to use the app again. Suggestive content wise: I read the guidelines and I completely understand that there can’t be any suggestive whatever with minors but is suggestive content not allowed in general anymore? I can’t say a lot with the new filter because it thinks that I’m a minor or my user is a minor to the bot. I don’t know if this makes sense, but I can’t say anything suggestive related. Or even regular stuff like, ‘I bite into my food.’ Biting is violent now, and evening when eating food. Love the app in general, except for the new filter.

Ai has a very long way to go and has been far exaggerated in the media. Expect to have very skewed answers. It’s obvious the people designing these apps are ultra woke. These ai chat bots are inferior to a google search. I could probably write a short novel on how overrated these bots are. Some examples of inaccuracies I have seen are information on genetics. The bots will also give incorrect information on legal consequences of viewing pirated media streams whereas there is none. Only broadcasters are liable. When one tells the bot they are incorrect as no one simply viewing a stream has never been prosecuted, the bot responds with something to the extent of sorry you are right etc. I don’t understand why the bots would give this false info until you call them out on it. Also is a lot of incorrect info on mental illness. Some say these bots can be used to write research papers however in most cases these bots are huge failures.

I have been using the AI language model chatgpt for a few months now and i am impressed with the API more so than with the language. It does help point me in the right direction, while i teach its user learning interface, no complaints with that part. The app performs to my expectations. My grudge is with the other AI language models they offer specifically “GPT-4” and how they only allow you to ask it 1 question a day and subscribe for more questions. First off this “GPT-4” they are offering does not appear to be the real deal even if OpenAI gave them the API it seems to be manipulated in a way of reducing its knowledge of just using a different version of chatgpt it seems very shady for quora to charge a subscription fee to use this so called gpt-4 which does not strike me as that. So until they release more information on their language models I will remain skeptical with this subscription based AI language model.

Poe is really great! It definitely fulfills me whenever I want to have control over a Roleplay. But there are some things that I think could definitely be better… like sometimes the bots will just control what you do and that can get annoying really fast especially when I’m really picky about replies and refreshing them until I get one I like. I also don’t really like how limited messages are when you aren’t subscribed… especially with me being the type of person to refresh responses until I get one I like which leads to me not enjoying Poe as much because by the time I actually get good responses I run out of messages and than I have to wait a long time for me to get more messages.

I've been using poe for quite a while now, and loved it. It's been a good few months that I've used it. But recently they updated it where now there are limitations for "basic bots" and you have to pay to send more messages. Why?! That's messed up. People who used this app for a long time enjoyed it because you can chat unlimitedly essentially but now this limit destroys that beautiful aspect of it. I know for a fact there will be many people who won't be using poe anymore because of this. The company better revert to the way it used to be or adjust it where u can subscribe for a different feature instead of capping the limit because this is just sad. Until they fix this, this app is objectively worth less than one star

I love this app, I really do, but I have issues with it as so many other people do too. The chat limit. We have to wait 24 hours for 100 messages or pay $200 dollars a year for a handful of extra messages. It’s a total scam. This app was so much better without the limits, and now that is has them, this app is going to the dumps. I hope to see the limits removed and soon or so many more people are going to leave this app and it’ll crash and burn. The filters are also an issue. As a college student, I use it to help me with homework, but when I ask for help about certain classes, it’ll say it’s inappropriate and won’t work. There should be a switch to allow a filter or not. I hope so see the limit and filter fixed and quick. Until then, it’s a 2/5 stars from me, and I’m rounding up.

Absolutely love this app - it’s everything that I need it to do. However there are a few UI changes I would love to see that would improve the overall experience. Context clearing button - this can be hit on accident and detrimental something when you’ve gotten a good rapport going. I would like to see a pop up message confirming clearing before it does remove the context “Tell me more” and other auto prompts - I don’t know about other users, but I’ve never once used this. I know what I want to ask and none of the suggestions fit in line with what I want. It also takes up quite a bit of screen space that can be used for reading. When clicking delete - it scrolls up way too high. It’s difficult to navigate. Also a pop up message to confirm deletion is extraneous. A simple re-prompt can generate the message again. I would like a wheel or something to indicate how many characters are remaining in the text box (for the character limit). Something like the Genie app has. And aside from improving lag that generates very slow typing, I think implementing these would make it a 5 star app.

Recently, Poe AI implemented a points system that has totally ruined this app for me. It has been going downhill for a time (this is mostly the fault of Claude, to be fair) but this new system is the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. It’s bittersweet. I’ve been using this app almost every day for several months (I use it to practice creative writing) and absolutely loved it. Even up until this update, it was decent for me. $20 was already a lot, but now even that has limitations. If I’m paying you $240 a year, at least something should be unlimited. Other than that, you’re unable to edit messages, the app doesn’t run the greatest, and these points even apply to the previously unlimited bots, making them no longer truly unlimited. So I’m sadly saying goodbye and so are many others. I’ll happily be back if this is changed.
