I really like this app and the idea behind it, but I wish that there was a way to make the translations bidirectional. I often have to switch between two languages, and having to go into the settings and switch the input and output languages each time is mildly infuriating.
When you know part of a language but still need to translate a few words this app is perfect. It is easy, fast and accurate. Just highlite the word or phrase and it translates underneath.
Other than having a new icon in my toolbar, one wouldn't even know it is installed because it does not seem to work. There is no pop-up I can select, no button to click, nothing make it translate the pages I want to read. I'm glad it's free because I would really have been put out had I paid for this. (I know, maybe I've gotten what I paid for.)
As others state this just simply does not work. You install it, and the meager install instructions state to enable this in the Preferences Extensions area. But Polycrap never installs properly, and so there is no extension to enable in preferences. No further support, help or anthing else. Junk program, doubt it is real.
It won't translate the whole page. You have to manually select text to be translated... useless on some pages that make it extremely difficult to select text.
The translator I have used for years has disappeared from the app store, and "needs updating" I downloaded Polyglot, but it just hangs, does nothing, cannot paste or anything. Quite useless.
Polyglot is a powerful translator for Safari that translates selected text into your native language at lightning speed. Key feature: - Automatic language detection - Instant Translation - Synonyms - Transliteration - Keyboard shortcut
