I was very happy to find out when I switched credit unions to PCU that they had remote deposit. The app for the credit union works okay except when I upgraded phones it will not work with facial recognition. The app keeps crashing and I have to reinstall. The remote deposit works about half the time. Once I get into it I can use it, however getting into it is the problem. You need to spend some time and money updating this app.
I have used this app for a little under a year now, and it has worked awesomely. You can deposit a check just by simply taking a picture of it and it can be instantly added to your bank account (at least almost instantly) for a small fee, or you can wait a few business days and no fees will be applied. You can also check your savings and checking balances by logging into your account and choosing the account section, see the date of the transaction, where you bought it from, and other things that you would most likely expect to see on a banking app. Overall it is a good app, but it does need some fixing up, for example, the app can be really slow (I’ve tried multiple different wifi connections and different locations for cell service). Even with some downsides, this app is definitely a need when you start banking with preferred.
Works great as long as you don’t want to use facial recognition with an iPhone X. App freezes after you try to log in. Have to delete and reinstall. Works with touch, but not face.
This is the worst app I have ever used. I am pretty sure that a 5 year old could make a better app. I tried to view my account info and accidentally clicked a wrong button, the app would no longer let me view my savings or checking amounts. If you like to see your finances and don’t like to be frustrated. Please save yourself a headache and stay away from this app and this bank.
I can no longer log in to the mobile app, the button is grayed out and has been for quite some time now. I have to click standard log in and then zoom way in to see anything. This used to work great.
This app does not offer 24/7 customer service and is not user friendly. It’s an absolute shame this is the app Preferred created to represent them as a business. I believe this is an accurate reflection on what kind of credit union they are. Not at all happy with Preferred. Get with the times.
I'm a private practitioner & have used Preferred CU for my business & personal accounts. I didn't think the last app was very good but I could easily log into my acct to check what I needed from the mail web page. When they upgraded their system, I was hopeful & updated the app right away. The new updates are HORRIBLE!!!! Not only is the app completely worthless, but I can no longer log in to the main web site from my phone, as it kicks me right out when I try to do anything. Although, the new web site isn't anything positive either. I'm in DC right now & didn't bring my laptop, because I didn't think I'd need it (I have a smart phone & tablet with me). Because of this app & the new web site, I can't do a thing with my account! I need a CU that's business friendly or I'll be forced to find one.
I've banked with preferred federal for a long time so when I heard they finally had an app I was super excited! I downloaded it and it was awesome and then they did an update to it and now it's so crappy. Thinking about switching banks if it doesn't change.
