DEFINITELY worth the money. Other reviews are incorrect
This app does EXACTLY what it says on the tin, and nothing more. This is what it says: A live TRACKING app! This is perfect for the live “gigging” musician or FOH/A2 engineers and technicians who need to track live and edit later. The app has a very simple interface, and has yet to not recognize a console I have plugged it into. Behringer/Midas, Allen and Heath, DiGiCo, Yamaha... works flawlessly. And, you can select up to 92Khz sample rate *if* the console supports it. Otherwise, it will simply give you a choice of the sample rates available. I am running this on a 7th gen base 10.2 w/128GB memory, and there are no read errors. The default dark screen reads well in dark venues and FOH positions. The battery impact is quite low, with a 1 hour recording session (straight through, no stops) with 15 min before and after set only consuming 21% battery. To those reviews who claim this is a bad product: - This will not record over 44.1k from the internal iPad microphone. Sure, Apple says it can sample at a higher rate, but let’s be honest: These iPad mics are NOT “studio grade”. I should know. I run one. This is just the limit the app puts on the device. That is the way it is. This choice is up to the developers and is probably made for stability reasons. - With the USB-C or lighting to USB camera USB adapter, this will take in any console. It is plug and play. If it does not work, then it is the console that is either not supported or not updated. But, I have tried this on over 20 devices and not a one has been rejected. - No, it is NOT a DAW. If you are looking for an app to edit audio and to mix and master, this is not it. That is because it is not meant to be. It is a tracking app, which for professional engineers is ideal. And, for musicians, is incredibly smart as it only runs the software needed to securely get your tracks down so you can *import* them into the DAW of your choice or to send them off to your engineer. Simple is good. Simple does not crash. And, for $10, of course it isn’t a full DAW. Some reviewers want the world for free and for others to pay them for the privilege. - The track import function does work and works well. You have to be on the same WiFi as the recipient machine, and from what I can see, you will have the best results if you are on Studio One 5 (either stand alone or through Sphere). If you don’t have Studio One, you can still take an external drive and migrate the tracks that way. My theory is that all of the negative reviews are from people not understanding that this is a compliment software to their Studio One series, but *can* be used for other DAW’s. It just won’t magically send it wirelessly unless it is set up as previously described. Other reviewers want the features of full Pro Tools or Studio One, but don’t have the computer to run it and don’t actually want to pay the money it takes to make it happen. NOTHING is free if it is good. But, this app is a huge bargain, stable and does exactly what I need for $10. Cannot beat that!
