My biggest complaint about this app (aside from the fact that it hasn't been updated in four years) is that for some reason, it requires you to paste in the link to the review you want to check, even though you open the app directly from the review. It's a pain. Since the app hasn't been updated in so long, though, I don't have much hope that the developers are monitoring these app reviews.
I came to the reviews looking for answers and did not find any, but I figured it out, so hopefully this helps someone. When I downloaded the app, I went to follow the instructions on adding the action but could not find the app in the “...” as indicated in the instructions. I also couldn’t find it in the list of actions below the app icons as some people here advised. It wasn’t even showing up on my list of installed apps in the Settings app. So I turned my phone off and turned it back on, and it appears now on the list of actions below the sharing options and apps you can share to. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, running what is currently the latest update, 14.4.2.
Thank you Mr Noonan for fixing a problem in my life. It’s kinda been like a rock in my shoe. I know the reviews are iffy but... how else can I get some idea? This will help. Thank you. I’ve found with reviews of bed and breakfasts (when traveling) that actually reading the reviews REALLY helps me a lot. Way more than the number of stars. I’m for products... well, probably the same BUT who wants to read tons of fake news? If a product is wildly reviewed with fake stuff... I’ll know to not waste my time. NOW at least. Again. Thank you for making my life even just a little better. Nice NPR spot! Shout out Planet Money!!
It is nice to have an app ok me this to keep companies honest and to my knowledge only two products exsist that can help but both have their flaws. Meta reviews can be confusing as they cram too many messages into one screen. I clicked the hyperlink that says "ignore onetap ratings" and nothing happened. The page did not update or refresh. The entire sentance prior to the link is just confusing as it is under if the link leads to a definition of one tap ratings or if it changes how it filters. This app clearly is intelligent. The brains are there, now time to had it to a graphic artist to clean up the app.
i used to (and do sometimes still, just for interest’s sake) sleuth through individual reviews and reviewer profiles to look for patterns or suspicious activity myself (and yes, flag some along the way) because reviews were CLEARLY not trustworthy. i’ve tried some other apps & sometimes use to compare, but THIS ONE is BY FAR the most thorough, the most informative, the most clearly presented, IMMENSELY HELPFUL for making big & small purchasing decisions... and dare i say FUN for stat-loving consumers like me!
No where did it state that you should restart your phone within the instructions to complete it. I thought I was missing something after following the steps until it was time to share it and add the option. I have an iPhone 12 Pro on the latest iOS. Once you restart your phone, you will then see the option to share it with this app.
This is clearly designed for a phone, not an iPad. When I sit down and shop, I tend to do it on a tablet. The report screen, however, seems to be a fixed size; one appropriate to a phone, but ludicrously tiny, even on my iPad mini. The app works great. It just needs a resizeable (or auto-sizing) window in which you can clearly read the report.
This is a fantastic tool in the age of fake reviews
This worked great for me. It eliminates ratings that don’t have reviews, then it analyzes those reviews and the writer’s other reviews and eliminates those that “look” fake. You then get a revised star score based only on the acceptable reviews. On top of that you can look at why the rating changed, how the distribution of stars changed before/after discarding the filtered reviews.
TLDR: Used to be excellent. Broke a few months ago. Happy to update this review when it is fixed. I assume the fact that it hasn’t been fixed yet is related to the developer either trying to sell or successfully selling the company (based on his public request for a buyer around a year ago). I hope that worked out well for him either way, and I hope whoever owns it currently will fix this for the people who are almost never on desktop (where the service still works very well despite occasional downtime). Thanks!
Since the Pandemic, we have been ordering online. Most of us, rely on people’s personal experiences for reviews and reread some of these reviews to be fake or pulled from other products sold by others as their reviews; has soured. A true resource, to weed through the muck.
You can’t copy and paste a link into the app. The feature from Amazon's website provided by the app does not work. Can’t a search bar where the url can be pasted in added to the app? I have had this app work only once out of all the times I have attempted to use it. Very disappointing.
The app will not work the way the tutorial describes. It does not appear in the “more” or other drop down, though it is downloaded. I can copy/paste a product url into a search bar in the app which is a longer process, but it always comes back as unrecognized and so…no results. I did try restarting the phone, but that fixed nothing. I’m deleting. Waste of time.
The app provides great analysis and details about the reviews. I like that the adjusted rating is quickly viewable with all the details available to understand the adjustment. I will definitely tell my friends about this app!
Seems to be working good… I compared to fake spot to see if they’re same
I like using this in conjunction with Fakespot… And they both are very comparable and come up with the same results really nice to have this valuable tool
I tried the website version and it seemed to work fine, but even after reinstalling I don’t have the option to share to the app. If there was at least the option to copy/paste a link like on the site I could get around it, but the way it is I’m literally unable to use the app for anything.
I have followed the tutorial provided in the app and cannot apply these specific instructions to iOS 15 screens. The tutorial needs to be updated AND the authors need to provide a link to a HELP DESK, which currently does not exist. It’s a pity that a potentially useful app is so poorly supported by the authors, except for an outdated tutorial.
I have to use the site on a browser for it to work. Cannot share as instructed in the tutorial. I’m sure it’s probably because there hasn’t been an update in years. Love the site - hate the app.
I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, iOS 15.6. I just downloaded Review Meta today. When I go to “More,” there is nothing for Review Meta or anything like that. I read one review that said turn ur phone off & on to get this choice to appear. That didn’t happen. Nothing. I would really love for this to work. I’m hoping I can get some help.
I followed the instructions, added the app turned it on. When I click share and then click on the reviewmeta up button, nothing happens. The app itself doesn’t offer any kind of connection for support. If it ever starts working, I’ll update my app review
There’s no way for this app to work, as described. The share function is simply not available. Turned the phone off, then on again. Nothing. Went to write this review then realized this app hasn’t had an update in a year. Go figure… no wonder it won’t work. 🤨
So it shows that I have to hit more and then tick the option but the app doesn’t even show up in my more list or gives me the option to share it to it doesn’t even show up in my app list like the app doesn’t even exist
App is dead there is no way yo access it through sharing button
I followed the tutorial exactly and when I get to the share and select the review app it does nothing. It won’t even open to allow me to set it up and turn it on.
It is a major PITA trying to get through the tutorial and get it to work, only to dump you into a browser that requires you to copy and paste everything, then it doesn’t make it to the app, so what’s the point?
Even after restarting my phone like multiple reviews say, the actions that shows up in the share sheet only opens a browser where I still need to paste the product URL. This defeats the whole purpose of the app.
The app would be great if it was easier to use. My check review button stopped working for the app after my first use and there isn’t a support number to call to fix it. Very disappointing
Absolute garbage! Try other apps! They will all be at least close rating reviews good vs bad. This app is always the only one giving very nice positive reviews to products that all other apps give an “F” grade to. Please do your research before relying on this app for accurate information.
This app has not been updated in 3 years. That is why it no longer works. Find an alternative if you want the once native experience, and cannot make small adjustments to your workflow to experience it.
Update Just not working or producing like it used to.
It’s very useful. I wish they could fine tune it, but maybe that’s not possible. I often compare it to Fakespot and they can be opposite lol! I trust ReviewMeta more so I say get it!
Opening with ReviewMeta just opens the copy/paste url screen. It doesn’t automatically pass the url to the app. Worthless right now, stick with Fakespot until they fix it.
Fake reviewers are sadly more sophisticated than the technology behind this app. It gives a passing grade to items that clearly have thousands of fake positive reviews, and the only real reviews are 1 and 2 stars.
I love this app when it’s actually working, but it never loads anymore and I can’t upload the item I want to review to the app. The website doesn’t even load.
ReviewMeta is a free app that analyzes Amazon product reviews and filters out reviews that look suspicious or unnatural, giving you an "Adjusted Rating" that shows you what real, unbiased shoppers truly think of the product... a rating you can trust. This app is a "must have" for anyone who frequently shops on Amazon. Numerous studies and reports have shown that many of the product reviews on Amazon are fake, biased, incentivized or otherwise unnatural. These reviews skew the product ratings, making it difficult for Amazon shoppers to trust the ratings and reviews. ReviewMeta uses advanced algorithms and data analysis techniques to identify customer reviews that may be unnatural. It then removes (i.e. filters out) those suspicious reviews and generates an "Adjusted Rating" using only the reviews and ratings deemed natural (i.e. organic) and therefore trustworthy. Checking an Amazon product's adjusted ReviewMeta rating is fast and easy using this app. Simply click the 'Share' icon while viewing an Amazon product within the Amazon Shopping app OR in any web browser app (i.e. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.). The ReviewMeta app keeps a history of all of the Amazon products you've checked (for easy access later on), and it also allows you to tag your favorite products to create a personalized Amazon wish list. Never buy anything on Amazon again without first checking its true rating using this free ReviewMeta app!
