I get the idea of this app but it needs work.. as for people complaining about the resort, go cry to to a review site.. who in there right mind would take a timeshare tour on there last day?
The hotel I traveled to promotes a lying and cheating company called royalresorts who has a sales campaign when you enter the premesis. They offered free nights and other free gifts to listen to a sales campaign. We told the royalresorts rep we had 1 hour before we had a checkout and needed to leave to the airport. He said that was okay and we would still receive free gifts if we listened to the speech. The royalresorts rep told us to tell his company that is was not our last day to be eligible for the free gifts (essentially to lie) and then 1 hour was enough time. We wasted the last hour of our vacation listening to this crap, on a false premises, and didn’t receive any promotional offers. I will tell all my friends not to come back to grand princess riviera. This left a bad taste in our mouth as it was the last experience before leaving the hotel.
I used the app to pay my bill in May 2024. I specifically chose to pay in Mexican pesos in the app and Royal Resorts still charged me in the USD amount using their terrible exchange rate instead of the market rate. I specifically tried using the app because it’s always a challenge trying to get the front desk to bill in Mexican pesos. The app cost me a difference of about $150, and I have reported the charge to my credit card company as fraudulent. If you care about paying in pesos to get the better exchange rate, do not use this app.
Great for tracking expenses but in order to get points applied correctly you have to go to the front desk to check out. It would be nice if you could assign the points to the particular member and close out on the app without having to go to the front desk and stand in line.
I was ready to check out and pay my bill on the app. Found out it doesn't provide an option for members to apply their Royal Resort points to the bill. For members that would beer very helpful. Friends of ours used the app and when they went to leave the bell boys didn't know what to do with the iPhone receipt. They needed a paper checkout receipt. Need to inform employees how to accept the app on leaving
My app when I first downloaded it worked great. 2nd trip down and the app does not have my up coming trip. I called to inquire and was told my new trip would show up 7 days prior to my vacation. I am 3 days out and still no current trip loaded so I am unable to make reservations, shop at the store or arrange transportation through the app. I reloaded the app and it still doesn’t work. So disappointed!
Doesn’t work at all. I deleted it and reinstalled and when I open it there’s nothing there. Every thing is blank except restaurants and activities. It won’t let me access my account information or pay my bill. Very frustrating I don’t have any alternative but to call them. So much for the ease of using the app!
I started entering the names of our guests and on the sixth guest, the app froze and I had to close it. I opened it up again and again it froze. I have no idea if the first 5 guests have saved or not as the app won't work. Update: I tried again to get into the pre-arrival list of guests but all it does is go round and round "loading..." going nowhere.
Restaurant list is outdated. The Royal Sand’s “new” restaurants are not shown. Can only make a reservation at Hacienda Sisal at the Royal Sands. Does show upcoming stay and transfers. I expect this app will go away with the new owner (Holiday Inn).
I have IOS 13.1. I like the app because I can view my charges. But the print is extremely small and will not allow my IPAD to expand to enlarge the print.
Unusable and crashes when you open services. Very frustrating when the staff tells you to use the USELESS app….. Just give me a paper menu like every other normal Hotel.
The notes say that restaurant reservation functionality was included in latest revision. It was not. That function resides in the royal dining app. The app restricts pre registration to 60 days in advance. The main web site states that pre registration may be made 90 days in advance. Guests are listed either as “Primary” or “ Guest” with no explanation. The primary guest is the person who accumulates the resort points awarded as a result of the visit. When you log into the app the occupants from your last visit are listed. There is no way to delete guests. If they are the same for your upcoming visit just click on save. If you are bringing different guests you must call to have the deletions made.You can add guests within the app by clicking on the plus tab. If you log in and you are listed as the primary guest you can select another on the list as the primary guest. Once you save the selection you cannot change it back. Only a logged in primary guest may change the selection. If instructions are available on how to use the app I did not find them.
