First time renting and it was a blast. Renter was very nice and walked me through everything. Texted him when I arrived to my camping location and he responded quickly. Trailer was more than enough for comfort and enjoyment. They supplied all the amenities but we still brought ours. We loved the awning that has built in speakers to enjoy music while sitting outside the trailer. Everything worked flawlessly and made our camping experience very enjoyable. I would definitely rent from Jamie again and will keep him as a favorite when it comes to renting again. Thanks for the wonderful experience of camping and made life so easy and enjoyable to camp in your trailer. Would absolutely recommend to any one that wants to rent a RV to use this one. Can’t go wrong. Easy to tow, comfortable to sleep in and everything works flawlessly.
Love the premise of this site, VRBO for campers. Easy to search by locations and other important filters. Only complaints: had issues with the ID online verification process which required me to teach out to customer support to complete my reservation. Then I missed the emails (they went to spam) indicating I had to complete the next step so it auto-canceled on me, so I had to rebook it. Would be nice to get text alerts too too avoid the spam issue. Next, I keep getting alerts to review the initial walk -thru documentation the day before we were going on our trip, the notification even said that I had until end of day to complete it, and this was the day before we even got the camper, so that had me worried that my reservation would auto-cancel again, luckily it didn’t. I didn’t want to sign off on the doc before even seeing the camper. And lastly, it was a pain to figure out how to leave a review as there wasn’t an option to leave a review, even though our trip showed “completed”, but on another page it said the owner needed to complete inspection form? Had to reach out to customer service again to just be able to leave a review, which shouldn’t be the case. I still love the concept though, just a little annoyed at the glitches.
I like this apps ease of use. However, there are still some features that could be improved. I wish we could rate the campers after their trip. To give us owners a better idea of what we’re getting into. If they don’t clean up after themselves or don’t respect our property, we should be able to make that public to hold each user accountable. Knowing they’re being rated should make them care about returning it in good condition. It also frustrates me that the “Create Quote” button doesn’t work when I have someone inquiring about using the camper. Once they give me all the details, I’d like to be able to write up a quote for not only them, but myself. Unfortunately I have to leave the ball in their court to send a booking request before being able to edit the quote & get an idea if I want to entertain. This costs me time & potential customers to not be able to shoot them a quote first, & to have to edit it every time to add proper delivery/gas charges. When I edit it & counter offer, the customer almost always doesn’t realize their booking isn’t finalized yet & the request expires. A lost opportunity. Lastly, one of the reasons the camper might not realize I’ve counter offered is because the app does not notify you when you get a message. I’ve selected for it to notify me, but it still doesn’t. I have to open it several times a day to see if I’ve had any new requests or messages. This plays a huge role in my response time to customers.
The owner contacted us the day before our reservation and stated the camper we reserved was having water issues. They stated we could have a different unit, but it was heavier. Our tow vehicle could not handle the weight of the alternate camper. I asked the owner how we proceed and they that they would cancel the reservation and we would receive a full refund. I messaged daily to see when the reservation would be canceled and the owner did not respond for days. I reached out to Rv share directly and was told the owner had to initiate the cancellation and I needed to keep trying to communicate with the owner. I continued to message the owner and received a response that they had reached out to RV share and cancelled the reservation. When I still hadn’t received any sort of confirmation I called RV Share again and was told the owner had not requested a cancellation and I was to continue to communicate to the owner and wait for them to cancel. In the meantime, someone has over $1100 of mine and I have nothing to show for it!! I’m supposed to receive a call from a manager today, but I’m not holding my breath. Terrible customer service and protection for the renter!
However, the last two conversations I’ve had with the fabulous Asian men who answer my questions, they ask very awkward questions like how is my week-end going or am I enjoying my week-end, at the end of the call! This is or should be as embarrassing for them as it is for me, and I’m a talker! I often chit chat with the people I’m interacting with, but this “forced” friendliness should NOT be initiated by the Cust Svc Rep!!! Especially at the end of the call when all are ready to hang up and move and move on! If RV Share insists that they do this (or perhaps it is their call center???) they should do this chit chat at the beginning of the call while they are pulling account up! It makes no sense at the end! It actually makes no sense at all, frankly! We’re all too busy these days! 🤣
This RV had everything we needed and more. The use of space was well thought out. There are closed bins underneath the beds for storage. There are spices, coffee maker, and the microwave/convection oven was great and easy to use. The bathroom/shower was a great comfortable size. The bonus was the very hot water in the shower. Just as great as the RV was the communication with the owners and their knowledge of all things camping (not just RVs). When I booked, I explained that I was new to RVing and wanted to learn as much as I could. When the RV was delivered, they explained, in great detail the whys and hows of RVing, which I greatly appreciated. By the end I felt very comfortable and looked forward to RVing more. Thank you both so much for making this process easy, enjoyable and even educational. This was an incredible vacation!!!!
In the process of potentially renting a camper. The good: It provides a platform for connecting to RV renters that has a good response rate. Seem to take an honest stand on the way they treat reviews. The bad: Info is lacking on what is supplied on rentals in area. Many states require anti-sway and brakes (not useable with 7-pin to 4 flat adaptors) this info should be mandatory for owners to specify. Ask for tow vehicle information but apparently don’t supply that to owners which just wastes everyone’s time. No way to remove or organize responses. No way to enter requirements or desires that could be reviewed by potential owners to screen notifications. “Worry free guarantee “ should include any campsite deposit losses during the rental agreement period due to wrongful denial of RV, breakdown and repair delays, and inability of company to find a suitable replacement vehicle within a time frame that would allow you to get to the reserved campground. If and when I rent will revise.
We rented from an AWESOME husband Donna and wife Bettye team!!! I will do it again in a heartbeat!!! The camper was immaculate, and when Ms. Bettye says “she has everything any one would need” it’s the absolute truth, she literally had EVERYTHING you could want or need during your trip. All we had to do was “show up with our selves and our clothing” she left no stone unturned. It was very clean, they even had covers for the picnic tables, which I had never seen before!!!! They are both very pleasant and very friendly, very understanding, very communicative! Ms. Bettye even went out of her way to meet me because I accidentally took their cooler! We WILL be renting from them again!!! Thx for EVERYTHING!! They made the process very easy!
RV stranded in Nebraska, RV share unwilling to help
I am an RV owner who has been through a very bad experience through RV share. My RV was rented for 6 weeks. A week into the reservation a warranty covered emissions valve caused the RV to break down and need repair. The RV was in Nebraska and we are in California. RV share’s insurance covers towing for maintenance issues, phew!, but only up to 200 miles. Their quote for getting it back to California was $20k. Our other option is to leave the RV in Omaha until the part is available..for 6-12mos. Not only do we not have options for getting our RV back, we are also expected to reimburse the renters for the time they weren’t able to use the RV. RV share actually encouraged us not to refund the renters, as we weren’t required to do so. We couldn’t do that to them, as they had to rent another RV to complete their trip. Stuck RV, broke, and RV share unwilling to help. Please use Outdoorsy or another service. RV share take 25% of every booking and they provide no support. Very sad and very disappointed with you, RV Share!
One of my biggest complaints about renting our RV on RVShare was the lack of a decent smartphone app to help manage bookings (unlike a certain competitor of theirs). The renter view (searching filtering and such), along with the inbox and reservation detail view are great, someone took some time to make sure they would look and function well on a phone. The calendar view, and the view showing your list of reservations is very obviously just mirroring the same pages from their website, and it’s really clunky on a phone. I would love to be able to manage the calendar in a more phone friendly way (similar controls and scrolling to the base calendar app that comes with your phone). Very happy that I can do most of what I need without sitting down at a computer though, and I’m sure they will continue to improve the app as time goes on.
Beware of this website and the fine print when you do rent. Unless you fill out a departure form that we weren’t aware of, you won’t get a refund for literally anything. We had our trailer show up with the gray water tank full, wasn’t cleaned, almost all amnesties were broken. The owner had his friend drop it off who never did a walk through with us and told us everything was fine. We trusted that because I didn’t think this would ever happen, but boy did we learn our lesson. I let the owner know as soon as the trailer was dropped off to us and we did actually do a thorough walk through ourselves. I documented literally everything, with time stamps and took videos. Then after the owner took some accountability, he turned around and tried to blame us and told us we were scamming him. How this app handles business and treats renters is disgraceful. Please do your self a favor and look into different apps to rent from!!!
Dallas and his wife were amazing. They explained everything about RV to us. They were on time for both drop off and pick up. They were available to reach anytime if we had questions, I’d recommend them to anyone! They left us a little gift basket which was so appreciated. Their RV is equipped with everything you need for camping. The full size fridge was awesome. Honestly the only thing we needed to bring for the whole week was our cloths and food. I would give them 10 stars if it was an option.
Unfortunately I had a frustrating experience. This is not a great time of year to rent a trailer, feels like a bot site. I would request a trailer for rent, they’d take a credit card and then cancel or not respond at all. Overall pretty big waste of time. Right when you think you finally have a trailer scheduled, go through their identification process, you find out you were cancelled and have to do it all over again. Really dumb way to spend your time. Went to the higher priced competitor site (probably owned by the same company) and reserve a trailer first try without any gimmicky verification process. I could go into full detail, however read too many of those and how they sound. I should really let my Karen loose and dance like no one’s watching. But hey, might work for you just fine. Good luck and eff #RVnoshare- lol…. Last turning into your parents statement: sad I was forced to give any star rating.
The app is clunky and some requirements in my opinion are unnecessary. For example having to load pictures of your drivers license front and back as well as 3 selfie pictures to rent a trailer that you aren’t physically going to be driving doesn’t make sense to me. It’s no different than renting a hotel room at that point. Plus the app doesn’t like to accept the selfies from certain phones and you have to call in anyhow and email them to someone in India or wherever the call center is from. Not real comfortable. Then whoever I sent the pictures to never updated the file so a week later our reservation was cancelled because identification verification wasn’t received. I then had to go through the process over again. Very inconvenient.
Great features but a couple bugs. I used my Apple ID to create an account and it uses an Apple ID relay for my email. The app isn’t compatible with this an it wouldn’t process my reservation. Customer service couldn’t figure it out so I asked them to change my email to my personal email and it worked. There was also a bug adding my DL picture and my picture. It kept creating an error, I reinstalled the app and it accepted the pictures and I submitted. Then weeks later they refunded my credit card and that’s the only way I knew my reservation was cancelled. I thought we were all set. They claimed they never received my pictures for insurance verification and cancelled me. But no call or email notice. Not even a notice in the app.
The RV Share app suffers from poor communication and customer service. Despite attempting to book a trip on three separate occasions, my experience was marred by a complete lack of communication from the company. Each time, my trip was abruptly canceled without any notification via text or call, leading to frustration and confusion. To make matters worse, RV Share charged and refunded my card each time my trip was canceled, causing additional inconvenience and hassle. The lack of communication and the multiple charges and refunds were unacceptable and left a lot to be desired in terms of customer service. Ultimately, the only way I was able to resolve my booking issues was by obtaining the owner's cell phone number through a brief release from the app. This experience has left me with a negative impression of RV Share, and I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable and communicative service. Overall, the RV Share has proven to be a disappointing experience that falls short of expectations. The complete lack of communication and the inconvenience caused by multiple charges and refunds is unacceptable. I will be deleting my account with this company and seeking a more reliable option for my future travel needs.
I’m so sad! I Tealty wanted to use the site. I have a vacation next week that I’ve been trying to plan an RV for and the last two times I’ve booked, the people have canceled saying that their RVs are under repair. Why the heck would they have it listed to rent if it’s under Repair. I’m not happy at all with the site, they need to vet their people better!!!! They need to make the rental process easier. You have to contact the buyer and they have 24 hours to get back to you. The problem is you can’t contact other people until they deny you!! you should be able to contact as many people as you want and then the first one to get back to you should be the one. Instead you have to wait 24 hours for each person and these people are not contacting me back till the 24th hour. Will never use the site again they have it all wrong. Terrible
RV Share has not returned my $500 deposit. I returned my RV nearly 2 months ago and have called their customer service 3 times. Initially we had a $20 claim against the deposit for a propane cover that blew off while driving. I was told that cost would come out of the deposit - no problem. The owner cancelled the claim, however, for such minimal damage. After I didn’t get the deposit back I called customer service. RV Share customer service claimed they had no record of the damage claim being cancelled. However, but they hadn’t charged me $20 for the damage nor returned the deposit. After the RV owner’s second call to RV Share service on our behalf to cancel the claim and return our deposit, RV Share told him it’d be returned in 5-7 days. That was 3 weeks ago. I called customer service twice since then and am repeatedly told, “The claim has been cancelled, and they’re working on returning the deposit.” Come Monday, if it’s not in my account I’m filing a claim with the BBB. I will never do business with this company again. Oh, yeah - and the app didn’t work until a recent update. I could not use it to communicate with the owner nor access our reservation details with it. Fortunately, the web site worked.
I have rented RVs for several years and the last two have been nightmares. Last year the Rv owner canceled our reservation (that I made 3 months in advance) 2 days before our scheduled trip. I had no recourse and there were no actions taken against the renter. They are happy to take your money but you have no security. Thankfully I found one from a local who I paid directly for theirs. This year they are making the descriptions for pick up and delivery options in a way that are not clear. So I book it to find out my camp ground is not approved by the Rv owner or that they don’t allow pick up. The customer service has no authority or recourse to help narrow it down. I now use GoodSam and have found the process much easier. Their descriptions are more honest in set up so I can see the information before booking.
Rv share has changed insurance companies for their rentals this year. Nothing but problems . The insurance is not an option. I have had two renters whose insurance info they submitted was somehow deleted without their knowledge, then rv share canceled the reservation without consulting them or me first. One of the renters just didn't want to bother with the resubmission and canceled. The other renter who has rented from us three other times was made to feel inept by the customer service agent. This is not acceptable. The customer service dept is outsourced to a different country and the agents do not speak english well, and they talk very fast. I will be deleting my listing as soon as my current renters are finished. I highly recommend rv share considers these issues. I would not recommend using rv share to anyone given these issues.
The app is quick and easy to navigate, but there are a couple details that got overlooked in this early version that the developer should update to make this app better. 1) In the messages, the field where you type your response should be set to use the text that automatically begins sentences with a capital letter. Right now, it’s all lowercase. 2) In that same messages field, it should be set such that the response your typing grows the window vertically as you add text that goes beyond one line. Right now, it’s just one line of text, so if you write a long response and want to proofread it, you have to scroll sideways through the whole message to see/read what you wrote.
Tried RVshare once and it didn't end up well. When returning the RV, The owner told us that there would be some damage and mileage charges totaling about $300. Those fees were listed on a RV return form and we signed and the owner kept the form. But the owner later added more damage charges and even a late fee and the total went over $500... The owner refused to provide anything to justify the change or even a copy of the signed form. We contacted RVshare several times but they just kept emphasizing the charges are reasonable... After some efforts, we found that in fact any RV owner can charge an extra fee without any proof as long as the fee is less than $600. This “$600 hidden fee” rule was written somewhere in RVShare’s user agreements. So every renter should be prepared to pay an extra hidden fee and you can do nothing about it...
Maybe they do have legitimate people on here. But, my first and last experience was horrific. Watch out for this scam, because RVshare will not refund you based on their policy that allows scammers to get away with this. The scammer waits for a victim to make a reservation after the cancellation date, then leave a vague voicemail outside this system implying that they won’t have a camper. Refuse to answer their phone, disables their voicemail, refuse to answer messages in this system. The scammer knows campers are limited on short notice and that you the victim will probably set up another camper elsewhere. When the victim goes to cancel the scammer starts to finally answering your messages like everything is ok. They made money in less than 24 hours on the booking and you can only get 50% of your booking as a refund. I wasted literally thousands on this scam. I created a ticket with RVShare and they said that the cancellation policy is clear and that they don’t issue full refunds. The scammer literally gets money in the pocket and nothing you can do about it. Last time I will ever use this app.
Great to finally have an app. I’m an owner and this has been a request for a long time by owners and customers. A lot of stuff in the settings tab still bring you to website. Love being able to message customers in the app but I don’t seem to get notifications thru the app when messages get sent to me. Even though Notifications of app have been turned on in settings. I have two phone numbers and not always near the one that gets the texts so would love to have the notifications on the app working so don’t have to rely on text to that specific number. Your website does not allow more than one number to get the text.
Very frustrating app to use. Many glitches that after entering all your data to set up a search, it exits out and you have to start all over again. This happened many times. Then when trying to type in information, the key pad pop up screen is right over the box you’re trying to type information in so you’re unable to see what is being typed. I finally got to where I found a unit to rent, but the prices shown are misleading as in VRBO or Airbnb services. They add on all sorts of “Fees” and insurances, even after the “booking” price is shown. I cancelled the reservation because it kept adding on additional fees that were not part of the original booking quote that already included fees.
1. Was told verifiably inaccurate information by multiple reps 2. Poor app function with innacurate costs displayed including erroneous $50 up charge for flexible pick up times 3. Emailed me information and warning of “Urgent Cancellation Deadline” just a couple days prior to the trip due to a lack of insurance coverage….which was mistakenly sent to me but intended for a different customer. One of multiple mishaps. 4. Dishonest encounter with one of the reps just 3 days prior to trip regarding an error on their end 5. Supervisor stated they would make things right and admitted multiple mistakes on recorded call. The “making it right” was disingenuous and offered me 5% cash back on my second booking….which is standard protocol with every rental as detailed in a routine email I received days earlier. “Each Rental earns you 5% cash back rewards to use toward your next rental” 6. Delayed replies and ultimately did not reply to emails. 7. I will never use RVshare again (also routinely charges more than other companies). I previously used Outdoorsy and had a wonderful experience. I recommend Outdoorsy.
Miss Kayla it was a wonderful experience to have such a beautiful looking trailer here at my house everything was immaculate and your dad was a great help getting us set up and leveled out so that the pop outs would work correctly in the future I would definitely rent this from you again thank you from the bottom of my heart so that my family didn’t have to leave my property over the weekend
For those looking to rent thier assets through this app, BEWARE! Listing price is set at our selected nightly rate. It varies based on weekends or week nights. But… Every time someone books the price they’re quoted is nearly half of what the actual rental value is set at. Then we have to explain it’s a pricing glitch and that’s upsetting for everyone involved. It’s almost like a bait and switch tactic which is completely unethical. I’ve attempted to contact the developers with no success. Go back in to the system to reset the price but it shows our set rental price and not what the renters are seeing. Additionally, you are charged 25% of your rental fee as a payout to use this platform. This seems ridiculously high and there’s no response from the developers to make a change or get this amount lowered after 2 years of using this service. Although a good idea this app and model needs some improvement. It’s tempting to simply dump this app and stick with those who charge 10% fees and respond to app issues when they arise.
My family rented an RV for tailgating at a college football game. The owner said that there was some slight damage on their awning. It was a rainy, windy day and I'm not exactly sure if we even caused the damage but we agreed to pay them the money. The cost was $50 which then ended up to be $100. We said we would Venmo him but he chose to file a claim and they paid him the money from our security deposit. We are now fighting the insurance company to get the remainder of our security back which is $900. They said, although the case has been closed, they are holding on to the money until they "feel appropriate ". This seems like a bit of a scam IMO. The RV was definitely not worth the hassle and in the future we will be staying in a hotel!!
Overpriced with excessive requirements to personal data
25% commission, have to open a stripe account and provide access to a bank account, and then when you get your first message another third party is required to store a copy of your license and other biometric data for up to 360 days to verify your identity. This company then uses another company (Microsoft Ireland) which can do what they want with your data for as long as they want. Essentially they are selling your data to Microsoft because 25% of your commission wasn’t enough. This is why so many fees are charged by the camper owners, they don’t take any of that money - yet. Terrible practice, I hope others push them out. Use Facebook marketplace or craigslist or frontporch forum. Just terrible.
I like using the app to book RVs but have become extremely frustrated with the Smart Match. I’ve disabled all smart match notifications but still get an exorbitant amount of text messages, all of which end up being a smart match message once I click the link to open the App. I’ve had to unsubscribe from all alerts so that my phone stops blowing up all day. Which now forces me to not be able to get text updates for when I get important messages about my reservations. The ability to completely opt out of smart matches needs added. I’m not interested in being matched. Every smart match has been outside of the filters selected in our searches anyway, really increasing the frustration.
I was intrigued in starting an RV rental business. So I starting researching everything and called RV Share and asked all the the questions I could, specially one. “Is there an age requirement” they told me no, you can post whatever age RV you want. Well after listing a Tent Trailer I specially bought for renting out, there was several cancellations by RV Share after people booked. They said it was an insurance form the renter didn’t fill out at first, then they tell them it’s RV Shares insurance and the trailer is too old…. Hmmmm. So I call and ask after an hour in the phone and yep it’s true, I can post the trailer but the insurance company they use can’t insure it. These workers aren’t knowledgeable and wasted a lot of my time and money! Thanks for nothing, this company is a joke!
Listing was accurate and owners were good to work with. Details leading up to pick up date were not clear. Made contact with RV Share to get the information needed. I seem to remember that the customer service person with spike with had a deep accent of East Indian descent that was hard to understand. We had to ask the person to repeat themselves several times. Would we use RV Share again. Yes, but the process could be made a little easier next time by better communication after we pay and before we pick up the RV.
RV Share offers false sense of security with fraudulent insurance
RV Share will tell you that you are covered with the insurance it requires you to buy, while knowing that there is a HUGE insurance loophole that will make you liable for even higher fees than any repairs from an accident. They know their minimal insurance - and all insurance for that matter - leaves you wide open to personally being sued by the owner for loss of use and the cost to retrieve the RV (if you drove it to another state, etc). If you want to stay out of court, do yourself a favor and just save up the money yourself for your own RV or pop up camper. You stand to lose 4-10x the amount you spend to rent one should you have an accident (very common with these).
There is an option to sign up as a business/dealer. We are a small, licensed permitted and insured small business who would like to continue to reach National customers through this platform. I do not need to charge customers insurance - we have it. The fees are impossible - we are already paying business taxes - if the option is here for businesses to sign up, take way less fees and make it affordable for small rv rental businesses to make clean professional options Available here for customers. These fees take away all of the profit margin and make the trip way to expensive for the customer which results in lost rentals. Really poor planning with this aspect
My experience with RV Share has been nothing short of frustrating. The customer service is abysmal. If you have an issue that needs to be resolved over the phone, expect to be connected to a call center where the employees barely speak English and refuse to escalate your call. Instead of speaking with a higher authority, they will either transfer you to another employee of the same rank or pretend to be the supervisor themselves. Moreover, the additional fees tacked on are outrageously high. You’re much better off looking for a local person who rents out RVs—it will be significantly cheaper. Avoid RV Share if you value your time, money, and sanity.
The rv software is not extrinsically easy to use. I am the computer user in our family and I had to call twice to finish a rental agreement. My husband would have given up much earlier; he was paying and threw his phone as he couldn’t figure out how to work through your programming. It’s not set up for first time users. Three stars as it was not easy to rent through the programming; great dealing with the owners once I took over the project. Make your site better for people who are not used to dealing on the internet.
I’ve spent the last week trying to book a 4 day trip in August, 8 months from now. The sheer frustration of trying to get in contact with owners makes me never want to use this app again. Out of maybe 15 messages, only one responded to me within 24 hours. In addition, some owners will let you know 72 hours after requesting that the days you asked for aren’t available. So why weren’t they blocked out on the calendar? RVShare needs to hold their owners accountable and improve communication and transparency. I had a MUCH better experience with outdoorsy and would recommend everyone use them instead.
I think this company just takes the money from both owner and renter. No regard to the needs of the people. Don’t make a mistake on your rental as it is irreversible. I thought I had to list my husband as an additional driver cuz when I tried to list him as the driver it initially would not let me - as the account is in my name. So I went ahead and added him as an Additional driver. But as the date approached the days I rented the unit, I noticed that my husband was listed as the Primary driver AND Additional driver. So I called RV Share and they would not refund for additional charge of $54 and they wouldn’t even change the additional driver with my name. Rip Off!
I was excited to put our camper on the site after hearing such great things about it but our experience hasn’t been the same. I’m sure it’s operator error but communication hasn’t been the best, knowing how to solve issues hasn’t been pleasant and after a booking that I’ve had for two months, with everything being verified and my directions sent on what to print out, we wake up this morning with a message from our renter that said the reservation has been cancelled because once again our insurance can’t be verified. Really hope this can get worked out and the review can be changed.
The service is fine. I’ve had no issues as an owner using the service but the app is really really bad. It appears to just be an app version of their website. It’s terribly buggy and takes 15-20 mins for the pre trip photos to upload, and that’s assuming the app doesn’t crash after 10 mins. The built in photo feature is really bad, requiring you to take photos from quite a distance, which is impossible to do, unless you have an entire parking lot to yourself.
One day before trip app on phone said canceled, went on computer and everything appeared good. Texted owner, he said everything was fine. Don’t know was was wrong with app. Owner was delivering trailer, but website tells me I’m picking trailer up. Clunky website. Didn’t include insurance on total cost sheet. I know it wasn’t charged yet, till close to trip date, still should have been listed with note saying charged later.
If I could leave 0 starts I would. Very poor system. A kid could do a better job. To begin with I was not gonna drive because the trailer it would be delivered. When I made my account they accepted my DL which is a learner's permit. I booked my trip almost 3 months before and just 2 days before they canceled my trip because guess what? My DL! Even though I was not driving I had to add a second driver with a regular DL. I rebooked and added but they don't even check the information they requested and canceled again. I called so many times to resolve the issue. Never will use Rvshare again! First and last time!
The departure form should allow for pictures upon delivery. Most of store our campers and can’t get photos from one of the sides until we are hooked up which is day of delivery. Taking the photos from the App- it is on zoom with no way to zoom out. I would have to be 50ft or more away from the camper to get a photo in your screen. As of now I take photos and use the add photo option and take pics upon delivery since todays camera phone time stamp. You should look into this.
Choosing dates and booking was easy but finding reservations and account was not. Also, I chose owner delivery and setup and RV share only offered insurance as if I were a driver but it’s a trailer and drop off and it forced me to buy insurance for driving the vehicle and insurance options were not viewable. If you chose delivery, it should automatically switch coverage option to damage insurance not drivers insurance and what it covers not clear. I overpaid on the insurance and feel ripped off by RV share site.
I finally delisted my RV on RVshare. I cannot believe the lack of support for owners or the app and website issues that they will not fix. I have been renting through them since 2020 and it has been a frustrating experience. Today is September 5th and my Rv was wrecked by a renter July 10th. I have missed 2 calls from however they contract to resolve. It takes him a week to return my call and he refuses to email. RVshare has never contacted me directly even though I have reached out to them through chat and phone. I highly recommend Outdoorsy. They are the exact opposite and their fees are lower.
Fees are excessive, customer service is difficult to work with
RV share used to be so awesome to book through but now their fees are outrageous. The dumbest thing they’ve done is charge for additional drivers $10/day. The primary account holder MUST be primary driver even if you aren’t going to be driving. I had to add and pay for an additional driver on our last trip even though I never drove, or had any intention of driving. I called customer support to see if they could help me out and no one could waive the additional driver fee and no manager is ever available. I’m so disappointed in RV share and the nickel and diming.
I’ve been trying for 2 days now to complete the ID verification. What a joke. Submitted the front and back of my drivers license, then the selfie of my face, for it to kick me back to the beginning again. Extremely frustrating when the process to complete a task doesn’t work properly. I tried completing it on my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. I don’t understand why there just isn’t an option to upload photos of all three? Good luck trying to find a direct contact without jumping through the automated system.
Please use any other app before this one. I sadly agree with some of the past negative reviews. RVshare is lacking in customer service and the owners are able to add all kinds of hidden fees and charges with absolutely no proof the renters did any of the damages they claim. $500 security deposit and on top of that I’m still getting hit with bogus additional charges. RVShare said those charges could go up depending on what the owners claim was damaged. These owners are allowed to add all kinds of charges even after the RV is dropped off and reservation is completed and need to prove nothing to do it. Run anywhere else!
They sent me an email, saying if I did not purchase insurance the trip will be canceled. It was a holiday weekend so I had to wait until the following Tuesday to call them. When I called them, they said Insurance was already included in the price. If I would have clicked on the link from their website and purchased insurance, I would have done it for nothing but there’s nothing to let you know that you’ve already purchased insurance and they make it look like you have to purchase insurance or your trip will be canceled. I canceled the RVshare and will go through someone else.
