Like Bass Pro & Sportsman’s Warehouse, Scheels has invested a lot to ensure their website is easy for users to maneuver. What sets Scheels apart from the competitors is that their “on-hand” quantities shown are actually accurate! Given that much (if not most) of a store’s sales now come from their online platform, you would think this would be a priority. Obviously it is for Scheels, which is why 90% of my online hunting, outdoors & shooting shopping is from them. Kudos & a model others need to emulate.
I used to love using this app for shopping and managing my credit card. But the app seems to be getting progressively worse. I have to continually open then close the app to get it to load all the way. This morning was the breaking point. After many attempts it finally loaded completely but then suddenly closed itself, did this many times. I finally gave up and had to use the Scheels Visa app to pay my card. And the shopping side of the app has failed me many times as well, refusing to put things in the cart forcing me to have to use the website to shop. Not sure what’s going on but this app used to be great. Hopefully the developers are actually reading some of these reviews and will make some positive changes.
I was having trouble paying for a online order using gift card balance and it only wanted new money , All morning I was going around in circles on the website then I used the phone app and in three minutes I was able to order and pay using the money still on my gift card using my phone .
I love Scheels and the app. One of my favorite features was the heart at the bottom where I could click and save items that I am interested in and wait for the right time to purchase. With the latest app updates, that heart is gone. So if I want to view my saved favorites and lists, I have to login into my account on the website, so why bother using the app? Please bring back the “saved” favorites feature in the app.
Bailey was helping me to verify the price match for an item I found from a competitor. She applied the discount to my account and it was so easy to checkout online. I prefer to shop at Scheels they price match and they have a great selection! The people that work there are friendly and so eager to be of assistance! The best customer service!
I see other reviews with this same issue. In my case I attempted to order MTM Case-Gard products, but they were all “restricted” and I was directed to go to the website to order them: they are plastic boxes!!! I assume that the restriction is because the word “ammo” is used in the description of the items. I contacted customer service via the chat feature and was again directed to the website to order the items and that they would forward my concerns to another department. I like Scheels, but in this case I used another vendor to get my MTM products due to this issue.
This app is so frustrating, this is my first time using it and i am not pleased at all. I tried to order a pair of shoes and 2 days later I find out that the order has been canceled when I did not cancel it. I tried to reorder the shoes again and they didn’t have my size so I tried to order another pair instead. I ordered the shoes and exited out of the app, a few minutes later I got back in the app to find that the shoes were not in my cart. I called Scheels and they blamed it on my bank account. 1/5 do NOT recommend this app.
This app is easy to use and useful. In my humble opinion, it is missing one feature that would make it better! The store asks for my phone number, so obviously they are tracking my purchases. With that, I wish that I could see the in store purchases on the app as well. That would be so beneficial!
This app is awful. Sure the navigation works… kind of. When you filter to your store if literally shows items that aren’t available. Only wasting my time even more. To top it off when I go to check out it keeps saying to “fix” my information only repeatedly forcing me to fill out info I already did without ever letting me actually check out. Just go to the store, because their app was clearly giving the smallest budget.
What’s the point of having an app to order products when I can’t because it’s “restricted?” I don’t understand why I can’t purchase a Pelican case for sensitive equipment (i.e. cameras) through the app. There is no mention of this on the website and makes no sense when viewing the products here. I’d like to have the ability to utilize one resource for ordering without having to log into the site to finalize my orders.
I recently have noticed the app getting progressively worse. My card info will not load at all sometimes and it does take forever for payments to process through too. There definitely needs to be an update to the software or something because the lagging and not being able to load your account info or card info can be super frustrating.
Always glitchy Item descriptions take forever to come up *if they come up Coupons rarely work - you need to call customer service to get them to work or wait for the fix and hope things in your cart are still there Your rewards are not always there - will regularly say error - very frustrating I wish this app would up its game, reduce glitches and make sure wallet section works
Just another reason who I love shopping at SCHEELS! Super easy app with all of the best products in the industry. Plus I can even buy online and pickup in store for those last minute items too!
Scheels updated their website and database of accounts
Unable to sign in because of the update on their end. So all my order history for $6,000 plus last month is gone. I had signed up for vortex military discount and that is gone. They told me to create a new account and don’t worry about order history just give us more money basically. They lost $500 purchase I have switched to another retailer. Euro optic
The app is amazing. But this new update they removed the favorites at the bottom of the screen. It would be nice if they put a new tab under the Account screen so we don’t have to sign in to the internet version.
App is great and convenient. Only issue is I still can’t set up auto pay for my Scheels card. Auto pay stood always be an option but apparently Scheels doesn’t want to offer this.
The website is easy to maneuver, point balance readily available, though I live the store experience, when the weather is bad and the shipping is free, can’t beat it👍👍
My kids love going to Scheels to ride the Ferris wheel and they have everything we need. With the app it’s now even more convenient to store gift cards and automatically get my Visa reward gift cards!
I found a lower price on a different website and was able to send a link to customer service and they adjusted the price in my cart. Awesome Service Scheels thanks.

As usual Scheels always comes to the rescue, easy to find a item you are looking for at good prices and fast expedited service. I strongly recommend Scheels !!!
I can never receive any sort of order confirmation from online orders and had to wait repeated times trying to order something to only have it pending then randomly cancel. The browser and the app show completely different information regarding my account and recent purchases along with dates. Horrible app.
SCHEELS is my FAVORITE store. Unfortunately I moved to Florida and there isn’t a Scheels store down here, so I have to order online. PLEASE consider opening a Scheels store in Jacksonville, Florida. We desperately need your quality store down here.
Downloaded, never made it past the find your store location. There are no stores near me, keyed in zip for closest store and still no store listed there. App wouldn’t let me go beyond that so deleted app.
Please get rid of the pop up that comes up when the app opens-the one that tries to redirect a person to the Scheels mobile app. I can’t close this because it covers the screen, I do not want to use the shopping app, I just want to be able to access the cards I have associated with this app.
I have an iphone SE. when I try to connect my Visa card to app, and enter the last 4 digits, I am stuck. No way to move forward. Been that way since the first version I got of the app. PLEASE FIX!!!!
Managing card take minutes for it to load info, if it does, then won’t work and you have to close the app and try again. It will randomly disconnect my card so I have to log back in. Then start the process over again.
I love going to Scheels in real life and I found this app and I was excited to try it out but as soon as I signed in to my google account on it it just loaded and stayed on the home menu please fix this so I can use it
One thing Scheels needs to do better at is definitely their online orders and shipping. It takes a really really long time to receive your order. There is definite improvement needed in this area.
Love Scheels and my Scheels card but unfortunately my card won’t connect to the app and my app won’t show me any products to buy so I have not been to happy about that!
