The app was great but when I check the cellular data usage SHDL app got 1 GB of data for my 3 day visit in Shanghai Disneyland. The app is not that optimized not unlike in Hong Kong app. Shanghai should make the park map offline and static pictures of attractions so it does not consume data every time it loads. Only the real time wait time must consume data, not the static map and photos at all.
It’s better all the time! Since people don’t usually leave a review unless it’s negative, I thought I’d do an up to date assessment. The app has steadily improved over the years. Most recently it’s been great and it’s really handy to have a map, schedules and wait times displayed in real time. I like that you can search by category within the map and find certain events, restaurants or rides. Although it usually takes some getting used to each time there are changes, the UI has improved with each update. Keep up the good work! Now, if we could just get in the park…
One of the main draws is the ability to get fast passes for your group. The app only lets you link 5 tickets on one account. We have a party of 6 and I was the only one that got a Shanghai Disney account before going to the park. I also had a lot of difficulty signing up for an account in the first place. There are also other issues with the app, such as loosing connection, difficulty logging in and crashing occasionally. All those are would be minor if they just let me link more tickets to the account. We went to Disney World with extended family and I could link my party of 12 all onto my account so I can set up fast passes.
Usually works wonderfully. The last update resulted in no wait times. Everything is just a star despite the Park still being open. A friend checked her non updated app and there are wait times available. Please fix!
Disney has the hospitality angle nailed, but technology is a hot mess. This apps main function is to manage fast pass reservations in the park. This is horribly broken. Passes fall off the list. Every stage has unidentified errors. Some reservations you didn't confirm are made anyways. I don't understand how the Florida and HK apps could be so good and this one such a miserable fail. Terrible, awful, no good app. Would give zero stars if I could.
This is seriously one of the worst apps I've ever used. Trying to register with a foreign account is near impossible and constantly cycles through the sign in with phone number screen. Disney needs to fix this app to be on par with their other parks
Just tried to browse ticket, unfortunately it’s showing “Magic is happening” you just can’t go anywhere or do anything I have to delete the app, not sure whether I can do anything after download again
I can’t even create an account on the app! I get an error every time telling my I have entered an invalid term. I triple checked everything on the form. The error doesn’t tell which field is incorrect. What a waste!
Firstly, if you're experiencing issues using the app (Logging in, wait times, park hours... Basically everything) change your region to United States, the app then functions correctly! Once you've got around this the app works as expected, the same as other Disney Parks! Be good if could get FP returns like the Disneyland (Anaheim, CA) app, it's a big park and a lot of walking when the info should be in your hand. Great start. Fix the above bug and I'll update my star rating.
I've used the Disney app for America and Paris. Shanghai opening cannot come soon enough. Favourite feature is the waiting time - plans will change depending on wait time. Disney is the best!!! Xxoo.
I downloaded this on my iPhone and my iPad for my upcoming trip to the resort, and it works on neither. It keeps telling me I have no internet connection and it cannot update. I have tried it on wifi and using LTE data. I have deleted the app and re-downloaded it. Nothing works. Completely useless.
