The app was very intuitive with nice and simple designs. It was very easy to buy products with Apple Pay or credit card and after logging in I could see my past orders. There are some inconsistencies with the interface where sometimes I can slide to go back and sometimes I am forced to press the button in the upper left, I wish both options would be available. Overall, I like the simplicity and it functions well enough for me for its intended purpose. I have a discount that is applied online for me automatically but it is not applied in the app. Also, when I scroll through the longer pages under “more” such as the Terms and Conditions, the bottom navigation bar disappears and I have to refresh the app to see it again.
I’m a fan of the brand, and the app is beautifully designed and seems to have phenomenal integration with Apple and Apple Pay, however, there are problems. My main issue with this app is that you can’t add items to a shopping cart, because one doesn’t exist. If I wanted to buy multiple items at once, I would not be able to, I’d have to make several purchases. The app also doesn’t synch up with the site, which would be helpful if I started a shopping cart with several items on the site and later decided to come back to that order on my phone, but again: the app has no shopping cart. Another issue: my discounts/coupons do not seem to appear on the app; I currently have two and when I try to check out I have no option for that, nor are they automatically applied to my purchase. At this point I gave up and went back to the site, because this app is nothing but a really pretty mobile catalog.
The shopping catalog in the app is simple to browse, I can easily find the products that I am interested in getting. The new VR feature also helps me place the products in my kitchen, very helpful. One-click purchase with ApplePay is also available which enables a smooth shopping experience.
This app has little value, aside from a few narrow uses, like ordering more trash bags. Years ago, I ordered from Simplehuman from a different email address. Ever since, I’ve used another email address. All of my warranties are registered under the second address. It’s the only address I’ve logged in with or made any purchases with in over a year. But when I login to the app, it requires a phone number. It associates my number with the old email address. I can’t login under my current account. Such a bizarre way to login. You can’t manage your account in the app, so there’s no way to fix it. I just deleted the app. Website works fine. The app adds no value.
“By becoming a member, you agree to receive text messages and emails to get exclusive offers and early access to new products.” No I don’t agree, so you don’t need my phone number. I’ve never seen a company make you to agree to this before signing up. Maybe you can turn off in setting AFTER signing up but I wouldn’t know because I won’t join under these forced conditions. I’ve personally never seen a commercial app that mandated a phone number. You should really review your stance on this. I am sure I’m not the only one who feels this way. I bet you are losing more potential income with this practice than you would lose by removing the phone mandate. Missed opportunity. I would have loved to join.
Worst buying experience on an app ever. We tried 3-4 different cards but it claimed our address was wrong (that was when we could even get to that part because sometimes it wouldn’t leave the cc # screen after typing in). I then tried to use USPS website to get the longer zip, didn’t work. Only reason I put up with it was to help my mom. It took 2 hrs of this because sometimes it would drop stuff out of cart. Tried saving the info under profile, nope, tried logging into my moms account where she has stuff saved, nope info wasn’t there. Not to mention the times I had to shut down the app to get to a different screen because it would get stuck on one screen. Won’t ever use again. Wow.
Version 2.0 forced mirror users to a different app with reduced features.
My mirror was working perfectly with this app. I opened it today and it has apparently been redesigned and I was directed to use a different app instead. The new app is missing two important features of the old one. I cannot see the charge level of my mirror now, and I also cannot adjust the settings so that the light turns off automatically for any length of time past 30 seconds. The previous app allowed me to choose 1 minute, 5 minutes, and 10 minutes, on top of the options the new app has. I’ve enjoyed having this mirror but unless those features are added to the new app, I will not purchase from this company again.
I am experiencing some bug where The cannot remove items from my shopping cart and check out. It seems to get stuck recalculating the total after I remove an item and i’m unable to check out with apple pay. Super frustrating. Also I can’t add bag liners to my order?! It had to be a separate transaction. And as others have mentioned the inability to sync my cart between the app and the website despite requiring a login to even use the the app doesn’t make sense. Doing the black friday sale through the app only is also hella sus.
I downloaded the app and I was very impressed by the user interface and the features! They made it very easy to purchase products and it has all the information you will need about your product and how to get it started and connected!
Have someone on your team try to buy two 6 pouch selections of two different soaps in the same order. It seems to be impossible from the app. There is no “cart” I can freely navigate to or add items to. I can only add items if it’s the default size, 2 pouches in this case. If I select 6, my only option is to buy immediately before selecting the next product. Did you really not test for just buying more than one thing? Seems like a pretty common use. I love the products, but this app is bad.
Being able to see the products in my kitchen is super helpful. We ended up getting the 58L based on how well the can looked and fit in the space we have In our kitchen. Really impressed with the overall experience.
The application indicates that a valid U.S. shipping address is invalid despite the fact that 4 previous orders were sent to that exact same address. Due to this issue, it is impossible to order replacement items. Imagine that…..a most basic and simple address validation, based on a valid address that even the application finds and recommends accurately, was previously used for prior orders with no problem, immediately gets tagged as “invalid” and does NOT allow you to place an order! What a joke! Trash app!
Updated to the new app and it deleted the three different trash cans I had listed. It was much easier to find what bag size I needed by just opening the app instead of having to go and look on the trash cans. It also deleted the bag sizes I had other then the one I have paused on auto-ship and the only way to add it back is to purchase it…but I don’t need new ones yet. Make it easier to access this info and the app will be much better.
The worst user experience I have ever had. It alway takes me to a screen like advertisement but doesn’t allow me to keep browsing or checking my order until I close the app and start it again. The other issue is that in my order list screen, if I click any order and back to the list, all items will be duplicated infinitely. Last but not least, I like simplehuman products but forcing user to download the app in order to get Black Friday deal makes me feel uncomfortable.
Just downloaded the app to make ordering trash bags and soap refills easier. The app is super easy to use. I love the liner section with the liner bubbles. Makes it very easy to navigate and see what product you need… Would recommend.
I have been trying to delete an item in my check out (cart but really no cart) so that I can purchase the other things I want and it won’t allow it. It’s almost as if it’s trying to make me purchase items I don’t want in order to get the ones I do want. So I can’t take advantage of the early access Black Friday Sale because it is only offered on the mobile app. Online & mobile app need to be linked. So shameful. Will be deleted!
This app is simple to use and easy to navigate. Able to find the trash bags and hand soap that I need quickly. Very intuitive. Apple Pay option is nice to have. Order tracking is hassle free. Love the AR. Fun to use. Overall, nice app.
Need to add a shopping cart and the absorbs pods starter pack.
Love the app visually. The colors are great and it’s very clear to see. Look forward to this being more functional, but as others have mentioned before there’s no way to add different items to a shopping cart. I was looking for the absorbs pods starter pack which is not available on the app as well. Thank you
Received emails that if I downloaded the app, I could get 30% off. Well, of course the item that I wanted was not marked as 30% off. The ad didn’t say 30% off some items, only. Very frustrating. There’s no point by buying now vs waiting a month from now to save up money for an expensive soap pump. I think this is deceptive advertising.
The app works great! I especially love the augmented reality feature. I also like that you can now order more than just liners and soap but I wish you can add more than 1 item to your cart.
In have a simplehuman account with my email and thought to try to use the app. But I couldn’t find a way to login in without providing a cell phone number rather than use my email login. Not very useful to require the mobile number when the web login succeeds with email only. Uninstalled and going to continue using the website.
I like Simple Human products however, this site has horrible navigation! I tried ordering a few items for early Black Friday access and it wouldn’t even budge. Also, there is no log out access which leaves you wide open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but the same thing keeps happening. Someone needs to fix these issues asap.
This app is beautifully designed however you can’t add multiple items to a cart and purchase. You have to make multiple purchases. I see other reviews saying the same thing. Having a cart where you can add multiple items is essential in this day and age. It used to have that feature…why would it be removed.
I’ve received about 20+ notifications saying “Your order is on its way” which is obviously needed and some kind of software bug. Overall, the app is just okay. Haven’t found a reason to use this over the website.
Apple Pay has been broken in the app for over 4 months. Impossible to buy anything. I contacted Simplehuman customer support, and they just told me to try a different payment method. I’ve tried every card I own using Apple Pay, and none of them work! I’ve contacted my bank, and they said it’s an issue with Simplehuman. Simplehuman just has no desire to fix this.
It’s a vanity app only. Not useful for finding support or searching for replacement parts. No search is a basic feature. Oh well. —- Simplehuman support reached out so I gave a couple additional stars for good customer support. The app still needs work.
My auto replenish was to ship. Said my card was expired and have been trying to remedy but can’t. My password isn’t working now so asked for “magic link” and also did “forgot password” and an email is never sent to me to do so. I checked my junk folder as well. This app used to work fine for me. Not sure what happened to it but extremely frustrating
I have no idea what the app is like because you can’t even get started on the app without entering your phone number and email. That should be information only needed if an order is going to be placed or if I choose to setup an account. I am tired of all these companies just doing what they can to get your info and then send 1000 emails a week.
Great brand that should invest in better app developers
The brand is great, however the app is atrocious. I can’t receive items from my cart, it add them back again. They real Black Friday deals are only available on the app at this time. How am I suppose to shop on the app if it’s not working. The deals should be available on the website with all these app technical issues!
I tried multiple times to order through the app yesterday. Finally gave up and went to the website. It kept telling me I had to update the delivery/shipping address (which I did several times although it was 100% correct).
Seriously? An app intended to facilitate purchases but does NOT include product dimensions in any of the product descriptions. Epic fail. App is probably easy to use, but never got that far since I couldn’t make a call on which one fit my multiple spaces for which I was hoping to buy cans.
Simplehuman sent me an email with a 30% discount, but it required the purchase to be made in their app. The app won’t allow you to use it without providing your phone number and agreeing to receive texts. No thank you. I will buy from a different company.
I cannot access any of the functions of one of the most expensive mirrors I e ever purchased, because an update wiped out my entire account. And when I signed up like I was brand new, it’s not even an option to add. Supremely disappointed.
Some app developer or marketer sold this wonderful company a bill of goods. The conpany is called Simple Human - this app, Anything But. Let me shop. Rotating pics, shop by function but no way to get to Laundry-which was what I was looking for. I work in IT. This app is useless, all hat no cattle. Signed Disappointed
The app literally opens and just sits at a black screen permanently lol. Then, when I go to your website from my phone to buy trash bags, the “Add to Cart” button does nothing and it always says my cart is empty. What are y’all doing? simplehuman, complicatedeverythingelse
