Favorite game
I don’t just like Skip-Bo, I absolutely love this game. Several , several years ago when my children were in middle school my neighbor and good friend introduced me to this game and I fell in love with it. We would set for hours playing this card game till our bottoms were so numb. Lol, we would get up and walk outside for a bit and walk our dogs till the feeling returned in our bottoms. We played this game almost every day. Her and I would play till it was my girl’s bedtime. We even taught them how to play. My girls are 27 and 30 now and I am still playing this game. I like playing it with the actual cards better because you are with your friends and you sit and have coffee and chat as you play. When whomever won it was very exciting and we were all very competitive when we played to. Now when I play it on my phone I think back about those memories and I smile. I love games that make great memories so u can think about your friends and the great times we had. She still plays but we are in different states now and when I go back home I’m going to get her to download the game so we can play together again. Thanks for making such great games and helping ppl to make wonderful memories. Thanks again, Christine D.

Taking way more coins than supposed to
I absolutely adore this game. I started playing the physical version about 12 years ago and when I found the online version a few weeks ago, it brought back fond memories. I’ve noticed for weeks now that my coins were going way too fast, even though I was winning and should have been making up more than I was loosing. Specifically in the adventure map section. A few days ago I started paying attention to my coin count as I started a match, after I won, and then when I played another round. I have screenshots upon screenshots as well as screen recordings to prove what is happening. I have submitted multiple reports through the app itself with no word back from the technical support team. Not even the bot. I just submitted yet another one and noticed the other reports are now nowhere to be found. So I made sure to screenshot this one. I’m pretty upset that the money I’ve spent on the game has been wasted now that I know that this has been happening… every single time. And it’s never the same amount. One time it was supposed to charge 900 coins and it charged 1009. The next time (both tonight) it was again supposed to charge 900 and charged 1906. So the money that I work hard for and then spend on this game to unwind after work is literally just a waste of money. I loveeee this game but if something doesn’t change it’s going to force me to believe that it’s ran by crooks.

Please read before downloading
Ok so I have been playing this game for a full week and when I play offline it seems like the AI’s have an unfair advantage. Like does this sound normal to you?: You’re playing Skip-Bo and the AI’s get the PERFECT set up and you end up losing. Personally that’s not normal thing for me. Also I don’t like the idea of making you waste your coins to play online. Maybe make it cost less because it’s kind of a waste of coins. Like a full thousand coins!? In my opinion that’s WAYY more than it should be. If any of the creators are reading this think about those things please. Another thing is the earning coins. So, if you run out of coins you have to wait a full hour to get more to be able to play and you only get more if you win. Now, I think that winning offline against the A.Is should give you a few coins. Like maybe 50 to 100, because waiting a full hour to be able to play is kind of ridiculous. Also another idea is just making you have to wait like five minutes to be able to get more coins. Five to thirty minutes would be more acceptable and just make the game lots better. It’s just a shame that you have to wait so long to play. Another thing that is about the coins is that the places that you win in maybe you could earn coins depending on if you got first, second, or third place. Like maybe if you got third place you could get 100, second place 200, and first place however much you’re supposed to get. - Emerson. F

Love/Hate relationship
Let me start by saying.. I love this game! It truly is so much fun and very addicting. I started without signing into Facebook/apple at first. It drove me crazy that I couldn’t change my player name, so I eventually logged in. I hate ads so I had no problem with paying a fee to remove them. I played through the maze of challenges and didn’t see where I “won” coins/points etc but my overall tally seemed up so I was pleased. After awhile, I urged my husband to download the game too so we could try the “play with friends”. We have the physical Skip Bo game at home but it’s a fun twist of the game when we only have a short time to play and don’t feel like physically shuffling cards. After awhile of “creating a room” my husband realized he didn’t have enough coins to play. I was extremely confused by this but again.. hadn’t really paid any attention to the prizes won during my time of playing. I had over 10,000 coins so I started creating the rooms for us. That quickly fizzled out as my coins started running low within an hour and I realized neither of us gained anything by playing each other. No coins are awarded, yet you must “pay” to play. This is so frustrating that we must pay 800 coins to play a 2 player, 10 stack game but don’t earn any coins in return if we win. Doesn’t really add up🤔. Wish this option was free or had better winnings for games played with friends so we can continue.

Lives instead of coins
Skip-Bo is one of my very favorite card games. So of course when I found out it was an app I was all over it! I really enjoy the online aspect of earning more coins. It’s really fun to be able to play with others but why does it cost so much? Seriously I don’t understand. Why can’t we create a room for like 100 coins? It just seems so silly. We don’t win anything. It’s just for fun but can’t do it for very long. You could do a timer option for every room you create if you don’t want people just only player their friends all day. It’s just way over priced when it’s so difficult to win coins. Which brings me to adventure mode. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don’t get creators, why are you making us pay sooooo much for each level?!?!? It takes one loss and that’s it. You can’t play again until your free coins. But this also means you can do anything else in the game either except play offline. So what is the point? You earn 1,000 coins and then decide where to play, 1 loss and your out. Are you all really that money hungry? What about all the other games that give you 5 lives with a timer to earn more. I mean it’s perfect. Other stuff cost coins sure but lives are a much better option especially for the adventure mode. This game is barley fun if you can only play for a short time. I hated to give it 3 stars because of my love for the game, but I feel let down with the ridiculous prices to play.

Fun but sometimes not easy
So this one is fun to me but is not without flaw. The online costs 2000 coins but so does a level. You get coins for every one level an hour which I think should be more frequent. The levels sometimes don’t ever give you the cards you need if you save them in the correct order to use them. It’s unpredictable of course but the coin set up can make levels take days sometimes. I do feel though because of the kind of the type of game this is, it is to be expected the way the win/lose is set up. I feel it’s consistent for the most part in how it’s set up but you will get stuck on levels for days sometimes. The coin thing is meant to be a money grab, no doubt about that one, but if you can collect the coins almost every hour and save them you can do a few rounds at once. The little mini games it does when you play the levels is fun too. You don’t have to beat the levels to play them. Like the food truck one, you didn’t have to beat the levels to get ingredients. Just had to collect a certain number of bags if I remember correctly. You can be stuck on one level for 5 days and still advance in the mini game. It gets frustrating at times but, unless you spend money, you are forced to take long breaks so you don’t really get too frustrated.

Need to adjust to be like Skip-Bo Pro
Need to make this game like the old Skip-Bo Pro. I had millions of points in that game, and never had to use up my points to continue playing. Crazy that you need so many points to play the game. Also, we could have 20-30 cards in our pile to play the game. Much more like the real Skip-Bo game. Someone needs to look back at how Skip-Bo Pro worked. I think I truly had the most points on that game. I do like the backgrounds on the new game. However, the background changed at first, which was fun. Then it just stayed the same. Please take away the need to buy points. What is that about?? You should have an easy way to earn points… like winning, or watching an ad, if needed. Please look at the Skip Solitaire App. You can play all you want without needing to buy points. They just have tiny adds at the bottom. You also can choose your number of cards in your stack- up to 30 points. Will continue to play that game until your playing style changes. Thank you

Like it but I purchased no ads and am getting them
I love skip Bo but I paid for no ads. For months I have not gotten one but lately it’s tried to make me watch an ad before starting a round. I paid for no ads for that reason so I’m not sure why it’s trying to make me watch an ad before starting. Edited because I can’t find a way to contact skip Bo from app settings as told to do. I wish I could post a photo of what i mean but I will play a round then the next round it is trying to force me to watch an ad before starting the next round. I have to close out of the app completely for it to go away. Just for it to try to force me to watch an ad the next game. It’s annoying when I paid for no ads and they still try to force ads. Edited to reply because I couldn’t find where I was able to contact skip Bo through game settings like I was told. I can play a round then the next one the start button will be blue and try to force me to watch an ad and I have to completely exit and refresh the app just to play a round without watching an ad then the next round the same thing. It’s aggravating that I spent money on this app TO GET NO ADS then be forced to watch them. I know there is an option whether to watch for an extra skip Bo card but there’s not an option when trying to start another round.

Good Classic Game … with flaws
I love SkipBo. My fiancée and I play it nearly every day and we make up extra rules for fun. So I love having the chance to play it in app form. I have some issues with how coins are distributed/earned. In the map levels, the only way you can earn back the coins you spent is if you get three stars and earning one star gets you a fraction of the coins spent. It makes it difficult to progress and I’m going to quickly lose interest in this app if I’m only able to play one level at a time due to coin shortage. In the home page, I’ve noticed that you only “earn” coins if you are the “winner” when you compete against other players. I find this a little frustrating because, for example, you stake 1,000 coins in a three person game and the winner gets 2,000 coins. Where do the other 1,000 coins that were staked go? Same for the four player. In all, 8,000 coins are staked and only the “winner” receives a payout of 5,000 coins. I think there should be a system in place where 2nd/3rd/4th split the remaining coins based on their placement. Again, love the game… but the coin system needs to be significantly tweaked in my opinion. I think that individual levels on the map page should maybe cost an amount to “unlock” them and then be either free/significantly reduced coin price to “retry” them.

Has Potential
After giving Skip-Bo another try, here are my favorite and not so favorite things about the game. I love that the game has many different modes in game play. From adventure, online and offline play and play with friends. My complaint about adventure mode is that most of the time it cost more to play a game than the coins you win back when getting 3 stars. Sometimes when you get 3 stars you get back the same amount of coins that you spent to play. When playing online mode, again it costs more to play and only the 1st place winner gets coins as while 2nd and 3rd place don't. You pay 1,000 coins each to play easy online mode and yet only first place gets coins. It would make sense if 2nd place got coins as well. Offline mode is fun but no coins. I love the 1,000 coins each hour but the other ways of earning coins have potential as well. We are missing avatars and frames for our profiles. I love playing games from mattel, and I play Uno all the time to the point I am a VIP 5 and spend actual money on the game. This game has so much potential but it is missing so much. If this game had what they have done for UNO, I would definitely not lose interest. I am excited that we currently have an event ongoing and is the only reason I am giving this Skip-bo another try.

You Screwed The app with the last update
Idk what you all decided to do, but the app was tolerable until today. I use to get 2000+ every couple of hours and would be able to play 2-3 games in story mode. I pull the app up today, suddenly each game in story mode cost 1450 coins, which is fine, until you only give me 1500 coins. So what use to be 2-3 games, which if I’m doing well can become 4-5 games, I suddenly get 1 game and only 1 game. Even if I don’t do well in that one game, I don’t have enough for a second game. Why would you change that? Are you all that broke after requiring me to watch an ad after every game. I’ve known the game you’ve been trying to play to get people to pay to remove ads or for coins, but who would buy coins to lose them in 2 games. Other reviews have mentioned that they paid to remove ads, yet that lasted for a brief moment in time. How could you all decide to screw things up horribly in one week. I’d be shocked if anyone keeps playing this as you have flown to close to the sun. Also? Take a page out of candy crush’s play book, let people play the story/levels for free and have the ability to play multiple levels. Why reduce the amount of coins I get back for passing the levels, in some cases so drastically if it’s 1 star or 2 star when it’s been obvious to me that the game I was playing had no real solution with the cards I’m dealt.

Very unreal experience
I have played thousands of Skip-Bo games, and this app is way too predictable. Never in a million years would the deck of 10 cards be so good that a player goes out in less than one round of play. I have had many games recently where this has happened. The cards in the draw pile were always Skip-Bo or the following card number sequence. I didn’t even get a chance to play one card. I have also noticed WAY too many cards of the same number present in the game. For instance, I counted 13 number 11 cards in one game that were visible to all players. In another game, I counted 12 number 3 cards. NEVER in any real Skip-Bo game would there be that many specific number cards floating around. I do enjoy playing the game when I do not feel like I am playing against bots or the winner is already predetermined before a game has even finished its first round. My husband is a software developer and knows that this game can be improved upon to better the user experience. It’s a decent pastime, nonetheless, but I will never spend money on a game that is so predictable or unreal that anything with the ability to tap a card could win. A monkey could win with no problem…. I wish this game would be better. Algorithms or not, it is a very one-sided experience. Maybe the algorithms are too simple and need to be rewritten. I digress…

It’s fun but can be super annoying
Skip Bo is a really fun game but the issue with the app is that it makes it very obvious that when you play online mode they pick a specific player they want to win and make it easy for them to do so. I went trough 10+ games in a row where one player got an easy win because their entire deck was in order or they had a bigger amount of skip bo cards in the deck than they would have if it was really by chance. Also with the fact that we have to have coins in order to play online. We can't just play with other people and have fun. We have to pay to play an actual game. Adventure mode doesn't give you enough coins to accumulate to play online so you're quite literally forced to pay for more coins if you want to play online. There should at least be an option to get coins if you win offline mode games but you just play with a computer and win nothing. Not even getting to play against really people. It definitely seems certain “offline” players are favored. Some days I win win win plenty of times in a row But today and yesterday it’s been nonstop like one person gets all the card a they need to win like their cards aren’t shuffled accordingly

Super disappointed.
I have been waiting for a Skip-Bo app since my first I anything. It is my all time favorite game and there have been other apps that did way better than this. First and foremost I should not have to pay to play a computer or play a person a game of Skip-Bo. It is ridiculous. I get it for the leveling but not for playing and actual game of Skip-Bo. I agree with a lot of your other reviews that the game is with 20 card piles. The 5 and 10 pile is a why bother. Even more of a why bother when I have to pay to play even a computer! I just want to pass some time and play my game. It really shouldn’t be that hard. Clearly the makers of this game did not spend any time actually playing the real game. The only reason I gave it any stars is the leveling is fun. I do enjoy the challenges each level brings. But even with that your pay outs need to be higher or a no pay to replay. I foresee this whole coin system getting old very quick and I will delete this app. Any true Skip-Bo fan isn’t interested in this. Spite and Malice does a way better Skip-Bo. Also don’t advertise that you can play with friends and then when you get in app it says coming soon. When you can play with friends advertise it. Until then that is just false promises. Really off the mark.

Don’t download unless you want to be mad
I love this app, and I love the potential this app has. I have been playing through the adventure map DAILY and only rarely will I find myself satisfied with my experience. There are periods where I beat level after level and complete events where my coins go up drastically, and that’s great. However, once you reach a little over 10k coins and/or are winning too many levels in a row, suddenly the levels are absolutely unsolvable and impossible to win. I always open this game to kill time or stay occupied but I have gone hours/days waiting to beat one level due to having to wait for my coins to refill. Furthermore, there are time wherein there will be an offer to watch an ad for extra cards if you’re close to winning a level. But don’t count on this every time, especially if your coins are high and you’re on a winning streak. Also don’t count on the extra cards to even be the ONE card you need to win. I’ve spent several occasions watching ads for extra cards just to end up losing anyway. This game has so much potential, when it’s good it’s great. But just when things are going good, I find myself highly agitated.

Annoying
First off I love Skip Bo which is what made me download the app, but this app brings me more frustration than joy because of the coin situation. The levels need to be life based. If you lose a level, you lose a life. If you win a level, you get x amount of coins depending on how well you did and you keep that life. The free coins every hour needs to stay because your odds of winning an online match are slim to none. I have seen WAY too many people go out in one turn in the regular and high steaks game. I literally just left a high steaks game where 6 of the cards were skip bos and every other card followed perfectly. They were the first to start the game and the only to play. Also, you need to charge less for the online games because I can maybe only play one, get cheated out on it because someone typically goes out on their first play since all the cards miraculously fit. Because of this, I can’t play anything else for the next hour. Forcing people to buy coins to play is just dirty. Why not give players the option to watch one video to to knock 30 mins off of the hour wait for free coins if you won’t change anything? I’ve seen many, MANY complaints about the coin problem and there has yet to be a solution.

Ridiculously rigged…
The game could be fun… it starts off with a fair algorithm to get you hooked then quickly spirals into a highly rigged game with low to no chance of beating the bots in the “live” game. It’s basically you against a team of three bots who will do moves no human player would ever do to let the next bot win. You’ll have one card left, and one of the bots will discard a card the other bot needs, bot two will then miraculously have 5 skip Bo cards and then will immediately go out. This happens about 90% of the time. So frustrating because the game could be amazing but the algorithm is set so ridiculously that you can actually tell from round one which bots are the setters and which bot will beat you (and also can tell you have zero chance that round). The adventure game is quite similar - starts out with realistic odds - then spirals into levels that are impossible to beat unless you buy an upgrade - you can’t start a pile if you there are no cards numbered 1 in the pile… The ads aren’t as bad as I’ve seen in the other reviews though - normal amount for any game in my opinion. Fix your game developers!! You could have a treasure but you created trash! I would not recommend downloading this game unless you enjoy the feeling of wanting to throw your phone across the room.

Hard to enjoy playing
I find the game to be kind of odd. I recently got into Skip-Bo in general and I downloaded the game so I could enjoy the new experiences with friend(s). However, the games more technical mechanics has caused me to not enjoy the app. It is surprisingly difficult to get three stars in the story missions without using coins. Sometimes the game seems to just give you unsolvable decks. I played a level without spending any coins to give you a Skip-Bo card(s) and I did all the right moves and I still lost. Even friends who played the app that I consulted this have pretty much all said that the game does it to them too. I causes you to waste a good bit of your coins. Also, if you don’t beat the level, you just lose a sum of coins. It’s frustrating to try and get three-stars on every level whenever you fail, lose coins, fail again, and eventually find yourself low on coins and have only progressed a few levels. I suppose you could just not care about get a perfect three stars on the level but who really wants to do that? Pft Skip-Bo is a great game in general but I wouldn’t tell any of my friends to download this app to experience it.

After 4 days its pay to play
Some levels I swear are impossible without buying extra cards or Skip-Bo, leaving you with almost no coins. The ONLY way to play proper Skip-Bo is to wager online (or play with friends) which again comes down to how many coins you have. So basically once your out of coins you’re screwed because you can’t play online, and you can’t beat adventure mode since a lot of levels require you spend more coins than you’d earn from completing the level. NO COINS=NO FUN. PLEASE MAKE AN ONLINE THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE YOU TO WAGER OR MAKE A CHEAPER WAGER CATEGORY! SECOND: WHY ONLY 15 energy max, this allows you to go through 3 levels of adventure mode, which by the way isn’t guaranteed because it’s easy to fail levels if you aren’t careful or are just plain unlucky. I know the game just cares about making money but this could EASILY be my favorite game on the App Store if you just added 10 more energy max, and made the online play easier to buy into and or add a daily gift allowing you to get more coins. I’m only on level 12 (4 days in playing) and I’ve bankrupted myself in coins and can no longer beat levels without spending coins and can no longer play online due to steep buy in cost. PLEASE MATEL FIX THIS.

What are the rules for this version?
I’ve enjoyed the card game but am totally confused by this version. What’s the purpose of buying coins and why do I keep running out when I’m just trying to learn how it works. I can’t figure out the single player version. How do I get back to having an opponent? It’s no fun playing when I keep running into game changes (rules) I don’t understand. Please help! I want to write a review with 4 or 5 stars! I tried playing again tonight but ran into an impossible situation: My playing pile had a 6 on top so I needed a 7. An 8 was on the top of my available pile. Cards 1, 9, 10, and 12 were available on the board. My holding cards were 10, 11, and 12. When I tried to draw from my available cards “This card looks useful” was displayed. Then I tried all the other cards but nothing worked! What was I doing wrong?

I figured with the new update this game would get better but naturally not!!😡😡 can’t get all your rewards and you have to play the game at least five times before it will let you go to the next level. Therefore, all it does is take all your coins where you do not have any coins to play with. I have reported this several times, but nothing ever gets done about it. this game is a rip off. no matter how much info you send them how many pictures you screen shots you send them they never ever fix the problem. I have deleted this game several times waited a while to reinstall it thinking that maybe they would have fixed all their problems but no, it’s the same thing every time I download it again. Y’all need to fix this problem. SO I REPORTED THE THE support team that I was not getting my reward coins. I even sent them pictures and showed them that I was not getting the reward coin. They came back and said that they need video of it which me not getting my reward when the picture plainly shows it. Like I said in the beginning, no matter what you send them they do not care. I don’t even know why they have this game on any device because they do not want to fix the problems😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Not worth it
I love playing this game and the way the app is set up is easy to understand and use. The downside is that every thing cost so much to do except to play offline. You get 1200 coins every hour (that’s if you get on the app every single hour to collect your coins) and that’s not even enough coins to play online with real people which costs 2000. The adventure is the worst part of the app. Its fun and addicting however, some of the levels are not possible to beat the first couple of times you play them, meaning you must keep spending coins faster than you’re earning them. I played the same level 3 times and each time was not offered a certain card that was required to complete the level, making it physically impossible to win. How can you expect players to spend 700 coins on a level without giving them a fair chance to win? It’s like the creators want you to spend real money on their coins just to do anything. And yes sometimes they offer ads but its usually 2 different ads in one, and then you get one measly skip bo card that doesn’t even aid in you passing the level. Overall fun game but only if you want to play offline.

Decent
The game is fun. I mostly do the adventure mode because playing offline is boring and very repetitive. Most of the bots just get card after card after card to win. It’s geared towards them, which I don’t even understand why, as we don’t win coins or anything playing that way. Adventure mode is more fun anyways, but one big dislike, are the ads. I am a-ok with watching ads because I refuse to invest money in a mobile game, BUT one ad shouldn’t need to be clicked 4-5 times just to get out of it. You click once to move on and it brings up another video ad for five seconds, click again and some other thing pops up, repeat. Then they have the audacity to have a pop up telling you to Pay .99 cents and get rid of them. The challenges are a little boring, though I am new to downloading this and have only been around for the tail end of the cooking one and now the floral one. I did enjoy the meals one a bit more. Overall, not a bad game, though they do need a better way to get coins. The hourly free coins are cool and all, but more options BESIDES just buying them would be nice.

Noisy ads and devs don’t care
This was a fun game. At some point, the ads in this game no longer honored the mute setting within the game configuration nor does it honor having the phone in silent mode. I play games to pass time; usually in a public setting. Having to manually adjust the volume for a game is ridiculous. I reported this to the developers and they assured me it would be fixed. It still hasn’t been corrected in the month since it was reported. None of the other games I play exhibit this behavior and ads are played honoring either the game mute setting or the phone in silent mode. I’m deleting this game as there seems to be no interest in fixing this bug. Instead of getting ad revenue, these developers now get nothing. In response to the developers, this game is the only one I played that has this issue. Perhaps you need a better third party ad provider. Or even better, work with your ad provider. Passing the buck to a third party is a cop out. Turning down my volume to play a game is not an acceptable solution. I’ve deleted the game and hopefully this review reaches prospective players and encourages them to pass on this download.

Fun Game, Fremium Structure REQUIRES You To Pay
So here’s the deal, this game is really fun and I enjoy the adventure structure. I would play it for hours if I could. However, the fremium set up is very extreme compared to other similar apps. The app does give you free coins every hour, though there may be a glitch in mine right now because the free coins section is now showing 8 hours, which infuriated me. The free coins you receive are just enough for one game. If you don’t pass that level, you have to wait another hour to play (or 8 according to mine right now). The chest rewards for collecting stars aren’t helpful because they give you less than one round of coins, so you still have to wait to play. I was pretty mad when I paid $5 for a chest and I only played 5 rounds because I lost all of them. Seems more of a scam than anything. I don’t usually leave reviews but if you want to play this game you’ll likely be forking over your monthly paycheck. I don’t mind paying small amount here or there but the value just isn’t there. Find another app that gives you a fair amount of plays before asking you to pay up.

Love/Frustrating Relationship
I want to start by saying thank you to the developers! I grew up playing the physical card version with my parents, grandpa, and his friends quite often so its awesome to be able to pick it up again digitally and continue playing it with my parents. I realize since my grandpa’s passing this game has become a nostalgic piece in my life to bring back fond memories- so I thank the development team again for building a digital version of this game and supporting it still :) There are some parts of the game however that seem a bit… “extra”. Mainly, the pay-to-play part where theres a transaction option at almost every juncture. I earn some coins, but not all of them and have to pay to access the rest. I don’t have social media so there’s no benefit for that, though the adds and extra monetary perks are wrapped around linking to facebook and following on IG. I would suggest balancing it a bit to allow players to earn card backs, avatar frames, profile avatars by dedication to playing (ie. grinding a bit) instead of locking it behind a paywall. Also, when playing online if emotes to other players and/or pre-written phrases could be used that would be awesome! Some examples: a laughing/ sad emoji face or a “good game!” / “nice play!” phrase. There’s some other points of opportunity for gameplay experience improvement, but the paywall is the biggest one. Thank you all again and for taking the time to review this!!

Unacceptable
I use to play uno but noticed Skip-Bo coming up as an ad a lot. Looked fun so I downloaded it. It was great but I realized I lost money so fast on the game. So I would play offline which get boring pretty fast. Anyway when I play in adventure mode it cost 1055 to play the round then another 1800 if you run out of cards. And then another 2000 if those cards still aren’t enough. By the time I done winning the level. I don’t even win half of my money back that I’ve invested to beat the level. Every time I run out of cards I buy more just for it to still not have that one card I’m looking for. Today I started off with 30,000 coins. Ive played 2 rounds and now only have 25,000. SMH, I just don’t understand why do it cost so much to play the game and you barley even win anything ?? 1800 to get more 4 cards that’s not even the one you’re missing? It just make me want to delete the app and keep playing Uno. If you guys could explain why is it that it so much money to play and little to win then I could probably understand it.

Ads even during offline mode
I was really enjoying this game and still would. However, if I’m playing the “offline mode” why am I getting ads? It’s gotten so bad that it is after every round. Everyone hates ads and I’m one that I will quickly delete an app if ads come up after every round of a game. I thought that maybe something had changed because it didn’t do this at first. The only thing that I had done differently was try out the story mode. Well I deleted the app and downloaded it again and it started me all over, which is what I wanted. Well after you play so many rounds now it forces you into going into story mode as it says “new something unlocked” where it takes you to the reward present. You cannot close out of this whatsoever even if you close out of the app. Please fix this as offline mode should truly be offline. Another frustrating thing I have noticed is when playing the offline mode the players seem to have an abundance of Skip-Bo cards, in all reality one deck wouldn’t even have that many. It does get frustrating when you’re playing and the “people” your playing against have an obvious advantage.

It’s skip bo. It’s a fun but scaled against you. Or for you.
This is a fun game. If you like the skip Bo card game this is it. Love it. But it’s not really like playing the game. Or if it is then the bot is TERRRRRRIBBBLELEEE at shuffling. I’ve played a few dozen games now and whether I win or loose it’s always by emptying about 3 hands of cards in one turn. If I loose I watch as the other player empties 3 or so hands of cards in the same turn. Every single game. I win plenty I loose plenty. It’s just kinda boring when that’s how it works. You don’t need any strategy here. Just wait for the cards to fall and see if you’re dropping 8 of your 10 in 1 shot or not. 1 player in every match will also get NOTHING but 12s and 10s. Seems very one sided. But sometime in your favor sometimes in another. My wife and I play this in real life and neither of has this kind of luck so I’m guessing it’s because this is electronic and the RNG is just not balanced properly. So all in all it’s fun but not like the real thing. I burned out on in in the same day I downloaded it. Oh well.

Never enough coins
I’m not paying for coins when I barely had time to play. Why is Skip-Bo feel like a casino game and I have to keep spending money? I like to play a lot and then invest in a purchase when I feel like the game provides so many opportunities to play and win without spending money beforehand. Like Royal Match for instance. I’ve been playing and playing without a purchase, but I invested in a purchase not because I was trapped but because the purchase seemed like I would be getting a lot of fun cool stuff I wanted to try. This game is just about coins that you run out of fast. What idiot would pay $100 for enough coins to play for a week on a game that is mostly about chance. I would be more than willing to pay a one time fee to purchase the app altogether if I didn’t need to HAVE to constantly make in app purchases unless it was something to enhance the game, like different themes or something like that. I will pay for that. Like the monopoly app. Otherwise I’ve only been able to play this game for 30min to an hour before I lost all my coins. I’m not going to sit around everyday for hours for coins to regenerate. It’s just not fun…

All about taking your money and wasting it. -3 stars for me
Don’t play. So not fun. Total money grab and completely rigged. Honestly best bet is to download delete download delete everytime you run out of coins which will probably be after 5 games. Doesn’t even matter if you’re good at the game, it makes sure you only win every 5-6 games and only gives you 3000 coins to start and 1000 a day. Games of 5 are 1000 and typically give someone’s deck a skip,2,3,6,8 in that order so they win within a round if not the fist round. High stakes are 2000 to play but I’ve yet to win one. Everytime I get down to 1 card, it gives me the exact opposite of the cards I need to win the game or like 3 of the same card and the other 2 cards are cards I already have In my discard piles. Basically makes sure you don’t ever win or get enough money to keep playing… then the kicker is that the only way to get more coin is to buy it but you’ll spend them in 5 minutes on 2 games maybeeeee 3 if you get lucky. And the offline version is so unfun it’s not even worth play. Other reviews say the same thing so surprised on how it has 4 stars.

Absolute Garbage!
Five days ago, if you asked me if I liked Skip-Bo I would have told you “No, I LOVE it!” However, I have begun to hate what I once loved. When I first downloaded this game it felt like a dream come true—I could satisfy my addiction without having to shuffle 162 cards. After playing a handful of online games, I was out of coins. Like others who have fallen into this trap, I spent my hard earned dollars for more coins. Within minutes, those coins were gone too. “Skip-Bo” app includes bots and forces you to lose in order to buy more coins. Swearing to never spend my money on coins again, I began to play the Adventure challenges. I quickly learned that you will rarely win the challenge on the first try. Sometimes I will not be provided with a card that is necessary to unblock another card to complete the challenge. In other words, the challenges are rigged too. You will end up with no coins again. Also, you are betting 700 coins to gain around 800 coins. So, if you win a challenge, you will gain 100 coins, but if you lose the challenge you lose 700 coins. Total scam. Will be deleting. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!

Really unhappy with the changes.
I have been playing Skip-Bo for well over a year and absolutely love it! It’s my go to game to just lose myself in something and forget about my day to day stuff. Recently, the app does not let me do what I want! If there’s a game or special event going on, I cannot get past that to play online with friends. That stupid little hand at the bottom keeps prompting me to open a game I do not want to play. I have also had problems with the screen freezing, and none of the other choices work. Today I deleted the app completely, and then reinstalled it to see if that would help. Now it’s way worse! I can’t seem to get out of a tutorial! I played several games to get past the newbie level, even though it asked me if I had played before, and I chose yes. So now when I’m thinking what to do. That stupid little hand comes up and is trying to tell me what to do. sorry but I am done with Skip-Bo

Unfair algorithm
I downloaded this game because of an add I saw I like card games so I downloaded it. When I started playing it was fun but the algorithm is ridiculous. When I first started playing I played offline and it was fine the first few games but then I could never win and I played several game online and offline; but no matter what game mode the other players card where always in a row and/or they had many of the skip cards. At first I thought it was just my frustration of loosing that I was getting so distracted and not playing to the full extent but no when I came to play the game the next day it was still the same. So it’s not uncommon or just a coincidence every game on or offline it is almost impossible to win because of the card distribution. It’s more annoying than frustrating. I think that the game developers should change something so it’s actually a fun game to play.

Love it, but some things don’t add up
I love Skip-Bo, to be honest I play every day. But, I have noticed that when playing the “online” games, the other two/three players seem to be teaming up against me. For example, when I played the smaller game, if there is Player1 and Player2 and they both have a 4 on top of their stock pile, Player1 will put down 1,2, and 3, then they won’t put down their 4 card?? So then Player2 ends up winning because they got to put down their 4 card. It makes me wonder if it is actually an online game or not. This has happened a lot in the past couple days, but didn’t happen when I first started playing! It just makes no sense to me, because if they were other real players like me, they would want themselves to win, not the other player next to them! If someone could get back to me with this issue it would be great!

Deceptive Advertising for Ad Removal
I love the Skip-Bo card game but this app just frustrates me. I paid to have the ads removed, yet several times during each game it reminds me I can watch ads for powerups. If I paid for no ads, please stop giving me ads to watch ads. This just pisses me off to the point I don’t want to play any longer. Then adventure mode is clearly rigged to make you fail. I expected a puzzle game where there was logic behind it. In practice though, I find that without powerups, levels are impossible to win until their algorithm sees you’ve played long enough and makes it easy. The first several times you play a level, it’s clear that all the cards needed to win are not even in the deck, meaning the hand was never possible. What is the point in playing this when it’s clear that the makers of this game rig this in their favor. On top of all this, they keep sending me messages to share my data with them. Absolutely not! I said no, stop asking me! I’ve wasted enough time on this crap. I expected a lot more from a well known brand like this.

Disappointed
I love the card game, but the app is very clearly so desperate for money that the game is not enjoyable. There’s so little payoff for beating a level that you’re never able to save coins- lose 2-3 times, and you’re out. You end up only playing one level an hour, if that, so it doesn’t feel worth it to play. I also can’t imagine spending real money for more coins, since the game is clearly intent on draining them from you. Maybe if the coins would actually last, but it wouldn’t even be worth spending the money for how little you’d end up playing. Also, they definitely set you up to lose. I’ll go back to play an easier level and earn all 3 stars, but it’s physically impossible to even start. I’ve saved every card in the deck to confirm the game just will not give you the right numbers to reach the first card needed of the level. Another reason to not waste your money, since they will literally eat it up for nothing. Very disappointing bc this app could’ve been very fun.

Purchases..BEWARE
I have been playing this game for months as I enjoy it. There are certain aspects that are frustrating like an 8 hour wait for new coins when they have decided you have collected enough for the day and some of the bonuses features that are supposed to help you actually take away cards you need but I was still enjoying the game. I buy a star pass for each chapter that I reach to get the extra bonuses. Last week out of nowhere my star pass disappears. I contact the game, gave them my apple receipt and all of the information they asked for and they told me it would be 3 days to receive a resolution. I waited three day’s and nothing so I contacted them again and was told they would put an urgent marker on my request. It is now going on 7 days and I have heard nothing from them except when I have reached out to them. I’ve played other games and if a glitch happens they have it fixed in a day. This game doesn’t seem to care. All I want is what I paid for!

It’s fun but could be better
This game is fun, and despite its flaws I find myself still playing it. However I mostly play offline. There are not very many opportunities to win coins and each level when played online costs so many of your coins at once. All it takes is one loss and you have no choice but to play offline until your next set of free coins. I’ve never played another game with such a sort lifespan. This game also gives you some room for strategy but at the end of the day you could spend your coins to play online and still get a crappy hand and lose. In other words strategy may get you further but it will not help you win. The way the cards are drawn at random means the outcome is unpredictable. If I had a chance to make the game better I would allow one round playing online to cost less of your coins. That way if you are dealt a rough round you’re not completely out and can keep playing.

Coins
Literally love this game except 1 thing- why do you drain these coins from us? I’ve seen multiple reviews on here saying the same thing, yet your responses (from a year+ ago) all day you’re “working on improving the game. Thanks for the helpful feedback” phase 10 is more fair and it’s by the same company so what is up with this? The issue here is you’re not listening to the people playing this game. I will ply for maybe 5-6 minutes before running out of coin to do anything productive in this game. I then proceed to close the app, forget about the free coins every hour (cause you lost them all and you HAVE to open the app to click a button, just reward them over time? It’s dumb.) and then the cycle repeats. I paid the money to go ad free and figured that would be helpful to the success in game/adventure mode- I was wrong. Don’t waste the money, cause all they want is for you to pay more for coins/lives that should be free to begin with. Like using a set amount of lives etc. Fix it already.

Online mode is basically all bots
There are many things I do like about the game. They give out coins every hour which is pretty decent compared to most apps. They also have pretty cheap options to buy some coins which also means you won’t have to watch random ads, although there are still ads to watch to earn extra coins, skip cards, or other perks. My main complaint is that when playing “online” it’s very obvious that you’re playing with bots. You can tell by the lack of human error, and when adjusting the page slightly the game speeds through the computerized moves. That would be way too fast if it were real people. The profile pictures are all stock photos, never any real pictures of anyone. So basically it’s the same as playing offline except you lose coins if you lose. Takes the fun out of it. I’d like to actually play against real people if I’m paying to play “online”.

Unplayable now after updates
After I complained on here about the bots cheating, it has actually gotten worse. Instead of fixing it, they ramped it up. Whoever responded to my previous review (which is now missing btw, guess they delete the bad ones) basically admitted the game is rigged and they only care about the money. I have been playing this card game since I was a child. I am very good, almost unbeatable. On this game’s offline version where you play against a bot, I can hardly ever win now. I used to win at least several times in a row. Being frustrated by a game is not my idea of relaxing or fun. The map part is an absolute joke with how little coins you earn and then the cards needed to win a round are not even available, so the game isn’t winnable until they decide to let you have the cards needed. Could take 2 rounds, could take 10, who knows! That makes no sense at all. You won’t have to worry about me complaining anymore because I quit! I’m deleting this joke of a game. There’s no way this game really has 4.9 stars, no way!

expensive
i am a skip bo newbie i loved the game i was so obsessed during the first 10 levels which made the game seem as if it was similar to the candy crush concept with how you can easily move thru the levels. however, once you become seasoned, it gets more and more expensive to play each level. it’s the craziest thing to me having to pay to play each level but if you lose, which will happen regardless because some levels just don’t come with every card you need, you’ve now spent all of the coins you waited an hour to get. when you are out of coins, you can’t do anything except play the offline mode with zero reward and who wants to play with the fake computer players all day. it seems like so many people have had the same complaint about coins and costs for over a year now so it’s unfortunate that it is still the same issue. it’s as if the developers force you to pay for coins and xtra cards. and another thing, the game extras inside the level are just as expensive to buy you literally have no choice but to wait multiple hours to make enough coins to spend them all again inside of one level to finally win. i’ve never had an option to watch ads to earn extra coins or any opportunities to make more coins while waiting which i think development of that would be beneficial.

Love the game but the app needs improvement on one thing.
Love playing Skip-Bo one of my favorite card games as a child and to this day. The game play on the mobile version is the exact same as the original game except one thing… the amount of cards in the deck. Playing with friends the fun of the game was how it was a longer game that no one knew until the very end who was going to win and time would pass without even knowing it. 10 cards being the maximum per deck playing with friends on a game night is WAY too short. I recommend keeping those options for players who do not want a long game but for players who are used to playing with 25-35 cards in a players deck it is too short. I find myself leaving the game with friends and not playing any longer just because every 5 minutes we need to start a new game. I will change this review to a 5 star review if this one change is made, but without it the play of the game just isn’t the same.

Decent
The best quality in my opinion is the online play option. The “arcade” or “solitaire” aspect of the game I am not too fond of. However I do feel that the rewards you win after either the high stakes or lower stakes isn’t fair or adequate. For example, the only way to acquire tokens is through the “solitaire” aspect. However when you play high stakes it cost 2000 tokens with 4 players. However if you win you only get up to 5000 tokens. If each player is paying 2000 tokens to ply that equals to 8000 tokens not 5000. If I were to receive up to 5000 tokens after a win then there should be constellation prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. Also more cards should be added to the low stakes and maybe up them by 5 for high stakes and low stakes. But besides that if it weren’t for that issue then I would assume the app is a cash grab or gimmick. However I do enjoy the game and was glad to finally see a skip Bo app.

Game is A Casino
The nature of Skip-Bo is based on luck. You will get very bad hands and will lose all your coins very quickly. Coins are used to play classic Skip-Bo with real players (although sometimes they feel like AI). The only “free” way to obtain coins is being allowed to occasionally watch an AD, rewards, or by playing the mini game. Unfortunately, the mini-game requires coins to play and even if you do well you profit very little. The mini-game is also based on luck and they riddle it with items to increase your chance of getting a good score, but don’t increase your earnings, so regardless you still make really little coins. The App is overall terrible and is only fun if you play the offline mode. The AI is better than most players anyways and it doesn’t cost any coins. Don’t waste your money on this horrible game. They have somehow found a way to ruin Skip-Bo. +1 star for being functional. +1 star for having a fun offline mode. -3 stars for everything else.

Several issues. Needs improvement
I have several issues with this game 1. The card stack size is limited to either 5 or 10 in offline mode (and only 5 in online!). Why? Playing the card game, we would always start with at least 20 cards in the stack. Part of the fun for me is trying to be strategic, but your strategies don’t have a chance to make a difference when an opponent gets a lucky run and blows through half of their cards. 2. Coins. If I just want to play the game solo, by myself, why do I have to pay coins to play? You very quickly run out of coins and then you have to either wait or buy some. I understand doing this to force people to pay, but it ruins the game. Show me a 30 second ad after each game if that’s what it takes, but let me actually play the game! I don’t mind paying to remove ads permanently, but I’m not going to pay for coins, which will soon run out again. 3. No multiplayer with friends. Yes, it says this feature is coming soon, but to me this is the most important feature. And when this feature finally does get released, will it still have the same two issues I already discussed? My mom and I love Skip-Bo and would probably spend hours playing against each other. But if we can only play with 5 or 10 card stacks, it’s not going to be fun for either of us. And if we have to pay coins to play each other like you currently do either online play, we won’t be able to play for long.

Could be better
Skip Bo is a really fun game but the issue with the app is that it makes it very obvious that when you play online mode they pick a specific player they want to win and make it easy for them to do so. I went trough 5 games in a row where one player got an easy win because their entire deck was in order or they had a bigger amount of skip bo cards in the deck than they would have if it was really by chance. Also with the fact that we have to have coins in order to play online. We can’t just play with other people and have fun. We have to pay to play an actual game. Adventure mode doesn’t give you enough coins to accumulate to play online so you’re quite literally forced to pay for more coins if you want to play online. There should at least be an option to get coins if you win offline mode games but you just play with a computer and win nothing. Not even getting to play against really people.

Love this game but..
I played the actual card game first, told my aunty about it and she told me there was a mobile game for it, so of course I downloaded it. It is very fun, and I could play it for hours BUT its hard to play when you have to pay to challenge people, and if you don’t get first place you don’t win anything at all. Also for the levels, you pay more to play the level but don’t win back enough to cover what you paid unless you get three stars, which is easy at first but then it gets more difficult. So now im stuck between waiting the hour for coins, then challenging people to try and win (with the chance of losing everything) or wasting the coins on levels. I hope this can be worked on, the game would be much more enjoyable if I didn’t have to keep waiting an hour just to possibly lose it after one round and then wait another hour.

SORRY, HAVE TO UNINSTALL
UPDATE: The Developer wrote back that they don’t force you to use other games but give them as options, but as I recall, one has to do the other games to get enough points to resume playing Skipbo. I probably don’t understand the system because I never want to play for points or treasures or anything like that, I just play for the strategy. Skipbo is a fast fun game that I love playing in the real world with friends, and it’s neat having an online version too when you can’t do the real thing. PREVIOUS REVIEW: The game is great for a while and then it begins forcing you off into other games you don’t want and then you get stuck in them and are unable to get back to Skipbo. Because I refuse to be forced into playing games I didn’t sign up for and don’t want and weren’t what I downloaded, I have to uninstall. Skipbo itself is terrific when they let you play it!
